Food ok needs more spice flavour. Quite bland. Give it a go not everyone likes food to spicy.

Excellent food and service, the chef came out of the kitchen to let us know the ingredients that were in the desserts he made, which were lovely, we would highly recommend and look forward to our next visit.

Great meal. The railway lamb was fantastic and we were given a chocolate samosa at the end which was off the scale. Definately worth a visit.

Great mid week night out. Tuesdays are Thali night ,nice selection of 4 various dishes ,nans,rice and salad that always hits the spot. Great value too. The waitress is always really attentive and helpful if you fancy trying something different...or not lol . Chef is great and often comes out to have a chat and make sure all is well. Can't wait to visit again and try something new..

Absolutely fantastic experience The waitress ran us through the menu and made recommendations which were spot on. This is not just an Indian restaurant, it has dishes that we haven’t had before as well as the classics. The food was amazing and very fresh tasting, I wish them every success and we will be back soon.

Another great night at the Mall Road last night with Priyanka looking after us and Raju (owner & chef) making us a special (free) desert celebrating our 50th booking. Having been 50 times will indicate just how much we like the consistent high quality food and super service that we always receive at this restaurant. Highly recommend. 😃

We decided to go local and I'm so glad we did. The food was delicious, the staff were fantastic and very tentative. We chose among other dishes the Sev Puri. They are the most delicious bites that I have experienced in a long time. Everything we ate was flavoursome and exquisite. A true gem.

Really nice meal we had vegetable samosas and pakoras for starters. Then my wife had the sagg chicken and I had the chilli lamb. Tasted like Punjabi cooking rather than the normal Indian restaurants. We’ll definitely be visiting again.

First visit and really impressed. Service tentative with friendly staff. The chef came out to see how everyone was enjoying the food and spoke to each table for feedback. The food was delightful, I like Indian food but sometimes find it too oily but this food was all fresh, light and just so tasteful. We have been meaning to try this restaurant for a while and are so glad we went, it will now become a regular. We are lucky to have this standard of Indian locally. Returned here on a cold, damp Wednesday evening. Really pleased to see the place busy as we arrived; word is getting around about nice this place is! Lovely friendly service for our group of 4 and a good opportunity for our group to share some new dishes as we explored the menu together. Not a bad dish on the menu here, everything is cooked with great care and it shows in the taste. Each dish is different - would recommend the Railway Lamb and the Grandma's chicken curry. The star of the show has to be the chilli and date naan. Has to be tasted to be believed!!

A very comfortable and welcoming restaurant with delightful staff. The food was absolutely outstanding. True Indian food that was freshly and perfectly cooked. (Yes - I have been to India.) Great advice given by the lovely waitress as to what goes with what. A treat in every way.

Visited on a quiet Tuesday evening Lovely welcome from the host. Food is incredible. Don’t be frightened that it’s not your regular Indian dishes. This is true Indian food We had Jadai Chicken and Railway Lamb. Both were amazing. Highly recommended!

Had a Diwali lunch at the restaurant. Selected from online searches instead of travelling to London. What a good choice. Probably have future Rotary dinner depending on numbers.

Great authentic food alert!! This is now our favourite Indian on this side of Essex potentially all of Essex. Service was excellent, the staff knew their food really well, the owner is the head chef (delicious food). We had Priya and a young attentive waiter, didn't catch his name, both were super nice, we had a good chit chat with them. We dined on a rainy Saturday evening and the place was buzzing with groups and couples dinning. The prices are very reasonable and the cocktails are a must try. 5/5 from me and my husband.

We visited this restaurant on a Wednesday evening. The food was amazing . My husband had the railway lamb and I had grandmas curry. Both arrived piping hot. We were served by 2 lovely ladies who really couldn't do enough for us. We are hoping to go back on Wednesday this week and I am really looking forward to another beautiful meal.

