Great Indian restaurant - loved the atmosphere and the food (and the inventive twists in it).

Rubbish food, definitely stay away. Tasteless, overpriced, small portions and service was appalling. Felt like they were just throwing food on the table, and rushing the billing. Ruined my birthday evening.

Amazing place, was here for a friends birthday and it was just great. Food was delicious and the mood was live. Would definitely recommend.

Amazing g food and atmosphere. We had the LD Thali, chicken lollipop, masala chips, milkshakes, mocktails and mix grill. The best by far was the chicken biriani, delicious!

Saffron street is an amazing Indian restaurant that me and my family have had the pleasure of visiting in the past year. And i would say we have been excited to visit every single time. It is honestly difficult to find a halal, hygienic Indian restaurant with good portions in London and that is why Saffron Street is such a precious location. I look forward to visiting again in the future

Walked in with a pre booking for iftar. It is almost an hour since i broke my fast with water and still waiting for food. The stuff doesn't seem too bothered.

The food is quite good some are way better than the others. The Nihari Biryani, Garlic naan, Masala chips, Bao bun, kheer and lucknow thali are really yummy the thali can be shared as well. However, the noodles, Pani puri and bamboo biryani needs more flavour. The atmosphere is very tasteful and the theatrics are impressive, but it requires more space a bit tight like tables are way closer to each other. The staff can be amazing at times and there are days they seem judgy. So I have been there a few times and it has been mixed but I still think it is a very good place to grab something for lunch.

In a nutshell, the service and food quality was poor. It took 40 mins for someone to take our order after being seated. We even called over someone twice to ask them if they could take our order, but they hadn't. The food itself was bland and tasteless. We ordered: chili paneer which wasn't chilli, dahi puri which just tasted like dhai and no other flavour, masala chips that weren't masala but ketchup and vinegar and samosa chaat which was the only decent thing becauae it had some spices. Similar note as before, we waited with our plates finished for 30 mins but no one came to check on us or clear up, so we decided to go to the front desk to pay and leave.

We really enjoyed our visit, and family members who were visiting for the first time were very impressed! I love the selection of tasty food and drinks! Looking forward to our next visit!

Worst food. Ordered momos, they gave precooked that too burnt in heating process. Completely tasteless momos they gave.

Not happy with the customer service at all! Got shoved out because there were customers at the door waiting to be seated. Was rushed the entire time we sat there eating, and not to mention our table was told to leave whilst others that had been there for far longer remained seated and undisturbed. Next time you're gonna book people, don't overbook and certainly don't have people booked straight after each other. Absolutely appalling.

Went for iftar yesterday and food was so good. Service was very attentive and didn't even charge service charge at the end of the bill like many other restaurants would. They didn't fob you off or forget when reminded. Bao Buns slightly on the expensive side though, two for £12!

My recent visit to the restaurant was disappointing, to say the least. The service provided was the worst I've encountered. The manager seemed to be pressuring the wait staff to rush customers out, even when it wasn't close to the two-hour mark. This was particularly upsetting as we were there to celebrate a birthday. When I questioned the manager about the rush, his response was dismissive, stating that others were waiting. It was disheartening to witness the manager's willingness to prioritize turning tables over allowing seated customers, especially those celebrating special occasions, to enjoy their meals in peace. Furthermore, the manager's attitude was notably rude and lacking in any semblance of kindness. As for the food, it was mediocre at best. The curries and BBQ dishes lacked variety, with each dish seemingly boasting the same colour and flavour profile. Overall, my experience left much to be desired, and I am unlikely to return in the future.

My third time at this restaurant, and it's always very good! The food is delicious, the drinks are also very good ( Mocktail), the staff are polite and attentive. Well located, just 1 minute from the metro station. I will come back and recommend.

I love the food at Saffron street and the reason being mild not leaving the flavours. Must try - Lasooni Murgh Tikka and Sholay wings. Parota is very flaky and nice. I love their sizzling brownies.

The food was amazing, great presentation, taste, and portion. However, it was very busy, only one staff members taking orders. Those who wish more privacy during eating will not get that here. Overall great food and experience.

Okay, So went to Saffron street and we thought all it has got good word of mouth publicity. We went on a week day at around 4. The restaurant was almost empty when we reached. We were greeted by a woman at the reception. I told her I have booked a table for 4 and we would like to sit by the window. She looked at me with a disgust and said ' no, we can't do that'. I said well the restaurant is almost empty and there is a seat near the window. She said it is a 6 seater. I said so what? She said no, you will have to sit here, pointing at a seat somewhere in the middle. I said well it's okay if we sit on the six seater. you can remove two chairs. She said it's not about the chairs, it's about the set up. There were only two glasses and two plates which she would have had to remove. When I insisted she reluctantly let us sit near the window. All I want to say, something as banal as a seat near the window has spoiled our mood right at the beginning of what could have been a pleasant experience on our special day. We ( my husband and my two young children) were bit amazed on what was the fuss about. Also the food is pretty average. It is presented well. That's about it. The dosa is full of onions and seekh kababs have tons of orange food colour in it ( God knows why). Their naans are pretty average. The only thing we thought was good was Pani puri- bit overpriced but not bad at all . In a restaurant we go to eat GOOD food but more importantly we all want to eat good food served by pleasent people. Food was great. Would recommend the birria tacos and butter chicken. Moderate portions. All food was halal. Would suggest to book in advance. We managed to get a booking last minute. Food was served quite quickly especially when busy. Friendly and accommodating staff. Interior is very pretty and aesthetic. Nice for families and kids. Great service and great food

The food and service is really nice. I like not too sweety drink and the waitress recommended me Limbu Sherbet which suits my taste. I had an enjoyable dinner here.

