Magic Wok in Gosport

Had a fantastic takeaway as usual. Good portion size and delicious food thank you. Delivery is great also, very polite.

Usually our go to Chinese takeaway, we always order the same. Tonight the hot and sour soup was just sweet, obviously they missed a key ingredient when making it. We called to let them know and the response was “this is how we make it if you don’t like it don’t order again” we explained that we always order it and they responded with “no one else has complained” the girl on the phone was very rude. No apology, no offer to remake-it’s going in the bin! What a shame, won’t be using again

We ordered a takeaway from here as we had been pleased to find some proper spring rolls at last. The spring rolls, again, were excellent. Sadly, the rest of the meal was a tad disappointing. We asked for prawn kung po. Whatever was delivered was not prawns at all, but possibly tiny pieces of chicken in a heavy batter. The rice was claggy. There was an abundance of onions in the curry. Will probably buy spring rolls again, but that is about it, sadly.

Have used regularly with same take away dishes ordered. Have noticed recently dishes like special fried rice only appear to contain peas some beans but no shrimps or char siu or pieces of egg omelette they have also put prices up but reduced quality

I have used it for years and probably too much! but always hot and fresh with attentive staff, the owner takes pride in what she does and this shows!

We love large spring rolls. Since Tim left The Kwok Wah, we have suffered cabbage stuffed, or thick doughy batter or tasteless grey gunge filled "spring rolls" from various outlets. Thank goodness when we found that the Magic Wok version is full of bean sprouts, pork etc. as they should be! Our other meals were a Chinese curry (rather too mild) and a Thai green curry (very hot!) Both could do with a little more seasoning. Chips or fried or boiled rice were only an extra 30p. Excellent value. Will return, if only for the spring rolls.

Have been using this great chinese for many years and have sampled a wide range of dishes. Would always recommend as a very good quality of food and excellent service either in person or calling to order a delivery.

Thank you Magic Wok for an enjoyable Chinese every week during Lockdown. Every week food has been lovely , always hot with excellent service. Tonight’s food was especially nice , the whole family enjoyed it. Excellent value for money. 😋

I have just waited over an hour and 50 minutes for my order. I was told an hour which I was happy to accept. Phoned them at an hour and a half and was told that the delivery should have been out ages ago??? 20 minutes later it arrived!!! No apology, no discount, nothing. Its good food, but delivery time is disgusting. 😡

We have been using the Magic Wok for many years now, usually with delivery, and have always found the service good and the food excellent. The starter selection is particularly good! It is a must when family are visiting.

Love this take away food is always hot and delicious especially the lemon chicken, staff friendly and helpful

The Magic Wok really is Magic. Have been having takeaways delivered from here for the last few years. No complaints. Always hot, always tasty. The other local offerings can’t get close. The try the Magic. 👍

this place is the place to eat if you like your chinese they have great specials on all their food and their staff are friendly and the food is worth having time and time again!

Have tried others but this Chinese is always the best. We try to collect but they do deliver - lovely food.

This is by far the best Chinese Takeaway in Gosport. We've been using them regularly since August 2017. You know that hangover feeling you get next morning with some takeaways as they use so many chemicals, msg etc - not with their food! They have a great set menu choice, when we've ordered for 6, 8. 12 people we have so much food and variety, all our friends use them now. You can also tell its cooked fresh, prepare to wait 45-60 minutes for your order. Brilliant place.

Mr woon was shut-sadly tried the next NEAREST thing.. OPENED MY CHOI MEIN AND PUT IT STRAIGHT IN BIN-BROWN RICE is a massive NO NO And the Starter (£8)looked rubbery/reheated..STAY AWAY IF you like Fresh takeaway "food..If the owners read this please Shut the doors now and have a rethink on what your offering ie would you eat what you served me for £12.20..

After trying other Chinese takeaways in the Gosport area, we can thoroughly recommend the Magic Wok. The premises are clean, staff friendly and efficient, the meal was ready on time and was very good quality with large portions. We'll be going back for more soon!
