Been using this take away for 38 years when the old fella was running it. It has deteriorated now. I was told the delivery would be 50 minutes to an hour. I phoned after an hour and was told it would be another 10 to 15 minutes. The order was half cold and the chicken portion on one of the dishes was small. Shame, because the food is actually very nice but it isn't worth the bother any more. Plenty more Indian take always in the area. You need to step up your service or you'll lose more customers.

This was a brilliant takeaway. Had a meal before xmas that was excellent weve had 2 meals since and each one has got consistantly worse. No taste, all sauce and no meat. Very poor quality and a lot of money for a sauce.

Food quality is not at all good. Why don't you call your restaurant as a Sweet mart. All curries are sweet like desert. One of the worst food I have ever had in my entire life. I bet no one can have more than one bite of any of the curry.

Try their butter chicken for dessert. Normal coke is less sweetened than their butter chicken. PATHETIC.

I ordered chicken curry, instead they gave me yogurt. I called them up about this issue, staff were very rude and unprofessional when I asked them for a refund. Never buying from here again.

Portions are plentiful but flavour is very mild for most dishes.

I ordered a mixed starter and was very disgusted to find a 100% processed rubber type sheek kebab which you buy frozen from the local asian shops. I can't believe they have stopped making fresh sheek kebabs with fresh mince meat. Also the lamb Tikka was not made fresh it was very dry and chewy, the chicken Tikka is poor quality, they are now using the water injected chick breast. It's a shame this takeaway is going downhill. Not good quality food anymore. Please avoid ordering the sheek kebab it's NOT REAL!

Thoroughly enjoyed, reasonably priced and the vegetable curry was very nice. Small spillage in bag, but easily fixed.

A truly disgusting and disappointing experience and we will never order from here again!! After waiting more than 1 1/2 hours for our food to be delivered, it turned up cold, oily and tasteless! The King Prawn Puri was like hunt the prawn and the bread it was wrapped in was greasy!! The Bhindi Baji (or okrah) was flavourless and my chicken shashlik was cut into tiny pieces of chicken that were dry and overcooked!! Warning - think twice before order from here!!!!!!

1st time ordered. Chucked the food away after my 1st bite. Called to complain, and the person on the phone said that they only cater for English people, who have no taste. What an absolute shocker to hear that.

I have purposely used other take away recently because the food is getting more and more boring and flavourless. Not to mention the portion sizes. Hardly any meat and all sauce and onions. I ordered a delivery tonight and was told 1hr. 1 and 1/2 hrs later, no food. I phoned and a girl answered who told me it will be 5 minutes. 20 minutes later, the food arrived after a total of 1 hr 40 minutes. Guess what, the food was stone cold. So, I put it in the oven to warm up and phoned to say the food was cold and I wont be using them again, only to get defensive reply from the girl saying the food shouldn't be cold. Well, dont argue with me girly. I'm the one with the cold foil trays!!! And yes, it was pretty tasteless again!!! No more!!!

Never again. No taste or spices. Seems to cater to a certain type of local old customers who like bland korma type dishes. Late delivery (2hrs) and i live 5min away. Naans very chewy like frozen and defrosted not made fresh. All 3 curries ordered tasted the same and oily and chicken tikka masala is revolting and was chucked after no one touched. 6 family members had a go at me for wasting money and ruining their Saturday night dinner. Lamb in curry very chewy. First and last time. Better local alternatives.

Nothing of note in the taste, poppadom fried in rancid oil that may not have been changed for a while and to top it, gave me diarrhoea.... Bhindi was ok though....

Either new management or chef, but we did n't like in past at all but now completely different, Excellent quality of food. Fresh food highly recommend their biryani and chicken madras. Also request how spicy you'd like as they do accomodate to your taste buds! Awsome will definitely order again! One of the best in ares⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Got awful food poisoning from here beware!!!

My family have been eating from here for over 20 years but I have to say they have lost our custom now! The last few takeaways we׳ve had have been way below a good standard. The last time a £3 starter dish was missing which they denied & insisted they had packed but the dish was not there! This time the Tarka daal was like a watery soup as there were no lentils in it! The lamb chops had barely any meat on them & were burned badly; not tandoori style! We returned the food & the restaurant owner's attitude was disgusting! He was shouting that that was how daal should be! He was so rude! We insisted that we had been eating daal for years & daal should always have lentils in it!! I'm actually trembling as I type as the proprietor was so rude & abusive to me! £25 down the toilet! Never again!!! Avoid at all costs! I'm in shock!

Food good, delivered in reasonable time - garlic chilli chicken and peshwari naan, combination made in heaven:) Lamb bhuna a little mild after the chilli chicken - a dish too far? but that's my poor ordering rather than a fault of restaurant, plenty of meat in the portions and seems to be pretty good quality, and good flavour to all dishes, highly recommend them. I previously used them for 10 years and after changes of chef I moved on to other take-aways, but decided to give them another try after a few years break and very glad I did.

The worst food I have ever had. Waste of money

When we first started to order from Gandhi the food quality and service was excellent. However these last two orders, both times the food was late (over 1 hr wait) and the food was well below average. The complimentary popadoms were clearly fried in very very old oil - disgusting. Forget the fact that I wasted money, I hate chucking away food as there are many starving people in the world but this time it all went into the bin. Poor poor poor. I hope this is only blip and Mahatma Gandhi can resume to serving great dishes. Very very unhappy :-(

The food and speed of delivery were brilliant. Unfortunarly, the drinks were missed from the order however money was refunded there and then on the doorstep.

This is the second time I have used "Just Eat" for this takeaway and will thoroughly recommend them to anyone that wants hot, fresh and tasty food.

The king prawn korma was terrible it was watered down and full of oil. Could not eat it wasted. Not happy with the food but the delivery man was ok. Came before expected delivery time

Always consistently good. The Bangla Fish Curry is excellent and the Prawn Patia is a definite recommendation. Very nice delivery guy too and the food is always piping hot.

just a little thing to complain really, i ordered last night from mahatma gandhi, and i was VERY disappointed, i ordered a kulfi ice cream and they said to type in the flavour, so i asked for mango.... they obviously didnt have mango HOWEVER they didnt phone me to ask what flavour i would like or if i´d like to cancel it, instead they sent me a pistachio flavour, now i dont like pistachio so i wasted money... ALSO i find it very wrong because if i was allergic to nuts they would have just taken my money and sent me to my death!!!!! also they food wasnt that nice at all, the poppadoms tasted like cardboard!

I always judge a take-away by the Prawn Pathia and this is one of the best - loads of prawns and tasty sauce - truly sweet and sour and not just hot. The lamb bhuna is also great. Portions are generous and little free extras like pappadums and raita and onion salad come as a nice surprise.

The meal was the best I´ve had since my move from Manchester in 2007. The lam was succulent and the Bhuna sauce was full of flavour and not ghee. It restored my faith in take away food. I cannot praise this restaurant high enough as BEST does not cover it.
