A most excellent lunch served by incredibly polite and lovely staff. I so enjoyed the food and was mightily impressed with the lovely team Ionela, the manager, who could not do more to make one welcome and Ciaron, Antonina and Safiya all of whom was just so professional, polite and helpful. Absolutely faultless. My thanks to all. Excellent.

I visited MBB for Sunday lunch with my partner, in laws and 1 year old baby this weekend. We had a table booked for 1.30pm. Our server promptly took our order. By 2.30pm our food still hadn't arrived and the baby was becoming restless in her high chair. The hostess offered her apologies and asked if we would like complimentary drinks to which she proceeded to tell me that "You're Irish, of course you will have another drink"... which I did not find amusing. The food finally arrived at 3pm and of course, they had forgotten the babies food order! The food was tasty but the speed of service was so awful that it ruined our lunch. Will not be visiting again. It is unfortunate as we are locals and have had good experiences there in the past.

MBB used to be Bob’s, now it part of the hotel next door. I wondered why it was unusually empty. My partner had the crab and salmon fish cake in which the dominant flavours were garlic and salmon - not a skerrick of crab. My daughter ordered a crispy cabbage salad and polenta - no crunch whatsoever and the polenta was inedible. I had a venison burger which was ok but a bit bland. The burger and fish cake were £19 and £19.50 which was way expensive. The service was very slow, at least 25 minutes wait in an empty restaurant. Poor Bob’s. Richard F

We found this gem of a brasserie when looking for a local restaurant to have lunch, as we're are somewhat allergic to chains. The food is excellent, on the pricey side but the Table d'Hote set menu is very good value. Staff were really friendly and helpful.

I was visiting Cirencester with family and a baby and MBB Brasserie were very accommodating to seating us where I could park the pram. The staff were so lovely and friendly and made us feel so welcome. The food was amazing, my husband and I had the steak which was cooked to perfection. As it was my birthday, they even went out of their way to put a little candle on my pudding which was such a lovely touch.

Cold and rainy day in Cirencester was reflected in the dismal salad. What would you expect with "Brussel Sprout Salad"? Except ... brussels were off. So was the advertised kimchi. Hispi cabbage came in an enormous wedge - al dente, if you're a horse - unfortunately, I had to miss it out, since my knife was taken away with the soup course and not replaced. So all that was left was the radicchio and sad grey green broccoli. £19 the lot.

We visited MBB today for lunch. Our first impression were the prices that could easily go with a 2 star Michelins restaurant. After we got the lunch we were impressed by the presentation I would give it a 4 out of 5. But the reality hit me after the first bite the chicken and veggies were taste and salt less. The chicken had a slide rotten taste and it was a hard old chick which were here for its pension after laying eggs for years without end. The over all rating for food its 1.25 out of 5. Positive was the nice service.

Of the three courses ordered (from the set lunch menu) every course was very disappointing. First course: white onion soup, severed luke warm and lacking depth of flavour. Second course was meant to be linguini pasta with beef and mushrooms : this appeared as tagliatelle but was told by the waiter it was papardelle. Confused. The beef was inedible, was full of gristle and utterly tough and dry. To be fair, the mushrooms and pasta were delicious and the dish would have been saved had the meat been omitted. Such a pity! My Eton mess was a version with orange, but contained hardly any fruit, except for a few small chopped up bits of orange on top in addition to the ice cream and fragments of meringue: overly sweet, not at all creative, or balanced. My guests ordered poached pears with vanilla ice cream - this was served with a poached plum and one small scoop of ice cream., ie not as advertised on the menu.and not what they wanted. The bill was reduced by a third. The fact there were so many errors is alarming.

We used to love this place, not any more, Bob where have you gone, you are much missed. We came for lunch and found the whole experience lacking. It no longer has the buzzy brasserie feel. Service was cold and too formal. Food was Ok but a wrong main was delivered and then had to wait for the correct one and when it arrived no cutlery to go with it. I informed them of an allergy at the beginning of the meal and it was missed. Not good enough. Wont be back.

