It was a delightful experience from start to finish. 2 of us turned up half an hour early with luggage and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. Everybody appeared to enjoy their food; I certainly did. I had crab & avocado 'tian', which was new to me and very tasty, followed by fillet of sea bass with smoked aubergine, quite superb. I finished off with raspberry & pistachio coupe which was a refreshing end to a wonderful meal.

What you would expect from The Ivy, good food beautifully presented & attentively served. They didn't disappoint & I was fascinated to see a member of staff being taught the art of making a drink! Had a pleasant lunch at the ivy, with very tasty food. The atmosphere was enjoyable and comfortable. Only reason it is not 5 star is because we were kept waiting at the door for at least 5 minutes as no one was at the host stand and our waitress was very attentive but was a bit unsure of the menu.

The food was delicious. Service team seemed out of sorts. Hostess asked if we wanted water, I said "sparkling with lemon please", she confirmed. Received still water, with no lemon, and never the sparkling. After the delicious dinner, Shepherds Pie and Sea Bass with smoked aubergine, we ordered a dessert and pot of coffee. We received the dessert fairly quickly. The coffee was never received, in fact, we ate our delicious desserts while watching the entire staff of the restaurant pass by the coffee ready at the bar, including the manager. We asked one of them for our bill, he said give him 2 minutes, ran around discombobulated trying to figure out, with the rest of the team, how to create more space for new tables. 5 minutes later, the table next to us received their bill, and we sat, still looking at the coffee at the bar, dessert already half way digested, when finally the server acknowledged the coffee sitting at the bar, grabbed the tray and turned toward us. I gestured that I was no longer interested. She seems a bit upset but confused and asked if that coffee had been sitting there for a while, to which we replied "Yes". Neither her or the the manager apologized for the mishap but it was removed from the bill. The manager WAS quick, however, to take payment...

Still chose to pay service charge because I understand the place was busy and each person on the floor has multiple jobs/ people to attend to. Drink- DIVINE! Wild Mojito, but far too much ice that it watered down so quickly, I was actually saddened by this because it really was nice. Would I recommend it? Yes, however, not for dinner as lights get deemed around the 5 o'clock hour.

They were accommodating of my gluten intolerance and explained which dishes had no gluten ingredients and any which were fried in a gluten fryer so they were clued up on what was suitable and what wasn’t. They recommended drinks based on our preferences. The staff were very attentive and also very sweet with our baby who thankfully slept for most of our lunch! We had also thought it may be a bit quiet and dull on a weekday lunchtime but there were lots of tables in which meant there was a good atmosphere.

When we asked for the bill they then offered more tea and water but it was too late. The sandwiches were lovely, the cakes weren’t the best. Wouldn’t say it was worth the price tag.

A friend described The Ivy to me as “posh Bill’s” and I think that’s very accurate based on my experience. The staff were nice and friendly, although we weren’t made aware of what they didn’t have supply of initially, which meant there was a fair bit of back and forth after first ordering, so a side was kindly comped (after the waiter returned for third time). I had come for the ribeye, but they were out, so opted for the sirloin and my wife had the fillet. Fillet was cooked perfectly but my thinner sirloin was well done rather than medium rare (harder to get right than a thicker fillet/ribeye), but by that point we’d had enough to and from with the young waiter (who was excellent & professional and apologetic) that I didn’t want to put him through going back to the kitchen (again!) and just wanted to eat! Chips/fries aren’t included with the steaks, and at £30-£38 for a steak, asking for £6-£7 for a small punnet of chips is, in my opinion, on the cheeky side of things. We went for the truffle & Parmesan fries which A) didn’t have much of truffle flavour and B) just had a sprinkling of Parmesan on top (it should to be tossed in a bowl if you ask me) All in all I didn’t feel we got great value from a £110 steak dinner for two (I’d suggest steak experts Hudson’s any day of the week), but would come again to try one of the many other styles of cuisine (Bill’s style). If Google allowed it this would be a 3.5 ⭐️. I’ll come back again later in the year and update based on next experience.

