Cam here with my extended family for a getaway. The caravan I stayed in was clean and presentable or arrival. Just can do with re modernising that’s just personal taste. The bar had incredibly polite young lady with ginger hair.. didn’t get her name. She was absolutely friendly and chatty to the guests and local of course make you feel welcome to get drinks. The downfall was for us we have a 2 year old there was not much a child can do for her age than just a swing. Even for us in some way than just chat like you do in a local pub and have a drink personally. Bad karaoke on Saturday night, no bingo or any some sort of family entertainment. I feel the place was catered for older people than a young family like myself.

Stayed here for a week I went to the cedars bar every evening for a pint the staff was very pleasant and helpful, however when the lady manager came back from her vacation I felt she was not friendly at all, this has made me feel I don’t want to visit her venue again. Very disappointing.!!! The site itself was very clean and tidy but not much to do with young ones.

The site itself is nice, well kept, clean, not full of dog mess, and the onsite pub was pretty good to be fair. We stayed cheap and cheerful, and it showed, we were only there a few days so it didnt really matter as we were hardly there, but if we went again, I would spend a few quid more to upgrade, we had a chalet, not the best if honest, but it was a private let, the owners who live there are in far better condition, but this is only a let, next to nothing in it, TV had a mind of its own and battled with the remote control all the way, living room heater did not work, and had to put your own electric on via a key, never had that before.

We called in for a drink whilst staying on the site. The place is quite dingy with 2 massive tv s on the wall, either side of the bar. Wherever you stand you're in the way of the fooy that was on at the time. Prices are quite high too for a camp bar. The food looked ok , but as we'd already eaten ddidn't try it. Not a place I'd return to. Sorry.

During a family holiday at the chalet park we had a couple of nice meals in Cedars, which for quality, quantity and value were very good. We found all staff in the bar to be extremely pleasant. Regarding the chalet park itself we personally prefer to stay at the Seaholme Road end of Mablethorpe rather than off Quebec Road, however we found all the site staff to be very friendly and there was frequent tidying up, mowing of the grass etc to keep the park maintained.

My parents were staying on this site last october (half term) so we decided to try the onsite pub/resturant. Very friendly staff, arcades for the kids to enjoy and also a small play area for them. We all ate here and the food was great. big portions for small prices. Best thing about our visit was the karaoke at night which was really good fun.

We visited The Cedar Bar and Restaurant on the Chalet Park. We placed an order for food (4 adult meals and 1 child meal) and was told there was a 40 minute wait on food. That was after we tried to order sweet potato fries and they didn’t have any. Food started arriving 1 hour later, the adult meals all came out separately with a 2-5 minute wait between each meal. The child’s meal hadn’t arrived when the last adult meal came out and they said it was forgotten and they are cooking it now - chips and sausage. Our son (5 years old) was very upset that he had been forgotten and when he tried the sausage he said there was crunchy bits in it - we cut them up and it was all grisly. The adult meals were not great and our son didn’t eat his - the food was awful and the Landlady didn’t seem bothered even when we complained how poor the service and food was - not eating there again!

This was after the Tavern on site had denied the man access to their kitchen to prepare his food in the tavern kitchen due to it been against health and hygiene laws. he stupidly then went on to social media to try make himself look like a hero and ended up looking like a very foolish and bitter man. Ive notified the powers that be and hopefully the cafe owner will be brought up to scratch with health and hygiene laws, just like the tavern manager was and he can then concentrate on his own business instead of sticking his nose into a well run one. we are also still waiting for the charity money to be donated to the selected charity after the event held earlier in the season that the cafe owner seems to be holding on to.

Stayed sat-sat this time and it wasn't until Wednesday evening I realised there was a chip shop, cafe, park and launderette (after hand washing my clothes that morning!)Can't comment too much as I didn't use the facilities, the launderette was £4.50 to wash and £2.50 to dry, which was a bit much considering I'd washed most things already. And I did get a bacon sandwich which was nice. Seemed quiet and I really feel they should get reception back up and running or post afew leaflets to advertise the cafe as it didn't seem busy. (Not complaining, just a thought)Will more than likely visit again and will use what's on site more next time.

Went in the tavern for a meal, although the menu was not huge with not much to choose from what we did have was well worth the money and you got a lot of food for the money, my only complaint would be the beer price could be reduce a little to something closer to what you can get a pint for in the town, although the 4 pint pitch is better value than buying 4 separate pints

Where do I start.. The Chalets are old and dated, still stuck in the 70's. Cold and Damp, a lot of condensation. The Chalet had a £1 meter that swallowed the electric. No cooker just a microwave. The tavern bar is like a saloon, when you walk in the music stops and everybody stares. The Cafe owners are friendly enough, but basic bland food. Stained and dirty table cloths that had been on the tables for a few days. Cobwebs and dirty walls. The lady in the shop is lovely, friendly and helpful, unfortunately it's overpriced and under stocked. The few people I did bump into we're friendly enough. The concessions of the Tavern, Shop, Restaurant and Chip Shop are varied and covered by other reviews. Since the change of park ownership and the transition from holiday and holiday owners to holiday/residential (12 months) the dynamic feel of the park has changed. The park no longer offer rental holidays of either chalets or caravans and so the non-owner has to rent from a private owner. This in turn seems to cause a change of attitude with some residents being more defensive of their territory and boundary and with that a more noticeable lack of friendly conduct. One presumes that the accommodation that was rentable is now on offer for sale and with the new terms of lease. It is a pity that this modest park which has stood the test of time for the non-owner holiday maker for so long has effected this change.

