M3 Motorway Services in Winchester

Got fined for staying longer than 2 hours. Most service station stays are for 3 yours but not yours. Well done, you have successfully ripped me off. How clever. Service stations are supposed to be there for a break. Had lunch, made a call and a quick nap. That’s not untypical of business travellers or those that work hard. Cost me £170. A true success for ripping off innocent customers. Hope that you enjoy your “ill-gotten” gains. What has happened to the UK?

Burger King gave us a cold burger my, when I told them It was cold they said put in the microwave in the corner! And hardly any chips!! Went to Costa for a coffee and the girl was so rude! Never again!

All customer service team members and people working there are great! My daughter unfortunately left her mobile phone in the Burger King in Moto Winchester Southbound service area, they have found it, take it, prepared a box, attached courier labels and when the courier didn't go TWICE to collect the parcel, Mrs Olga Telsevska, site manager, decided to deliver the phone personally to my daughter and after 6 days (only because of this bad courier) she finally has it! So, a special thanks to this wonderful people! Who has found it, who prepared the box, attached the labels, read my sms, messages and mails and above all, a HUGE thanks to Olga Telsevska who personally delivered the phone to my daughter! Cannot believe it today! I'm so happy and grateful, I will come to visit Moto Winchester Southbound during my next trip in UK! THANK YOU ALL AND OLGA, GREAT GREAT ASSISTANCE!

OK; I am not an aficionado of service areas and loathe the existence of the M3 services at Fleet. However I called into this one at Winchester and my experience was great. Its smaller, more compact but everything works. Small range of food outlets but everywhere was clean with great staff. Ignore the one at Fleet- come in here instead.

Very poor. No water, no toilets. Vegetation not cut back and hazard at junctions in car park. So disappointed. I think the provider has changed to MOTO.

I would have taken this back if I hadn’t got the coffee to go - tasted of chemicals! Completely undrinkable. How do I make a complaint!

I’ve used both the northbound and southbound M &S shops for quite a number of years and been quite satisfied with the food I’ve purchased there. But yesterday my husband and I stopped after attending a funeral in London. We wanted a quick lunch before going back home. The selection of sandwiches was very poor and although my husband’s sandwich was within the best before date, it seemed dry and a bit stale, I chose a salmon and potato salad meal. The size of the salmon was small but tasty but the potatoes were undercooked. I like to treat myself to the yum yum doughnuts that M & S do. The packet was damp and the doughnuts were flabby and came apart as I took them out of the packet. I ate part of one and threw the others away. A totally indigestible meal. I understand that a branch of Greggs is soon to be opened in the southbound service area and should I need to stop for food there, I will give Greggs a try.

Costa charging and extra 60p for the tiny amount of its own brand Oat Milk in a Flat White (making the £4.40 espresso shot a total of £5!) is outrageous. Penalising people who can’t tolerate dairy. The difference in price for what is amount 100ml of milk is petty and ridiculous.

Having been to Gosport twice within the last few days we have stopped here for lunch twice. We have used Burger King and M&S. Both quite good, speedy service. An outdoor area to eat which is clean. Only downside is everything goes into one bin, no recycling done here which is not good. Clean toilets.

Excellent service, left my phone outside of one of the seating benches and staff kindly picked it up and even sent it to the northbound centre so I could pick it up on my way back!

Some WH Smith outlets at services do stock gluten free rolls or sandwiches, but sadly not all of them, and i was unable to get any gluten free savoury sandwiches , wraps or rolls to take away. In fact all i was offered was a packet of crisps or a nut bar. Just not suitable.

NO recycling bins ANywhere in M3 Southbound services~really?! Empied 2 x water bottkes driving, hoped to recycle, not a chance!! Ina fast food place where thers SO much paper & plaztic?! Naaaa

Fuel cost is disgusting, £1.89.9 for diesel that can be bought about 25p a litre less at a normal roadside garage.

Every morning i get coffe coffee from there but 4-5 days a week Steak&Mexican cheddar toastie is not available between 8-9 am.

We stopped here for lunch. Burger King was closed and another food outlet was boarded up. The place was very run down and tatty. The only possibilities were Cornish Pasties, M&S Food or Costa. We chose Costa toasties which were £4.95 each and very limp. We’ll stop elsewhere next time …

M&S Winchester Services Southbound Lovely staff - helpful and cheerful. Unusual for motorway service area! Will definitely call in there again.

Great to see people with a smile working at M&S late on Friday night, broke up a long journey very nicely!

