A great dinner in good company. The young waitress was very efficient and friendly. The food was delicious - especially the duck salad to start. The tiramisu was a bit too big after the other good meals.

Love salted sourdough but the eggs and avocado was below standard of The Ivy, the avocado was very brown and I hat that they serve this on a cheap muffin. I would rather have a choice of breads or homemade ones. After all, prices are not cheap. However atmos and staff are lovely and the decor I can stare at for ages it's so interesting.

We visited for lunch one weekday afternoon with the platinum Amex £100 offer. The food was delicious, the service was EXCELLENT and there was a good atmosphere. They were accommodating of my gluten intolerance and explained which dishes had no gluten ingredients and any which were fried in a gluten fryer so they were clued up on what was suitable and what wasn’t. They recommended drinks based on our preferences. The staff were very attentive and also very sweet with our baby who thankfully slept for most of our lunch! We had also thought it may be a bit quiet and dull on a weekday lunchtime but there were lots of tables in which meant there was a good atmosphere.

My Mum and I visited The Ivy in Bath for Saturday brunch. The setting is lovely as well as the food, but more importantly, the service was flawless. We were looked after by the italian manager with the floral tie. He was very helpful when we had queries regarding allergies (Peanut) and he even gave us recommendations what to go for. He was attentive throughout our meal, took notice of everything before we even had the chance to ask (extra drinks, sauces, etc). It was a lovely experience and we will definitely be back!

The chairs are just for show. Literally. Lovely outdoor seating at The Ivy Bath… except you’re not allowed to sit there. Apparently, the chairs are decorative. Like a museum exhibit you can’t touch. We’ve sipped drinks there before, but now it’s “not permitted.” Is this a restaurant or a furniture showroom?

Went for an afternoon tea with a friend, service was very lack lustre - we weren’t given simple things such as a teaspoon? We weren’t offered any refills on our drinks etc. Heard other customers talked through their afternoon tea (what it included etc) and they were also told they can have more jam / cream and so on which we were not told. When we asked for the bill they then offered more tea and water but it was too late. The sandwiches were lovely, the cakes weren’t the best. Wouldn’t say it was worth the price tag.

Came to celebrate Mother’s Day with my parents at the Ivy and it was an absolute delight. The reception seated us swiftly despite a rather spontaneous last-minute booking and service from there until the end of the night was excellent. The staff were extremely attentive and friendly and helped make the night extra special. As for the food… it was marvellous! Highly recommend both the Korean Chicken and Soy Cod. Excellent flavours and cooked to perfection. Plus the creme brûlée is another excellent classic to try! Overall, lovely experience, would 100% dine again! Looking forward to it already.

My wife and i absolutely love The Ivy. It is the restaurant we always choose for special occasions. The staff are continually impressive and display fantastic customer service. Our food was exceptional. My wife had the scallops and I had the cheese soufflé for our starters. For our mains my wife had the blackened cod and I had the vegan burger. All four dishes were perfectly cooked, looked and smelt great and tasted lovely. I also really like the interior decor.

A friend described The Ivy to me as “posh Bill’s” and I think that’s very accurate based on my experience. The staff were nice and friendly, although we weren’t made aware of what they didn’t have supply of initially, which meant there was a fair bit of back and forth after first ordering, so a side was kindly comped (after the waiter returned for third time). I had come for the ribeye, but they were out, so opted for the sirloin and my wife had the fillet. Fillet was cooked perfectly but my thinner sirloin was well done rather than medium rare (harder to get right than a thicker fillet/ribeye), but by that point we’d had enough to and from with the young waiter (who was excellent & professional and apologetic) that I didn’t want to put him through going back to the kitchen (again!) and just wanted to eat! Chips/fries aren’t included with the steaks, and at £30-£38 for a steak, asking for £6-£7 for a small punnet of chips is, in my opinion, on the cheeky side of things. We went for the truffle & Parmesan fries which A) didn’t have much of truffle flavour and B) just had a sprinkling of Parmesan on top (it should to be tossed in a bowl if you ask me) All in all I didn’t feel we got great value from a £110 steak dinner for two (I’d suggest steak experts Hudson’s any day of the week), but would come again to try one of the many other styles of cuisine (Bill’s style). If Google allowed it this would be a 3.5 ⭐️. I’ll come back again later in the year and update based on next experience.

