I have to say, this was the most interesting coffee stop I’ve experienced. Excusing the 80’s decor, which is quite comical and endearing in a Victorian seaside town, the set-up of this establishment is somewhat unique. On arrival there was no covid secure guidelines in place, no masks being work by staff, no sanitiser on arrival and no one way system. We ordered two cream teas, now, given we are in Devon, famous for fresh produce, pastry and good food, the last thing I expected was a microwaved scone as you watched. The score was supermarket bough, and yes microwaved (in case you didn’t read right first time) and the clotted cream, cheap thaw and serve. Equally the cheap Jam (from Brakes) was not what I expected. Come on, it’s a decent venue, put some effort into what your serve. For £5 tea and scone you could locally buy scones (sold at the bakery down the road) and buy some local cream or jam with provenance from one of the local food markets. Really could make more of an effort. On the plus side the cakes did look like effort had been made but didn’t try.

I popped in with my sister yesterday and we had coffee and a snack. We were greeted at the door by a really lovely young woman and shown to a table in the window where we could watch the world go by. Everything was perfectly clean and all the Covid rules were adhered to. The food and drinks were good and every member of staff was so pleasant and friendly. We'll definitely go back and we highly recommend this place.

Poor food, scones on the devon cream tea were so dry, the cream tasted more like butter than clotted cream so disappointed I just left them. Inside looks like it hasnt been touched since the 70s and it shows, so run down. And the toilets were the dirtiest toilets I've seen for a long time with mould growing on the dirt plastered on the walls. Would definitely skip this place

We popped into this cafe after the heavens decided to open and we needed somewhere to grab a bite to eat. It was a nice little place with a friendly waitress who helped me take my lunch to my table. The Cornish pasty was tasty and we had a nice hot chocolate that went with it. It was worth the price and a nice little stop off.

Terrible experience, food basic, cleanliness awful, toilets disgusting. Staff not interested, manager (Ali) very rude to customers and staff. We had cheesy chips = there was green mould on the cheese. I had the cream tea, the clotted cream pot was on it's sell by date, and the scones were defrosted in the microwave - the inside was still frozen. No wonder this has a food rating of 1 - I did phone the council to check!! - They do not display their rating - no wonder really. This used to be an iconic restaurant in Paignton - not now. Their other business is a kebab shop - also without a food rating.!!

Food was good and reasonably priced, typical cafe menu and food. What’s sets this apart is the wonderful view from the terrace, we could have spent ages up there watching boats and jet skis in the sunshine

Food has just arrived 45mins late. Was originally estimated to be delivered at 18:15 then time kept getting pushed back. (Not a major issue) biggest problem is it's cold. Fries are chewy, pizza soggy. Now when the order said it was out for delivery it arrived 2 mins later, so don't know if it was stuck with the delivery driver for ages or not. Still very disappointing after spending £50 on an order

Excellent coffee and service. Please commend the staff for their care and service to an elderly customer. They were always caring and considerate. It was a joy to visit whilst i was on holiday in Torquay.

The woman that just served me was so miserable, rolling her eyes at my kids trying to decide what to eat even though there was no one behind us! The youngest decided quite quickly that he wanted a bmt, then she said he couldn't have that with a kids pack and she huffed when he then couldn't decide something else immediately - I wouldn't even decide that quickly! She got 3 out of 4 sandwiches wrong (toasted a sandwich that wasn't meant to be, did a 12 inch that was meant to be 6 inch and my older sons 6 inch was the same size as the youngest's 4 inch). She needs to learn how to bloody smile and have some manners!