My friend and I stopped off at the Winchester services to get a coffee at costa and the service was very pleasant. One of the members of staff Tara who worked at costa was absolutely amazing, she was so welcoming and gave the best service, she was helpful and put a big smile on our faces. Considering it was 12:00 at night!

5 quid for a cold machine coffee and a mars bar ....avoid .....stopped aa discount will not stop again

M3 southbound 10am visitEnjoyed a lovely breakfast from Harry Ramsden’s. It was cooked perfectly apart from the fried egg which was cremated. The bacon was tough as it was just a little over cooked.It was priced fairly and the presentation was good.What really let it down was the ridiculous wooden fork which would hardly cut butter. Cutting the bacon was virtually impossible and it struggled with the sausage.The seats and chairs were very clean and it felt a safe place to eat

Whilst we were eating our lunch inside the building, having observed all the latest Covid rules and regulations, two groups of people entered, both groups of African/Asian appearance. All were in their 20s/30s. None were wearing masks. One group of ladies were trying on hats in W H Smith, another group were shopping for food in the M & S outlet. It is instances like this that make a mockery of the whole Covid situation. No sign of any security staff on duty, either.

When we stopped, there was no one here!! Post acopylitic look. Toilets are filthy. Very few staffs!!

Worst customer service and rude staff. I would totally avoid. Ordered food and after 30mins of waiting asked the customer service gentleman how long I needed to wait to get my order. His reply was "sorry forgot about it. Need to re order again". I was disappointed and left and whilst going turned my back and saw this gentleman and the other staff laughing/gossiping. Really rude. Please avoid.

We paused our journey at M3 Winchester services, northbound, early December.Lovely staff, tasty coffees, bacon roll and lattice pastry, excellent covid measures.But oh my, beware the temperature of the black coffee. I love my coffee hot, but this was scalding. I told the staff and asked for some cold water to help cool it to a safe temperature.Is it fixed yet? Beware.

It is right in front of Days Inn by Wyndham M3 where we could buy food and drinks before and after being away from the hotel to visit interesting places. I love the deals being offered by M&S.

After a marvellous sojourn, myself, a colleague and his car needed a pit-stop.We saw the illuminated symbol for Burger King glistening like a ‘lambent flame’ (as Gil Chesterton in ‘Frasier’ would say), but we thought......no no no......we had only had one yesterday.So.....Gregg’s it was! I think this was only the third time in my life, that I’d had a Gregg’s.....unusual.Totally decent and clean service. My vegan steak bake was most enjoyable....colleague’s tandoori chicken baguette was enjoyed.The service station itself - decent and tidy.Obviously, very decent amount of parking.Amenities - all good

Winchester Restaurants and Cafe's were heaving, so we avoided them, but stopped to get a coffee in Costa and found a very pleasant surprise. Inside the services, there is a very large Costa, and tables were well spaced apart. We stopped inside, and they ask for your name and phone number to sit indoors. It was very pleasant. Costa as always is a relaxing place, a real comfort cafe. Lots to see and do, and with WH smith and a M&S lots of places to stock up with essentials, but no overly priced as some services can be.Parking outside was ample with picnic tables around, alot of people opted to sit in their cars in these presedented times. For us it was a welcome break after spending a couple of hours in an overcrowded city of Winchester, with no one heeding to the wearing masks in public areas and distancing in cafes, restaurants and pubs happening.It is no wonder that Winchester has a high covid 19 rating.I would certainly use them again, and the toilets were clean and fresh.

The 3 staff at 11am 28.08.20 were talking in a foreign language all together ignoring me .Didnt offer sugar or sauce. The coffee was mediocre and the bacon roll was incinerated as they were too busy chatting

We asked for a tuna wrap at Subways but alas they couldn’t give us one as the excuse was that the till couldn’t process such a complicated request. It was on the menu but apparently not on the till.We could have had a thousand different variations of different things but alas a simple tuna wrap is beyond the wit of mankind. Suggestion is to train the staff to be able to provide something that was on the menu but not on the till

Stopped for a Burger King on the Northbound services. that met the standard set by BK and filled a little hole. Nothing wrong here.My main grip would be the tables had not been wiped down for some time and were absolutely filthy, most users had done the decent thing and put their rubbish in the bin.Toilets not too bad for a service station

Absolutely filthy. I wouldn’t want to touch anything let alone eat or drink anything, and they wanted to overcharge my friend for his coffee as they had run out of change.

The car park is badly planned and the spaces are small but the services were not over busy and provided a break from the drive. The M and S sandwiches were good and the loos were clean . We found the staff to be generally helpful and would stop again if necessary. After all they are services - not a fancy restaurant.

