Jumbo Chinese & Thai Fast Food in Gosport

Ordered a meal and asked for it not to be spicy. Food arrived and it was so spice it was inedible. Phoned to rectify the situation and the employee advised that they can't make that meal non spicy. They didn't advise me if this when I ordered. No replacement offered. No refund offered. Was told not to order spicy food if I don't like it. Awful customer service.

I normally order from Oriental Express (who are amazing by the way), but they're closed on Tuesdays. So we gave Jumbo a go. Very similar to oriental express, great taste, good spice/heat, arrived quickly and good size portions. Will definitely order again

Service ok, but unfortunately food wise worse chips ever!! Couldn’t even eat - large portions but bland of flavour didn’t even get complimentary prawn crackers!

I am very picky when buying take out. I am 60 years old and this is the best take out I have eaten! The food was amazing. So much protein and excellent taste.

First time order, absolutely lovely, food was very hot & very tasty, delivered on time by polite driver. Hopefully not a first impression order but I will order from again, thanks for a lovely meal

I’ve ordered from Jumbo before and never had a problem, but this evening I found something in my food which has caused my tooth to crack. I tried calling up to complain and ask for my money back as it will now need to go towards a dentist appointment, but was passed around to different staff members and was told they couldn’t help. Will not be ordering from there again, very disappointed.

Best Chinese in the area in my opinion.

Love this chinese allways been our go to. but on buying two large spring rolls which state just spring rolls has praws in and my other half had to administer his epi pen due to the fact he is allergic to shell fish allergy. There is no where stating that it has praws in it, this needs to be clearly written on the menu if there is fish in there also on Web page

Ordered a takeaway tonight and normally Jumbo is great but lately the food has gone down hill. The duck fried rice was very wet and no flavour, Duck curry also had no flavour. The seaweed no flavour, and the prawn crackers were soft. This has just made our decision to find a different Chinese takeaway.

Used to be so good, we never used to go anywhere else but we've just tried them for the last time. Everything is just bland, and the chicken is terrible quality. Beef in black bean had literally no flavour and it was very obvious it had been velveted. Egg fried rice was also so bland... thought we give them one last chance but wint be getting it from here again.

Absolutely rubbish had a chicken curry the chicken was like rubber the pancake roll was black inside I cannot believe this has got top reviews the rice is brown and clumps I would not recommend this to anyone the food I wouldn’t even give to my dog

I've had food from this place three times now. Each time perfect food perfectly cooked and a great service well done. I would recommend if you live in the area to give it a go go fantastic place

I would say that this is fhe best Chinese taekeaway in Gosport. I have NOT tried them all.... But i have tried many, and Jumbos food is consistently excellent. I always collect my food, but you may find they put a delivery time of 1.5 hours on your delivery order. They did they only time I got delivery.... And they Do mean it. So just plan accordingly. Its a good sign anyway, that that are actually cooking real good and not just warming things up! I go there every Tuesday, and have done for over 6 months, and each meal had been excellent. Looking for Chinese takeaway food in. Gosport? Look no further. You've found your new favourite place! Enjoy!

Enjoyed a nice takeaway from here. Having read some other reviews thought we ought to try it, didn’t disappoint. Bit of a drive away but very nice meals. Shall be returning and using this as our “Chinese takeaway of choice”.

The best Chinese takeaway we have ever had - we have not had anything that we have been disappointed with - their Sweet and Sour Chicken Balls are to die for !! Be aware though that they are always very busy and there will be a waiting time - but worth the wai !!

Great Chinese with big portions

Haven't had some thing from Jumbo for a long while as moved, but thought we would give it a go again this evening. But we were very disappointed not how we remember.

After waiting 2 hours. Not a problem due to a busy night. Was not dissapointed. Even gave a 10% discount after phoning twice for being late. Would highly recommend. Hot food and delicious

just ordered chilli garlic beef never tried this dish before from the amazing jumbo wow it did not dissapoint flavour and taste outstanding

I have to say after our local Chinese closing we never thought we would find another as good. So happy we found Jumbo. Oh my god. The best. Would recommend the satay chicken sticks, salt and pepper chips, Kung po, spring rolls, Singapore noodles, Hong Kong style sweet and sour. Extremely busy, so be patient and call early. Lovely staff. Food piping hot. You won’t be sorry. As good if not better than a restaurant

Bland food, the only thing that was ok was the egg rice, even the prawn crackers dont taste of prawn. Would not use this take away again.

