Came for lunch for a family members birthday. Walked from Durdle Door down to Lulworth Cove having booked 3 tables for the 16 of us. Food was delicious and staff very friendly. Would certainly return in the future.

Sunday lunch was great - huge portions (the kids ones were huge too) and plenty of different vegetables all cooked really well. Gravy was a bit watery. They’d run out of custard for dessert though, and we were fairly early in the day. Quite an expensive meal, but good quality. We came back for an evening meal later in the week and the Sunday lunch was definitely way better.

Popped in initially to get some respite from the rain on a visit to Lulworth cove. We were greeted by a lady who offered us a table and told us to order food at the bar - but she did warn they had reservations for dinner coming in so there were busy. Having looked at the menu we decided to stop and have Sunday dinner as it looked good. Wish we hadn’t bothered. Girl on the bar was very frosty and not particularly helpful, she barely looked up and had really quite a rude attitude. We ordered 2 x roast beef for the adults and 2 x burgers meals for the children. I did ask if the kids meal of southern fried chicken comes with chips and was scoffed at and told no! That old famous dish for children of chicken dippers and mixed leaves on the menu! Strange combination! Anyway - the roast beef dinners we received were passable - much smaller than what others around us appeared to be getting but actually taste wise not a terrible meal but certainly not worthy of a £20 price tag. The kids burgers came absolutely smothered in ketchup / mayo mix which again is a brave move - nothing mentioned on the menu about it and my children didn’t enjoy it at all. No one came to clear the table in order to get the children the ice creams as paid for as part of the children’s meal. After about 30 mins I went up the bar to ask - was advised they would come out in a minute. Another 15 / 20 mins passed and still nothing. Had to go and ask again and found the waitress just chilling at the end of the bar - having completely forgotten about us. Asked again and she returned with two little pots of ice cream. Such a fantastic location- they really need to fine tune the level of customer service and take the food up a notch. Perhaps a mix and match kids menu like other pubs would be beneficial? I’d save your money and go elsewhere to be honest. We will be returning to the cove but will walk straight past this place!

We had booked a table here in advanced. We walked in and granted it was a busy bank holiday Monday, but there was little instruction on how things worked. Eventually found my reserved table (no thanks to staff- by look for my name on the table). We were not told whether it was table service or ordering at the bar so eventually guessed. We ordered and were told it was a 40minute wait for food, understandable for walk ins but seems a bit rude for a booked table that arrived on time. Food came which was a minuscule portion of moules (pictured) with dry stale bread and the chicken which we ordered with chips but came with roast potatoes. Wouldn’t recommend- next time we will take a picnic.

We called in after a lovely walk over from Durdle Door. Greeting was pretty frosty as we arrived and asked for a table to be abruptly told ‘take a menu, find a table, order at the bar’… we decided that we would just assume it was one person on a bad day and stay. Lady on the bar we ordered from was chatty and helpful, food was good pub food and served without a huge wait even though it was quite busy, the waiting staff were all really friendly… so glad that we weren’t put off on our first impression though.

Visited on a quiet Thursday evening, the pub itself looked very nice. We sat down at our table and were served by one of the cast of The Greatest Showman - the Tattooed Lady, drinks order and food order was taken and the drinks and starters arrived promptly - the Blanchbait was very good (it’s difficult to get deep fried whitebait wrong though isn’t it) the 3 other members of our party ordered the mackerel pate, the pate was doused in malt vinegar and on the verge of being inedible. Then the wait for the main courses began, an hour later after still no dinners and seeing food being delivered to customers who sat down after us, we enquired when we would be served only to be told there had been a mix up in the kitchen and they would start preparing our order soon. With the staff starting to set the table for breakfast we were tempted to have a bowl of cornflakes each by decided to quit and ask for the bill would be the best course of action. Avoid at all costs.