One of your typical M-way stopping points. Leg stretch, coffee and a BLT for breakfast. A first visit and it looks quite new... I had stayed overnight in the Days Inn next door and it was fine.

This has to rate as one of the worst services we have ever used. The car park is ridiculously designed and causes hold ups where they are not necessary. We eventually found a disabled bay and went in to Burger King. BIG MISTAKE! We ordered our food on the screen and waited. And waited, and waited. As it transpired there were only 3 members of staff on and they simply couldn't keep up. A meal from a Fast Food chain should not take 40 mins. We were a lot more patient than some who demanded a refund. The response was to do their order straight away, pushing the rest off us back. This was evident by the order numbers coming out in random sequences. Absolute shambles. I am not blaming the poor blokes working. The blame lies totally with atrocious management. I will be letting other travellers know to avoid.

Horrendously overpriced facilities, refreshments not worth entertaining - washroom facilities very good indeed though, clean and bright with unique areas, main area open plan- reminds me too much of an airport with prices to match. Has been considerably rebuilt since last I visited but will now make a definite choice not to pull in again unless emergency.

The place needed a good clean tables were full of empty cups Costa coffee was cold worst l have ever tasted .The rats will be back if not addressed .

Refetb nicely done plenty of space Kfc Burger king Subway Starbucks Pizza express Waitrose Harry ramsdon Wh smith And something called tossed Light airy and airconditioned

This review is based on the Costa Coffee in the services.

We always stop in here for a large coffee on our way home from a days jet skiing. Its not the biggest or the best services. But it's a welcome break on our journey home.

It's OK, greggs is there with the awesome tuna baggett. Not much seating. Subway there as well as M&S;.

Passing through and needed a coffee. The usual services with a range of stores.

Not sure how you can cremate onion rings but they managed it - absolutely awful and you are paying over the high street price for the privilege

Stopped here for a coffee on the way to Southampton. There was plenty of parking when we were there.

Been using the Costa stand (as opposed to the coffee shop) around 07.00hrs, once a week, for over a year now.

It looks like the setting of some low budget horror movie, but then there isn’t much of a selection on this part of the M3. Depressing and sticky, with very little choice of outlets. Those that are there had no food left mid afternoon. None of the tables had been cleared or wiped, which considering how few customers they have, shows an incredible level of neglect. Very average toilets. The kids ‘play area’ is desolate, splintered and weatherbeaten and I don’t think you could pay me to stay in the adjoining hotel.

Order stations....6 out of the 10 self service screens out of use. Queues for ordering food terrible especially burger king and kentucy chicken. Eating stations understaffed especially for a Friday afternoon.

Had a brief stop here for the loos, decided not to eat etc as very expensive and not far from our destination. It has Marks & spencer, Krispy Kreme, wh Smith, Costa etc and the services were clean.

One of my regular stops on the motorway network, Winchester M3 Westbound services are what I'd describe as modern mid-size. Large enough to have everything I need for a pit-stop, but not so big that it's ghastly in summer.

Maybe odd to review some motorway service station but we last stopped here possibly 3 -4 years ago and after a bad visit had stayed away. However we stopped here last week in need of a break and knowing that it had been renovated after a major fire.

The toilets were ok. Did not eat there. Never do if we can help it at Motorway Service Areas. The Motorway was quite busy, weather was quite pleasant, most people appeared to be on their way to the Coast.

I visited "Moto Hospitality/Burger King" on Sun 8th July with my daughter. We purchased two small meals and went to eat outside. The kids meal chicken burger was completely hard. I took it back and was offered my money back or another meal by the very rude manager. Stupidly I opted for another meal. I was then told that if I wanted another chicken burger it would be the same as the one I had returned. Better to go for a beef burger which would be softer!! So I agreed. Having got outside and looked at the burger, it was dry and hard. Left FAR TOO LONG in the drawer. Clearly the staff weren't going to start cooking again so late on a Sunday afternoon.

Fortunately, I didn’t want any but felt sorry for those in a long queue. Thanks to Marks & Spencer I was able to leave with lunch to be microwaved later in the day. This is quite a depressing service station but as the lavatory was the main objective, beggars can’t be choosers. Avoid!

Had a great time, really lovely drive. Couple of mishaps on the way, very hard driving blind. Guide dog was more of a hindrance than a help, but a joke all the same. The same can’t be said for the for the wimpy that I careered into through Guildford that they’ve now renamed limpy. Good joke.

