We had an excellent breakfast, with professional staff. The premises were very clean and tidy. The only minor criticism was the English breakfast tea was served with too much water, so was weak. But thanks for a love breakfast.

Having confirmed gluten free Afternoon Tea was no problem - it was a plain disappointment. Poor quality gf bread sandwiches with hardly any fillings! Regarding cakes there was a 2cm chocolate brownie with dish of fruit conserve. Really gf seemed to mean omitting cakes. The strange thing was there was a small plant pot of soured cream with a garnish of basil. The highlight for both of us was the two fruit scones with jam, cream and a few strawberries. My husband’s comment was however that I hadn’t missed anything special as his cakes were so sweet they over whelmed any flavour! Yes the drama of the ? dry ice was impressive but we were hoping for our Afternoon Tea. Not a good experience and so gluten free customers should avoid the Ivy

Visited as a couple for belated birthday drinks and a dessert having booked before hand. We were sat upstairs directly opposite the bar and were glanced at & made eye contact with on multiple occasions by the staff, but were never served or even approached. Upped & left after around 30 minutes as it wasn't even particularly busy so unable to make excuses on the staffs behalf. Very disappointing.

My daughter and me dined regularly at the ivy bath and covert garden london. Last week we decided to try there new sunday lunch menu, and what a terrible disappointment it was. It said half roast chicken I had fillet cut in half , shop bought tasteless frozen roast potatoes two pre shop bought frozen Yorkshire pudding one shop bought pre frozen stuffing ball. And the only vegetables was very small amount mashed swede and seven green beans!. And the gravy was minimist small jug only covered one potato. For £23 95 was the worst roast Dinner we have had. Good service. Food portion small but nicely prepared. Ordered Sirloin steak but I had to order separate the chips sauce and veg (additional cost). Couple of things let the evening down.....food excellent except the vegetable tempura....so very very salty, it was explained that the vegi is kept in salt water and more salt in the batter....but only able to eat 40% and gave up.....found the kitchen slow...on a Monday? Finally the bartender had a habit or using his hand to stroke his hair front to back while working, which for me sitting opposite is no good.....and a place to hang coats would have been great...

Visited for the first time over the weekend. Left feeling underwhelmed. Just didn't live up to what you would expect. Service was average at best, certainly didn't reflect the service charge added to the bill. We eat out in bath regularly and this place comes up short against the competition charging a lot less. Quality of food was ok but just didn't warrant the higher prices.

First time at The Ivy franchise and left with mixed feelings. The opulence of the surroundings did not disappoint! The food (ordered from the a la carte menu) and cocktails were tasty and well put together, albeit on the pricier side. A fillet steak with 2 sides (chunky chips and spinach) came close to £50. The service was however lac lustre - we visited as a party of two and felt somewhat ignored by the staff when compared to the larger dining parties. We were however, served with the same 12.5% service charge on the final bill. The quality of the food / cocktails 9/10, unfortunately the service on this occasion was below average. Won’t be inclined to visit again in a hurry.

I was disappointed with the food we were served last night at the ivy in Milsom street last evening (05/10/24). I had the scallops to start, shepherds pie for my main and sticky toffee pudding for Dessert. The starters were Luke warm, shepherds pie was Luke warm, lumpy meat and the broccoli was undercooked by a mile, it was difficult to cut it and stab it with a knife and fork, I had to pick it up with my hands to bite into it. The dessert was lukewarm warm over baked and not enough sauce to make it sticky. My friends who were eating there for the first time(as I’d raved about it) also had the same experience. Suffice to say we won’t be returning nor recommending the ivy. We’ve eaten far better for a lot less. Your only saving grace was the waitress who was excellent and that why we paid the service charge.

We had the roast dinner today. It was beyond disappointing the beef was old and tough, no seasoning. The roast potatoes was the nicest part of it the rest was bland. 2 roasts 2 drinks cost nearly £100 not worth it at all. This was only due to asking for the drink menu part way through our meal but no one coming back to us for our order. I booked afternoon tea for 3 o'clock on Sunday, 29th September for three people. Upon arrival, there was no one at the reception to greet us, which felt a bit disorganised. After being seated, we ordered our drinks, but I was told there was an issue with the coffee machine, so I had to switch to tea. Not a big deal, but a bit of an inconvenience. Things went downhill from there. Our cakes, scones, and sandwiches arrived before our tea, which seemed odd, and despite asking twice for the tea to be served with the food, we ended up waiting 45 minutes. By the time the tea arrived, we had already finished our sandwiches and scones, as we had held off eating the cakes while waiting. Additionally, I had to request extra jam for the scones twice and even had to ask for cutlery for one of the cakes that required a spoon. The service, although the staff were polite, was lacking in attentiveness, which made the whole experience rather disappointing. On the positive side, the venue itself is lovely, and the food and drinks were pleasant. As a nice gesture, we were given a free profiterole since it was my mother's birthday, which was appreciated. However, I was surprised to see a service charge on the bill, considering the level of service we received. All in all, the atmosphere and food were good, but the service needs improvement.

