Worst Dosa i ever had in London. Order Dosa nd i swear God chutyne which she served me was expired the nd Alu which they added in masala dosa was like paste. When your paying for something inreturn you we expect good food they are charging nearly £7 for Dosa with that very bad quality. Never ever will visit this garage shop. This review is of my own exprnce which i faced not for any hate purpose.

Why did I bother! Filthy on the inside and outside . The lady serving looked like she had just woke up . Her friend who may be her partner was drinking away on the far table with roll ups all over the table, burping away like he was home alone . All the cooled food under the counter looked 2 weeks old with a skin formed on top of the food . There should have been a cover over the food. There was clutter everywhere and the place looked like it hadn’t been cleaned for months . Should have walked out really but it’s what hunger does to you . The food was so badly presented . It was mediocre and couldn’t believe what we got charged as it was not worth paying so much . The lady had no customer skills and I really don’t know how this place is running a business . We left there feeling like we needed a shower! This is an example of a business who doesn’t care how they come across and I won’t be going there ever again and also will tell my friends and family not to bother either . Only went there because my dad is in Goodmayes hospital close by and we wanted a bite to eat . I wish I had read the mostly negative reviews before . The customers are the ones who pay your bills and keep you in business so to not value their experiance is nothing but foolish . People go somewhere else. I’ve warned you!

A bit disappointing, food is just very ordinary barely ok, lots improvement is desired however price wise it’s top class fine dine standard, 😂 Price in general is on the higher side in comparison to similar eateries IMHO. I attached their price list in the pic so one can understand what I am saying. Atmosphere is ok, service is good, but not coming back, thanks.

I was charged £18.50 per kg for besan ladoos and motichoor ladoos for a takeaway in a normal box. Nothing extravagant. So I paid £6.50 for 6 pieces= 350g. Total rip off. Please check your bill before paying.

Dosa Rani serves multiple Indian sweets and some of the well known indian savouries like Samosa, dosa vada etc. their Samosas are the best (sells vegetarian only). Their sweets are supplied from Royal sweets, which I don’t find the tastiest and the freshest. They are generally very dry one. I have tried it many times but always got dry sweets. But if you need a sweets in hurry, it is just next to the Goodmayes station on the Elizabeth line. Worth trying and validate my experience, don’t forget to leave your reply.

it is more expensive than other outlets but I enjoy their Samosa. This is the only place I'm aware of that sells India samosas. I wish there was less filling so it was more crunchy, but I like it anyway. I also enjoy their Golgappas, which are similar to those found in India. Everything is pricy tough.

Dont get mislead by the bad reviews, yh agree the prices are a bit steep compared to whats on offer around the locality but the food is exceptionally nice. I tried the Vada Pav and the Pav Bhaji and they were both extremely satisfying especially the Pav Bhaji, not sure of they give the fried green chilli as it was missing from my order. Will visit again and try more dishes once we are allowed to dine in.

I don't appreciate being misled about prices. I asked for a small box of assorted sweets and wanted to know how much it would cost first. The woman said £8 something and that it depends on weight. So I went ahead and had her fill the box then weigh it, only to be told it was £14+. I asked how could that be when she had quoted me £8 and she said that was the half kg rate she was quoting. Even if she had said half kg rate at the time, she was clearly most reasonably taken to be referring to weight of the box I had asked her to fill, in rough terms. I think she was deliberately trying to mislead me about the price of a box so that I would feel obliged to buy it once she had taken the trouble to fill it - and boy did she try to fill it. I returned to the shop a little later to give her feedback on how not to quote prices - when she must have known full well what was the approximate answer to my question, which was all I wanted to know, the price of filling the box. Won't be going back there again.

Prices are way too high in comparison to what is available in and around the Ilford area. I was put off by the excessive smell of insence sticks burning (why have these burning in a restaurant....you want to smell the food!) We ordered 2 chaats which came to £10, taste wasnt all that and the size was way too small.

I called them to say the portion size was ridiculous for that price. I wish I had bought some Nihari from a few doors down for that price instead of some inexpensive/less than half a portion of spiced potatoes that didnt taste very nice. Ambience is simply and nice with some hindi bollywood songs playing in the background . We tried the ⭐️Chana Bhature - Chana was perfectly cooked and tasted delicious . Bhatura was evenly fried . ⭐️Vegetable Biryani - Vegetable biryani tasted average . With too less quantity of veggies . All i could find was potatoes. Served along raita which again was average. The quantity of biryani was pretty less for the price . Thank You !! Cheers !!

It was a couple of years since my girlfriend and i last visited Dosa Rani and it was incredibly good then. Following a move to Chelmsford it has not been easily accesible for us and my girlfriend has regularly said how much she missed it so when I saw it was mentioned in the vegetarian good restaurant guide i thought a revisit was critical! One bit of advice, if travelling by car, park in goodmayes tesco and walk up. The food is spectacular, as a fusion of south indian and singaporean it is spicy, however you will be forewarned if it is! We had the mixed pakora, punjabi samosa and paneer samosa to start. All of these are a culinary delight served with their own special sauce which is a garlic, tamarind and herb mix which is absolutely fantastic. The pakora mix is a particular treat as you receive a big plate with many different kinds of pakora (the pepper pakora are a real treat) For the main we shared a chilli masala dosa and the aloo tikki chat. All the dosa served here are fantastic, most are also suitable for vegans and come with freshly prepared sauce and curry. They are literally melt in the mouth and are perfectly spiced. The aloo tikki chat was possibly the best dish i have ever had in a south indian restaurant, a mix of a delicate warm potato chat with a spicy cold salad with plenty of flavour. I left feeling incredibly well served and was more than enough food for two as an afternoon meal. Total cost (including a cup of tea and samosa to take away) was 17.85. I left 20 pounds, however would happily have paid more! Service was excellent. 5 star throughout and is certainly the best veggie restaurant outside of central london and certainly better value.

Been using this take away for 38 years when the old fella was running it. It has deteriorated now. I was told the delivery would be 50 minutes to an hour. I phoned after an hour and was told it would be another 10 to 15 minutes. The order was half cold and the chicken portion on one of the dishes was small. Shame, because the food is actually very nice but it isn't worth the bother any more. Plenty more Indian take always in the area. You need to step up your service or you'll lose more customers.
