We went today and had lunch. It’s a beautiful location, overlooking the canal. The ladies in the cafe are really friendly and the food was great and the service was quick. We will definitely be back soon!

Not overly busy but really slow service. took over 50mins for food to arrive, when we asked after 40mins how long they said its cooked fresh to order! The food was OK but served in chipped bowls. The location is lovely but it wasn't anything special. Personally, slow service, average food and over priced for what we got but lovely location.

We sat outside in the garden as it was a rare sunny day in January. We stopped on our dog walk for a drink and a sausage for the dog. Lovely staff excellent prices and dog friendly. Views of the canal and plenty of places to sit outside and inside. A great find along the Trent and Mersey Canal at Findern.

Two old ladies looking for a cuppa and something nice to avoid going straight home after Church have tried most cafes and tea rooms in the area south of Derby. When we found the Mad Hatter, we knew our prayers had been answered. Cute, cozey tea room with canal-side area that can cope with all but the worst weather. There are even wasp traps so the stingers leave the customers in peace. The menu is adaptable to any diet and the Staff could not be nicer or more helpful. Given that the food is prepared to order and REALLY great, what more can you want? Car parking? Not a problem !

We booked for afternoon tea with my family from New Zealand. I have to admit we where a little late but we where all welcomed like family. There was a fantastic array of sandwiches and cakes that even we could not manage to finish off! We just loved the hole experience.

What a great real British pub. Excellent beer and delicious freshly made sandwiches served by the mist friendly people.

Horrible! The food was bland soggy roast potato’s thin stringy beef, boiled chicken and a burnt Yorkshire pudding all freezing cold. So over priced for what you got it’s better going to a Toby carvery. We waited ages for drinks and our food took an hour to come they also gave us the food for the table next to us before they brought ours out

The Swan is a real gem it’s not a pub that serves pub food it serves food of the highest quality there is nothing on the menu that you wouldn’t want to eat The service is impeccable Olly has created a superb venue in a small village location that would be at home in a city
