Malinggo Nepalese Restaurant in Rushmoor

Popped in late one Saturday night - just wanted momos! Wasn’t disappointed! Great flavour and texture, chilli momo was fabulous. Pork momo with chutney also absolutely delicious. Can’t comment on service, atmosphere etc as we just got a takeaway however the live musician seemed to be going down a storm with the regulars. Takeaway service was prompt and food was very reasonably priced, portions were really large. Will definitely be back again to try more from the menu.

I used to find flavour in their food, But recently everything me and my wife ordered it seems to be laced with lots of chillies or chilli powder that almost mask the taste. They should change the chef in my opinion, Otherwise lots of customers are gonna turned away.

Good food, nice staff, hospitality is second to none.

Very disappointed, I ordered take-away (2 chicken and 1 Sukuti) chow mein. Unfortunately, authentic flavour of Nepalese chow mein was absent. It tested more like spaghetti or boiled noodles. Im not too sure the dish usually made in this typical way or the chef was not giving best on the day.

Service and atmosphere is alright but food is just alright

Visited this restaurant yesterday,where do I start..?We ordered 2 thakali thalis,momos , mutter paneer with chappatis,noodles (which was made with spaghetti)and cobra beer.Requested mutter paneer to be mild,after 5 minutes we were informed that they had run out of paneer,so agreed on veg curry minus chilli. First came momos which was good,followed by chappaties and after 5 minutes comes...yes mutter paneer not veg curry 😂and to our utter dismay it was loaded with chillies.When we complained they replaced it with black lentil dal which was very thin,by the time it arrived chappaties were stone cold,then came the noodles. After this,for the rest of the food, which were just two plates of thalis,it took one hour!Since we had ordered veg thalis,all it had was dal,vegetable, salad and rice.How can it take one hour to cook these small quantities of food? Service was atrocious and the food was mediocre!Food service was staggered, after first lot it took 10 then 60 minutes for food to arrive.We had a child with us,she was getting restless waiting for food to arrive,so we had to take her out.Of all the Nepalese restaurants in Aldershot, we seemed to have picked up the worst one,price wasn't cheap either! No apologies were offered!

First time buying from here as I was reluctant due to past mix reviews also as we used to go to different restaurant but as they only accept cash now for whatever reason I had to go with Malingo Restaurant this time but just realised now I was missing it big time! The food was for guests and family and we all loved it! Thank You Malingo and couldn’t recommend it more, we will be definitely seeing you more in future.

The worst Nepalese food I ever had….. I was served Daal instead of Momo sauce. It was more than a year when we ate there.

One of the worst meal ever I had. Chicken wings was like frozen chicken wings just taken from dipped fried. Sukuti was only name. It was not upto standard as it shows in the menu and the restaurant. It was stale and I recommend everyone not to have it. Its big NO NO restaurant.

Order lamb Tikka but they send lamb korma

Food was good but not great compared to other Nepalese restaurants. We ordered Momo, taas and sukuti chowmin. Noodle wasnt good, felt like tossed in hot sauce but rest of the order was great. Service was fast and friendly staff. Definitely 5 star service. Atmosphere is great. Suitable for big party event etc. Overall recommended. just don't order extra spicy chowmin 😭 PS: For non local, roadside parking Infront of the restaurant or multistorey parking which is 2-3 minutes walk and free after 6 pm.

Chilli chips- chips covered in sweet chilli sauce - soggy - would not recommend,chilli pannier - pannier covered in sticky chilli sauce - very nice, chilli pork momo - again sticky chilli sauce covered - very nice - chicken madras - it's ok , mix chow main- all ok however way is served ( fried egg on top) seem odd

This place is lacking the respect for people that live next door to them im reporting them to the council for their loudness and for their anti social behaviour from their customers i was stand out side my block of flats and 6 of their younger customers decided to start a fight with me for no reason what so ever i hope this place get shut do or i will start taking it higher the manger hides away from it all

Got caught without any food at work and couldnt face another Jaffa Cake on a 7 hour shift. I stumbled across Malinggo, saw they served thukpa and was sold. I ordered veg thukpa, chips chilli (my guilty indulgence) and aloo dum for leftover the next day. Oh. My. This food was the most delicious and the most authentic I've had outside of Kathmandu. Thukpa was think with noodles and veg. The added additions of the momo chutney, salad and nutty bean sambar (not sure what this is but ita lovely) were an absolute treat! Malinggo, you are addictive and I will be ordering many many times again. Thank you!

