Cafe Cru in South Derbyshire

First time ordering from this Cafe as our usual was closed for a hour. Very impressed with the quality and presentation of the meals that we ordered. The milkshakes are to die for! they're thick and so flavoursome - Impressed with everything we received. Prices are brilliant for what you get. Delivery was brill too. P.S I love the little smiley faces that were drawn on our containers, brilliant :) love it. Thank you.

Absolutely fabulous place to visit! Amazing food and the staff are so kind and welcoming and really look after you. Always a pleasure to visit and my little one loves the fuss too. Will definitely be back soon.

Very overpriced for what it is, ordered a panini with bacon and cheese was £6.90 with two bits of bacon in it, wasn’t the best and my panini was heated up in the microwave will not be coming back very disappointing.

Was a bit disapointed to be honest, we went instead of our usual place when we have breakfast out because they do "eggs benedict". We should've have asked for the bacon to be well done that is on us but the hollandaise sauce (which is stated on the menu which is the norm with eggs benedict) was actually mayonaise with possibly a bit of salad cream mixed in or something to try and give it a tang I dont know but it definetly wasn't hollandaise sauce not only was the taste a give away but it was cold, luckily it was served in a small ramekin and not poured (spread more like with that stuff) over our, just cooked bacon decent poached egg and one side toasted bun I know it is difficult to make hollandaise from scratch but you can buy sachets that you just add milk to or even pouches that can just be warmed up. Im sure their other food is fine but I dont recomend having eggs benedict from here.

Delivery driver is always super polite and friendly. Really nice chap. The food is delicious and the drinks (especially the milkshakes) are so, so yummy. Best breakfast in Swad. Definitely recommended! Thank you. :)

Lovely little cafe with delicious coffee. Very pleased to have oat milk available as I can’t have dairy. Not fast food( v busy) but wityh the wait.

Visited for breakfast, after usual eatery closed. Staff friendly and attentive large breakfast was extreamly good and all items freshly cooked. Nice pot of tea with proper milk.

Was staying in a b&b close by but one morning they weren't doing breakfast so we popped in here as we'd spotted it whilst we were on a walk the night before. We both had a full English breakfast, I had a coffee and he had a pot of tea. £20 in total which I find very reasonable. The food was excellent and the staff were very nice and polite. Would definitely visit again if in the area.

Yummy food. Drivers are always friendly. Favourite place to grab lunch from in town.

The cafe supplied a lunch buffet for 130 people last weekend - very helpful, good price and great homemade cakes! I'll definitely use them again. They do a decent bacon sandwich as well.

The kids and I popped in for a Sunday morning treat. The full English was hot, tasty and plenty of it. Two lads enjoyed breakfast sandwiches on soft white bread and the eldest enjoyed a large and tasty looking omelette. It was very relaxing and reasonably priced. Support your local cafe. I highly recommend it.

After trying many local places for food we have not found a place that does better breakfasts than Cafe Cru. We now order a weekly office breakfast which seems to be the highlight of the week. The food is amazing everytime and the service is excellent. The staff are always polite and helpful, I would highly recommend.

Stopped by on my wife's bday for a breakfast. Ordered 2 x breakfasts and 2 x coffees . Coffees were amazing Food was terrible,sausages,bacon and eggs all undercooked and cold (inedible) Waited for other customers to be out of earshot then spoke to the waitress. The waitress agreed and tried to sort the issue out. The waitress then came back to me after speaking to the manager who said there was nothing wrong with the food and her boyfriend would be along shortly to have a word. Eventually after refusing to pay for 2 x inedible breakfasts , the waitress refunded me. The manager came out to authorize this and said nothing to me . Compliments to the waitress she was extremely understanding. However dealt with poorly by management. I have visited here previously and it was good so no idea what has happened. Extremely disappointed is an understatement.

Ok where do I start. I have travelled the world, and I can honestly tell you now, hands down the best Eggs Benedict I have ever had. I asked for super runny yokes and they delivered. Perfect!!!! To the Staff at Cafe Cru, you have me as a Customer forever now. So no take backs! 😊 I feel totally podged but totally worth it!

Really happy that we have a local cafe delivering breakfasts now. Food was top notch and love the options available. Will be coming back for more.

Ordered from here twice now, not disappointed. This time we ordered two Puppacinos for our two dogs, they came in the cutest mini takeout cups and were topped with a little dog treat...seriously they have out some Starbucks! Will definitely use Cafe Cru again.