Afternoon Tea is INCREDIBLY poor value! Upon entry imagine my dismay to find a table of scruffy fellows opposite, who looked like they'd just come from the gym, in hoodies no less! I understood there was a dress code here? Felt very OTT in my shoes and shirt, shouldn't have bothered! We waited a while before being asked what we wanted to drink, perhaps the champaign that comes with set menu? Girl was new though and very nice. The food presents well but was phenomenally underwhelming; the dry egg fingers were grim, only ate as I was starving. Tasteless egg on dry bread, who thought this was a good idea? The other rolls tasted like from Waitrose, nice but hardly worth £90 for two people! The creme brulee was cold and average. Weird choice to have a cup cake with heavy frosting, I'd expect to pay £3 for this in a bakery, really not fine dining experience. The scones were average, nothing compared to local tea shop, super stingy on the jam, one measly spoon for two people! Didn't even taste great quality jam. The other puddings were very sweet and forgettable. Tea came after the food which was clearly odd and was two teabags!! in a pot for two, so was piss weak! Unbelievable not to have loose leaf for this price and then cheap out on the bags! The champaign wasn't great nor were the cocktails we had after, tries to be clever but fails. Amazingly poor value, be warned!

Sunday afternoon tea for two. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and we were warmly welcomed. Our waiter took our order but then disappeared - he seemed to have gone off shift, but didn't tell us or the other staff. Our food arrived, but then we waited for ages for our tea (drink). Had to ask for it after about 20mins but the other waiters seemed to be irritated that we were asking them! Then had to chase for butter 3 times and it was very difficult to get anyone's attention for anything - even when trying to get the bill. Service was charged at 12.5% without an option not to pay it. It was very quiet - no excuse for poor service. It's a shame - I went about 2 years prior and it was great - I won't go again. I also miss the leaf tea with proper strainers - this time it was teabags.

This is my second visit to an Ivy (the first was in Chichester) and I had the same experience. The food came before the drinks, the toast with the breakfast was cold, the service was terrible. The waitress never checked in with us and I also thought she was quite rude/blunt. Take into account this was a Monday morning and it wasn’t busy in the slightest. Unfortunately the prices do not reflect the service you receive at these restaurants. I gave them the benefit of the doubt the first time but now I’ve been to another one in a different city and it’s exactly the same problems. I will not be spending anymore money at an Ivy. The service was really excellent and the waiter we had was very patient with us considering we brought our infant child with us, so from a family friendly point of view we couldn't fault it. The food was okay. We had a few starters which were all pretty good but the surprising favourite was the Zucchini Fritti. We ordered steaks for main, one Sirloin (Mid Rare) and one Rib Eye (Rare) which were both cooked incorrectly. The Sirloin was well-done, no pink inside at all. The Rib Eye was rare on one end and pretty much blue on the other. The sides (Thick Cut Chips, Garden Peas and Carrot and Swede Mash) were good. Pudding was good if a little rich. We both ordered the chocolate bombe, which we both liked but found a little overly sweet. It is very nice inside and the staff are very friendly. The seating is comfortable and the overall atmosphere is pretty relaxed. However, if i hadn't have been given a gift card for this place i wouldn't spend the money to come back. The whole 3 courses came to nearly £180, which is pretty pricey considering the quality we got.

We’ve been to the Ivy in Bath twice and, although it was fine, for this price point there are SOOO many better places in Bath. During both visits the restaurant appears to have been over booked. During our first visit (dinner) we were moved from our table to the bar immediately after our desert and our unfinished win bottle ended up being lost. During our second visit (breakfast with visiting family) the squeezed 5 of sun into a too small booth and we could hardly breath. Both times were pre booked. I visited with friends on 16th Feb, food was lovely, but the bill was wrong, I have now phoned twice to get it rectified , the first time I was told they were sending a message to get a refund, the 2nd time I repeated the problem and was put on hold for over 10 minutes so hung up!

