Dropped by for late Lunch. Bar and restaurant staff welcoming Very nice selection on menu with most of the favourites. Tried Fish Chips and peas, large portion and very tasty, others in our party equally impressed with food Whilst I wouldn't describe it as cheap it was good value. Would definitely recommend.

We experienced this restaurant with the Sunday lunch Carvery . It was an experience that we won’t be rushing back to waste our money on again. Should you be the person who enjoys all your vegetables smelling and tasting like over boiled cabbage then it could be recommended but otherwise I suggest that you give it a miss for Sunday lunch.

We've eaten here a few times and while it isn't brilliant, the location is close to us so its convenient, they have a kids menu and can cope with large numbers. Our latest visit has to be the last though: the service wasn't very good but the food was really pretty dire. The Sweet and Sour Pork (or whatever they call it) was a particular low point: small portions which was just as well as it tasted like a poor quality frozen ready meal. I'm sure we paid £12 or £15 for that so its not cheap either. We ordered 11 different dishes: all apart from the Cod and Chips were really quite poor. Prices have increased now so its harder to forgive a bad experience when other places can get it right. I like supporting local businesses but can no longer subject my friends and family to this.

Went for lunch for the first time today, , my wife ordered Cantonese Pork, I ordered Cod and Chips and Mushy Peas. When the food arrived we both noticed it was served on cold plates, my wife said hers was tasty but it was very much like a poor quality Supermarket frozen meal, when cod and chips arrived it looked reasonable accept for the chips which looked greasy and disgusting and were luke warm, I tasted the chips some were uncooked in the middle and near black on the outside, I took my plate back to the server who spoke to a member of the kitchen staff who told me it was the potatoes that were the problem and offered to cook me a fresh batch, the fish was returned to me on a cold plate and by this time the fish was also luke warm, the server brought another portion of chips of the same standard as the first batch greasy and dark in colour, I spoke to the server who said they would refund my meal which they did. Is it so difficult to cook fish and chips, Mckays of Eyemouth always, Cross Inn always spot on perfect. We would not return, give this place a miss much better places for fish and chips in Berwick and the surrounding area

Great size room and no need for booking for the Sunday carvery.Food was decent and prices reasonable with three different size plates on offer.Went to pay at the bar only to be told they don't accept money,it was card only.Asked why they wouldn't take payment by cash and was told it was changed to that in Covid and never changed back.Very poor excuse in February 2023.

We stayed ona touring Pitch E 1 and this has separate Shower room and Toilets for the E area. They were spotless and in fact better standard than any five star hotel. The Club House is nearby and we had a few drinks but had eaten in Berwick. everyone looed happy with the meals where saw being taken to tables and the staff were really friendly .. The grounds are exceptional too well done McQuires . The Rolls Royce of Camp sites .. Weve been touring for years in our motorhome from our base in Sunderland and this is the best site we have ever visited . Be back in future.

We had Sunday carvery here while staying at the caravan site. It was really tasty and as a family of 4, we all enjoyed our meal. The restaurant is large and airy. Staff were friendly. Tables could have maybe been cleared a little faster but that did not put us off at all. We also visited on an evening for hubby and kids to play pool during our stay and again we found staff to be helpful.

After leading Remembrance Day Ceremony as Berwick’s Civic party, we needed somewhere to relax and reflect with excellent food, so pleased we chose Maguires restaurant at East Ord House on the outskirts of Berwick upon Tweed. Our telephone booking answered by a staff member with what I call ‘the telephone smile’ Ease of parking amidst beautiful autumn trees, open lift for my Mayor who finds stairs a challenge, a warm welcome from staff, a choice of family dining area (mental note for when we return with our local grandchildren) for this visit we chose the very elegant adult dining area. A Sunday, we chose roasts, ham, beef, pork, even offered sample of all three, delicious gravy, vegetables Yorkshire puddings …we all chose sticky toffee pudding and here I must confess that I asked for cream, ice cream and custard and as with all else, nothing was too much trouble to the staff. My Mayor enjoyed a chilled Pinot Grigio, The Mayoress a sparking tonic with ice and lemon being a driver and we pints of fresh orange topped with lemonade. My mantra is empathy and I felt as though staff served us as they would treat their own relatives, which reflects well on the owners…ethos comes from the top. Highly recommended.

We came here for a family meal a few weeks ago and thought it was a great place. There was a lot to choose from the menu but this time there were only 4 main courses and a burger selection, wrap, and sizzling courses. We ordered the chicken curry and it was disgusting and tasted like it was from Farmfoods. I ordered the fish bites for my daughter and they weren't bite-size at all, they were too big bits of batter with a little bit of fish in it., it seemed like the fish swam away. The staff were very friendly and helpful and there was a play area for the kids which i thought was great.

