Exceedingly disappointed after trying Malik's for the first time, and will be avoiding this in future. Not only was the service ridiculously slow with over 40 mins between courses, the seating was cramped, and the attitude of the head waiter towards other staff was unpleasant. The food is overpriced for the quality of what you receive, and food arrived over salted with so much ghee it left a bad taste for the rest of the evening. Considering we didn't have any drinks, over £100 for 3 people seemed a bit excessive for the poor quality and service. Not for us and overall an unhappy experience in a poorly run establishment.

My wife and i dined at Malik's last Thursday evening(19/09/2024). We had a very warm welcome from all the staff,that we saw.Great choice of food from the menu.The food and service was excellent through out the time we were there. We will definatly return and recommend others to try,from a very satisfied customer. Nick Hoare.

Thoroughly enjoyed the food in here. Very good choice and they are also happy for you to go off piste. I’d say the quality is very good. Nice service and very pleasant atmosphere. Refreshing change to find a good Indian in the South outside of London.

Return to Malik's. A charming small restaurant (it is not disparaging !) in the beautiful town of Marlow. Service very nice and attentionate. Food is very good. All cooked fresh and piping hot. Excellent pappadum with delicious sauces that I don't eat usually. I tried new plates. Tandoori chicken nazakat, excellent. The persian lamb with lentils which disappeared in the sauce, less convincing. Worth another visit.

Return to Malik, a small restaurant (it's not disparaging !) in the beautiful town of Marlow. The service is excellent, warm and attentionate. The food is very good. The pappadum are excellent and the sauces which I usually avoid are superb. Everything is served piping hot and obviously freshly cooked. I wanted to choose dishes I did not know. I tried the nazakat chicken tandoori, a real discovery ; I was less convinced by the persan dish of lamb with lentils, couldn't really taste the lentils which disappear in the sauce. I did really hesitate to put excellent. But, it is not as it is advertised the best Indopakistani Bangladeshi in England. Notwithstanding, I will gladly return.

Maliks is great Indian food and our standard choice for dine in or take away. We enjoy the papdoms and chutney to start. Then a peshwari naan with Chicken Jalfreizi, Shaslik or Tikka Masala depending on the mood. The Jalfreizi is HOT, as expected. The staff are always nice. Sometimes there are delays on take away so it is always best to call and confirm. Overall highly recommended Indian food!

Stayed in Marlow and fancied a curry. Found this little restaurant. Ambience was ok, service felt rushed. Biggest disappointment was the main course. Starters were ok. As a connoisseur of chicken jalfrezi I can honestly say this was one of the saltiest I’ve ever tasted. My wife had a chicken biryani that was built up with cauliflower florets and lengths of carrots, tomato wedges and chunks of courgettes. So disappointing, would not recommend.

Poor grainy food and they try to hide the service charge amongst the bill

Delicious meal, massala monk fish was so fresh and tasty, prawn dish was perfectly spiced too. We will definitely be back.

While ordering the Goan fish curry from Marlow Maliks tonight, my partner and I were really disappointed as the dish did not match the description. We expected monkfish but received a mushy, overcooked cod like texture quite different from the usual dense, meaty quality of monkfish - 100% what we received was not monkfish. Upon contacting the restaurant, we encountered rudeness and skepticism, with the staff dismissing our concerns. Notably, a similar issue was raised in a recent Google review just a day before our experience. Despite bringing this to the restaurant's attention, they showed no interest in addressing or resolving the matter and were aggressive and rude to us. This disappointing encounter, coupled with unprofessional customer service, has left us reconsidering our loyalty to Maliks after being customers for over a decade. We regretfully won't be returning.

In my opinion the two monk fish dishes ordered were in fact not monkfish and were probably cod or similar

Worst food we have ever had! Paneer cheese was off, asked for food not to be spicy and everything was spicy including the mushroom rice, we left the most of the dishes and had to go spend time looking for another place to eat and it was a complete rip off! They said next time we will give you nice food however we explained the reasons we would not be returning. To top it off the place is tiny with no ventilation and you come out absolutely stinking of curry as the chargrilled smoke and curry smell fills the small sitting area.

I went to Maliks for the first time in marlow after having a few wonderful meals in their Gerrards cross brand. It was a special occasion taking out a dear friend who I hadn’t seen in a long time. The food was absolutely exceptional but the customer service was anything but… grumpy, rude, impatient and after saying thank you whilst paying our waiter just looked and grumbled at us. So will most definitely not be going back, especially after spending a lot of money.