Afternoon Tea is INCREDIBLY poor value! Upon entry imagine my dismay to find a table of scruffy fellows opposite, who looked like they'd just come from the gym, in hoodies no less! I understood there was a dress code here? Felt very OTT in my shoes and shirt, shouldn't have bothered! We waited a while before being asked what we wanted to drink, perhaps the champaign that comes with set menu? Girl was new though and very nice. The food presents well but was phenomenally underwhelming; the dry egg fingers were grim, only ate as I was starving. Tasteless egg on dry bread, who thought this was a good idea? The other rolls tasted like from Waitrose, nice but hardly worth £90 for two people! The creme brulee was cold and average. Weird choice to have a cup cake with heavy frosting, I'd expect to pay £3 for this in a bakery, really not fine dining experience. The scones were average, nothing compared to local tea shop, super stingy on the jam, one measly spoon for two people! Didn't even taste great quality jam. The other puddings were very sweet and forgettable. Tea came after the food which was clearly odd and was two teabags!! in a pot for two, so was piss weak! Unbelievable not to have loose leaf for this price and then cheap out on the bags! The champaign wasn't great nor were the cocktails we had after, tries to be clever but fails. Amazingly poor value, be warned!

Sunday afternoon tea for two. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and we were warmly welcomed. Our waiter took our order but then disappeared - he seemed to have gone off shift, but didn't tell us or the other staff. Our food arrived, but then we waited for ages for our tea (drink). Had to ask for it after about 20mins but the other waiters seemed to be irritated that we were asking them! Then had to chase for butter 3 times and it was very difficult to get anyone's attention for anything - even when trying to get the bill. Service was charged at 12.5% without an option not to pay it. It was very quiet - no excuse for poor service. It's a shame - I went about 2 years prior and it was great - I won't go again. I also miss the leaf tea with proper strainers - this time it was teabags.

This is my second visit to an Ivy (the first was in Chichester) and I had the same experience. The food came before the drinks, the toast with the breakfast was cold, the service was terrible. The waitress never checked in with us and I also thought she was quite rude/blunt. Take into account this was a Monday morning and it wasn’t busy in the slightest. Unfortunately the prices do not reflect the service you receive at these restaurants. I gave them the benefit of the doubt the first time but now I’ve been to another one in a different city and it’s exactly the same problems. I will not be spending anymore money at an Ivy. It’s a shame because the food is nice but for some reason their staff do not reflect the image they are going for. Disappointing to say the least.

The service was really excellent and the waiter we had was very patient with us considering we brought our infant child with us, so from a family friendly point of view we couldn't fault it. The food was okay. We had a few starters which were all pretty good but the surprising favourite was the Zucchini Fritti. We ordered steaks for main, one Sirloin (Mid Rare) and one Rib Eye (Rare) which were both cooked incorrectly. The Sirloin was well-done, no pink inside at all. The Rib Eye was rare on one end and pretty much blue on the other. The sides (Thick Cut Chips, Garden Peas and Carrot and Swede Mash) were good. Pudding was good if a little rich. We both ordered the chocolate bombe, which we both liked but found a little overly sweet. It is very nice inside and the staff are very friendly. The seating is comfortable and the overall atmosphere is pretty relaxed. However, if i hadn't have been given a gift card for this place i wouldn't spend the money to come back. The whole 3 courses came to nearly £180, which is pretty pricey considering the quality we got.

We’ve been to the Ivy in Bath twice and, although it was fine, for this price point there are SOOO many better places in Bath. During both visits the restaurant appears to have been over booked. During our first visit (dinner) we were moved from our table to the bar immediately after our desert and our unfinished win bottle ended up being lost. During our second visit (breakfast with visiting family) the squeezed 5 of sun into a too small booth and we could hardly breath. Both times were pre booked. As I’ve written before, I’ve long held the view that the posher the location, the worse the breakfast. It’s a complex dilemma: do you opt for somewhere warm and welcoming, where the service is lovely but there’s a real risk of unnecessary garnish on your fried eggs? Or do you brave a hard plastic seat next to a man muttering to himself while devouring the fry-up of your dreams? Well, today we went posh. The Ivy in Bath is a feast for the eyes—genuinely one of the most beautiful dining rooms in the city. And after a night on the tiles, it’s exactly what you want: a warm welcome, a comfortable seat, and a hot coffee placed in front of you before you’ve even remembered how you got home. The service is impeccable, the food arrives swiftly, and yes, there’s something green and decorative perched on my eggs—but you know what? I don’t mind. Because a Sunday morning at The Ivy is exactly what Sunday mornings should be.

I was disappointed with my recent experience at The Ivy on New Year’s Eve. I had high expectations for the evening, but unfortunately, it did not meet the standard I associate with your establishment. First, I paid £85 per person, this is not what i expected as the menu was advertised online at £75 per person, including a free glass of champagne on arrival. Not only was the pricing inconsistent, but we also did not receive the promised champagne. Additionally, the service was below par. We waited over 30 minutes to receive our cocktails after our dinner. To make matters worse, our creamed spinach was brought out 10 minutes after the main course and was unappetizing—watery and lacking flavour. At no point did the staff check in with us to ask if our food was satisfactory. I understand that New Year’s Eve can be a busy evening, but the issues we encountered were frustrating and detracted from what should have been a memorable celebration.

