Maestri della Pasta in Southwark

Loved this place the first time I ate here. So after checking their website to make sure they were open (til 11pm) I went back. Time,money, and reveal crowded buses later they were NOT open. Really irritated and discouraged. Won’t be back.

Came in late evening so not many other customers. Didn't feel too welcome. Had to ask for our order to be taken as staff seemed pre occupied with deliveroo orders. One pasta dish was undercooked. Sent it back and the "cook" moaned. Round 2 was cooked better but just wasn't very nice food overall. 1 of the 2 focaccia bread was rock hard. I've had better spaghetti out of a can.

A painful watch. Possibly in the middle of a transition but they were short staffed and not well trained: - The server held a mozzarella ball in place whilst carrying a dish to a table and held drinks by the tops of the glass whilst serving. - Server was slow, and kind of rude. - My dad ordered an Espresso Martini and got a Black Russian. - There were 19 people in the restaurant in total and we counted 21 people the server sent away. - Menus were sticky and hadn't been cleaned. The menu and restaurant it's self were good but they clearly need some kind of management. The owner needs to take and responsibility and get a team in place that are motivated and trained.

Pesto one is the best. Excellent, reliable pasta place.

Do not recommend this restaurant it is not really a restaurant they use microwave a lot. Seems changed menu and do not advise customers. Pesto and spaghetti were DISGUSTING daughter could not eat and they acted like there was not a problem. Pesto once upon a time was great here now do not attend restaurant not very clean either even other customers came in and walked out it’s not even 1 star Maestri Pasta

I live close to this shop and silly me I never sat down as I was always rushing... Finally tried and cannot say how good it is! Finally a not expensive place with amazing recipes and everything taste like in Italy! Nicolas extremely kind and Chef extremely talented! Remember to add Extra Guanciale everywhere you can! Good job all!

Pasta was awful, didn’t taste fresh at all. Options missing from the very limited menu. No vibe in the restaurant, the staff swore whilst taking our order. Just all round awful.

Ordered on Deliveroo and it was a waste of money. I could have cooked something better. Highly recommend you avoid given much better pasta places all over London (for takeaway and otherwise)

We visited as a family on our last night having had an amazing Italian meal the night before and wanting to try something else. The idea is good with the choice of pasta and sauces, the kids were able to create their own meals to a degree and all were really tasty, hence the 4 stars. The Nero d'avola was not the best I'd drunk, but was nice enough. The deserts though were a bit of a let down. My wife had the chocolate soufflé which first came out overdone and when replaced was still just OK. The tiramisu was served in a plastic pot as though it was from Costco or the like, albeit nice. The atmosphere was a little lacking and its was a little cold and not overly welcoming, but the staff were very helpful and friendly and we'd probably go back if in the area

Came here with my mother for a celebration. we only had a brief amount of time and saw good reviews for this place. How shockingly bad could it be. Ordered the polenta tasted like a packet version and precooked - way too dry, was like eating carpet. Terrible wine with 125ml only. Cost 6.50 (!?) for opened corked wine that tasted like black currant juice and vinegar. Businesses like this are greedy and fake. Another pretend italian place for the high street, if it is Italian, honestly, then please learn to cook, London isn’t as backwards as it used to be. We’ve got beautiful italian places here but this was like being in a school canteen for pre cooked dross. Why bother! Cynical service. Avoid avoid avoid avoid. You make nonna very sad.

Food took about 10 minutes to prepare, was very good, the Waiter was amazingly kind and welcoming, definitely deserves a raise.

Really nice small pasta place near to Borough tube station. Salumi was excellent and pasta was cooked well. Prices are reasonable and portion sizes are really good. Will definitely be returning to try out the salads which looked great too.

Easy-going spot for great food away from the Borough Market crowds. Polenta and cheese is a strong competitor to the pasta cacio e pepe down the road. Great portions and nice sitting area. Not getting 5 stars because the olive ascolane were not properly prepared and looked like they were straight out of a fridge...

I tried the tiramisu and it wasn't a tiramisu. Like I wouldn't say it was a bad one, I would say one shouldn't even call it a tiramisu. More like a coffee flavoured cream with dried fully soft bread at the bottom.

Just had takeaway. Probably best pasta I have had all year!

Ordered this on Deliveroo, one of the pastas was from their gourmet section, it was overcooked, unseasoned, and came with no sauce, just oil. Inedible, and they charge £14 for that. Very disappointing.

I’ve walked past here literally hundreds of times over the years but never ventured in. No idea why, I love Italian food. Tonight stalking Deliveroo for somewhere still open and utterly sick of pizza, Maestri Della Pasta popped up and we decided to give it a go-mostly because I spotted a Burrata on the menu! I love Burrata! We ordered: 2 Focaccia slices, 2 Burrata, a lasagne bolognaise and a penne carbonara. Absolutely delicious! I’ve travelled extensively in Italy and lived in Malta-this was easily comparable to the best meals I’ve had there! Can’t wait to try again and hopefully eat in when the lockdown is finally lifted!

Fresh pasta with well made sauces and mostly importantly lots of oomph. Our portion sizes were great. Staff is super nice and we were well looked after. the one thing i must absolutely recommend is the Tiramisu.. so yummilicious. This place is going to see a lot more of me.

If you’re looking for an authentic pasta place in London, you’ve found it. Nice atmosphere, good food and a lot of original Italian recipes for your pasta. 🇮🇹 Approved!

