Magic Wok in Gosport

such a shame as this place is going down hill fast ,I don't understand how you can expect people to place an order and have to over 2 hours for it to be delivered. Thinks are be going else where in future

I love the food from magic wok and don't have an issue with the quality of the food just the attitude of some of their staff. Sometimes I can call through and get a nice friendly member of staff and then other times like tonight and in the past where they were just abrupt and rude

Currently the best Chinese takeaway in Gosport. I use it regularly and it is always excellent. It can be difficult to get through on the phone so if you're able to I would suggest pre-booking or going down in person. You will not be disappointed.

The food was amazing and delivered in a speedy time and pipeing hot and amazing customer service make you fill like you can ask anything and very knowledgeable

They couldn't get a simple order right and I ended up being overcharged for their mistake. I have used this chinese for years. Never again!!!

Our favourite Chinese takeaway was closed so we used Facebook recommendations and ordered from here. Big mistake. Over £40 for a 45 minute wait and the food to be nothing short of greasy, tasteless and soggy. The majority went in the bin and we will not be ordering from here again. How disappointing.

Without a doubt the best Chinese takeaway in Hampshire! Every meal is perfect, I've been here numerous times over the years for a takeaway; and have never been let down with the experience. I recommend this to anyone in Gosport, extremely well priced, fast service, and amazing food!

We have used this takeaway for several years and have always been happy until recently. On our second to last order we were told an hour for delivery and it was 90 minutes when i decided to drive to collect and was told it was already out for delivery. I drove home and waited another 10 minutes for the delivery to arrive. No apologies for the delay at either the shop or from the delivery driver. The last time we ordered i specified collection as we had decided to avoid delivery. I waited 20 minutes after my collection time and had to return as they had forgotten an item. Another person in the shop had to wait for their order to be redone as the takeaway had lost it/not taken it down properly. Its hard enough getting through on the phone and when you do it takes longer than promised for food and it's not always rights so we are going to stay away and give it time to improve. We like the food but recently the service has gone down hill. I really hope it improves or you have lost a regular customer.

Been going to the magic wok for nearly 3 years never had a bad dish from there would highly recommend to anyone and if you like ribs there meat literally falls off the bone love there chowmain and there salt and chilli chips are heavenly

Shocking service, took nearly 2 hours to get a delivery. When I called after an hour and a half wait I received poor customer service. Food turned up luke warm at best. Looking for new Chinese takeaway now as this is not the first time its happened. Shocking.

Fantastic food at very reasonable prices. Been going here for over 5 years, and we keep going back.

Just got a takeaway from here sorry but worst chinese I think I have ever had, very little flavour, curry was very watery and fried rice was stodgy. Normally use oriental express far far better but shut tonight so thought we would give somewhere else a try never ever again.

Usually our go to Chinese takeaway, we always order the same. Tonight the hot and sour soup was just sweet, obviously they missed a key ingredient when making it. We called to let them know and the response was “this is how we make it if you don’t like it don’t order again” we explained that we always order it and they responded with “no one else has complained” the girl on the phone was very rude. No apology, no offer to remake-it’s going in the bin! What a shame, won’t be using again

Very wishy washy. We visited here as our usual was closed. Service was great, on time and the food was piping hot. The rice was bland, the curry very average and the sweet and sour was all sweet with no sour. Overall nowhere even close to Lams unfortunately. The meat seemed good quality it just didn't hit the spot sadly. ADDED: The food didn't taste greasy at all :)

Have waited over 2 hours for delivery. Very poor as we were told 30 to 40 minutes when we ordered the food. Not good

Had been the usual chinese takeaway for a while, and has always delivered. Great selection of food, with many options for different diet types. Good portion sizes, everything piping hot upon arrival- Food is fab tasting and lovely. Recently had for New Years during their busiest hours without prebooking. Order was over 100 pounds and although initially was told that the wait would be after 9 pm, they managed to give us a window of about 1.5 hours. Our food was ready within about 30/45 minutes to collect, all wrapped up in a large box to be taken home. Amazing service from all of the staff, food was piping hot and fab as always. Thank you to all the staff at Magic Wok.

