Madha in Glasgow City

Me and My friend went in for a curry takeaway since it was around their closing time but ended up having an amazing full course dinner. The service and food, both exceptional. Coming from the Southern part of India, I guarantee for their authentic Kerala cuisine which I never found anywhere in Glasgow. The manager Joseph made us feel home away from home and we wont forget Deepesh, for his excellent service. Can’t wait to visit and will definitely recommend more people. ❤️

Attentive service and excellent authentic Indian food. Super vegan friendly - they really cared about making sure you were fully catered for. Also great sharing platters if you’re into that kind of thing!

I recently visited Madha in Glasgow and had an amazing experience. I ordered the Masala Dosa, and it truly reminded me of home. Fui a Madha Kitchen por casualidad mientras exploraba las animadas calles del centro de Glasgow, y me alegro de haberlo hecho! El restaurante es realmente una joya escondida, ofreciendo una cálida bienvenida con aroma picante. El personal fue rápido en la recepción, explicar sobre el menú y mencionó que todos los platos están libres de colorantes artificiales o conservantes añadidos, lo que me hizo mucho feliz que voy a una comida más caliente. El menú es una deliciosa mezcla de cocinas del sur y norte de la India, comencé con dosa crujiente con chutney y vada son mucho más auténticos como lo tuve de kerala. The food was really amazing ! I had a dosa and paneer chettinada , was so authentic. Dipesh explained whole menu and Help me out professionally to choose my meal! He was very kind and impressive person . I am new here in the area as a student he explained me and guided me for student journey and life long lesson as well!! Enjoyed the authentic food a lot and the company as well!! Will visit soon !!

Decided to try this Indian based on previous reviews. My husband is coeliac so finding this gem was great. Our waiter was very friendly, professional and knowledgeable. He suggested dishes to have based on our desired tastes. Lovely experience, food high standard and I would highly recommend.

Excelente, auténtica comida india con un montón de especialidades del sur de la India que no encontrará en la mayoría de los restaurantes indios en Escocia. Los platos siempre tienen una sensación muy saludable, cocinados en casa y sin curry homogéneo aquí; los platos son totalmente diferentes entre sí y de lo que encontrará en otros lugares. Joseph es un anfitrión increíble que realmente se preocupa por sus huéspedes y quiere que disfruten de su comida y su increíble hospitalidad. Un hombre encantador y comida fabulosa!

Increíbles cocinas Kerala, probé el meen polichatu y el asado de ternera Kerala era tan delicioso. Sin duda recomendaría este hotel , encima de esto la hospitalidad que Jospeh y sus empleados son encomiables , fue una experiencia absoluta cenar en Madha , muy recomendable

My wife and I decided to have some lunch here, having reviewed the menu in the window. We were greeted in a very friendly manner, and the decor of the restaurant enhanced the friendly atmosphere. The young man who served us was attentive, but not pushy, and was more than willing to answer questions about the restaurant and the food. The food was superb, and we both thoroughly enjoyed our lunch. We will definitely be back the next time we visit Glasgow.

Absolutely delightful dining experience tonight at Madha Restaurant, Glasgow - the authenticity of the flavors truly shines through in every dish and the service was prompt. I can confidently say that I'll be thinking about the perfectly spiced, succulent Achari Chicken Kebab here for a very long time! Will definitely be returning!

A majority of Indian restaurants serve the usual North Indian cuisine of butter chicken, chicken tikka masala etc. Madha was just across the street from our hotel- the South Indian cuisine immediately drew us in. The owner, Mr. Joseph, greeted us, chatted with us for some time, and we sat down to enjoy idli-vada, dosas - one stuffed with the typical masala of a potato mixture, the other with a delicious spiced chicken. The dishes are from Kerala in South India. He also recommended a whole sea bream stuffed with a seasoned chutney and baked in a banana leaf! The cardamom kulfi for dessert was just the perfect way to finish this wonderful meal. We plan on having another meal before we leave in a few days. If you are in Glasgow would definitely recommend coming to Merchant Square to enjoy and have a meal.