Been before and had a really nice meal but tonight was less than mediocre. Food was overcooked.. dry and the veg looked as if it had been hanging around for the past week.. the ‘crushed new potatoes’ were rubbery and certainly not crushed.. the veg had lost any semblance of colour and the chips that came with the dry overcooked burger were lukewarm warm. The burger sauce was mayo with tomato ketchup mixed in certainly not a ‘burger sauce’ . Come on Cove Inn the silly season hasn’t even started yet and you’re serving crap food!!

Went for a drink, gardens looked very inviting. After ordering a drink by a very unfriendly female, a young man said it's all ready, I handed him my cash and he just looked at me. My partner said I don't think he takes cash so he tapped his card. The male wasn't impressed and mumbled something to another young man about the cash offer. No manners from any of them. Maybe a notice would prevent your staff from having to explain the situation, also if I'd known before ordering, we would have gone elsewhere.

Visited as a group of 6 on first night visiting the area. When ordering advised a couple items not available - why not advise when arriving? Food ordered and on arrival Chargrilled Steak Frites was not cooked as requested (medium but very rare) and very fatty. No offer of any further drinks & when we highlighted issue with the meal just taken with no apology. Same meal rerun after further cooking but of course still fatty & not appealing. Raised issue again but staff clearly not interested - no apology etc. We stated that we were not willing to pay for that one meal - bill arrived and whilst item was remove a service charge automatically included. Asked for this to be removed and the staff were clearly seen laughing and commenting about our approach - very unprofessional - Manager “ not available” when requested - other food was OK but no check back & generally not impressed

Visited many times before but on Easter Sunday, dropped in for a drink. When we left the bar lady chased after us in the street and shouted that we hadn’t paid the bill. My mother in law had ordered the drinks and the bar and was so embarrassed so ran back to pay the bill without question. However, being convinced she had already paid the bill we went after her and checked. They had given her the wrong bill and were trying to get her to pay someone else bill. Thank god we questioned it as she was about to pay again. The lady apologised but this didn’t stop the embarrassment of chasing us down the street and accusing us! Shame on you!

Booked online for a table which was nice and easy which was good. Nice selection of food and drink which was good, though thought portion sizes were a bit small given the dishes and prices. The free dessert was nice idea and we took advantage of the deal. Wasn't rushed from arriving to leaving which was really nice. Good idea to book in advance though as got busy.

We visited here on the recommendation of friends who had been a few years ago. We were hugely disappointed with the food. 2 of us ordered the beer battered fish and chips with triple cooked chips, mushy peas and tartar sauce. It definitely wasn't worth the £17.25 we paid. The fish was small and the batter soggy, the mushy peas were cold and the tartare sauce tasted of aniseed (we suspected it contained tarragon) and was inedible. The chips were nice but not very warm. I'm not sure if the meal had been sitting on the pass for too long or if it hadn't been freshly cooked but it was really disappointing. The others in our party ordered the fish finger bap and fries and again it had the weird tartare sauce on. We heard the family on the next table comment on the aniseed flavour. Tellingly, the staff never came over to ask how the food was, and didn't even ask when we were paying the bill. There are alternative places to eat nearby and I'd suggest you try elsewhere.

A mixed review, venue is OK, staff friendly, tables and seating area outside could do with a good sweep thorough and clean. Toilets were pretty disgusting in the ladies. We arrived at around 6 on a Friday, it wasn't busy by any means, but perhaps there was a reason for this! We had two meals, one fish and chips, which my other half says was edible. I unfortunately went for one of the specials, langoustine tails with pasta. I anticipated given it is on the coast, the tails would be spot on and pasta in a lovely rich sauce. The langoustine tails were like rubber, the spaghetti had been either broken, or chopped into pieces around 4" long, and all was luke warm and floating in a rather worrying clear liquid which had no taste whatsoever. Sprinkled with cheese of an inane sort. This and our drinks cost over £40. No we didn't complain, and should have done at the time, but I just didn't want the hassle quite honestly. V disappointed as we don't get away often and the meal was supposed to be a relaxing start of our weekend away.

