A small coffee shop opposite the parish church. Obviously very popular with locals. We had seriously good coffee. Their coffee is not for the faint hearted. Whilst drinking I got a touch of food envy. Everything that was being eaten around me looked delicious. The only reason we did not return for lunch was we wanted somewhere with a fire to sit by, after a very cold visit to the church.

Have been to other cafes in this chain and had a good experience. This one lacks in customer service. The 2 staff there today did not interact with us or other customers. We were waiting at counter without acknowledgment even though staff were working behind counter. Food was average and had to ask on 2 occasions for butter for toast . Could be so much better with just a bit more attention to service.

A cosy little cafe, but the service was surly and unpleasant. I visited for coffee and food for a couple of hours. When I went to help myself to a glass of water from the self-service tap on the counter, I was TOLD OFF by a staff member for using a glass (from a large pile by the tap) rather than a disposable cup: "The glasses aren't for water," she told me with a stern, unsmiling glare, as though that should have been obvious to me. "Next time please don't use one." It was as though I'd ruined her day. Some time later, another customer made the same mistake. Once again, like lightening a staff member appeared from the kitchen to upbraid them. The customer sat down shaking his head. I also had a (very tasty) sausage roll, which took 13 minutes to appear, even though the cafe was by then almost empty. When I went to ask if it was ready, I found the (same) staff member who'd taken my order sitting in an armchair with her phone; she didn't get up but just pointed to the other staff member to fetch it. They were both completely unconcerned by any sense of delay. I had been looking forward to visiting this attractive little place, which has clearly been conceived with much care. But who wants to visit a cafe where you're scolded for drinking water from a glass?? I felt that my custom was a burden to the staff, and that I had somehow fallen short as a customer. So I'll be happy not to impose on them again.

We dropped in here for a lunch-time coffee, and were dismayed by the layout inside, which was cramped and became even more so with the arrival of families with dogs. The place is quite spartan, so that the sounds of crying children were magnified, and the furniture, while clean, was bizarre in some instances (I had to sit on a chair reminiscent of my primary school!). Although the rest of our group were satisfied with their cappuccinos or lattes, my cappuccino apparently was deemed only worthy of a smaller cup because it was decaffeinated. At £3.10 it was not at all 'value for money'. Unless you are a dog-lover, or bring your own family of noise-creating children, I suggest you avoid this café. The bakery loaves on sale looked good, but again, the prices were astronomical.

This place is in the nature of a tea-room which also sell a range of cakes, pastries and the like. A range of snack type meals are also available. The premise is directly opposite the parish church in Fairford which is a picturesque location. There is some on street car parking. I understand that this tea-room is part of a chain of tea-rooms around the Cotswold area. It is not a particularly large place and seating was limited. The staff were very pleasant. It was service with a smile. I found the place to be very relaxing and will go there again.

What sort of cafe has no skimmed milk, no croissants or pan au chocolate by 10am on a Saturday morning, and then talks to you rudely - the one serving was pleasant, the one cleaning tables was the rude one. I should of walked out - I will next time. No need for rudeness …

I normally go to other local establishments but as it was Sunday this was the only place open. Popped in on our morning dog walk on a chilly day for a coffee. Can categorically say this was the worst dirty chai I have ever had. Went for a large, with cinnamon on top, £3.80 for a large seemed fairly reasonable given the coffee prices at larger chains. Looking forward to a lovely spicy, milky drink we got our coffees to go and continued our walk but quickly realised my drink tasted like a heavily watered down coffee with a little cinnamon on top. Not a nice creamy, milky cup of spiced goodness. Couldn’t finish it because it was so unpleasant, absolutely no chai flavour to it bar a hint of cinnamon on the top. My partner ordered an Americano which also tasted watered down and bitter. Got home and made our own instead! Next time we fancy a coffee and our usual places are closed I think we just won’t bother!

Cozy, quality café, perfect for coffee lovers. Lynwood is known for their great products, bread and bakery in general. I had a chocolate twist, and later, a fontina and prosciutto bake: the defining touch was that when they offered to heat it up, I assumed it would be in a microwave and come soggy, but came warm and crispy and that made ALL the difference. I visited on a Sunday morning, around 11am, was full so you may find no sitting space, as it is not huge. They do take aways, and there is sitting outside, and nearby. They open at 8am to 2pm on Sundays (December 2021) which is great, not many places around this area open so early on Sunday. The place was full of bicycle riders and couples when I visited, informal, friendly atmosphere. I recommend 100%. Across the road is the beautiful church.

Dropped in to grab a couple of coffees and some food as heard good things. Waited outside for around 15 minutes due to the inevitable restrictions. However, got inside and placed an order and was asked if I had cash. Told them no and was advised the card machine wasn’t working. No notices on the door, no communication from the staff to the waiting queue outside. It wouldn’t be difficult to be a little more communicative

4/5 for the Sausage Roll (might've been a 5/5 if provided and offered warm/hot). 3/5 for the Latte (more the amount of it). 1/5 for the miniature and overpriced brownie. The plan was a coffee and sandwich, but it wasn't until I asked (lunchtime on a Monday) that I was informed sandwiches were 'sold out'. What kinda' bakery or cafe runs out of sandwiches midday on a Monday? It's not as if the cafe was remotely busy either... Kinda poor really, wasn't too impressed.

Don’t get me wrong, the cakes were lovely and the coffee was good, however with the current COVID situation (and the new restrictions that came out 2 days before) I would have thought the staff members would be more on the ball when it comes to cleaning tables and protecting their customers and their team. Our table was dirty with used cutlery on there, and whilst the staff were having a laugh behind the counter other people sat on tables that had been vacated a while ago and not wiped down. If you go here, I would suggest taking the lovely cakes and coffees out.

Enjoyed a cappuccino and cake on a wintry day in January. Plenty of light meal options and some sumptuous cakes at the counter. Very friendly staff, a relaxed atmosphere and nothing was too much trouble. I thought the prices just a little on the high side as I was left wondering what really does constitute a 'regular' size coffee these days. My husband's large hot chocolate looked like what I would class as a 'regular' size. My 'regular' coffee was in a slightly smaller cup than I have enjoyed in some places. But delicious coffee anyway and I would go back.

Brand new café, looks great from the outside. Good location, attractive décor, nice looking cakes. We were enthusiastic at first. Ordinarily I have no real objection to the sudden, modern trend of allowing dogs into eating establishments and yes, although the place was fairly empty there was a dog already in there when we entered. But whilst we were waiting for our drinks to arrive it quickly filled up until virtually every other table had one or more dogs at it. There were labradors, terriers and spaniels galore. The hot drinks were good and we had intended to eat but after paying nearly a fiver for a small coffee and a cup of tea, noticing a wasp crawling on the cakes and then a member of staff feeding treats to and scratching the ears of dogs before serving cakes without gloves or handwashing, yuck yuck yuck, we changed our minds. A Costa takeout at Battersea Dog's Home would have had the same ambience but been cheaper. Shame.

By luck we chose this restaurant for lunch and loved it so much went again the following evening. Smiths is a charming restaurant full of character, with a number of low-ceiling rooms. We had the” scotchy burger” both times and it was absolutely sensational. Cooked to perfection, full of flavour and quite possibly the best burger I (and my wife) have ever had or could remember having (and I’ve had a few!). The cajun fries were also perfectly cooked and added a spicy side to a (moderately) spicy burger and we left wishing this place wasn’t 2 hours away! The staff were friendly , especially the young blonde lady who was so welcoming and accommodating to us and also made the delicious chocolate mousse special that we had for desert. Definitely advisable to pre-book, this place gets very busy, and deservedly so.
