Had great food and a lovely service during my lunch at the restaurant. I'd previously ordered takeaway delivery from this restaurant but was passing by and decided to stop to dine-in. Glad I did. Enjoyed the rasam vadai, and a uttapham. The restaurant was accommodating with my request to make my uttapham with vegetable oil instead of ghee. Looking forward to dining in here again soon.

We went Monday eve. It was quiet and only one staff present who was doing everything. We ordered dosa which was delicious. Mango lassi was too sweet. Sambar and coconut chutney was good.

A touch of garlic spice or a bolder seasoning could elevate this dish and add depth to the okra. Mains: The mains were the highlight of the meal. The Paneer Butter Masala and Butter Chicken were bursting with authentic flavors, beautifully balanced with spice and richness. We appreciated that the restaurant was accommodating in adjusting the spice level to our preference, a gesture that made the dishes even more enjoyable. The paneer was soft and well-marinated, while the butter chicken was rich and indulgent without being overwhelming. To accompany the curries, we opted for parathas and chapatis instead of naan. The parathas were exceptional—fluffy, crispy, and perfect for scooping up the flavorful gravies. The chapatis were also skillfully prepared, light, and satisfying. However, there were minor lapses as the meal progressed. For instance, cutlery was not provided initially and took some time to arrive even after we requested it. While it wasn't a busy evening, a little more attentiveness from the staff would have enhanced the overall experience. Drinks and Dessert: To round off the meal, we tried the masala chai, which was a perfect finish. Its robust, spiced flavor provided a comforting and authentic end to the meal. Overall Impressions: Madras Accent delivered an impressive dining experience with its authentic flavors and thoughtful menu. While there are areas for improvement, such as seasoning adjustments for certain dishes and more consistent service, the quality of the food and the inviting atmosphere make it a place worth revisiting. Lovely food, nice vibe, great service

Last night ordered idlis. The delivery was very quick (less than 30mins for ~5 miles) but the idlis provided were stale and upset my tummy. In the past we have a good experience when dine-in but this time MasrasAscent took undue advantage and provided food items of poor quality and substandard. Please see to it

The Chicken Schezwan Fried Rice was smoky and packed with spice, while the Chilli Prawn had a perfect blend of tang and heat, with juicy, well-cooked prawns. The attentive service added to the experience, making it memorable. Definitely planning to come back again!

Madras accent has some really good dosas to try! My personal favourite is the Mysore masala dosa followed with a cup of ginger tea. To south indians in Bromley who miss some authentic south Indian food must give this place a visit :) Kudos to the staff who work really hard and serve the food with a smile on their face, your doing an amazing job 👍🏻✨

Great food, just the right amount of spice and authentic sambar! The uthappam was great and felt like home ✨💕 Chilli paneer was a banger, definitely coming back for it. Not great. Had biriani very dry hardly any lanmb and had a cold boiled egg in the middle of the rice, not seen that before.

I don't often review on Google but felt I should share my experience of Madras Accent. It's a small place, which really works to it's benefit. Makes it feel personal and intimate. The food is amazing, and offers a departure from the usual British Indian cuisine. I'm a big fan of dosa, which is a staple of their menu and which they do exceptionally well. Staff are attentive, helpful and polite. I've lived in the area for many years and this is, regrettably, the first time I have visited. I will certainly be going back again.

Really quality food and excellent service would recommend this

The dosa was soggy. The chicken was dry. The sauces didn't taste like anything. The veg curry was so watery we couldn't eat it and had hardly and vegetables in it! Not even a potato! I actually couldn't believe what I'd paid 25 pounds for. I won't be going here again.

Lovely authentic Tamil restaurant in the most unlikely of places. Presentation caters to the standard western audience with paintings of rickshaws and MGR, knives and forks, and pretty little pots and dishes. But the taste is undeniably Madras. I come here when I’m craving a Mysore masala dosa or filter coffee. They also do some Indochinese food which is super convenient. The service was very attentive and timely.

This place is a gem! If you’re after authentic top quality delicious South Indian cuisine, you need to come here. Try the Dosa’s and the superb Thali.

We had an amazing experience at Madras Accent. The food was really tasty and took us back to India. It is hard to find such restaurants with the authentic Indian taste in the UK. Highly recommend. They also do a variety of options of Kizhi Porotta as well.

