It took over 20 minutes to get our coffees (two americanos) even though the cafe was virtually empty. When it finally arrived, one of the americanos had bizarrely been whipped into a six inch cup of foam with only a splash of liquid left at the bottom. We thought the waitress had brought the wrong drink. When we said it was wrong she answered “I don’t know, I’m not on the drinks” and just walked away. We decided to leave without ordering food and then she couldn’t work the card machine - kept typing in the wrong amount and having to start the transaction over. Just generally hapless and poor service.

One of the employees made a point to come out of the kitchen and scold my wife for asking (just asking politely, did not demand) for an egg and bacon sandwich 20 minutes after breakfast was over. Wife is a new mom and hasn’t slept in days- she cried on the way home. It was the first meal out in a long time. A little kindness goes a long way sometimes, but this employee chose to humiliate and be hurtful instead of compassionate and kind, and it really affected us and our experience. Was a real shame.

We popped in between 11 and 11.30am on a weekday for brunch. Tempted by the full English, we went for the lighter choice of eggs on toast. The kids lunch menu was available, so our daughter picked a jacket potato. She was chuffed with the kids hot chocolate, and the food was all really tasty. Staff were friendly, and the cakes on offer looked delicious. Very nice little local cafe, with very reasonable prices.

Service it’s fantastic. Staff were attentive and polite. Food service was quick. Partner had a large full English and I had a sausage sandwich. The full English was enjoyed and eaten. Unfortunately I did not enjoy my sandwich. Was disappointed to receive 2 bog standard catering sausages on thick store enough bread. Would have expected a better quality sausage and maybe hand cut bread when charging £4.50. I did not eat it all as really did not like the taste or texture. My partner had the same on his full English which he did not mind. Just my preference.

Four of us called in for lunch yesterday, we hadn't booked and received a warm welcome. The waitress was kind, warm and patient. The food (halloumi salad ) was absolutely delicious. The salad was fresh and had grapes and olives, a real treat ! The premises provided a lovely break from the very wet day outside, it was warm inside and the toilets were clean. As we were having a cream tea at Chavenage House we decided not to have a piece of cake, but the cakes looked really nice and there was a great choice. Thoroughly recommended.

While staying in Tetbury we went here because of the gluten free options. We were welcomed at the door and asked if we'd like to sit inches garden, we did. It was a very pleasant area to sit. We had been handed a menu on the way in,once seated we were promptly asked for our order, we had a few questions regarding the sandwiches so were happy to wait a few minutes while another order was taken. The sandwiches were nicely presented, we enjoyed them.

The unprofessional waitress swore as she put the drinks on the table, in front of my young children. She didn't get the order right despite coming back to check as she couldn't understand her own writing. Which put us all off our experience. The food was reasonable for the price, lovely fresh bread, fresh salad garnish (although the orange slice looks nice it doesn't compliment the rest of the plate)

Nice cup of tea and coffee and two slices of millionaire shortbread when we finally got it. Service slow despite no customers (left waiting while staff chatted at the back). Waitress forgot to give us the shortbread. Made to feel a bit unwelcome (staff huddled in the way) when wanting to use toilet which is located off drink preparation area. I am afraid I can see why other Tetbury cafes were full while this one struggled to attract customers through its door. Better when it was “The Two Toads” cafe.

I expect to get better food when I eat out than I can make at home (mostly) and this was just not great... the bread that came with the soup was dry and from a packet. The soup was so hot that a day later I’ve still got burnt mouth and the salad my partner had with his baguette was soggy and a bit gone off... really unimpressed and won’t be going back...

. . This is probably the closest thing in Tetbury to a proper café. By that, I mean that this is the place you'd go if you wanted to escape from the usual Tetbury pretentiousness. The café itself is very clean, with plenty of tables and garden seating as well. I had a piece of coffee cake, which was very substantial in size, but rather sickly tasting. My coffee was also pretty tasteless. I had a flat white, which is normally quite strong, but in Lyndseys it is served like a latte but in a normal coffee cup. Average at best; will not rush back.

The key person serving, Lyndsay herself?, was a little gruff with some customers, turning them away saying ' won't get to you for ages, we're really busy'. Seemed a little odd, not the information just the way she put it. And they were busy, early afternoon, market day, but we got a table and had coffee and cake and were served pretty promptly. Coffee, americanos, was good and cake, a slice of coffee cake OK, but the star was the chocolate brownie.Perhaps their reputation is strong enough for the straight talking but could be a dangerous tactic.