I’m in absolute shock at the level of service today at The Ivy in Bath 14/09/24! It was the most slow and atrocious service I have ever experienced. It’s such a shame as the afternoon tea selection was lovely! It was so unexpected having been to the Ivy in Soho and Covent Garden in London. My husband booked an afternoon tea for my birthday as I am a big fan of afternoon teas and have not had one at the Ivy before. He booked it for 3.15pm and we arrived at 3.20pm. We were greeted nicely, seated and asked anything we wanted. At first we just asked for water so we can have some time to look at the menu and decide. It took over half an hour for them to just serve us water. We then asked for mocktail before the afternoon tea. Which took another half an hour to arrive. We didn’t think much of it. Until we saw a table across from us with group of people celebrating baby shower who had arrived 20mins after us have their afternoon teas served. And at this point we were getting quite hungry. By the time they served us the afternoon 90mins has passed! At 4.40 as were discussing whether to leave, the afternoon tea had just arrived at 4.45. So we decided to just tuck in rather than ruin the afternoon. What was bizarre is we had no apology or acknowledgement for the afternoon tea being late. Also during that time we had no server or waiter come to our table to ask if we were ok or needed anything. While all the other tables had multiple visits from the waiters. We were the last people left with afternoon tea on our table while people were coming in to have their dinners for the evening. We had finished our afternoon tea by 5.30. By 6pm when we noticed no one come to even ask if had finished we called over a waiter to bring the bill. We even joked we may have to stay for dinner and bedtime. Again no acknowledgment or apology. By the time we left it was 6.20 and many people who had come for dinner already had their dinner severed, finish and had left. It was the most strange experience we have encountered. Thank god for the great food!

The Ivy Bath was lovely, very good food and cocktails were delicious. Service however was very poor. The gentleman serving us firstly did not know the menu and throughout the night continuously got orders wrong. At the end of the night we were also charged for all the incorrect orders. This was rectified by management but the service from our waiter was very poor. The waiter (Alex) was definitely new to waiting which is fine, but I would have expected some more humility instead of thanking me for making another choice of drink because he didn’t know what I ordered (just ask). But I understand a young bloke just having a job while studying potentially, but still we are paying for a service so I would have liked a bit more commitment.

Very professional but relaxed and casual style of conversation, knowledgable about the available dishes and informative. I had Lamb Rump for my main course, which was over cooked and delivered on a cold plate, therefore the food was cold. Very dissapointed for an Ivy. Been to a couple of them before and really enjoyed. We visited Bath for the weekend and really wanted a nice seated dinner. The service was great but the food was very disappointing. The medium rare stake was that my partner ordered was more like well done, and my monkfish coconut curry had no fish or prawns in it.. Didn't bother make any comment as some spices that were in the dish were not on my taste anyway and wouldn't have enjoyed it in any case. Not happy to pay £100+ and go home hungry tho... Can't complain about the place as it does look very nice and the service was quite ok. Atmosphere wise not much to say as it was about to close...

I get this isn’t a steak house but if they sell it for the price they do it should be good. Also vodka and coke £10.50 insane. Avoid if you want a good steak.

