Incredibly poor service, seemingly allow people to barge past and be seated before others

The member of staff (tall young man) needs to undertake a course in Customer service and also a course for barista training before he requests payment for inedible and burnt coffees! His manner is abusive and highly disrespectful and he clearly misunderstands what the hospitality industry is all about. Arguing back and not listening will never help to build a successful business. Learn your craft then you can command respect! Needless to say I won’t be going back……

I had an unplanned but excellent breakfast with some friends last Saturday. Superb coffee and a Croque Madame. All good.

The most unpleasant behaviour from staff in response to a simple question. It came from a young man and an older lady (I’m specifying as a younger women who seated us was perfectly polite). I honestly don’t think I have ever been treated so dismissively and then rudely in a restaurant. Basic manners and customer service totally absent. Interesting to see a similar review from a week ago.

There is a very good reason why Ma Cuisine has such a great reputation- the food is SO yum! I get my work lunches from here every day and they put the competitors to shame because all you taste is quality. And the wide range of food is awesome! I love how many types of risottos they have. Every dish reminds me of my mother's cooking, which is really comforting. And the price is fair when, again, you are eating quality. My only thing would be to have your lobster and crab risotto in a version without chilli

My fave place for a morning hot chocolate and pastry. The food here is always outstanding. Their ham and cheese croissant is incredible. Had steak and frites a while back and still thinking about it! Highly recommend!

Just had a cappuccino. Friendly. Service can sometimes be a little slow and hesitant, but always good in the end. Christoph, the owner is always positive, energetic and engaging

We were visiting the area and had the cafe highly recommended so were very much looking forward to the coffee etc. We sat down at a pair of free tables while my sister ordered for us. After about 15 minutes we were very rudely told one of the tables was reserved (nothing to suggest it was) and it was promptly "shoved" to the side of us. We were made to feel so unwelcome here and will never try it again.

I bought two Paris Brest and two raspberry tarts. I’ve just eaten the Paris Brest snd they are stupendously delicious. Thank you

Been wanting to have a sit down meal in her for a long time and it was well worth the wait. Veggie croque Monsieur was wonderful!

A great place to meet up, with a distinct French atmosphere. Busy, so don't be in a hurry.

We used to come here years ago and it still is a complete delight. The croque monsieur is the absolute best, and the cheesecake was divine. The ready meals are out of this world and all home cooked.

Says it closes at 5 but don't seem to like it if you go in after 4.30. coffee wasn't very hot and a bit pricey for cake

Outstanding. We have just had, the BEST steak and frites, with the most humble and accommodating chef and front of house. After running around the area desperate for a lovely meal and everywhere being closed, the chef came out to approach us and said we can take a seat and he would take care of us, even though they were closed for a private event. He gave us an intimate, private table just outside the garden, and we were given beautiful red wine and seriously, the most divine steak, cooked to perfection. We will absolutely be back and recommend this restaurant to the highest degree. To the dedicated chef and welcoming front of house, we thank you. ♥️

Best steak I've had in my life, they were shut for a private event but still made us a little private table and we had the best meal in years. Cannot recommend this place enough, and to the staff thank you for saving our night!

As soon as we walked inside a blond older woman that worked there eye scanned my girlfriend and I, scowled then walked away with a disgusted face. We were presentable and friendly. Staff didn’t even greet us. After four days crossing England we never had this experience with staff or even residents once elsewhere.

Coffee is served scalding got, so that milk and beans are burnt and bitter. Undrinkable. Staff could do with some barista training. Delicious cakes however

A very French experience. Warm Goats Cheese Salad for me and Steak Frites for my goddaughter but the most French item was the bread. French bread in the UK is very much British ‘French Bread’ but the bread here is perfect parisien pain artisanal. A taste and texture I haven’t enjoyed since I moved from Paris over 10 years ago.

Very disappointed they don’t cater for vegans or people who can’t eat dairy. Swap the vegetarian option for vegan, it’s so easy!!

Excellent salmon en croute and a sympathetic understanding of my wife's attachment to her wine glass.