Order from here often, But was told upto 1 and a half hour wait tonight. 1 hour 30 mins later food still not here won't be going back

This place is normally great perfect food fresh tasty ingredients but tonight I'm not sure what's gone wrong but I didint even get my order after being told on the phone waiting time for delivery could be up to 1 and half hours which I was fine with knowing the quality it's worth it but 1 hour and 40 mins gone by I call to see where my order is and they haven't even started mine yet and there is still a few orders In front of mine, shocking way to treat a customer at least call me back to explain the wait times had changed!? no offence to the girl answering the phones as she clearly had a hard time of it all her self today.

On a particularly busy night, the call taker was extremely helpful and patient. Our delivery arrived at the time we requested. The dishes were well cooked and portions were generous. However, I was disappointed at the lack of flavour in the dishes I tried. Could have been 5 stars if this hadn't been the case. (ps - this lack of flavour was nothing to do with the virus !!)

Just had our latest delivery from Jumbo and what a beautiful dinner it was, soup followed by main dishes, absolutely brilliant, for us it is 10 out of 10.

Will not go to any other Chinese takeaway. The portions are good, food quality is good, and the staff are friendly. Problems is with a good takeaway is they are always so busy so be prepared to wait a little while for your food but it is worth it. I like the fact you can see your food being cooked too. Hygiene rating is 5 star. They also deliver.

Never had a bad meal from here portions are large and they do not use loads of MSG like most other Chinese Take aways. Staff are friendly and you can see them cooking the food . Always busy and they deliver. Never go anywhere else, try it you'll like it.

Best Chinese in gosport great food.

Had takeaway tonight. Simple chicken curry and chips. The chicken was obviously pasteurised boil bag chicken, I know I used to sell that rubbish, not fresh chicken, the curry source was very salty, though the boiled rice was OK. Overall, awful. Worst Chinese chicken curry I've ever had the misfortune in burying and will certainly never buy food from here again, especially as I felt. assured by seemingly legitimate trip advisor feedback.

This Take Away is the best in the area. Quality and portions of food you can't beat. I like the fact you can actually see them cooking your food. They get very busy so be prepared to wait but well worth waiting.

I have been ordering from Jumbo for approx 3 years and yet to have a bad take away from here yet. I am really fussy and I won’t eat from just anywhere the place has to be recce’d first as I need to know if the establishment is hygienic and I can confirm from what I have seen, it is. The eatery itself prepares and cooks in full view of those who are ordering in person. I like that!! I also love the food that is I order and eat!! Generous portions and always steaming hot when delivered. I have used one other Chinese and that was because jumbo took a holiday and i can tell you despite their rave reviews it was not great! I gave jumbo five stars for their customer service, their delivery and ultimately their food. On behalf of a loyal and a very grateful customer thank you. I have the chicken fried rice, beef in green pepper and black bean sauce, king prawn balls and chips!! They are yummy!!

Lovely food and good value for money especially their one tray meals, occasionally a bit salty but good nonetheless.

This is now my favourite takeaway. The food is really good and the portions are very generous. They’re always very polite and helpful on the phone very during busy periods and the delivery service fast and great value, and again such a polite and friendly service.

WON'T be going here again. I use an epi pen, and am dangerously allergic to all types of nut, but peanut and peanut oil is a bad one for me. Thought we would try them tonight, phoned up and asked before any conversation started if any of their food was cooked in any type of nut oil. Lady said no nuts. Went ahead and placed order and again asked that food was nut free and not cooked in nut oil, again told no nuts. Food turns up, and to my horror food cooked in what smelt like nut oil. Phoned back and was told it had been cooked in peanut oil, and they appeared to find it funny. Disgusted at their lack of concern, and neglect at just how dangerous nut allergies are. Probably going to have to call an ambulance as a result of their neglect......

Tried this place for the first time as don't have Chinese that often. The place was very clean, staff friendly and the food was delicious. Would definitely use again and recommend.

Ok, so I only ordered one meal but I tend to judge a Chinese takeaway on the quality of their King Prawn curry as this is what I generally order.

Just visited this place for the first time and picked up a King Prawn curry. Exactly what I want from a Chinese curry, thick spicy sauce, onions, mushrooms, peas and huge King Prawns layered over boiled rice. Delicious, will be returning.

Fantastic! Best Chinese we've had since moving to Gosport over 2 yrs ago! Staff friendly, place looked immaculately clean and the food was delicious! So glad we got recommend to this place and although it's 2 minutes up the road from us id happily travel if it wasn't. Will definitely be returning 😁

Go there for our take away at least once a week never had a bad meal. Real value for money as the portion are very lager and the service is good, mined you they do get very busy around evening meal times. I also like it as you can see them cooking the food. They do delivery within the local area. Try it you will not be disappointed.

Decided to try this Chinese Take Away and were really pleasantly surprised on the quality, size, flavour of the food. Much, much better than the usual Chinese Take Away. Three really big meals for £16. Great - Will we use this Take Away again - Yes, yes & yes.