The food here is delicious, we ordered multiple starters, mains and a couple of deserts. They all came out very swiftly even though the restaurant was extremely busy on a Friday night. The service here is fast, friendly and straight to the point. The portions are a good size, especially the mains, we ordered biryani and this was a great size but also highly tasteful. The desert options could do with some more choices and the portions can be improved however, still very tasty. If you're in the town and looking for a great place to eat, with a craving for good spices - head over to Saffron Street, it's a good experience. 8.8/10

Our server Atish was absolutely amazing! We took our family who had never been to Saffron Street before and Atish was very patient with questions about the menu. He also gave us advice when we weren’t sure what to choose. When one of the dish wasn’t to my mum’s liking, Atish went above and beyond and offered an alternative version to make sure she was satisfied. Atish regularly came to check that we were enjoying our meal, and at the end was offering takeaway boxes for any leftovers, which was very helpful. Of course, the food was amazing too, and seeing the amount of care that goes into presentation is always a delight, but our experience with Atish really was a highlight of our weekend.

No that great,food is average tasted! Drinks are great..but the biryani was dry. Ambience and decor was lovely

Been at Saffron Street many times now, with friends and family. Great food and service every single time. My favourites are the Bao Bun and the Prawn Chattinad, excellent dishes. The desserts too are really good, Rasmalai cake, i love it!! Above all, the service is really good. You have the option to book online, the team is very understandable when you running late, give them a call to let them know. Excellent food and service, keep it up!! Will be back again!!

Had been to the one in Leicester and really enjoyed it, so tried my local one. Lovely staff, nice space, great food. Go. Went again, was better than I remembered. Turns out Gants Hill is the mothership - food, staff, ambience were great! Go!

Have been to Saffron Kitchen before and thoroughly enjoyed it, excellent food.. So I was told this is also one of their branches under the name of Saffron Street.. Great food good service polite staff.. A little cramped seating wise, but the food made up for that. Definitely Recommend this place. 🥰

I visit the restaurant every two weeks to have a meeting with my uncle.The food is amazing, I have gained a relationship with each and every individual. They treat us with the up most high respect. We also Come to see the workers aswell. Jigar and sreepesh are great managers I have ever seen. Very well spoken, aware of all the surroundings in the restaurant give excellent customer service and make the workers feel just as important. It would be great to give the guys Some sort of certificate of achievements as it will be well deserved. The last time I visited they gave me a small birthday cake with a candle. Service can’t be compared.Thank you for always making us welcomed

Decor and service really good. Starters wise Bao Buns were v nice but overpriced for the portion size. Momo’s were nice too. Nihari Biryani was great. Chengazi Chicken was not worth it. V basic curry. Fried Falooda was ok. Baklawa sandwich was more to our liking.

Amazing food and a great environment. I love their Thaalis, Nihari Biryani and their Tacos. I’m not impressed with their Karhai but everything else that I’ve tried is top class. If you’re a big group and want to try various dishes then go for their Thaalis. My fav one is their Chandi Chowk to China Thaali.

The butter chicken and pilau rice tasted amazing! The perfect combination. The garlic naan was also very tasty, it wasn't too thick, so it complemented the other dishes very nicely. Above all, the staff were very welcoming and friendly. Would definitely recommend. Thank you!

Most authentic and amazing variety of food. Each dish was absolutely delicious. We tried the thalis, Chandini chowk to China and lucknowi darbar and the mixed grill with masala chips. Each dish was bang on with the right amount of spices. Service was 10/10, food came in just 10 mins. We had the best time and best food. Highly recommended. It's a must visit if you are a good Asian food lover. Thankyou Saffron Street.

The brownie sizzler was impressive, was like a show as well as an eating experience!

Another variant of Saffron Kitchen, which is always a good place to eat. It is pricey though, average meal for two is a minimum of £50. Food is clean, we always order Masala Chips and it's generally a nice meal. Did order a tea this time, and it came in the same cup as a Mojito, which wasn't great and on par with the rest of the jazz of the restaurant. Also, for £15, the portion of Lamb was small and disappointing. We had to ask for Salad which should have come with the meal as standard given it's just onions and a small cucumber thrown in, but credit to the waiter, he did facilitate and brought a small bowl over.

Booked for 20 people was a get-together party. We loved the food & drink and overall excellent customer service. We'd love to go back again for the food.