Some of these reviews are not of these particular services as the outlets stated are not there. We were there at 9am on a Sunday of a sunny bank holiday weekend, the good weather was well predicted and this was our experience. Burger King, shut. Costa outlets, shut. Costa main coffee shop, huge queue, 1 panini in the fridge no food but cake available. Pasty outlet, huge queue, 1 stressed lady serving who was spending all her time putting things in the oven trying to keep up but not really serving any customers for ages. Tables all uncleared and dirty, toilets filthy. There is an M&S; that nobody seemed to be going into, not sure why but one thing I can be sure of is that we will never ever go anywhere near these abysmal services ever again. Never felt the need to review a services but this experience so dreadful.

Stopped here and found the place to be very clean and the staff extremely friendly in all the outlets we visited. A nice little services.

Clean both inside and on the grounds, lots of parking and very spacious inside. I really can't complain!

Mac Donald’s or sub way utter rubbish tastes like s*** totally enedable will not stop there again( east bound) west bound is a little bit better and that is only a temporary building

Stopped here for lunch thinking it'll be a chance to relax before getting on the road again. Wish I hadn't. There's a Costa, burger king, Marks and WHSmiths. Very small and looking tired.

In this day and age ( the year of the women) you would expect women’s toilets to be working including door locks and clean - if that’s what you want don’t stop here they are a disgrace

the queue at costa here is always massive. I don't quite understand why they don't have more staff working there. For an extra minimum wage staff i'm sure they could be pumping out dozens of more coffee's. I'm not good at maths, but pretty sure...

Added some time after te M3 opened between Popham and Winchester, this service area enables you to prepare before facing the congestion around Winchester - or, if you are heading north, to recover after the jams at M3 J9 (Winnall/A34). Not the best in the...

Stopped here during a quiet time about 2.30pm and thought we would have a drink and a snack. We waited at Costa for 15 mins and gave up. Then went to Burger King and was going to get a snack but they were slow so gave up. In the end we went to the Costa machine in WH SMiths. At least it was quick although the machine is dirty and old !!

We stopped at Winchester Services for a drink break. I asked if their hot chocolate is gluten free as I am allergic to gluten. None of the staff knew and because the allergen book is quite large the girl who was looking up the allergy advice decided to tell me I couldn't have the hot chocolate,as she was too busy to find out for me whether or not it contained gluten. I googled it and found the same list, and soon found that it is actually gluten free, so she eventually swapped my coffee for the hot chocolate I wanted in the first place. What terrible service and very unkind to penalise me because she was too busy,

We stopped for our "start of the holidays" breakfast, about 8.30am on a Sunday. Burger King not open, nowhere that serves cooked breakfast, no bacon butties at the pasty place. Toilets very dirty, all the bins overflowing. We won't stop here again.

So far, this is the first time I've been to Winchester Services and I think it's very nice. The inside and outside of this service station is nicely laid out. It's not the best service station I've ever to but it is a service station that I think is ok but in my opinion I have been to better services(no offence). Like it's not bad, it's good but the not the best in a way I see this service station.

ordered cortado made with old paradise street beans, the only coffee that is actually drinkable when desperate. watched barista, she didnt get the coffee from the hopper that has these beans, which is usually a little away from the machine, instead she used the same old bog standard beans, this has happened four times now in different costa shops, so be warned, watch the barista closely to see where they get the beans from. don't care about the extra money, just the fact that they think you won't notice the difference avoid these rubbish chains if possible but sometimes that's all there is.

Stopped there last night at 9 30,Costa were closing for 30 minutes ,Burger King so slow,toilets you could smell as you walked through the door.We walked !

Just stopped here on the way past to get the kids some dinner. Diogo who was supposedly a MANAGER, was rude, abrupt and arrogant. Food was fine but manners cost nothing. Also to charge £1 for a few dips after spending over £20 on food is con.Wouldn't rush back to receive service like this.

I know that the Fleet services are closed Southbound - so we expected that the Winchester Services would be busier that usual, we were not prepared for the extremely long queues at Costa and the speed of service which was dire. At least 20 minutes to get to the front of the queue no sense of urgency, and some staff were not involved in serving customers.The only other food outlet had a similar queue - most of the seating areas were also full.Frankly treating clients as a captive audience - you need a break, possibly drink / snack and this is the only option!