We ordered two lattes, one with oat milk for my wife and the other with regular milk for me. The waitress served them the wrong way. The result was, on the one hand, me frustrated with the most expensive tasteless latte I ever had, and my wife spending the rest of the day in the loo.

The best coffee in Bath so lucky to have this cute little French cafe on my doorstep! The food is also amazing especially the steak.

Small but cute and great atmosphere. We visited on Friday night en route to The Rondu. All four of us had the beef Wellington from the specials and it was superb.

We had a lovely meal here recently. Chef's seafood special menu. Several courses and they were all, without exception, excellent. Service was friendly and efficient. Thoroughly recommended.

Booked this ‘compact’ restaurant for a meal before watching a show at the Rondo Theatre opposite. Arrived slightly early but were welcomed and we sat in he outside patio which was very nice (the inside room is VERY small. Had Camembert starter which was delicious with honey and the bread was lovely and fresh. I followed up with the fish and chips which was a large and delicious piece of cod loin. My wife had the chicken supreme which was served with garlic mash which was very strong. A lovely venue, which We would fully recommend. Service was good and the servers were witty and attentive. Well worth a visit.

Probably your best option for proper lunch on the east side of the town. Never fails me. Their take away menu also delicious.

Hidden gem, pure quality . Outstanding food.

I almost didn't go to Ma Cuisine after reading the review of 3rd July, but I'm pleased I did. We had a lovely table in the covered outside area. The whole restaurant was buzzing and the staff was friendly and attentive despite the place being busy. There isn't a massive range on the menu, but there was more than enough choice for our party and all was delicious.

Christophe and Brigitte are the most hard working people in the game and it pays off! Amazing stuff

Not a good start. We emailed twice and telephoned once over 2 days without a reply. But eventually we got a reply and made a lunchtime booking. Arrived amid chaos, we’re shown to a scruffy little dining room with 4 small cramped tables. The table itself was ‘sticky’ and certainly not clean. Were given a very restricted lunchtime menu that contained 4 main choices, nothing French. Waiter apologised and said they were short staffed in the kitchen. As a customer that’s really not my problem. At that point we decided the whole place was somewhere we’d rather rather not be. Absolute disaster. But ‘strangely’ the 9 reviews were all good. Moved on to Corkage in Chapel Row and had a superb French lunch and service in a lovely clean environment with an excellent choice of wines. Absolutely no comparison.

Some “vegetarian” options are NOT vegetarian. Called up to explain but got no apology, just a “I’ll let the right person know”!! NB- the tomato and bean cassoulet is made with duck fat yet appears on their website under the vegetarian filter. Other than that, enjoyable ready meals.

A hidden gem of a restaurant which will not disappoint, with an intimate and authentically French atmosphere, you are instantly transported to a village restaurant in France, Six of us had a five course fruit de mer set menu which was truly magnificent, my wife you is not a massive fan, absolutely loved every course, the Crab Tart was particularly delicious, the staff were helpful & friendly and as enthusiastic as Jean Christophe the enigmatic head Chef, what a fantastic evening, thankyou, we will all be back

I dropped into Ma Cusine to have a pre theatre dinner. My friend pre booked a couple of days before and I was really looking forward to a quick bite & glass of wine before the theatre. We all ordered steak frites medium rare, all meals arrived promptly well presented and cooked to perfection - as I would expect but so many places can't even get these simple things correct. The whole table throughly enjoyed the food and all said we must return for one of the venues special gourmet nights and spend the evening there. Great little restaurant, fantastic food lovely atmosphere and very friendly staff. Highly recommended and very much looking forward to returning.

We were staying in the area and were too exhausted to go further than a short walk from the area. All the restaurants and delicatessens were closed. Then we saw that, although this place was dark, it had an Open sign on the door and there was a lady under a small light at the back. She saw us, came and opened the door, and said that she was just closing but could do us something to take away. Yes, please! So we got quiches (cheese and fish) and salad (chicken and mango) and raspberry tarts to eat in our room. All DELICIOUS!!!! And priced very modestly. Far from being put out that we had delayed her, this lady was very friendly, relaxed, and sympathetic. What was looking like a very bleak evening turned into a happy one.