Had a light lunch; my friend had the dosa and I the chicken naan. Both were delicious. The waiter was friendly and didn't hover, like some do. However, both our chais were not steaming hot, and tasted rather boiled/stewed.

Upon our arrival the staff had already prepared a ramp at the entrance for my wheelchair. This really impressed me as I wanted to have a special day out with my daughter and my best friend and they made it so smooth and they were incredibly warm and professional. Just the best restaurant in Greater London. I travel from Croydon to visit this place! So I don't do it often but I just need an excuse whenever there's a family get together or we have visitors we want to impress, this is the place to go.

It used to be good but went there yesterday had a horrible experience. Masala chai was so bad - it was just terrible… was told it’s made with ready made masala and in a machine. Mocktails were terrible too- really sweet and not flavoured. The vada pao was abysmal. Masala chips and normal chips were okay. I didn’t even dare to order mains as the starters were terrible… went elsewhere to have food. Service was okay and I wasn’t charged for the tea as I asked them to take it back so that was the only good part.

The food was amazing and the general vibe of the restraint and decor was fantastic.The restaurant itself is quite big and well lit and the staff was very attentive.We were seated and served promptly and the food did not disappoint.The masala chips were hot and fluffy with the perfect ratio of sweet and spicy and the lychee ginger collie and strawberry mojito were very refreshing and fruity.The most spectacular dish was the shakahari thalli as the daal was very well seasoned and delicious and all meat dishes were very tender and flavourful.The variety of dishes was great and they were all cooked to perfection.The cinnamon doughnuts were nice and soft and I opted for pistachio ice cream instead of vanilla which was nutty and creamy.The rasmalai cake was very rich and decadent and melted in my mouth.Would highly recommend as it is very clean and had great food and service.

Very nice place but the table was dangerously wobbly, they basically said you can have the table or theres nothing we can do for you. How can a place this busy and this good let themselves down with wobbly tables? We sat on the table all the way at the back of the restaurant near the kitchen infront of the bar. We made a reservation and visited on 24th Nov 2023. Our bill came to £139.

Went here for a meal for the first time with my wife and the food was amazing. Service was very quick, although we had to wait a little while even though we had reserved a seat, simply because the restaurant was extremely busy on a Saturday. We ordered Masala chips, poppadoms and Samosa Chaat as starters, followed by a sharing platter called “Lucknow Darbaari” which had all the main dishes we wanted to try but smaller portions. This was extremely filling and we had trouble finishing it, next time we won’t order as many starters! Food was extremely delicious and good portions, while the menu itself had a lot of options. Will definitely come back again.

A great place to eat good quality Indian food, clean and beautiful inside the restaurant. The food was delicious and I absolutely loved the butter chicken with masala chips which was a very unique flavour. Although everything was great, I think the portion sizes could have been served larger in regards to the pricing. Overall, it was a beautiful moment.

Beyond my expectations….. I had an incredible dining experience at your place. The flavors of each dish were exquisite, perfectly complemented by the beautiful presentation. The cozy ambiance and attentive, cheerful staff truly enhanced the evening. Overall, a delightful culinary journey worth experiencing. At the entrance they see I have a child with me and gave him a paper and crayon to colour and have fun. The food was just perfect in both quantity and taste. After food they gave a soft towelette and to my surprise that was also warm to make customers feel comfortable. Staff was welcoming. Sensed and helped us to take photos. I liked that. It was a perfect night and I will definitely visit there again.

Everytime I visit this branch I am amazed at the service from the someone greetig you welcome till last person to say thank you bye. The food is amazing no doubt , ambience is lovely very friendly, family vibe but service is extraordinary as well. I ended up asking name this time only from one of our attendant “khushbu” she was so humble and welcoming . I wish they add service charge on bill . As we don’t always carry cash with us if paying by card but than again I also don’t mind giving tip in their hand. Overall amazing experience once again. (Gants-hill branch)

It was a nice experience and good staff members. We ordered grill mix and it was good. And in veg we ordered veg handi having a good quantity and a nice testy.

Saffron Street, my second visit within a year, left me with mixed sentiments. Despite its constant buzz and pleasant atmosphere, the dining experience fell short. The food, while acceptable, lacked the depth of flavors I anticipated. A recurring issue was the abundance of sweet sauces overpowering the chicken dishes, detracting from the authenticity. While it may serve as a decent spot for family outings or a casual date, my overall impression leaves me doubtful about returning. Saffron Street, for me, remains a place with potential yet to be fully realized.

Good Indian food in a modern Indian restaurant. Staffs were friendly. All the foods were well presented. Taste was good.

Saffron Street is a regular for me, and you know a restaurant is good when its pretty much full 7 days a week. The owners have done a great job with the decor and food presentation, but when it comes to the taste and value for money it's truly exceptional. My wife and I can never get tired of the Masala chips and Palak chaat (both of which I highly recommend), we have tried most of the menu and everything tastes delicious and authentic, and you truly feel satisfied at the end of the meal (and usually have food to take home which is a bonus ☺️) If you want good quality food, presentation and value for money then I can't think of a single restaurant out there that will top Saffron Street.