The food was amazing. The venue is soooo well presented. We had such high hopes having read good reviews. BUT…..I’m sorry but the service was not up to scratch. A huge disappointment, each time we wanted another drink or had a query we struggled to get anyone’s attention…..we felt neglected!!! Even when my husband went to find someone on the entrance stand and asked for the bill because we hadn’t managed to get the drinks we ordered. They still didn’t act quickly, he told them he was disappointed and still no effort to make things better before we left. We didn’t have desert because no one came to clear our table or ask if we wanted any. We all have our birthdays in one week, this was our night out to celebrate…… a shame we left disappointed.

If it didn't rain that evening we wouldn't have dinned at this restaurant. We went into the small shopping crescent where the restaurant is and decided to have dinner there. It was a nice surprise, we like the ambience. My husband had the burger and I had venison. They put cumin in the burger, not really for me but venison was great, abundant of meat with very tasty potato dumplings. We had a very nice time there.

We visited made by Bob today for a family gathering. we were hopeful for a delightful experience, but unfortunately it couldn’t be any further from enjoyable. Initially we were welcomed into the restaurant and quickly seated placed an order for drinks which came to the table fairly quickly. After being seated for over 30 minutes, the waiter finally came over and took our order. After another 20 minutes appetisers arrived, which were only olives. A main course arrived at the table over an hour and 20 minutes later, the waitress just put the food on the table but failed to ask if we needed anything more. The table to the left of us placed a complaint because they found a chicken bone in the soup and the table was vegetarian. We were pretty shocked. After we finished our main course we placed an order for desserts another 45 minutes past desserts came out but we’re completely wrong. We could not wait any longer and decided to leave. overall a completely disappointing experience and will not be returning. The kings head has really gone downhill recently. Poor service long, wait times and the quality of the food was not great.

This restaurant is now a long way from its glory days when it was Made By Bob and run by Bob Parkinson. 3 of us went for lunch this week. Choosing from the Prix Fixe menu should have been trouble free, as chef would be expecting a lot of orders for the 2 starters and 2 mains, and we were early lunch service (12.30). While the soup was fine, the Chicken Kiev that 2 of us ordered was very disappointing. It was overcooked and therefore very hard, stringy and dry, with only a tiny smattering of dried out Kiev filling. Service was a little inattentive and cold - going through the motions a bit. Unable to attract one of 3 servers' attention, I had to wander off to ask for knives for the main course, the only other knives having been correctly removed with the starter plates. I asked the chef to be told about the mains and checked when paying that he had been told. No offer was made to deduct the service charge or otherwise reduce the bill - of course I could have asked, but that is not quite the point. We used to use the restaurant quite a lot in days gone by and we were keen to return having not been for quite a while. What a disappointment.

Then a man said he just had to put an order through & then he would be with us. We waited. He then took some food out to customers but had to bring it back as it was missing something. Then he came to us….looked at our small & very patient sausage dog & pointed to a grubby table that was in cleared & said that was all he could offer us because we had a dog with us. I said he could have mentioned this sooner to avoid us waiting & he just shrugged- appalling behaviour- we went elsewhere.

Met a friend who suggested this brasserie as she had been before and thought it was good. However my choice of fish cake was just that - one fish cake, no veg or salad. If I hadn’t ordered a side of veg it would have been just the fish! My friend ordered the chick pea salad. Looked like they had just tipped 2 tins of chick peas onto the dish and added a few grilled small tomatoes. Once she had eaten the tomatoes with a few chick peas she was just left with an unappetising plate of chick peas. She complained but the response was “that’s how it is always served”. When asked if we wanted anything else we asked for hot drinks but that we would not be paying for them. We did get the drinks and did not have to pay for them or the service charge. However, we each paid £22 for this extremely disappointing lunch.