As I’ve written before, I’ve long held the view that the posher the location, the worse the breakfast. It’s a complex dilemma: do you opt for somewhere warm and welcoming, where the service is lovely but there’s a real risk of unnecessary garnish on your fried eggs? Or do you brave a hard plastic seat next to a man muttering to himself while devouring the fry-up of your dreams? Well, today we went posh. The Ivy in Bath is a feast for the eyes—genuinely one of the most beautiful dining rooms in the city. And after a night on the tiles, it’s exactly what you want: a warm welcome, a comfortable seat, and a hot coffee placed in front of you before you’ve even remembered how you got home. The service is impeccable, the food arrives swiftly, and yes, there’s something green and decorative perched on my eggs—but you know what? I don’t mind. Because a Sunday morning at The Ivy is exactly what Sunday mornings should be.

It’s ok - but a chain now with a cookie cutter approach which devalues the experience in my opinion..like a posh McDonalds

A delicious meal in a gorgeous restaurant. Only disappointing thing for us was we went for an advertised jazz and dinner evening and our table was booked for 9pm, just as the jazz trio were packing up. No indication that this was when the music would finish.

Great service and food, they do 2 and 3 course special offers at lunch, well worth the money.

I went to the Ivy whilst on my stay in Bath. I went for brunch with my mum for her 60th birthday. Having not booked a table, we were still allocated a lovely seating area and was greeted by the lovely Romina who was absolutely outstanding. Romina made our dining experience extra special and couldn't cater to us more. She told us about the sites we should visit and even took the time to direct us to these wonderful places. Having told her it was my mum's birthday she even arranged for a dessert with a candle for my mum. Such a thoughtful touch and it made my mums day. The food was outstanding and we will definitely be returning on our next visit to Bath. Thank you to all the staff who work exceptionally hard in making sure you have the most wonderful experience 🥰

Visited on a Sunday night, was fairly busy considering how quiet the city was in general. Food was really good and brought out relatively quickly. Staff were attentive and helpful, but not overbearing. Value of the winter 3 course menu was great. All in all - strongly recommend.

cote is always reliable but on this visit, to celebrate having paintings hung in the Victoria Gallery, Bath, it was excellent. I had Bacon salads starter, and Steak frites. My partner had the Fish pie, ending the meal with coffees. But, it wasn’t just 5he very well cooked and presented food that was the star, but the lovely waitress. Attentive, thoughtful, not intrusive, sociable, made the visit extra pleasant.

I had an exceptional experience during my visit today. The service provided was remarkable, the staff greeted us with warm smiles and consistently demonstrated kindness and excellence throughout our meal. The food was not only delicious but also offered a unique selection that stood out. The atmosphere of the establishment was inviting, contributing to an overall enjoyable experience. Additionally, the restrooms were impeccably clean and maintained to a high standard. The timing of the meal service was also impressive, with drinks, starters, and the main course arriving promptly. Khinga who looked after us was exceptional.Thank you.

We booked breakfast for 4 people and were squeezed on a small table despite most of the restaurant being empty. The decor is gorgeous so you feel like it's luxurious. Unfortunately being squeezed on a table with plates that were more bowl like made eating difficult made it feel far from luxury. The food was fine, but nothing special. The toast we ordered never arrived and we had to take it off the bill. The black coffee is really unpleasant. The Ivy doesn't deliver any more and that will be our last visit. We'll stick to local independents.

Plenty of competition for brunch in Bath but this was a great experience. Brunch at 9.30. Restaurant was very quiet. Food was delicious: smashed avo and grilled toms on toast with lots seeds and herbs; and the birchermuesli was delicious not too sweet. Excellent coffee, second cup free. Service by our Italian waiter (sorry I didn’t ask your name) was delightful and efficient. Cheaper than our hotel breakfast too!! Great job.

I was very lucky to stumble across this lil gem in the very heart of Bath. Super atmospheric and the choice of wine by glass is excellent! And thanks to lovely Anetta I ordered a baked camembert with honey and boy that was a perfect dish for a cold rainy lunch! Will be back and definitely recommend

Good food, extensive reasonably priced winelist, great sommelier. Hence the need to book! Do go!
