The only place I've found where the meat isn't chewy/slimy.

Being ordering food for years. Used to be best around . Delivery within 20 mins now 90mins food warn and taste horrific. Sad to say won't be ordering anymore

We visited my elderly mum in Gosport and decided to treat her to a Chinese. We rang through and collected our order 3 meals ordered and all 3 meals were thrown in the bin. Tasteless and bland . My husband's curry was cold and his fried rice was big chunks stuck together. It looked and tasted like it had been frozen I had beef and veg but it came and there was hardly any beef or veg but white tasteless bean sprouts and clear runny gravy. The special chow mein was bland and again tasteless My mum was in tears as she wanted to treat us. She felt bad that we had travelled to see her only to end up with inedible food. I feel sorry she wasted her pension when we would have been better having a sandwich

Worst Chinese in Gosport. Never have I eaten burnt chicken fried rice , 2 week chips (dog even turned nose up ) and bleach tasting food. And quite rude on the phone aswell. £30 worth of food in the bin.

Wanted to try somewhere new and had seen some good reviews. Food arrived within time specified. On opening it, it looked burnt, carried on despite this, but tasted of cleaning products and we were unable to eat. Unfortunately when I called I was told they had been very busy and cooked these meals all night with had no complaints… That I could have a free meal next time!!! I Won’t be going back….Worst £27.00 I have spent in a long time…

Better than most of the Chinese food you can find in China Town.

Had the spicy char sui with Singapore fried rice. Best takeaway food I've had!! Amazing!!!

Sorry but this has to be worst meal I have ever had. I was a regular here years ago and no Chinese restaurant was anywhere near there food. I could not even eat this meal. I used to pay the extra because of the quality of food from golden star but I will not pay £17 again for this. Sorry but feel terribly let down

Ordered 3 meals which were congiled and cold, chips uncooked. This used to be a good takeaway not anymore won't be using again

Been using for the last 20 plus years. Won't use any other as have tried them and food never up to the same standard. Never had a bad meal. Always very friendly.

BEST RIBS IN ENGLAND love the food especially the ribs haven't changed much in the 7 years I've been going over they do only take cash which is perfect for me will be going again

First time I’ve been too this Chinese The service is excellent The food was freshly cooked They are only taking cash ? My duck chow mein was so much better than my regular Chinese .. the duck was more tender and juicy with a hint of pepper The chicken balls were much nicer The prawn crackers tastier and the chips were amazing .. I will be going here from now on .. and it’s more local too me since I moved .. I could even walk :)

Fantastic service last night ordered separate meals for 11 of us and every thing was as we asked all correct and most importantly it was delicious. Well done golden star we shall as always be back.

30 years and counting and recipes, tastes have not changed, fantastic curries and ribs to run s mile for.

My family and I go here often. We fell in love with their Chicken curries and egg fried rice. There's something about the curry sauce that is like no other! It's VERY moreish and we keep coming back for more. The service is always charming and prompt.

I've been going to Golden Star for over 30 years, by far the best Chinese takeaway. My favourite is their Chicken curry,the sauce is absolutely amazing. The bbq spare ribs are a firm favourite of my husband.

By Far the Best Chinese takeaway in Gos port...we having been using Golden Star for 25 yrs now...we randomly will try somewhere else but always go back to GS...the owners and their sons are all so lovely ..and take pride in what they do and always use good quality products...

Love this Chinese , very friendly staff , food is always tasty and hot. Golden Star always accommodate and do me an onion curry with egg fried rice and chips ( no peas ) curry triangles are very nice as well.

We had salt and pepper chicken, chiw mein, curry, chicken balls etc can’t daylt any of the food. Highly recommended

I went for King Prawn, Ginger & Spring onion which was enjoyable, lots of spring onion, good portion of prawns & not to much ginger. Husband went for chicken curry which he said was not hot enough for him. He also got some Crispy Salt & Pepper Prawns, they were not crispy, they were really yum, hot. They also put in Vegetable Mini Spring Rolls, they were yum as well, crispy & the vegetable were inside tasty.

I have been going there for years and have always had good service and good food of a very consistent quality.

Husband ordered for me - Golden Star Chow Mein, I don't know how they manage to fit it all in the container, when you see what you get when you empty onto your plate. Lots of meat, not bad. Husband went for a chicken curry (he can be quite funny over his curries), he commented it was not too bad. Will give another visit

It is a family run business,they are all very friendly, excellent food and service.

Food was lovely just a shame they don't deliver