We arrived at the Brasserie at around 1pm, the place already had a genuinely buzzing atmosphere. We got promptly seated to a corner table (perfect for people watching) with a great view of the open kitchen where, the chefs seemed to enjoy themselves, alongside the waiters and waitresses. This in itself is rather rare nowadays and hugely appreciated! I’m thinking, this is going to be good! We had the homemade terrine to share followed by the meatiest muscles I’ve ever seen and sampled. Came with a local cider and light cream sauce. The muscles were, wait for it, £24. However 2nd “wait for it”: one entire kilo’s worth! It came in an old school cast iron dish which I loved, a hot water and lemon thing for your sticky fingers, and a delightfully grilled homemade sourdough bread. Magical! Now I’m 6ft tall, and a good eater. I could not finish them. I question whether i did not have 1 1/2 kilo!! Regardless, super delicious. Normally you get really silly tiny ones not worth the effort… We had with our lunch, a non alcoholic cocktail (Aperol Spritz) with proper non alcoholic spirits (not carton juices mixed together) and equally a surprise. Staff were super pleasant, smiley, and nothing was too much work. Genuinely really like this place. Apparently they recently opened for breakfast…see you boys and girls next week! Exciting stuff, and thank you.

People leaving bad reviews clearly don’t have any idea what it’s like working in hospitality at the moment. We found the staff to be lovely, helpful, hard working. The food was outstanding, the mushroom ravioli is to die for. It’s got a lovely ambience and...

Haven’t been here for a long time. Used to be very good when Bob ran the kitchen. My meal today, burger, was over cooked, dry and tasteless. Service was awful. Staff seemed totally demotivated. Service charge added to bill !! You must be joking. Something...

Disappointing, disinterested staff, no atmosphere. Fish soup good but the burger was very overcooked and tasteless. Brioche burger bun not a good choice. Had to wait 45 mins before olives were brought to the table! Very slow service.

Service was friendly, if slow and the place was quite full and the ambience was pleasant. Unfortunately, the crab and haddock cakes I had were tiny, like 2 camel droppings, overcooked and dry. £12. Obviously, I have not eaten camel droppings, but googling them it...

You can’t go wrong with Made by Bob, it’s a favourite of hours. We had the MBB Fish Soup, which was lovely; however the “fish” soup had muscles and calamari in it. I would call this seafood soup. We didn’t want muscles and calamari, we...

Lovely attentive staff, but sadly food ranged from good to awful. Timings were way out too. We only wanted mains and a dessert but had to wait almost an hour for any food at all. I think initially there was a confusion with the order....

Nice atmosphere, staff attentive and food of a good quality. However, the menu choices are limited and I’m not a fan of supplementing small portions by having to also order sides which should be included in the price of the meal - eg chips. Very...

Nice casual restaurant, waiting staff very attentive. Food and wine were really good. Well worth a visit. We visited midweek and it was pretty busy which is a good sign

We stayed in SotW for a friends wedding locally. It appeared everyone had come upto the Cotswolds for wedding that weekends at the White Hart was our 5th attempt at finding a spot for dinner - turns out 5th time lucky it was! We had lovely service throughout dinner, fantastic food in a really lovely dining room. Would strongly recommend, nice selection of drinks and main meals, could well be a lovely spot for dinner for two or small groups as well visiting the area.

Fresh food, great service, child friendly too, what more could you want from a restaurant serving Sunday Lunch. We've just come back from Sunday Lunch at Roots + Seeds in Cirencester. Crispy beer batter on the fish, really chunky chips (not fries) silky smooth mushy peas pretty much a perfect combination. The young front of house team have been well trained to make everyone feel welcome too.

A lovely tea shop on the High St. I sat outside the front on the limited pavement seating. The staff were lovely and the food well presented. The pasty was though expensive and there was no wow factor. The ice bun was heavy and sticky. The coffee was delicious. Would return but not spend so much.