We ordered a takeaway from here as we had been pleased to find some proper spring rolls at last. The spring rolls, again, were excellent. Sadly, the rest of the meal was a tad disappointing. We asked for prawn kung po. Whatever was delivered was not prawns at all, but possibly tiny pieces of chicken in a heavy batter. The rice was claggy. There was an abundance of onions in the curry. Will probably buy spring rolls again, but that is about it, sadly.

Have used regularly with same take away dishes ordered. Have noticed recently dishes like special fried rice only appear to contain peas some beans but no shrimps or char siu or pieces of egg omelette they have also put prices up but reduced quality

I have used it for years and probably too much! but always hot and fresh with attentive staff, the owner takes pride in what she does and this shows!

Having been recommended by a friend we decided to order from Magic Wok. On placing the order we were given a delivery time between an 1hr to 1 1/4 hrs. After 1 1/2hrs we rang to see where our order was. We were informed they were waiting for their driver to return and our order would be with us soon. 30mins later and STILL no sign of our order. Phoned again. Told the driver was just returning and our food will be with us in 15 mins. It eventually turned up. After the long wait we hoped the food would very good, however it was at best mediocre. Needless to say we will never use again and are returning to our old Chinese, New Golden Wok.

Our go to place for a Chinese in gosport and by far, in our opinion the best. Always phone for take away always greeted politely by a lady. We had a big order ( sorry) on a Saturday night but was still delivered with in 1hr 30 mins as told on the phone. Delivery guy was polite and put our order inside our door as requested. Good meal portion sizes, always arrives hot and tastes good. Good size crispy pancake rolls too. Free prawn crackers. Fair prices too. Highly recommended

Used to be a great takeaway but gone down hill, waited nearly 2 hours for our order and wished I hadn't ordered, had food poisoning which lasted nearly 3 days, never again will I use this place and we used to be regular customers but wasn't anything like it was before

We love large spring rolls. Since Tim left The Kwok Wah, we have suffered cabbage stuffed, or thick doughy batter or tasteless grey gunge filled "spring rolls" from various outlets. Thank goodness when we found that the Magic Wok version is full of bean sprouts, pork etc. as they should be! Our other meals were a Chinese curry (rather too mild) and a Thai green curry (very hot!) Both could do with a little more seasoning. Chips or fried or boiled rice were only an extra 30p. Excellent value. Will return, if only for the spring rolls.

We had a meal last night from Magic Wok. I always have chicken fried rice, always delicious. We had S&S chicken balls , also first time I have had garlic chips - absolutely delicious. All delivered within 25 mins , and piping hot. Best chinese in Gosport.

Had a meal from magic wok last night and it was beautiful so much so I had to have one tonight! We made a big order and all though it took a little while it was definitely worth the wait ! Amazing food and lovely girl on the phone will definitely be back .

What more can you say, good service, good food and food sizing. Gets extremely busy, so order early for when you would like it.

I have just waited over an hour and 50 minutes for my order. I was told an hour which I was happy to accept. Phoned them at an hour and a half and was told that the delivery should have been out ages ago??? 20 minutes later it arrived!!! No apology, no discount, nothing. Its good food, but delivery time is disgusting. 😡

Used to go here every Wednesday. The staff are really nice and built a good friendship with them over the years I went there. Great food at great price really would recommend!

We have been using the Magic Wok for many years now, usually with delivery, and have always found the service good and the food excellent. The starter selection is particularly good! It is a must when family are visiting.

This is by far the best Chinese Takeaway in Gosport. We've been using them regularly since August 2017. You know that hangover feeling you get next morning with some takeaways as they use so many chemicals, msg etc - not with their food! They have a great set menu choice, when we've ordered for 6, 8. 12 people we have so much food and variety, all our friends use them now. You can also tell its cooked fresh, prepare to wait 45-60 minutes for your order. Brilliant place.

Mr woon was shut-sadly tried the next NEAREST thing.. OPENED MY CHOI MEIN AND PUT IT STRAIGHT IN BIN-BROWN RICE is a massive NO NO And the Starter (£8)looked rubbery/reheated..STAY AWAY IF you like Fresh takeaway "food..If the owners read this please Shut the doors now and have a rethink on what your offering ie would you eat what you served me for £12.20..

After trying other Chinese takeaways in the Gosport area, we can thoroughly recommend the Magic Wok. The premises are clean, staff friendly and efficient, the meal was ready on time and was very good quality with large portions. We'll be going back for more soon!