My new favourite Indian. This is by some way the best tasting Indian food in the area. The menu is different to your typical Indian restaurant offering authentic cuisine, but you can ask for the common dishes too. I tried the Kadai chicken curry and it was superb. Genuinely one of the best meals I've had in a long time. The atmosphere in the restaurant is very relaxed and the service is superb. Special mention to Priyanka our waitress who was hilarious and very attentive. An absolute must try if you're local or visiting the area. 10/10

Another visit of many to mall road from the moment you walk in the door the welcome you get from Raj and his great staff sets the tone. The food is amazing tasty fresh and different from the usual run of the mill Indian restaurants. The boys & I took their Dad here for a Father's Day lunch and we were so glad we did! What a great place, not long under new ownership and they're really doing good things! The food was gorgeous and the staff were helpful, friendly and fun. We have 2 young boys who like Indian food but aren't overly adventurous with it - finding dishes they already know made with an Indian twist was fantastic for them. Our eldest had a tikka burger, (the sauce was a bit hot for him and they immediately re-made it for him with a milder sauce!), our youngest had Indian Fish & Chips and he loved having one of his faves cooked with some Indian spices. Highly recommend their Thali which us parents both had. Will be recommending this restaurant and will be visiting again - LOVED IT!

An Oasis of bursting flavours in a crowded cuisine. Attentive Service, Comfortable Surroundings, this food is not just thrown into a pan and served, the bursting flavours in each dish proves care and attention in its preparation, Massala Calamari, Saag Lamb, Mall Road Lamb Chops, Chicken Tikka Massala, amazing portions and flavours. First time there as we were looking for a new experience of Indian cuisine checked the net and we decided to go there although it's a bit far from where we are ... however arrived to there found us a table set down and started to order drinks followed by starter and the main course....got the drinks five minutes later the main arrived I asked where the starter got told you never asked for one ......then the waiter took the food back another ten minutes my partner starter arrived onions bahaji .. really disappointed as it didn't look or taste like one was just some onion made flat and very thin and fried very oily she did not eat it..... asked where is my starter was again told you didn't order any called the waiter who took the order ten minutes later I got my kebab ...was ok .... fifteen minutes later was told the main is ready brought 2 warm plats set there until they got cooled and then the mains arrived 10 minutes later....my was the special of the day ...ok but nothing to shout about very very lemony portion was good rice was good my partner chicken 🐔 madras unfortunately not as nice as other places .... paid the bill ... and left ...not going there again 😞

Greeted at the door by the lovely Priyanka, she was very friendly, attentive and helpful. Explained a couple of things on the menu that I'd not heard of before and recommended the Kadai Chicken. Wow! Truly amazing, I think it's now my go-to curry! All the food we had was very tasty, the pulao rice, keema naan oh and the lamb chops mmmmm I could eat it all over again! Well done chef! Look forward to coming back!

Have been to Mall Road restaurants some 5 weeks running and have discovered the nicest Indian restaurant I have ever been to. The welcome from Priyanka and the food from Rajiv take some beating. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Had a fab Sunday lunch here. Street food style, beautifully presented and incredibly tasty. A different type of Indian food. I think this is a special Sunday lunch menu and is excellent value and very generous portions. Fantastically friendly service with good explanations of the menu. We will be back!

Had a fantastic family lunch here. Great Sunday menu including great choices for younger diners - food they’re familiar with but with an Indian twist, excellent! Highly recommend the Thali, and they’re homemade India. I’ve cream is lovely. We will be visiting again.

We are very lucky in Hadleigh to have such a lovely restaurant as Mall Road. The service was excellent the food first class. A little bit different and more authentic than the usual chicken tikka masala and onion bhaji offerings. Highly recommended.

Absolutely brilliant. Waitress serving us was fantastic, so sweet, very friendly and professional. What an asset! Food was amazing, very good and more interesting than the usual Indian restaurant. Waitress also surprised us with a complimentary desert which had 'Happy Anniversary' written on the plate in a fruit gel. What a lovely thought! Superb service! Last minute decision to pop out and try this Indian, we were not disappointed. At first the menu seemed different but once the waitress explained it made it very clear. Both our starters and mains were lovely the prawn dish my partner had was the best prawn Indian dish she had ever tasted and my chicken was perfectly cooked. Excellent meal and great service. We will be returning.

Just not for us. Positives: Food is very fresh & it’s different from other Indian restaurants. Negatives: Food is too strongly flavoured for our liking even though we have a range of palettes & ordered a range of dishes. It’s expensive. It’s not your typical ‘English’ Indian restaurant & although they are now offering dishes that people are more used to ie korma, tikka masala, dhansak etc they still do not taste the same even though they are probably more authentic. We wish you well but do miss not being able to have a good quality ‘English’ Indian.