Ma cousine demonstrates french cousin at its absolute best. Top quality ingredients perfectly cooked, and served with aplomb. An real treat. A thoroughly enjoyable experience all round to put a smile on your face. We will definitely be back

My wife and I went here for her birthday and were frankly blown away. We had three courses, all of which were delightful but it was the local Larkhall Butchers rump steak with peppercorn sauce that took the top spot. It was the best steak I’ve had. Hands down. We will be back again and again. Thank you very much to the chef and the lovely waitress who made my wife’s birthday dinner one to remember. If you’re in Bath be sure to visit, you won’t regret it!

Amazing food that simply makes you happy, good wine and atentive service in a cozy space. My mushroom soup was de-li-cious and my partner's burguer was THE BEST we tasted in a very long time. Can't wait to go back!

Top notch produce cooked really well; what a treat to have in Larkhall. Have eaten lunch and dinner here before and definitely will again. The meat especially is absolutely spot on.

Had another great meal and this time the French Fish and Chips. Lovely piece of fish with a really light batter, peas and chips. Excellent service and a lovely bistro atmosphere.

Amazing array of deliciously delightful dishes from the takeaway selections, from starters to dessert. Brilliant all round. If you get a chance to eat there, it's seriously worth it!!😋😋😋😋😋( 5 YUM rating)

We have had meals from Ma Cuisine several times during lockdown, but the Valentine Special meal we had today was absolutely delicious.Too full to eat the Tarte Tartin, so have that treat still to come. Many thanks to you all. Xxx

I purchased a few meals to stick in the freezer. Beouf Bourgonine, cauliflower cheese, soup and the calves liver. The food is delicious. Portions are big. Great value for money!

Just had their Friday fish and chips.... What can I say? Utterly delicious! The fish was fab, the batter light and crispy and the chips superb. Utterly scrum

Jesus Christ, this is a good place. Ordered frozen soups for delivery - easily the best soup I have ever had. Much nicer than the 'fresh' soups in supermarkets. A little pricey but worth the price.

Had another takeaway meal this evening and as per our others it was superb! We had Chicken Kiev which came with fries and a great salad with coleslaw. The chicken was perfectly cooked, super tender and completely delicious. Portion was size was extremely generous. We finished off with Tarte au Citron with a mini meringue on top. Wonderful meal. Merci beaucoup! Xx

French. Solid tea/coffee n cake. Erm, haven't tried the food-food, but I bet it's nice. It's up there on 'WLTM' (meal). And service was ace. Real friendly and attentive.

Excellent food but expensive for the locale

I love this place so much! Whether you want a beautifully cooked, real home-cooked high quality ready meal, or a coffee and a delicious cake, or a quiche and some amazing salad, this place has it all. Every single thing is absolutely delicious and all prepared on site from scratch, just like proper home-cooked food of the highest quality. The spinach, chicken and mango salad is incredible, but everything here hits the spot. It's also open Thursday-Saturday evenings for dinner and supper clubs - amazing place!

Service in the bistro is slow and a little unorganised.

Went for dinner with the family last week and it was incredible, truly a hidden gem with heaps of character. Well worth a visit!

Great take out food and nice local cafe

I went for my first meal at Ma Cuisine with my partner after hearing so much about the restaurant. And its safe to say that I had the most soul fulfilling meal of my life! With the both of us being avid cheese enthusiasts we went on the fondue night which was absolutely gorgeous, the staff were warm and welcoming and had a lovely chat to us about cheese and our mutual love for it. I would 100% recommend Ma Cuisine for its food, value for money, service and atmosphere, we will be returning very soon!

Food and service was very nice, but we were a little perturbed by the fact that there was a tray of uncovered desserts sitting out on the draining board beside the sink where customers wash their hands after using the facilities... Not ideal!

Actual genuine French food! A must-eat.

Restaurant-quality meals cooked on site and then frozen so that they can be finished off in the oven or microwave at home. There is also a small deli serving lunchtime treats, cakes, drinks, freshly prepared soup, etc. We have bought quite a range of their offerings and really enjoyed all of them. The prices are also very reasonable for the quality of food that's on offer.

They do online frozen food deliveries......... I have just enjoyed their Guinea Fowl Breast, it was beautiful .