Most disappointing dining experience ever. Apparently they don't even allow outside water even for kids as they sell water! Horrible service and rude staff.

My wife and I recently had a disappointing experience with Madras Accent. We called the restaurant to inquire about their advertised Onam Sadya, and a staff member named Kamalesh directed us to place the order through their website. However, we encountered issues with the website, so we called back to report the problem. Unfortunately, our call was left on hold for nearly 15 minutes without any response. We attempted to call back nine times but found the line was busy each time. Eventually, we were informed that the Sadya was sold out. Still hopeful, we tried calling once more using my wife’s phone, and this time the staff mentioned that dining was available. Trusting this information, we went to the restaurant around 1:30 PM. Upon arrival, we were asked to wait. After a lengthy wait, Kamalesh informed us that the Sadya was available only through pre-orders. This crucial information should have been communicated when we first arrived, rather than making us wait outside. a restaurant, orders should typically be available upon arrival rather than requiring pre-orders. If pre-orders are necessary, this should be clearly stated in their advertising . I then requested a seat for my wife, as she is pregnant and couldn't stand for long. With no other option, we ended up ordering fried rice and pepper chicken. This whole experience was incredibly frustrating. If Madras Accent is organizing events like this, it is essential to communicate clearly that pre-orders are required. Moreover, if they run out of food, they should promptly inform customers. A humble suggestion: the staff should be trained to handle phone inquiries professionally and be well-informed about the menu and any special event operations, especially during significant occasions like Onam. The Onam Sadya is an important meal on this day and the lack of proper coordination and communication was extremely disappointing.

Really bad experience, it was the first and the last time going there, had to wait for 45 min to get the food, small portion even the bread was too little for 4£ parata. Never visit this restaurant again. Truly waste of 70£

Had a horrible experience at Madras Accent - Onam Sadhya today . Although we had booked a table we were made to wait 20 minutes for the table and after being seated the waiter who was extremely disorganized took 45 minutes to even take our order. He took the order of people who arrived after us and even bought them dishes other than the Sadhya. He took our order for dishes other than the sadhya too and after 30 minutes comes and tells us only the sadhya is available. When confronted why the others receive it and we couldn't , he says the kitchen says so. And after more than 90 minutes our sadhya arrives in 10 minutes interval and guess what... all the dishes are piled up in a plate and the quantity was so less that even my 11 year old will eat more. I literally received a tea spoon of Aviyal and 3 table spoons of rice and we were said that no seconds are given. The plates missed dishes from one and another and clearly unappealing. All this for 20 pounds plus service charges 🙄 Clearly avoid

Took over 1.5 hours to receive the order even though we live down the road. The food arrived cold. We called the restaurant to complain who accused us of lying. The parotta we ordered was soggy and inedible. Truly a waste of £50...

I tried Kizhi biriyani and masala dosa. Biriyani quality wise average. But I was wondered about the quantity. Because, the biriyani is like half compared to a normal biriyani. I don’t recommend this restaurant because, its like cash burning centre. Its ok to pay for good food, but they have to show minimum responsibility to customers who paying money. Not only for biriyani but also they are charging extra money for sambar and chutney. The exciting part is they are charging 2 pound for a pappadam and its payable when buying biriyani. And for a 350ml coke its 3.25pounds… Good work to the management.. you will earn a lot

My wife and I have talked about trying Madras Accent for a long time and finally have it ago today. As it turned out, the food was great as we had heard - authentic and delicate Indian flavours and dishes that aren't available in most other Indian restaurants in South East London. I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for real Indian flavours rather than generic curry house dishes.

Okay, so we read a lot of good things about Madras Accent so we decided to give it a shot. Turns out, the non-veg thali was the only thing that really hit the spot. While the non-vegetarian thali was a highlight, the other dishes proved disappointing. The chicken biryani, in particular, was meager, featuring only a single piece of chicken and a boiled egg. The chicken chukka, though flavorful, was overly onion-heavy and contained a limited number of small pieces of chicken.** The dahi papdi chaat was also underwhelming. While the non-vegetarian thali offered good value, the overall quality of the food was inconsistent.** The servers were nice, but it took forever to get our food.

Wonderful Tamil (South Indian) restaurant. The food is very similar to what you get back home in India, so it's as authentic as it gets. My 3 year old loved the food too. We are vegetarians and had plenty of options to choose from. Overall, we had a wonderful, toddler approved meal