This place is a strict No-No for momos takeaway!! The tomato pickle (achaar) smelled stale. My family members including two children had diarrhoea after eating the takeaway momos. I called the restaurant to complain and the staff said sorry and dismissed my complaint straightaway. From this experience I am deeply concerned about their hygiene and very disappointed at how they handled the complaint. I am never going there again! 🫤

Good food but over spicy and my favourite bhatmas was really bad. I ordered 1 portion but ended with 3 portion.

A reasonably priced restaurant and good quality food. It’s nice to try something new and this establishment certainly gave us that! Service slightly slow but overall a pleasant experience.

Foods ok, not the best, pork chilli was over sauced which took the taste away, middle of our dinner- some customers come to dine and started to vape 💨 next to our table so I have had to leave as we were family with kids. If staff noticed it and done something could have been 4 ⭐️, decent singers 👏👏👏

My friend had taken us to Malinggo Restaurant (Nepali Restaurant) and I can’t thank them enough. The food was just delicious. Every dish was cooked to perfection and was just flavoursome. Highly recommend this restaurant if your somewhere near Aldershot/Guildford. Enjoyed eating Pani Puri, chicken Chowmein , diff kind of momos wow amazing taste. No compromise in Quality and Quantity 👌🏼. Special thanks to the management 🙏🏻🙏🏻 well served , very good hospitality. Thank you Pls visit u won’t regret.

Food was 45 mins late, the main dish was half the size of normal and in a crushed container.

From all currys in area one of the bottom. Chicken tikka prety much just bones, zero meat. Korma sauce more like pure water(or coconut milk) with zero nuts flavours. Only momo ok(thats what save you from zero stars) . If you want really small portions and overpaid curry maby you will like it, otherwise suges avoid.

Lovely Nepali food, can get super spicy if you ask them to make it spicy.. the momos are amazing, specially the chilli chicken ones! They have live music on weekends too! Severs were polite and helpful. Would highly recommend

I have ate here a few times now and will definitely be back. The staff are friendly and the food is excellent. The reviews on waiting times I personally ignore, if you want fresh cooked meals that are top quality then I am definitely prepared to wait on them being cooked fresh. Great place. 👌

Food is below average.There is no Nepalese taste at all,food taste all same. Momo was sad,Porkchill was pathetic.Please improve your cooking skills thank you.

The ambiance is really good on Friday's and Saturday's. You can also catch some live music and orchestra here on weekends. Food here is just fine. Could have been better.

Really impressed, the food is absolutely amazing! I think the rating it has on google is underrated. We were visiting the area and decided to have Nepalese food for dinner. We had: - Mango lassi - Mutton momos - Chilli Buffalo momos - and a thali plate with mutton curry It was really filling and we LOVED the momos, they were so flavoursome. Would definitely return next time. A criticism I have though is the bill does not correspond with the price list. Two of the items are 1£ more than listed. It’s not a major issue but I think it would be appreciated if the menu is updated to reflect the same.

Extremely slow service be it dine in or takeaway. Very bad service. He will tell you 5 mins but you will end up waiting an hour or so and he isn't even sorry about it. Does not seem at all worried about losing customer. Gave 1 star only for food which is decent otherwise I would have given 0 star.

I would have to say the actual best Nepalese serving restaurant in the Aldershot . Was at this establishment today and tried the food here and also the palace a minutes walk within the same time period and I would have to say I absolutely love the food here, compared to the other this is a must have experience restaurant and the food was just as you probably would in Nepal. I had Thalie’s at both place and this food here was an entire level better the palace. The rice was much softer and the dal and chicken side were much more tastier than compared the mediocre food at the palace.

Asked for chicken chowmin they packed pork it’s not about the money it’s about the trust.

Poor service!!! I made an order via telephone and was told to collect the order in 40 minutes. I arrived at the restaurant 50 minutes later. However my order was not ready! I was told to wait for 10-15 minutes, which eventually ended up being 40 minutes. So I had to wait 1.5 hours to receive my order. P.S. the food quality has degraded. Not going there again at all!!!!!

😘 Momos. Loved it. Despite being bit slow to serve, the consistency in taste and quality of Thali over the past couple of years has impressed me. Hats off to homely feeling of dish, Service and hospitality. Wonderful vibe, Bit too bright - everything glowing inside. However, if you do have time and want to enjoy a heavy food and starter - the place in Aldershot atm.

i went on this restaurant on tuesday,i ordered bhutan set and momos,momos was ok but bhutan set, puffed rice was so soft and black beans (bhatmas) was also so soft but i didnt say nothing, later i ordered one beer but the price was varied what on the menu and what they saying..the price they told me wasnot even in menu , and lastly customer service is so horrible, rude and disgusting, really disappointed

Having placed an order on deliveroo, I waited 20 minutes after the expected delivery window. At this point I called the restaurant and was told my order was being dispatched as we spoke. 45 minutes later, still no sign of the food, I call them again and I'm given the same story of it being sent now, no apology, when I complained they said they're not cancelling the order that's up to us, then pretty much hung up... the status of the order was changed to delivered... still no food though!

