Great little cafe, go at least once a week sometimes more. Good choice of menu, food always good, owner and staff very pleasant, a little gem of a cafe, would not go anywhere else.

After paying for my food, I had to wait more than 30 minutes for my lunch, during which all the other customers apart from one were served with their cooked orders before me. The only other customer who didn't get served their food before me also had to wait more than 20 minutes for his food, and this was AFTER the busy period had ended. His wife's order was served, but his was forgotten about, until he asked where his food was, by which time, his wife had almost finished her meal. I found this quite strange, as the couple had both ordered their food at the same time. Bad organisation. There was no acknowledgement of my lunch order being served so late, and no apology either. It made me so late getting home, that I missed my Amazon delivery by 30 minutes, which could have been avoided if my time hadn't been wasted. Being delayed by so much also prevented me from doing the other things that I needed to do for that day, because of a lack of time. The Manager of this Cafe has already replaced the cook since my previous visit, but this will be my final visit here, as the Manager is either oblivious to his incompetent cook, or he just doesn't care. This Cafe is also the most expensive one in the area, which only compounds the already poor service here. P.S. - When I first began eating here, the Manager took 6 weeks to display his opening times, which repeatedly meant that he would close the Cafe early so often, that I started eating elsewhere, due to his unreliability.

Would highly recommend this café, the staff are very friendly and helpful and nothing is too much trouble for them. The full english breakfast is excellent value for the price, the food is cooked on the premises to order, very fresh ingredients, and excellent flavour, not greasy that you get on some breakfasts, will definitely be going again.

I would recommend this cafe to everyone. Please pay a visit to Mado Cafe in Newcastle under Lyme high street. My husband and I went there today for coffee and having been impressed with the place when we walked in, we decided that we would stay a while. We had the soup of the day, which was lentil with a Turkish twist. The owner and his staff were so warm and welcoming. The owner explained before and after the soup, what it entailed and what was put in it to give it that special twist. He was amazing, so approachable and pleasant. The decor is beautiful and the music was, I think, a bit like Jazz, so do you don't get your ears blasted out and you can hold a decent conversation, the ambience is amazing. Please do visit, it was well worth it. Great place and we will be back.

a nice spot with good views over the local area ordered a steak that was so tough I couldn’t cut into it even with a steak knife left 80% of it as I couldn’t cut any more chunks off to try and it came with chips that looked ok but had not been blanced before being deep fried so i had to leave those to had decided to go on the basis of other reviews we were not expecting anything other than good basic food but left very dissapointed the items on the menu looked interesting with a good selection at reasonable prices but what we ate was fairly inedible, will not be going back

Have came up to this area for a few days and was looking for somewhere to go to grab breakfast or lunch. We found the place easily enough with the sat nav and when we drove in, there is a flag outside the main door saying GG's care now open. We went inside and were met by a very pleasant lady by the name of Pearl who tells us that the place doesn't open on a Monday. This is despite it saying on other sites, including their own that it's open 9am-2pm. Please update your information to save other people needless trips.

So delicious! Went in for brunch/late breakfast, we had double bacon, sausage&egg oatcakes. Cooked perfectly! My only downpoint is the seating area could of done with a mop of the floor. Returning very soon! A bonus point for the free chocolate pikelets!x

Great friendly pub with good cosy atmosphere. Staff are friendly and efficient. Food is o erall very yood though prices like most places have increased. Paid £19 for a mixed grill which was basically a cooked breakfast with peas and a very small steak. No chicken portion and steak only 4oz though have to say was cooked beautifully . One of party had his usual liver and mash though we could see gravy looked a bit congealed and not the dark lovely usual. We gave feedback to Mike behind bar but don't think he believed us or wanted to accept any feedback that was slightly negative though to be fair he did say he was sorry if that was our opinion. Would return but bit more careful about what order.