Wow what a lovely place! We had rigatoni alla bolognese and the trofie al pesto and they were both absolutely delicious and we will be returning. Definitely recommend

Having wandered for a while, trying to find somewhere for a late very lunch, we come across this little gem! Drinks arrived very quickly and the food not long after. T opted for the Black Ravioli with Cuttlefish Ink; D plumped for the Black Ravioli filled with Salmon; me? I settled on the Trofie al Pesto with a side of Bruschetta. The Brusch was perfect (right up there in my top three of all time...and I love the stuff). The mains were all delicious, rich but not too rich, fresh pasta, fresh sauces. We'll be visiting T again and this will be our pit-stop again! Oh, and Giorgio was the perfect host, too.

We’ve visited Maestri della Pasta a few times now and have always enjoyed our meals there. Food is served very quickly and the staff are attentive and friendly. Very reasonable prices with a good range of pasta types, sauces and drinks. Recommend to anyone living in or visiting the Borough area!

TIRAMISU! If you’re there try the Tiramisu, it’s unreal!

Truly the best Italian restaurant I have ever been to, incredible hospitality! The staff are very accommodating, welcoming and made you feel at home! I felt as though I was being looked after by a Italian nana! The delicious food was so very moreish - I recommend the pesto dish and the tiramisu is an absolute must have! This truly is on my top 5 list of restaurants to try in London. If I could give it more stars, I would. Thanks for a fabulous evening!

Very average Food. Pasta did not look and importantly did not taste fresh. Portions rather small. Felt like a dinner you could easily cook yourself without spending the money. Overall there are a lot of better options available. Would not order again from here.

Honestly, this was out of this world. Having had tons of takeout in our 'new normal' from amazing restaurants I can safely say this has been the best. Still dreaming of the tigella! Exquisite authentic Italian with the friendliest service. Looks unassuming from the outside but quality could have been Michelin-starred. All packed perfectly so that you actually have a perfect product by the time it gets home. Such a carefully devised but varied menu that you could go back every week and never get bored. In fact, I might have to! Seriously, blown away by this place - give it a try.

CANNOT BELIEVE HOW GOOD THIS FOOD WAS! If you try one Italian in London, make it this. Has transitioned so perfectly to takeaway food where other have failed - exceptional quality, authenticity and such friendly service.

We have ordered a takeaway (Combo for 2) from Maestri della Pasta today (14/06/2020) and we couldn't be more disappointed. Apart from the fact that the order came through quick there is nothing good we can say about it. For £30 we got 2 small bottles of Peroni (admittedly, the best part of the meal), 2 Tiramisus (which weren't too bad, shamely one of them came with a bit of an open lid and it got spilled a little in one of the bags), 2 bruschettas - disgraceful, and two pastas - also disgraceful. Now, the reason we say that - bruschetta was just a half bun (not grilled or anything) with chopped tomato with herbs sprinkled on top and some lettuce. No taste to it whatsoever. As for the pasta - we went for carbonara and bolognese. Both came with penne pasta (and a rather large one) instead of a spaghetti, which we were expecting. There was a very little sauce on either of the portions and the pasta was definitely not fresh. Definitely not worth £30, won't be ordering from there again.

Czyste, przyjemne miejsce z bardzo uprzejmą i pomocną obsługa z możliwością podładowania telefonu. Carbonara była trochę niedosolona, za to Bolognese było w porządku. Cenowo bardzo ok.

The atmospere and the service was excellent. Cozy, new place with very nice design & really helpfull staff. Bravo!!! The menu was also nice, as you can find every day different plates of pasta which are tastefull. The one that we didn't like so much was the salad. Maybe we will try another one the next time. Our overall experience was good for our lunch break.

During my study holiday in London, my relatives came to visit me. I decided to take them for lunch at this Italian restaurant which is very convenient to reach by tube. Ingredients strictly of Italian origin, fresh handmade pasta and friendly staff, a blend of quality that was appreciated by all my relatives. Positive experience, I will definitely go back there, even alone.

The real pasta, the symbol of made in Italy, finally in London.... I went to this place because it was recommended by an English colleague. The quality of the ingredients is indisputable. The ingredients used are strictly of Italian origin and are immediately recognizable, their taste is incomparable. When the quality of the ingredients is combined with the love and respect that is given to the food, the game is done, chef's dish, 5 stars no doubt... The restaurant is an open-space, I could see directly in the kitchen the preparation of my dish, a sign od total transparency and seriousness towards the customer. What else? The location is great, it's only 160 ft from Borough Tube Station (Northern line). Borough Station is the stop after London Bridge, nothing more convenient, quality food in the city centre of London.

Had soup and toasted sandwich. Staff really friendly and full after my meal. Clean and quick

The best tiramusu I've ever tasted... The pasta was delicious and very friendly staff.. Loved it.

Went here as I work nearby and was excited for a pasta option for lunch. I'm quite a foodie and Padella and Officina 00 are high on my list of pasta places in London that I'm impressed with. The pasta here is pretty decent, but given the casual nature of the place (order at counter, cutlery in a plastic wrapper) it shouldn't cost £7.50-£10 for a small portion of pasta. And you're missing out by not doing a lunch takeout special in the £5-6 mark, as you'd get lots of customers I think given the offices in the area and the lack of choices nearby for pasta!

Upon entering the shop you are welcomed by the very polite and helpful staff, who will be able to talk you through the choice of fresh pasta. I ordered a small portion of Spinach and Ricotta pasta (I counted 11 raviolis...). The flavour and texture were genuinely some of the best ravioli I have had, from the texture of the pasta, flavourful fillings and tasty sauce. Nothing overly complicated and nice simple as it should be. My only gripe, is that for £7.00, the value of the order seems fairly off for what essentially filled half a small box. There are a few local market stalls/ shops nearby that also sell pasta at £5-8 for larger quantities. So I would recommend if you are in for quality pasta, but if it is a filling meal you seek, I would suggest other places around the Borough.

Excellent Italian restaurant. The staff is friendly and attentive. The food is delicious as they make their own fresh pasta and sauces. The restaurant is clean and in an excellent location.