Bought a Chicken Royale and chips in Burger King. Not impressed by the young woman who served us. Firstly, she was chewing gum. Then, because the customer she was serving, took a long time to decide what she wanted, the young woman began tapping her fingers on a metal object on the desk. The queue was getting longer and longer but she didn't ask for help; so no-one opened another till! Not impressed

So went to the Winchester services going towards the coast we had some issues with are drinks at costa ive never known a more rude guy in my life we asked him to replace are drinks he started screaming at us i think he was a manager i think he's name was dillon everyone was looking he was so so rude he was just shouting at us there was a lovely guy working there i think he was Aaron he was so karm and said he would sort it dillon was shouting at him not to replace are drinks i really think Aaron should be the manager Dillon is so nasty ! Not good customer services apart from Aaron

Often call in here to get a coffee to go if I am driving to Heathrow. Usual Costa package. They are more expensive than on the high street. However, don't forget to use your AA membership card and they will discount the price to about high street prices (AA discounts also apply to all other outlets/shops in the Services). "Tiredness can kill. Take a break".

Nice clean toilets but no where to eat a proper meal. It was quite and clean with plenty of parking but Costa burger king. No proper food.

We stopped at both Fleet and Winchester Services recently. Winchester is not great as service stations go but it is more modern and rather nicer than Fleet with better toilet facilities.

We stopped here on our way home. The costa was very busy but not a seriously long wait, the disabled toilet was clean, if fact whilst we were having our coffee someone was coming round cleaning the tables and clearing away. So we felt the services were very good.

Just got back from a trip to France. Stopped at Winchester Costa M3 southbound on the way about 8.30am and northbound about 9.30pm on the way back. I like a small dry cappuccino and a glass of iced water and somewhere nice to sit outside and enjoy a cigarette. PERFECT on both occasions...perfect coffee, friendly staff, plenty of seating with two giant umbrellas to protect from rain or sun. Looking forward to my next trip down the M3 when I'll be counting down the miles to Costa. Oh yes, also had a delicious Belgian caramel shortbread on the northbound visit.

A very busy day but that's no excuse for how disgusting the floors, tables and toilets are! £4.29 for a soggy sandwich was preferable to the 29min queue for McDonald's !!!Here for 45min refreshment stop, not a single table was cleared or wiped in that time- will be wiping my feet on the way out!

Why do yup stop at the services early in the morning - probably to get fuel or eat breakfast. Not being that early ie 7.30 am you would expect to be able to get breakfast - like you used to here when it was as good a motorway service as you could get. No longer - even Burger King not open. The traditional cafe replaced by an M and S - why?Oh yes theCornish pasty place was open with some sort of burger breakfast deal. No thanks - left and found breakfast at premier inn on the Eastleigh exit on the M3.

Stopping off at a motorway services normally means overpriced petrol, smelly toilets and uninspiring food. However Winchester is a surprising step in the right direction and standards are a little high than normal. Outdoor seating allows you to relax and queuing was short but do avoid peak times. Not bad!!

Stopped off here on our travels with two young kids. We used the Costa which was good and had plenty of seating. Toilets clean and tidy. Overall a good service station.

Visited on our way to Dorset. Limited availability .We ordered food from Burger King, seems as we were the 2nd customer, they weren't organised and we had to wait for ages for the food.Looking around the food stalls - they all are over priced!

We stopped off here to have a break and get some refreshments, it was very busy here , I must add that the quality of coffee from the wild Bean cafe was not nice and I had to go to several shops to get what I needed.

Average service at the counter. No smiles or any facial contact from the staff. They looked extremely bored and did not attempt to interact with customers at all. It felt as if we customers were a nuisance.Food was pre-packed and certainly not made from fresh ingredients. Tasteless and will very little choice of gluten free products - unless you wanted to eat salad.Prices are extortionate and I would def not use the services again.

Great small Services set just off the M3, Nr Winchester. All the usual outlets in the modern, clean services.

Moto services, Westbound 20.00 midweek: a good selection of the usual fast-food outlets, including Costa & Burger King, plus sandwiches etc from M&S & WH Smith. All lovely staff. Clean, plenty of seating & excellent parking.So why subject visitors to cheesy, poor audio quality ads for obscure web-related services + very average and hectic muzac? Went in needed food and a rest from driving. Left full but hacked off with the din.Come on guys, this is 2016, not the 80s.ps: Thanks to the very polite & friendly Burger King staff.

Winchester services are part of the Moto group so download their app before visiting to get their daily deal which sometimes offer great discounts. Beware that there is not the full range of all outlets on both sides of the motorway though - EDC is only northbound and you can't cross over between the sites. Otherwise generally clean, not too busy and prices as you would expect. I would stop here in preference to Fleet which is always much busier but Fleet offers a greater choice of food outlets.

Three staff on this morning , one serving large queue the other two chatting out the back ! These staff saw the long queue and just chatted more . Not good service took 20 minutes for coffee as the boy was busy while the other paid staff chit chat
