Waste of money, food wasn't nice and waitress didn't seem bothered, too busy on her phone. It use to be a good shop but now after years of going there I don't know what has happened

Main chef now left, poor hygiene now, new chef walks around and smokes outside. Poor dress code, They cannot accept custom orders. Royal sweets on offer like jelabi is old. Others from refrigerator is OK, but cheaper from Tesco, no price match available.

This place is near my house, went there today for lunch as I was hungry during my shopping and as our usual Gill's Grill was closed. The only good item on their menu is their Thali which is worth the money but they told it's only for take away. I dint have any choice other than ordering the pathetic dosa again. The ghee dosa which came after 15mins of waiting had no traces of ghee. Above all they served it with jaggery water which was called as sambar and straight from the bottle Maggi sauce and green chilly water. AWFUL is the word. Will never step in again even if I am starving. Grabbing a banana from an off license is far better to this

Very expensive and terrible food. The dosa and sambar tasted fine but the chutneys r awful. Pani puri's spicy green chutney was served with dosa, so when we asked extra sambar, they told they will charge 1£ for one cup extra sambar. Very rude and hostile staff. Not recommended

I've only bought the sweets from there. Packaging is nice but charged at a premium price. I wouldn't have minded if the sweets were as good as the price tag but they were average at best. There are other nearby Indian Sweet shops with better sweets, variet and price

We have been there many times and seen hick in prices everytime. Initially when they opened food quality and portion was good but eventually portion size started getting smaller and prices going up. It was the only place where they kept increasing prices compared to other south indian restaurant in same area. Chef is very good and never disappoint with quality, might be owner is grumpy who likes to hick prices.

Okay... So this place is located in lovely goodmayes, and about a 5 min walk from the station. I had the saag paneer and it took longer than expected but was worth it. You can see the chef cooking and the ingredients used. When it got to the table you could taste it's freshness and overall was amazing Check it out

It was a couple of years since my girlfriend and i last visited Dosa Rani and it was incredibly good then. Following a move to Chelmsford it has not been easily accesible for us and my girlfriend has regularly said how much she missed it so when I saw it was mentioned in the vegetarian good restaurant guide i thought a revisit was critical! One bit of advice, if travelling by car, park in goodmayes tesco and walk up. The food is spectacular, as a fusion of south indian and singaporean it is spicy, however you will be forewarned if it is! We had the mixed pakora, punjabi samosa and paneer samosa to start. All of these are a culinary delight served with their own special sauce which is a garlic, tamarind and herb mix which is absolutely fantastic. The pakora mix is a particular treat as you receive a big plate with many different kinds of pakora (the pepper pakora are a real treat) For the main we shared a chilli masala dosa and the aloo tikki chat. All the dosa served here are fantastic, most are also suitable for vegans and come with freshly prepared sauce and curry. They are literally melt in the mouth and are perfectly spiced. The aloo tikki chat was possibly the best dish i have ever had in a south indian restaurant, a mix of a delicate warm potato chat with a spicy cold salad with plenty of flavour. I left feeling incredibly well served and was more than enough food for two as an afternoon meal. Total cost (including a cup of tea and samosa to take away) was 17.85. I left 20 pounds, however would happily have paid more! Service was excellent. 5 star throughout and is certainly the best veggie restaurant outside of central london and certainly better value.

Takeaway was not good - our first and last here. Took 90 minutes to arrive and was lukewarm when it finally did. Lamb tikka was dry and gristly. Paratha was very thick and doughy and had steamed in it