I walked past 4 other Indian restaurants at around 10.15pm on a mid week evening and all said they were closed or just about to close. I went to past Madha and asked if they were still open. A member of staff politely said i’m sorry we are closed. As I walked past the owner Joseph came after me and said.. we are still open for hungry people. I was blown away with his kindness as I was the last person in there. I had the Thoran with rice and a side dish. The food was incredible but I’ll remember the owner not only for his kindness but his passion for his restaurant. There was a large selection of meat, vegetarian and vegan dishes. This is a must visit if you are in Glasgow.

What a wonderful experience. My family and I were wandering around Glasgow and we decided we wanted some good Indian food. We googled some restaurants that happened upon Madha. The gentleman working, I am not certain if he was the owner or not, was very pleasant and seated us rapidly. We asked for suggestions because some of us like spicy and some of us don’t and he picked out the perfect dishes for us. He was very accommodating. The place was clean and I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Arrived not familiar with the menu but the very helpful staff recommended a couple of options based on our discussion. Excellent food, very tasty. Very friendly and helpful staff in comfortable surroundings. Prices all reasonable too. Can’t wait to return.

I selected this restaurant for my birthday meal. We were a party of four. Greeted by the lovely team headed up by Joseph. The menu was lovely and Joseph guided us through it taking our orders without a notepad, whilst offering recommendations based on your palette. The food arrived as ordered and was absolutely delightful, full of flavour and good size portions. Joseph spent time with us throughout the meal but sharing stories and making us welcome. This did not encroach on our fining experience but it helped with the overall friendly feel the restaurant strived upon. Joseph shared his love of single malts with my other half who tasted one of Joseph’s bottles. A very welcoming experience. Full of flavoursome food. A fine dining experience I would thoroughly recommend. Thank you for your hospitality.

Discovered this hidden gem when searching for a venue for 17th February. Most places were fully booked but this one was able to accommodate us. From the moment we arrived we were treated like long lost friends despite never having been before. The famous Indian hospitality was to the fore as the owner Joseph and his team made us feel very welcome. Joseph especially made an effort to talk with us and explain the menu, even making recommendations. He managed to take orders for four for drinks, starters, main courses (with amendments) without writing these down, and they arrived as ordered. The food itself was excellent and plentiful. I would recommend the spicy popadoms in particular. We even got to discussion on whisky and I thoroughly enjoyed the recommendation of an Indian malt to finish off the visit. I would highly recommend this place if you fancy some authenticity in Indian food.

My go to now for Indian food now in Glasgow. This place is a hidden gem. Best Naan ever had, best rice, best lamb curry ever.

Very friendly and attentive staff. Amazing food, great portions, we always need a takeaway box. The food is so tasty we can't bring ourselves to skip the starters. Quick service. We've been eating here for 8 years. Great selection of dishes that you don't usually see in other restaurants.

We were a group of 5 eating before a Celtic Connections gig. Although we were a bit late due to heavy traffic the lovely waiter still allowed us to choose from the pre-theatre menu and gave good recommendations. We really enjoyed our meal....the food was delicious and dishes were far more interesting and varied than most standard curry houses. Lots of great veggie and vegan options and good value too. Highly recommended and we'll definitely return!

Booked for a birthday for table of 6 on a Saturday night the night before so we're appreciative that they had space. However, when we arrived it was clear they were understaffed. It took 20mins to take a drinks order, and a further 20 to take a food order, despite being told when taking the drinks that we were ready to order food. Got a sharing started for 2 at £15 but it was frankly pathetic. 2 onion bhaji, one lamb roll cut in to 3, 2 pieces of chicken the size of a finger and 2 small prawns. I wish I had taken a picture to add but as it was a birthday didn't want to ruin the more further after the ridiculous wait for food. One of the party ordered masala poppadoms for over £5 but there was nothing different about them save some chopped tomatoes on top. Mains arrived and again, portion size was small, although the flavour was fine, nothing exceptional but nice enough. Booked at 630 and at 9 we had literally just finished eating the main and had to ask for the bill immediately due to another booking. Actually staff were pleasant and taste of food was fine, they allowed us to drop off a birthday balloon for the table. However service time was terrible, extremely overpriced and the quantity was very poor, particularly for an Indian! They did present a massively oversized dosa as an apology which was a nice gesture. See plenty of positive reviews but unfortunately cannot concur - they could not cope with the booking and the price was at least double what it was worth.