Happened to come across Malik’s and had a lovely early evening meal. Staff were cheerful and friendly. Our meal arrived quickly and we’re pleased with the presentation and of course the taste. Would happily recommend and visit again, if we were in the area in the future.

Unfortunately the food isn’t great. Tandoori chicken was dry and clearly reheated. Lamb also dry with undercooked onions and tomatoes. All round disappointing and there are better Indian options locally.

We had a great dinner here. We wanted a traditional indian meal, without any fusion gimmicks and so on. The food was very fresh, service attentive and we enjoyed the historic building. A really good option in Marlow.

After 36 hours we both have very bad stomachs and guess it’s food poisoning. Feel terrible and v sick. Thanks to Maliks Marlow. Our takeaway was cold, oily, dry meat, over cooked bread, totally cold and inedible. We had a few spoonfuls and it went in the bin! £65 for two people, three dishes, one bread, complete rip off for a very poor English/Indian takeaway. Nothing authentic about it. No spices, herbs… pretty disgusting. I only ate the dhal and vegetables so good knows how you can make someone sick with just that and no meat.

Food was below average, some of it cold and oily. Bread was over cooked dry and cold. Mixed grill had a portion. Green curry bland and mainly potato’s. Delivery quick but order again. Waist of £60

The food was disappointingly average and the Butterchicken below expectation. Table layout nice with the linen cloth but the waiter struggled with comprehension. Toilet needs updating. The bill didn’t outline clearly the service charge was already incorporated.

The food is nice here but definitely over priced and not worth the prices they are charging. The waiter ( a young man ) was absolutely lovely, polite and helpful, however the older man ( possibly the owner or manager ) was extremely rude to the younger waiter on numerous occasion all within earshot of customers, which I found to be disrespectful and embarrassing for the waiter, this is something that needs to be addressed. Service charge added amongst other items on the bill, we would of been happy to have left a tip

Unbelievable-eaten inside and ok so thought to try take away just got back from holiday so thought we'd try some starters and some bread -got it home no sauces or salad - rang and queried and they said you have to order separately! We have eating curry's for 30 years never had this - profiteering as it seems to be going In all aspects - will never go there again

I’d heard great things about the food but my experience was really average with top end prices. Food was so oily. Some meat was dry. Only one waiter spoke enough English to understand requests therefor had to wait for him throughout our meal. 5 adults £440 without starters / deserts I expected better.

Incredibly overpriced. Average food (could have got better dishes on a takeaway for £35 comfortably), but ended up spending £41pp and only had a small beer each, and one side between 2. Shocked when the bill came. Service was chaotic at the best of times, not exactly attentive in what is a fairly small restaurant (with 3 staff to boot).

Maliks in Marlow for some reason is not consistent with the Maliks in Cookham which by the way is very good. The prawns tasted far gone and the chicken very oily. Just a poor experience bring back Don Lorenzo… If you like curry I would visit Maliks in Cookham. Give this one a swerve

Really lovely food, bit different from the norm. Service was swift, food was great, both starters and mains. Plenty of it too. Prices are a bit steeper than your standard Indian, but I guess we’re in the middle of Marlow. But it didn’t detract. The most amazing Garlic Naan bread, tasty, thin and slightly crispy.

I visited with a friend last week. The staff were positively rude! I ordered a chicken tikka only to have the skillet put on the table with no table service. At the prices they charge you would expect to be served the dish? The staff don't interact and can barely speak English. Very small portions for the price you pay. At the end of our meal we ordered coffee's only to be told the coffee machine was out of order! I mean really? The bill came to nearly £90. Feeling ripped off is an understatement. I shall not be returning!

Really disappointed, 2nd time we’ve ordered takeaway and had to wait over 45mins beyond the specified 1 hour delivery time. (ordered at 1645 so hardly peak time). When called to query where our food was it was obvious they’d lost the order. Won’t be bothering with Maliks Marlow again. Doesn’t matter how good the food is the rubbish customer service combined with top-end pricing just doesn’t make it worth it.

Lovely curry. High price. Worth it. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal at this fine establishment. I enjoyed; lamb Rogan, chicken rice and cheese naan. Every bite was delicious and staff was friendly. Not big a huge fan of when waiters try to force items onto you (the Indian veg) but apart from that, they were very nice. Only downside is, it is expensive and normally I wouldn’t pay that much for food, however, it is worth it if you’re a fan of Indian food.