Very friendly, lamb was not overcooked, still had some pink and was very tender, soft naan, crispy and well balanced Samosas, the lamb dhansak had tender meat and a nice zing to it, even the rice was tasty! No post meal chocolate though!...but perhaps this did me a favour!

Went here following a recommendation from a facebook post and thought we would try it out. Staff were amazing and very attentive. They explained the menu and how spicy the dishes are etc as this is traditional indian food so is different from what we have eaten before. The food was amazing and we was glad to try the recommended dishes. We will definately be recommending this place to people. It was a pleasure to eat here 😋

We had a table booked tonight, Tuesday 14th march at 6.30pm for 9 of us and I just wanted to say how much we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. I've been to top Indian restaurants in London and this was better. The service is excellent and you are well looked after. Well worth a visit. We often visited a couple Indian restaurants in Leigh and after coming here we won't bother as this is now our favourite. I also visited with work colleagues in a group and everyone loved it! A hidden gem in Hadleigh! Top dishes: Lamb shank - special dish of the day (probably not always available but unbelievably tasty so hopefully it's regular one day) Paneer masala Coconut prawn curry Peshwari naan

Wow went there on Sunday the 4th dec our first visit but definitely not our last. Food was amazing fresh and tasty the chef and owner very friendly guy and passionate about his food the waitress was attentive and very friendly. I had chilli Garlic chicken the sauce was tasty lots of spices with the right amount of heat. The wife had biriyani which was plentiful and tasty. So, where do I start.... Firstly, I would take the reviews re Lidl's, small portions etc with a pinch of salt, I have never been to a fine dining restaurant that piles your plate high. If you are expecting a normal curry house experience, then this may not be the place for you. If you are expecting authentic Indian food that you may find in a 5* hotel in Dehli, then try Mall Road. The food is fantastic and a real culinary experience. I had the squid to start (something I would never have in a regular curry house) and it was outstanding, imagine thinly sliced squid rings presented in a delicate tempura batter and then experience the flavours of bombay mix tingling in your mouth. Mains were again superb, wife's Chicken Saag (happily changed from lamb on the menu) apparently was the best she has ever experienced. I had the Railway Curry which was lovely, the lamb melted in the mouth and the delicate flavours were stunning. At the end the chef owner Raju came out, introduced himself and asked how everything was, I thought that was a lovely touch. Finally, the people who are moaning about the price, this is not a regular curry house and yes, I did get a free beer with my curry, visit on a Wednesday night for their offers. I do have one criticism though, the menu is difficult to read, something that I am sure will change in the future when I return again !!

We collected food & when got home the underneath of takeaway containers were cold, so it appears food is NOT to be fresh cooked but prepared then frozen - could have got this from Lidl’s 🙄. This was a bit ‘London pricey’ ie. on the expensive side. If this new restaurant/takeaway is going to last, til after Christmas, amongst the local competition, even in our small village, they are going to have to up their game. Food was bland, portions were small, for price, food all same colour, & looks were uninspiring - menu looks impressive but failed to deliver on taste & content so unlikely to return.

It was stunning experience with Mall Road. All dishes were delicious with good quality. Service is extraordinary whatever you need they pick it up quickly. There’s no doubt one of the best restaurant in the whole Essex. Thank you all the staff. I will definitely come back again.

Having seen Mall Road had opened recently we thought we would give it a try. We were greeted with a smile and seated quickly and given some complimentary popodums. Drinks were ordered together with our food from the relatively small menu ( which was good as it made it easier to decide). The food we had was delicious and very tasty. But then came the Bill !! It's just too expensive we only had 2 pints and 2 halves , 2 starters and 2 mains with 2 sides and it came to £78.00. No complimentary drinks offered at the end or even mints with the bill. This was our first visit and will be the last due to the very high cost. If it were in London no problem but let's get real its Hadleigh Essex !

Where do I start. I walked in on their opening evening 4th Oct. The service is good, the food is great. This is a much, needed change to the usual Indian restaurants. The flavouring and tailoring to your own taste make's this close to perfect. I would recommend the Railway Lamb Curry, Aubergine side. I will be back to try other dishes