I went for the standard café fare at Lyndseys – which is the antithesis of The Blue Zucchini in town (see my comments on that, too): plain, living-room style décor, no music and the gentle thrumming of hushed conversations. As it was about one o’clock, they were so busy that when a couple sat down a few minutes after me, the waitress said she was too busy to serve them just yet. Consequently, as she rushed off, they got up and left! I don’t know about you, but surely the time to shine is when you’re busy – that’s the real test of quality control, in both food and service. But maybe that’s just me…My chicken and bacon salad was much more bacon than chicken - to borrow that old joke: ‘How did you find the chicken?’ ‘Easy. I moved a piece of cucumber, and there it was!’ Harsh, perhaps, but true, since there was barely more than one mini fillet’s worth, and what was there would’ve benefitted from some ‘rehydration’, let’s say. The salad was basic – cherry tomatoes, cucumber and iceberg lettuce (really?), with slices of fruit, and garnished with dried – yes, dried - herbs. The dressing was nice, even if it didn’t arrive until I’d half-finished. On the plus side, the lemon sponge cake was lovely – even better than my old mum’s, which is saying something. Probably another one best left for tea and cake, though.

On the lookout simply for a pot of tea so Lyndseys fitted the bill. Assuming the tourist season hasn't yet started so nice & quiet too. All was well.

Lunch here at Lyndseys was a treat......lovely food and better cakes.......all good stuff. The staff were friendly, prompt and helpful. Not "posh" like so many other places in Tetbury but well worth for a visit. Try the Victoria sponge with lashings of cream.

Had a great gluten free soup, bread, and scones here, very tasty. My first scone for many years! I would recommend though that the cafe puts this on their menu, because I only found out they served gluten free by asking at another cafe. We had already passed this one deciding that it didn't look hopeful.

We had a run from Bristol up to Tetbury and feeling a tad peckish, we found Lyndsey's Cafe on Church Street in Tetbury. It was a warm day, and places were busy but our timing was just right and we got a table facing the window. A perfect cheese savoury sandwich for me, a prawn based one for my wife. Lovely brown bread, a very well filled sandwich, and a nice bit of salad and coleslaw ( in a little container should you wish to keep it separate ) and Earl Grey tea from a teapot, (amazing the difference a teapot makes ) made for a perfect light lunch. What more could you ask for, it was a friendly and professional service, well presented, 10/10 in my view.

On a lovely autumn day in tetbury we decided to stop for a bite to eat. BIG MISTAKE chosing hete!! We waiting for 50 minutes after ordering our food. No explination or communication. Staff were rude. The food was not great. Decided to go for what was described as a big breakfast. At £7.95 I was expecting locally sourced sausages and tasty bacon but instead got a very cheap rubbish and not what you expect for a high price. It's not the size but quality you want although both were missing here. When we went to pay there was no customer service. The girl did not even speak and when we said thank you (in sarcastic manor !!!) to try and force some sort of customer response there was nothing in return. Worst experience ever. Used to be nice when it was the two toads. We will avoid this place at all costs. SHAME.

After "rain stopped play" on our planned 5.5 mile walk we decided to stop for afternoon tea instead. A warm welcome awaited us at this little cafe close by St Marys' Church and the Market Hall. Reasonable prices and scrummy homemade cakes and a lovely pot of tea. Recommended.

We stayed in SotW for a friends wedding locally. It appeared everyone had come upto the Cotswolds for wedding that weekends at the White Hart was our 5th attempt at finding a spot for dinner - turns out 5th time lucky it was! We had lovely service throughout dinner, fantastic food in a really lovely dining room. Would strongly recommend, nice selection of drinks and main meals, could well be a lovely spot for dinner for two or small groups as well visiting the area.

Fresh food, great service, child friendly too, what more could you want from a restaurant serving Sunday Lunch. We've just come back from Sunday Lunch at Roots + Seeds in Cirencester. Crispy beer batter on the fish, really chunky chips (not fries) silky smooth mushy peas pretty much a perfect combination. The young front of house team have been well trained to make everyone feel welcome too.

A lovely tea shop on the High St. I sat outside the front on the limited pavement seating. The staff were lovely and the food well presented. The pasty was though expensive and there was no wow factor. The ice bun was heavy and sticky. The coffee was delicious. Would return but not spend so much.