Friendly atmosphere, lovely staffs. We ordered few things……Pork momo, Sukuti Chowmin, Chatpatte, Jhir. Momo: It was delicious! full of flavours nice and juicy. (not dry) Sukuti chowmain: It was really tasty. Chatpate: chatpate was lush! many ingredients included in it. It was spicy and crunchy! Jhir was THE best! I would recommend this restaurant and would definitely go and eat again and again.

Awesome food with a very good setup

This is one of the worst restaurant I’ve ever encountered in my entire life. If you go in, you have to wait for ages to be served, food is ridiculous and service is like zero star. In regards to delivery or collection, basically, they are never on time. I have to wait one and half hour to get my order ready for collection. Is this a joke? Absolutely dissatisfied, disappointed and will never return there. STRONGLY NOT RECOMMENDED TO ANYONE..

Made an order from online through deliveroo and the food arrived very late. They missed some item and the puri I ordered, it was not even properly cooked. Overall, the service is poor and the food is overly priced.

26th July 2021- Went in with my family for a meal, i could see that the restaurant was clearly busy with influx of people coming in due to the Gurkha cup taking place near the vicinity of the location. At this point, it was the restaurant's discretion whether they wanted to accommodate more people coming in or to warn them off before hand,that services provided will be slower than ususal; so that the customer had the options to stay in or opt out. We came in at 0500 pm, placed our orders and played the waiting game. The starters came in after 45 minutes, it was unsatisfactory to say the least, everything felt very rushed, it wasn't at the level that you would expect from a restaurant that seems to be quite popular and has got positive reviews. After barely finishing our starters, we called out to our server and asked whether the main course was ready? he kept disappearing to the kitchen and kept coming back saying, "10 minutes" everytime we would ask him. By two hour point, we just had enough and asked to cancel the order and to just pay the bill. The guy who seemed like the owner came over and apologised for the delay and requested us to give them a little bit more time as they are completely swamped. Our main course came in after waiting for 2hr 35 minutes, again, it felt really rushed. I had ordered veggie thakali thali and my brother ordered chicken thakali thali, it was sub par to say the least, and to top it all off, my brother's chicken was half cooked still frozen on the inside. At this point, we didn't even finish our meal; we asked to pay the bill and just left. The funny thing in all of this was that, there were customers who came in behind us, who were served with their starters and main course before us. The interaction between the customer and the restaurant owner showed that these were regular customers. So, I guess favourtism plays a big part in getting your meal on time whether the restaurant is busy or not, even when you as a customer is paying for your own meal. Waiting to have your meal served for 2 and half hours is unheard of! I'm in support of small businesses in these trying times due to COVID, but practices like these will have adverse effect due to poor management.

This used to be our first choice whenever ordering, but recently it has been very disappointing. Missing an item twice, no papri in pari chat but only potatoes which looked like a plain aloo dum and having to call them for missing an item in our order, they asked us to claim it by going there instead of delivering it to us. All I wanted was my momo because I was hungry and angry. >:( For the momo that wasn't delivered to us, £3.99 donation for you guys.

Great food served by very helpful waiting staff at a very good price. The Tali especially is incredible value.

I think this is quite a busy bar /restaurant in the evenings - we went lunch time. Food is good. Don't be put off by the pizza sign. It's just Nepalese.

Although I have rated it 4 stars, could well progress onto 5 stars provided owners don't go complacent. As it is, Malingo is my number one choice for Nepali food in Aldershot and I hope they maintain the same level or even review their menu on a regular basis. Well done and best wishes.

Place looks a bit bish bosh with decorating and repairs all over the place. Band set up for a Saturday night and don't really think you could eat with a full band playing about 5 metres away. Food is amazing on the starters but the curry were awful using boiled cheap chicken, service a little slow but really friendly staff.

The food wasn’t as expected !! But yea u can get that Nepali taste though !!

Very worse service didnt get my food till 1hr i am waiting for 1 hour and they didnt serve me anything.later i have to go counter and complain they didnt respond nicely.i wont recommend this resturant.