What a terrible experience at the Ivy Bath. It went wrong from the moment myself and my family stepped though the door we were running late but actually that didn’t matter as are table wasn’t ready when we arrived anyway. I explained to the lady on the door that i had brought some pasta for my daughter to eat because she has an eating disorder and struggles to eat out she responded ok thats fine. We were then asked to take a seat at the bar while we waited for our table this wasn’t ideal as my daughter is only 9 but we sat there all the same and ordered some drinks. While sat at the bar one of the waiters couldn’t reach a bottle of wine from the top shelf so he climbed on to the mat that is used to cut the fruit for the drinks with his dirty shoes on. The manager then came over to myself and my family and said that my 9 year old daughter could not eat her pasta in the restaurant because of food contamination. Now i am trying to work out what is more contaminating my daughter eating pasta or the member of staff standing on the counter where the fruits are cut. In response to this i just said fine and we were shown to our table. We asked to order straight away mainly because my daughter couldn’t eat are order was taken and we explained that the last time we had visited the restaurant most of our food had arrived cold so please could they make sure this didn't happen again. My partner ordered a burger and asked for cheese i had the shepherds pie with Broccoli. My partner also asked for another drink. when the food arrived about 15 minutes later the Broccoli was cold there was no cheese in the burger so we had to send the food back which was disappointing as we had said before about our last experience. We asked for sauces these weren’t brought over until most of the meal had been eaten and then there was the drink which turned out to be a no show and it wasn’t until we asked the waitress again about the drink that she said its on its way but by this point my partner had finished his meal so no longer wanted the drink. At the end of the meal the waitress asked us how our food was and i said to be honest it wasn’t the best and explained why and she became quite rude. So overall would i return to this restaurant honestly no do i think it was worth £110 no and i definitely wouldn’t recommend it either.

We had a very nice moment. Food was good, service was excellent, customer care was great. We planned to have main course + desserts. Unfortunately after the main dish we were full. Desserts will be for our next visit. 😊 Thank you.

Afternoon tea an absolute delight. Staff very accommodating. Drama of smoke cascading down the cake stand. Food pretty good to. Would highly recommend.

The food was good. There were many different menus laid on the reserved table leading to confusion which could have avoided delay. We were a group of eight. Two of us ordered starters. Others ordered the main course. We were pressed for time. They could have easily provided the main course for others, else they could have explained the situation. This led to a rush & we were even prepared to leave settling the bill without waiting anymore for the food. But they bought it at the last minute and had a quick bite!

Booked at the ivy for Granddaughters graduation expecting food to be something special how disappointing we all were, starters were ok though the zucchini fritti was very over salted, mains- three of us had the chicken couldn’t cut it let alone eat it, very hard and dry the piece I did try was tasteless, youngest granddaughter ordered the burger it came with tomatoe and horseradish sauce, I asked the waiter if the sauce was inside the bun he said no it came on the side, it would have been helpful if the waiter had explained there would be mayonnaise on the burger which she hates, the burger was also very dry and grisly, over priced for the quality of the food. Needless to say we won’t be returning to The Ivy, up to that point it had been a special day but our experience at the Ivy spoiled what should have been the perfect end to our day of celebration.

First time in Bath, first time at the Ivy. Very busy vibe, graduation week, and yet service was excellent and attentive, could not fault it. The food was very good with the highlight of the evening being my nephew's chips. Utterly delicious and well salted. The absolutely only point of contention was the music: too loud and not environment appropriate IMO.

Consistently delicious all around except for the pasta which was too oily and nothing special. The fish and chips here was the best we have had across all the Ivy restaurants we went to!

So disappointing, such a shame. Started when we arrived 10 minutes early and we were sent out of establishment to go to another bar and asked to come back later on, rather than go into the bar itself for a drink to wait for the table. I had booked the bar, not knowing that it was actually sat at the bar (that is my fault though) when asking if I could move to a restaurant table after checking availability online, I was told I wasn’t able to because I made a bar booking, despite multiple available tables and I could have actually booked a table there and then online. The lady in charge was rather rude and not helpful or accommodating at all. I did put a note on the original booking that it was my 40th birthday, not expecting anything in particular, but it wasn’t even mentioned. The food itself was really quite bland. The Shepard’s Pie was quite nice, but was luke warm, the starters came out at the same time the mains…and my wife’s chicken was bland and Luke warm also, along with the tasteless side. I know it’s not “THE IVY” itself, but this couldn’t be further from it, so so disappointing and ruined what was meant to be a really special evening. Wouldn’t return

We originally thought this was a French Brasserie, but found this was not really the case. It is attached to the Royal Hotel in Bath, it you don’t have to be a resident to book a table here. However, the menu had much to our liking and didn’t disappoint. The starters we had were very tasty, lentil and bacon soup with chestnuts for hubby , and smoked mackerel pate for me with a nice variety of bread provided by the lovely waitress , who was managing every table on her own.very admirably. For mains hubby had chicken mixed grill and I had a rare sirloin, both with chunky chips, everything cooked perfectly. Although we were offered a sweet menu neither of us could take advantage of sampling the offerings. A very reasonable restaurant which we would certainly recommend eating at

An epicurean delight from start to finish. Lovely atmosphere, attentive staff, and great wine. Imaginative, tasty, and well presented food. The dessert was an absolute showstopper. The perfect evening. Can’t wait for the retour.