We dine here regularly and the food and sevice was up to the usual high standard, the starts are on the generous side so we usually share one as the main course portions are large so end up having a doggy bag and can vouch thats is just as good next day. We had melt in the mouth lamb bhuna and a wonderfully moist chicken accompanied by rice and naan, Joseph never disappoints, he knows what we like and the spiciness we can handle, we never use a menu just ask Joseph for his recommendation, this is a maitre d that is top of his game and can still surprise with another gem.

It’s been a while since I last visited and it still hits the high standard it reached before. Always a warm welcome to this restaurant and although it was quiet when we arrived it soon got busy, once you have visited you’ll know why, when you know, you know! We went with the pre theatre menu as the options were wide and varied even for us. The quality of food was excellent, we really couldn’t fault any of the food, the lamb and chicken dishes we ordered were excellent. Service throughout was faultless, friendly and very efficient, I can’t really add anything more than that. The best value pre theatre menu in Glasgow by my reckoning and for me the best Indian restaurant in the area. Already planning our next visit in a weeks time.

This place reminds me of Indian street food. Which we have been missing for a long time. The spicy desi taste was so delicious that it couldn't be beat. We were there to try Indian food with friends. Highly recommended by our friends and family for the desi taste. Masala Dosa, Soya Varutha, Aloo Gobi and Paneer Makhani were so good🤌🤌 😌!! The staff was very friendly and helpful. Even if you are confused about the dish, they have helped us to give a perfect option from the menu according to our taste. A perfect place to dine with friends and make memories. Finally we also had gulab jamun with a killer combination of ice cream. We had a wonderful dinner at the wonderful place. The staff was really friendly and nice to all customers.

The mutton biriyani at this Indian restaurant is absolutely exquisite! The flavors are rich and aromatic, with tender pieces of mutton that melt in your mouth. The rice is perfectly cooked and fragrant, and the spices are balanced just right. Each bite is a delightful explosion of taste that leaves you craving for more. The portion size is generous, and the presentation is beautiful. The staff were attentive and friendly, especially Joseph the owner taking good care of me and my friends providing excellent service. This restaurant has truly mastered the art of making the perfect mutton biriyani. Highly recommended!

Excellent dining experience with my husband at Madha tonight. Joseph was knowledgeable, attentive and very kind. We were not familiar with some of the menu items, and he helped us choose the most suitable dishes. Every dish was delicious- well prepared and used the finest of ingredients. We got an Indian flavored gin and tonic and the chicken 65 for starters. For the main course we got a a dish with duck meat and another with lamb. Followed this up with freshly made gulab jamun with Indian vanilla ice cream, and ended the meal with a strong, rich and flavorful cup of Indian filter coffee. Amazing dining experience. Folks, if you haven’t tried Madha, you’re missing out. We highly recommend it and wish Joseph the best.

If you are looking for a good curry, then DON'T go here. Very small starters and my Lamb Bhuna was tough. It was certainly overpriced as well. I won't be back.

The food here is the real deal! My Nadan Adou was a revelation - subtle flavours hitting the taste buds in a succession of spices perfectly balanced to bring out the taste of the lamb. Just the right amount of heat for me too. Everything we ate was just so good! Nice, friendly staff who clearly care about preparing fresh tasty and real Indian food. I have had lots of good curries in Glasgow but this one tops the list.

An absolute delight at Madha Restaurant! The Palappam was airy, the Malabar Parotta perfectly flaky, while the Beef Roast and Chicken Stew were bursting with flavor. The tenderness of the meats paired with the speedy service made the experience unforgettable. The attentive and welcoming staff added to the overall charm. Exceptional food and first class service. We really enjoyed our vegan meals, the lovely craft beer and were served by very attentive and knowledgeable staff. We will be back soon.

Great location in the heart of merchant city and an amazing place for food. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable of the menu, explaining various things and making suggestions which were all great too. The menu is quite different to the 'Scottish Indian Restaurants' I'm used to but we all enjoyed this much more. I couldn't pick any fault and will definitely return soon. thanks