This is only the second time we have had food here, but it won’t be the last. I am pleasantly surprised how good the food is. We have had the Sunday carvery which was excellent and we went for lunch today, all 3 meals were great and big portions as well. All the staff we spoke to were friendly and helpful. I am now looking forward to try other items on the menu. Highly recommended and great surroundings.

Came here for lunch on a weekday afternoon so wasn't very busy. The interior of the restaurant and bar was amazing, as were the toilets. Nice soft play area for kids, which is quite small and probably aimed more at young children. Us adults enjoyed a quick game of pool. Food and drinks prices reasonable. Burgers were really good, big portions. Scampi looked a total let down, pale chip shop looking chips which looked like they had been reheated and the mushy peas was just a small blob dolloped on the edge of the plate. Would visit again if in the area.

Really nice refurb with and area for families and an area for adults only both of which are comfortable and well furnished. We went mid week and it was pretty quiet - we sat in the adults only room. As there was a fair few of us putting tables together turned out to be a bit of a odd matching of different size tables, which made it a bit awkward when sitting around the final 'construction'. Something to think about if there is a group of you. Service was ok although the staff missed a trick as we had to go to the bar ourselves to order more drinks and they never asked if we wanted sweets once we'd finished our meal. I am sure they would have had some takers of they had done so. Food was decent and I think this would be worth another visit.

Food was average and slow in coming which the waitress did appologise for.

First visit as a family with younger grandchildren proved very favourable. Warm and clean surroundings, extremely friendly and helpful staff and exceptional value for money for Sunday lunch. With the addition of an indoor play centre for younger children this seemed an ideal solution for bored kids. Food was excellent and fresh in more than adequate proportions. Some people were noticed having enormous helpings but that perhaps reflected either their greed or their size!Altogether an ideal family `eating out` solution with something there to suit everyones tastes. Will visit again as and when the situation demands.

A great half way location between Newcastle and Edinburgh to meet up with friends for lunch after New Year’s Day, but food and service were terrible. Restaurant not busy. Waited one and a half hours for food. Not acceptable, especially for young children. Food was cold and looked like microwave meals heated up! Manager’s response was poor; blaming it on short staff and advised he alerted us to the wait. Yes, he alerted us to a half hour wait, but not an extra hour on top of that. The restaurant should not be open to the public, if this is the service they provide. Not a great start to 2019 for this restaurant.

Visited today with family, we were only the second table to arrive, but seemed to wait quite a while for food to come out. The staff were friendly and polite. Good portion sizes but it was all a bit bland. The chips were very greasy and a marguerita pizza had onions on it which upset my daughter. The windows could do with some blinds as half the table were blinded by the sun, there was no getting away from it.

Volver. Web todavía muy ordenado y una vez más, todo el personal es amable y servicial. Pitch tourer reservado. Armar en el jardín amurallado. Bien protegida, espaciosa, con buen gancho eléctrico y suministro de agua. Permanente duro en grava. Ducha/WC a unos 150 metros.

This caravan site is available in February, which is why we chose it, and we were surprisingly impressed. It also had a standard charge which included up to 4 people. The pitches were a good size, however most were on single track roads which would be a little challenging for novices to caravan manoeuvring. Staff were friendly and efficient. Amenities were clean and even had some nice music playing in the toilet/shower area! The main house had a bar, games room and soft play area, with lovely food available. A quick word to the chef dispelled our fears for the "coeliac" in the party. Outside were areas designated for the children to play ball games, and a magnificent adventure type fort to explore. We will return in the better weather.

Stopped off for breakfast and found automation had caught up with Morrisons, in the form of an automated ordering system. Finding our way around the screen wasn't quite as easy as big Mac and KFC equivalents but we did manage it, only just. Wanting to pay by cash, however, was even more difficult as the robot doesn't accept anything except credit cards so customer, much against the chagrin, had to use plastic. The breakfasts, when they arrived, was excellent and without doubt value for plastic.

Nice little hotel bar right on the Main Street of Alnwick I had drink several times during our stay in Alnwick. Margaret had the chilli which she said was nice. I wasn’t hungry so had the potato skins which came with a barbecue sauce and garlic mayo, which were ok but out of a bottle.

Asked for two teas with extra teabag and was informed the charge would be £2.60 extra. Discussed with my husband and decided to have coffee instead. Went back to the ordering area but had to wait while the two members of staff were discussing overtime hours with another member of staff. After going back to the table my husband who had an ‘americano’ needed more cold milk. Once again went to ask for some but must wait while one assistant was showing the other how to fill a serviette dispenser. Poor service and TEABAGS AT £2.60 EACH - Shame on you MARKS AND SPENCER.