We stayed at this chalet park last season late September,we stayed Monday to Friday so missed out on the weekend entertainment. The chalet was spot at £125 for 5 days, straight across from the club, nice friendly people, dog friendly too.The food was a bit 1970's style but where do you get perfect food on holiday.Either cook your own or accept whats for sale. Not too impressed with the Cafe/Chip shop, quite lazy I thought,no urgency for the customer but it was end of season. When you attend a site like this don't raise the bar too high,or go and pay extortionate prices at Haven sites. You still go to the same beach, they still serve frozen food but you pay for the entertainment, swimming pool ,kids club etc etc.It is a step back in time but an enjoyable one, highly recommended.

The Tavern was cold not many in why they have doors open for smokers is a mystery, not much of a menu and drinks are expensive especially kids drinks, everything seemed priced at £5 on menu pizza was £9, called later in week give another try, about 6 in and 4 soon left kitchen had shut at 9.00pm. There is a café on site that does a better menu from breakfast to Sunday dinner, the Sunday dinner was very good and lots of it, deserves a rating of Excellent staff also very good.

New owners so all change, found the Tavern empty, food not as good, had I think it was supposed to be meat and potato it was like mush inside very poor, the fish and chips in Tavern are like ones you buy in local Coop piece of fish and portion of chips poor, People said drinks were dear. The café on site do a good menu and I recommend the Sunday dinner you will not leave hungry the café is not average cannot mark it separately it's excellent. Jim and Claudia are very friendly. My rating apply to them which are ***** for their Cafe

£5 all you can eat (drinks extra). Sausages best part! And the mushrooms weren't the grilled dried type, they were boiled I think, sat Jucily in a Bain Marie pot until required! Get it eaten!Rest of park very pleasant bar slight high price on beer in tavern. Can't comment on price of chalet rental as it was hired for us as a gift, but 4 days well spent!

I've been visiting the chalet park for the last 18 years, prefering to go out of season as it's quieter. We used to rent a chalet from the site but unfortunately that has stopped under the new owners. This year we privately rented a caravan and I wasn't as keen - far to cramped and the beds too small. The site is undergoing alot of work on the chalets and they look much better. The grounds were tidier too. Alot of workmen around but that's understandable. We went along to "The Tavern" on our first night, (under new ownership) only to be met with signs stating that smoking was only allowed in a purpose built shelter - all well and good if you're the type to pop out of the pub for a quick smoke but then we realised that you weren't allowed to smoke at the tables IN THE GARDEN.This was confirmed by a member of staff, who said that "due to arguments", the new owners had decided to stop people smoking, except for in the shelter. We had the one drink and left and didn't return. We usually have some good night, meet new people and have a few drinks, so this spoilt our end of the day routine. Why on earth would they expect people to get up from a table in the garden, in the fresh air, walk around to the side of the pub to a shelter and sit in a there for a smoke. It's petty and I hope they reverse their decision, or I won't be going again.

Had a chalet from a different owner this year. Have to be honest it wasn't up to scratch as the previous 2 we had in the past 2 years but it was tidy. Sofa and chair was old and saggy and had to put duvets under the seats to stop being eaten by the sofa! Had been owned by someone who had smoked and could smell the ciggy smell as it lingered in the wallpapers and furniture and also the hoover!! The site is good and peaceful, the shop people were nice as well. Never used the café this year but did so the last time and it wasn't too bad to be honest qand the fact that they do deliver to your chalet if you don't feel up to going out or cooking. We don't drink so didn't go to the clubhouse but last year my granddaughter and I went over to the amusements and she enjoyed that and the play area. I love this site and hopefully will be returning next year if we can.