When we arrived, we had been squashed on to a tiny table around a pillar, although there were larger empty unreserved tables near the windows. We moved ourselves to one of these. My friend and I each ordered a green side salad with our main course. When the salads arrived, we discovered that they had no vinaigrette or dressing, and complained. They were eventually replaced. I got the distinct feeling that there was no overall senior eye keeping a sharp eye on the detail. The atmosphere at lunch was convivial, the food OK and the wine better than expected, but the table fiasco and salad irritations detracted from what should have been a jolly New Year experience.

Mediocre. I was expecting more because everyone seemed impressed when I mentioned I was dining at the Ivy

Epic breakfast experience, especially if you have plenty of time - just weirdly difficult to get the bill - recommend making a move to the exit to jog the team ;)

Went for the expensive 'festive menu.' There was nothing festive about it. Myself and my partner are away for Christmas so wanted a special Christmas night of our own. Small portions of some boil in a bag Turkey, which was definitely made in a factory and just heated up in the kitchen. No welcome drink on arrival included, just extra expensive Christmas cocktail we could buy if we wanted, no crackers on the table, because they had run out. (No one told us, we asked. They didn't apologies. Could have gone to get some from the supermarket, but no. Still charged for them though as part of the 'festive menu.' No Christmas music, no decorations. Staff were miserable. Such disappointment. They don't respect their customers.

We ordered afternoon tea. The tea was fine, the food looked good, but the cakes tasted a little dry, and the scones were not the best. The sandwiches were good! So I'd give it a 3 there. Unfortunately this restaurant gives an automatic service charge, based on a percentage. This is a horrendous business practice, basically trying to leech money from customers. If it wasn't optional, I'd give this a 1 star, but since I can have it removed, and I did, it's a 2 star.

Went in last night,at 1030 after a concert in the Abbey, for a mulled wine (we had one last year). They don’t do it anymore! Staff grumpy and atmosphere bad.

Had a cream tea at The Ivy at lunchtime today. A bit random timewise but we had a voucher that had to be used ASAP and we're in Bath so thought we'd use it. Location is great and the service was exceptional!!! Our cream tea was absolutely lovely and not outrageously expensive if we had to pay. Having a sneaky glance at lunchtime offerings on tables around they too looked scrummy! Atmosphere was pleasant as was the interior of the restaurant. All in all thanks to all at The Ivy, Bath. I'm sure we'll be back again.

Ate here last week as a party of 6. Ordered the Xmas menu at £50 per two courses or £55 for 3 courses. The starter was fine as was the actual main part of the main course. However, the other elements that accompanied the main were very much below par. The truffle gravy was literally stone cold for all parties and the veg was luke warm and not well cooked (mushy sprouts - eeugh). Upon advising the staff of this the truffle gravy was taken away and returned but was still not hot. The third time they managed to bring it back hot but this took over 20 minutes so was really too late. The veg was also replaced but the sprouts were again overcooked. The bill was reduced by around £25 for all of the above. Given the cost of dining at the Ivy, the least one could expect is decent quality instead of which we were served the standard of food you would expect from a not particularly good local pub. In contrast, I attended a different Xmas meal at Cote Brasserie earlier in the week for over 30 people. The food was spot on despite the much larger numbers and was significantly better value (as was the wine). I have eaten a few times at the Ivy but it now seems just to be an expensive facsimile of what it was.

Excellent meal & service. They were very busy with larger groups but managed to fit us in and allowed us to wait while a better table became free. Both had the set menu which was really good , one steak fries and one chicken with a lovely mushroom sauce

Love everything about The Ivy especially if you like the art deco period. Always on the list of places to go for special occasions but we've even been for breakfast at the Clifton Bristol restaurant. I'm not going to complain about anything however my only concern is that the toilets are down stairs, lovely as they are, when you struggle to walk due to illness, it's not that convenient.

We managed to squeeze in for lunch on a busy Sunday in horrific weather. The staff were warm and welcoming and the service was spot on, despite the busy time of day. The presentation of both the food (I had the lobster and prawn cocktail) and the seasonal cocktails were above and beyond what we had expected and we're looking forward to returning in the future.

Extremely disappointed. I booked a table at the bar area that I believed would be a table in the bar area. On arriving we were told everything was ready for us and was taken to the bar, high bar stools not really suitable for eating a 3 course meal. The barman kept asking us to order drinks, we said we were waiting for a table. After 20 minutes no one came to take our order so I asked one of the staff when our table would be ready and she replied that the bar was our table. I said it wasnt what I expected so she took us upstairs to another bar area. After 15 minutes no one came to take our order. The area was cold and not one of staff spoke to us so we left. I didnt expect to have to go to the bar to order food as you would when ordering pub grub. Staff were ignorant.

I was very lucky to stumble across this lil gem in the very heart of Bath. Super atmospheric and the choice of wine by glass is excellent! And thanks to lovely Anetta I ordered a baked camembert with honey and boy that was a perfect dish for a cold rainy lunch! Will be back and definitely recommend