Brilliant food! Will be ordering again

I visited a Friday lunchtime on a school day. It took me 15 minutes just to get served my drinks which was frustrating considering it wasn’t that busy however I let it slide. But then I ended up waiting a further 30 minutes for my food (total 45 minutes). So I went down to go and check on my order. It seems they were swamped with online orders via Uber eats/just eat and seemed to be prioritising these orders. The staff were friendly and apologetic but I will be unlikely to be coming back anytime soon.

Nice quality breakfast! I thoroughly enjoyed my eggs Benedict and my partner enjoyed his full English breakfast only thing I would say if you don’t like mushrooms maybe request them taken off as we thought we wouldn’t mind picking them out but both our breakfast items came with a lot of mushrooms so we felt we had wasted their product.

Ordered 2 bacon and egg sandwiches and a large luxury hot chocolate at the cost of over £11. Expensive but worth it if it tastes great. Hot chocolate tasted amazing but definitely was not a large size. I asked for crispy bacon and the fat hadn't been cooked through properly and was still clear. I'd advise you to change the ketchup to a better brand as this completely ruined an already bad sandwich. For the price paid I would expect a better standard of food than this. Do not recommend.

Ordered a finger buffet for 35 covers, with a mixture of meat, vegetarian and vegan. They supplied sandwiches, quiche, spring rolls and delicious cupcakes. It was all very tasty, delivered prompltly, well presented and labelled. We were very pleased with quality and quantity of the food. Well done to all the staff at Cafe Cru.

Quite good, very happy with the big breakfast. Would prefer to not have tinned stewed tomatoes (I think that's what they were) so will ask to swap them out next time but good service and coffee!

Food good service very slow & staff unfriendly

Ordered a tuna salad sandwich while having my hair done, the sandwich arrived over and hour and a half later. No prior warning to this. When it arrived - Nothing but tuna in a bun, no butter, no salad in my bap, how disappointing. A little bit of salad on the side a 4 crisps and for over £5. Horrified! I will not be returning again and would not recommend to anyone.

3 of us came here for breakfast and it was excellent, one veggie breakfast and two small breakfast with tea n coffee! Fabulous value for money and a nice clean establishment.

Fantastic Full English breakfast, all freshly cooked, lovely seating area upstairs, clean with polite staff. Save your money on supermarket cafe breakfast or pub breakfast. Cafe Cru is a proper establishment with everything cooked to perfection and piping hot. No skimping with cheap quality or quantity either, we all thoroughly enjoyed our food and beverage and will definitely visit again.

Nice local cafe, good food at a fair price

Took my mum for an afternoon tea at CafeCru…..lovely welcoming staff and beautiful baby girl Ivy Grace. We went upstairs to await the most scrumptious afternoon tea, generously filled tuna sandwiches and cheese and onion on lovely soft bread made immediately before eating, they were arranged with lots of salady bits and delicious home made coleslaw. Then we had a very cheesy scone and a jam and clotted cream scone which we shared so we could taste both then two scummy cakes and a large pot of tea. The cafe was freshly painted and scrupulously clean. Thoroughly recommend it and will go back again

This is a little Gem amazing Coffee delicious Cakes and Fudge....Breakfast is yummy also, well worth a visit .

We visited Cafe Cru as it’s local and we can walk to it and following a bad experience elsewhere wanted to go for a proper breakfast. This place is popular for a very good reason so I would advise booking especially on a Saturday Morning, which we did. Premises is spotless and we felt totally safe in the current situation with Covid. As soon as people left a member of staff wiped down absolutely everything. Big tick for us. Staff - well presented, courteous and pleasant, service was quick too for saying they were pretty busy. Food; we had breakfast, it was fantastic, we could tell they use high quality produce; no burnt bits on the food, mushrooms cooked perfectly and not at all greasy all at a very reasonable price too! In summary; if you want good food, great service in a Clean Covid safe premises this is the place to come. Will we return - try stopping us!

We went to visit Cafe Cru whilst waiting for our car to be MOT'd at a nearby garage. We had a lovely breakfast, which was nicely presented and well cooked. It was very good value for money as the portions were big. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The place was clean and well presented. We'll definitely return and if you are in the area go and have a visit, I'm sure you will enjoy it. Thank you Cafe Cru.