this chalet/ caravan site is a nice place to stay especially with small children and the town centre and beach areas are very nice, chalet & cafe staff were nice, although i am disappointed that the site staff did not contact me to see why we left after 1 night instead of staying the 3 nights , also i didnt think much of the chips etc the man in shop was ok and shop could have done with alot more stock, the local people in town were very nice, but as in other reviews i agree that the owner of the tavern ( a hut that sells alcohol) on the chalet site is abrupt and argumentative and has a bullyish manner, instead of coming over quietly and asking us to put our disability assistance dog on the floor ( she is only small and a medical alert dog so sits on my husbands knee) instead the owner shouted past other people sitting at the bar & across the bar to put her on the floor instead of having a quiet word with us at the table, my husband explained that she needed to sit on his knee to alert him of a hypo or other illnesses that my husband has ( heart etc ) as she is a medical alert animal to a number of illnesses and that it had been ok the night before in the tavern and everywhere else so what was different about that night , but the owner said i dont care put her on the floor so my husband said do you know how embarassing that was and the owner said again i did not care so we left and the owner should have stayed in his bar but instead followed us outside arguing and my husband and i were discussing what had just happened and the owner & other members of staff interrupted again so my husband swore at him as the owner was very abrupt and bullyish & even made a threatening stance and my husband said go on then hit me and the owner said **** paraplegic *** & said ill have you thrown off for swearing at me but my husband did not call him personal names like paraplegic ( and yes he is in a wheelchair ) and that we were barred, we wouldnt go back there if they paid us to the tavern and although we still had 2 nights to go we left as we were beyond upset, the rest of the staff are nice and helpful. the owners of the site need to sort his problem out because they are going to loose alot of business through his attitude, he wouldnt last a week running a real pub in a town/city centre, if you go to this site try and walk into the town centre its much more friendlier especially "the book" pub ,

This park when you first arrive has well maintained lawns and is clean. However the Cafe/chip shop lets the site down it is dirty and tired inside the place needs a good clean and decorating. The food is bland and nothing special. The Chalets are comfortable with everything you need. I was bitten badly by bugs which has put me off a bit. Probably stick to Caravans as they seem cleaner.

The chalet park is great for families, however the fish & chips from the site chippy were possibly the worst I have ever eaten in my 43 years on this planet! Soggy yellow batter & sloppy fish inside . Such a shame when being so near to the sea. A real shame & as we fed 5 people at a cost of £20 & all went to bed hungry. Avoid!

We stayed in one of their California Chalets and to be perfectly honest they are extremely basic. The bathroom was unpleasant and unclean and smelt unclean as well. To be perfectly honest it looked's like a throw back from the Hi Di Hi days in the seventies. The Restaurant on the site is also basic of basic, the service is friendly enough, however the food is the same price as every other food facility in the area, however the others were better quality and does not taste like it has just come out of a packet. The Tavern is a basic pub, the staff were pretty friendly over all and the food is ok, the entertainment is average to good. It was a decent place to take the kids as there is a family room where it looks out onto the park as well as being close to the arcade on site.Over all the stay was average as we used it as a base to launch from and explore, however would i not go back next year and to finish, the saying is buy cheap buy twice. Also if you pay cheap you get cheap and you pay for what you get.

I booked a caravan on mcp turned up on Friday just for a long weekend and was disgusted by the caravan. The taps fell apart in my hands. Windows were broken, the seats were being stuck onto the walls with sticky tape. I got bites all over my legs whilst I was in there. The toilet system was all broken and coming apart. I also was not happy about having to pay for the electricity £1 meter!! The fish and chip shop....if you think waiting for 30mins for a couple of fish and chips is acceptable.. They had no idea what they was doing in there at all. I went in again to give them another chance wanting pie and chips and I had to wait for 35mins!! Absolutely ruined my weekend instead of staying for 3 nights that I had paid for we left after 1. Leaving some little boys very upset about their holiday. They should not be allowed to rent out the caravans in this state. Disgusted!!!

Well stocked shop. The cafe we love, delivery service is fantastic, friendly staff and gorgeous food with fair prices, even put kids tv on, you have to try the banana icecream! The beach is a trek over the dunes but clean and quiet. Sand and Land train run to main shops/beach/amusements at small fee or grab a streetkars taxi at £2.50 which when we dont have transport is brill with kids that dont want to walk after a full day playing. Only 1 negative was dog poop that wasnt picked up *sad face* overall good holiday!

We've been to Mablethorpe a few times over the last couple of years. We've stayed at Haven Golden Sands twice and the chalet park once, definitely preferred the chalet park but would be happy to go back to either.Prices are fantastic even in the school hols. Chalets much more spacious than a caravan though basic. I really liked the 50's / 60's retro vibe of the park. The chalets are really nicely laid out, especially the ones to the back of the park which are in squares with open space in the centre, great for the kids to play. A nice quiet and traditional park with basic facilities the only downside is no pool but otherwise fab.Mablethorpe is lovely - small, quaint and traditional and the perfect spot for a short break with young kids. I think older children would be bored. The beaches are fabulous and we have had some amazing weather there. Queens park is great with a fantastic free paddling pool, boating lake, crazy golf, mini train, very cheap café and handy beach parking.Would definitely go back on a short break. I think Mablethorpe is best for short breaks as there's not that much to do for a week but if taking a car there's lots to do in Skegness and surrounding areas to fill out the week.