Was recommended this place so we popped in to ask when last ordered were- they said 10.30pm so we said we would be back at 9.30pm after a quick drink. We called later on to say we were running 10 minutes late and wouldn’t be long which they said was fine.Once we turned up, the table wasn’t laid, we were thrown cutlery, plates etc at the end on the table which we had to hand out ourselves- they were clearly not happy about having to serve us at 9.45pm.Given the menu and asked to order less than 2 minutes later- when we said we weren’t ready he said “you need to be quick as the chef is driving to London!” -I wish at this point we had walked out but we kindly reminded them that they had informed us that they said last orders were 10.30 at which point the waiter just walked off.The whole meal was so rushed, had the waiter over our shoulder with arms crossed the whole time making it so uncomfortable... also taking plates from the table as people were still eating which we really didn’t appreciate.After taking all of our plates, he threw down some hot flannels with the bill and stood by us with the card machine and asked us to pay straight away- no offer of anything else... we paid and he then continued to make us feel very uncomfortable by standing over us as we finished our wine.Left feeling very disappointed with our rushed meal. It wasn’t cheap and we expected better service. If he felt it was too late to service, I would rather they had said and we could have found somewhere else then receive service like this. So many better Indian restaurants in Marlow with 100% better service. Really put a downer on our one night in Marlow, wouldn’t recommend.

After reading the reviews we thought we would try Maliks. Firstly we were told it would be ready in 35 minutes for collection, so we went on time to pay and collect and was told it would only be 5 minutes. 35 minutes later we complained and was told its on its way. After another 10 minutes our order arrived. They obviously only started to cook it once we had paid. We would have paid in advance if they had asked. My daughter had a mixed grill and the chicken was raw, blood red in the middle. We walked back and they refunded the mixed grill and an apology but it should never of happened if they hadn't of rushed our order. They were very quick to take the offending chicken away from us but we have photo evidence of it. Hopefully my daughter won't have food poisoning in the morning. We have only had a great experience in Marlow but give this place a miss!!!!!

Amazing authentic Indian restaurant in the centre of Marlow. The portion sizes are great and the range of meals is extensive. Fully recommended and worthy of all their awards.

Throughout the pandemic we have had many takeaways which every time have been delicious and very fresh. Just like being in the restaurant, excellent food, delivery service. Highly recommended. Sharon and Steve Marlow Bottom.

Loved our second Malik’s since they’ve reopened w/ covid safety restrictions. We always collect as only live down the road. Food is warm & tasty...jalfrezi (prawn & chicken) is yummy & spicy (unlike most places when I have to add extra chilli), naan is soft & rice is fluffy. A treat for the senses!! Would have given 5 stars but got 3 delightful sides we didn’t pay for but welcomed - mango chutney, raita & onion salad - to accompany poppadoms...but no poppadoms. Last time got poppadoms (didn’t order but...again welcomed and no sides). Anyway...would recommend for taste value!!

Have just had 2nd excellent Takeaway delivered in 2 weeks. Paid for order over phone and delivery was fast and safe. All dishes were fresh and tasty. Highly recommend!

My brother and I had come to Marlow for the first time in a few years and had already eaten food from the Tiger Garden, which was exceptionally nice. This evening we decided to try Malik's. To be clear we are in a rented property a very short walk from the restaurant. Each one of the food containers was covered in sauce when we took them out of the bag. The onion bhajis were dripping with fat and in fact, the whole meal had a greasy flavour and was less than appetising. Not good value at all and not only will we not use Malik's again, we will discourage others.

We decided to order a takeaway as they are now delivering, however it was 30 minutes late...The staters were OK but the lamb byriani at £14 was lacking in lamb and the vegetable curry container was less than half full (see the picture). The chicken tikka masala was tasty but again lacking in meat and just filled up with sauce...The total bill was £38.50 for a simple takeaway. A shame we didn’t totally enjoy it as it was a treat... we have been self isolating for 35 days.... we used to enjoy Malik’s but....

Ate here on Tuesday. Because of all the issues obviously empty. However staff brilliant and outstanding food. One of the best curries I have eaten. Certainly the best nan bread. Exceptional. I do wish them well in these uncertain times