This is one of the worst meals I have been for. We ordered ‘sticky chicken wings’ to start, they were all soggy in some sort of broth and had no taste. Sticky chicken wings are meant to be sticky and crispy, not soggy and watery. We were sharing and were given no side plates. For main 3 of us had the ‘special’ of crayfish pasta in lobster sauce. It had no flavour at all and again, came in a watery broth instead of sauce. We all had to heavily season with salt and pepper, they were all cold, with some sort of fake cheese sprinkled on top. A 10 year old could have cooked a better pasta dish than this, there was certainly nothing special about it. Pasta sauce is meant to stick to the pasta, we could hardly eat it, it was falling all over the place. Complete waste of money and time, we had to go to the chip shop after as we were all hungry still. We had Sunday roast booked for the next day but cancelled it, it was £110 for 4 of us that we could have cooked better ourselves.

Booked a table for dinner after a walk from Durdle Door, we have attended this pub many times and always been happy. However today was not the case, the chilli portion was so small with hardly any meat in it, what meat was there was mainly gristle. The fish cake was over cooked and very blamed, you will need to order chips with this meal if you would like to fill you up! It cost nearly £19 for fish cake and some over cooked French fries. Overall service from staff was average and nothing like they normally are, which I am putting down to have been a very busy day at the pub? The toilet’s definitely need cleaning more regularly they were in a very poor state, with urine on the floor and rubbish in the toilets. Unfortunately after many years we won’t be returning, the prices have gone up and the portions have not or the quality of the food.

Ambiente tranquillo e personale molto gentile e disponibile.

Food itself was great. We both opted for fish and chips and it was real good. We ate here then did the walk over to Durdle Door. Would defo recomend!

We booked up Lulworth Cove Inn weeks before our stay cation to avoid disappointment and we weren't disappointed. We had a nicely situated table for lunch, lovely friendly staff and great food. Clean and covid friendly that we returned for well deserved GAndT's after our Durdle Door walk. Highly recommended.

Stopped off today. I’m surprised by the bad reviews - our service was great, we had very good reasonably priced food (I wen for the fish finger sandwich which was lovely and the same price as the takeaway in the car park). The decor inside was very nice. Good ambiance. Recommended, thanks.

This is an establishment which is struggling to operate with minimal staff providing poor customer service. The drinks service was slow and it was 1 1/2 hrs before we saw our food order arrive - literally just as we were about to walk out. Our hummus starter lacked enough flat bread to eat it with and we asked for more. The extra portion was moist and unsatisfying. The expensive rib eye steak was inedibly tough and the vegetable tagine was bland and uninspiring. We have been here several times before and didn’t expect the shocking level of service and quality. The Cove Inn has a ‘captive audience’ and seems to be relying on passing trade. I will not be returning.

My wife and I drove the 3 hours from Brighton to take my 99year old father for lunch in the beer garden. His first trip since lockdown. Despite booking a table we were told if we were eating we could not be served in the garden - but drinkers only were allowed! We were forced to eat indoors on a sunny day with tables that may have been the advertised 2m apart, but the diners at the tables were almost shoulder to shoulder near us. We were served by the same waitress that served the outdoor drinkers. Really dissatisfied and a spoiled outing. Won’t be returning.

We visited on a busy sunny Saturday and there was a steady queue at this pub/restaurant. However, it was very well run by the door manager who kept tables turning over. We only waited 5 mins to be seated and were given a sunny garden table with umbrella for 90 mins for lunch. Food and service all good and will visit again when in the area.

Chose a table outside in the evening sun. Waiting staff very friendly and efficient - particularly as the restaurant was busy. A good choice of dishes, wines and beers. Impressive vegetarian/vegan options - a lot more creative than the standard veggie lasagne! Leave room for desert.

After a lovely stroll around coast line had a table booked to celebrate our first break from NHS work, in a pretty long while. The covid set up was well managed & inspired confidence. Good choice of meals at reasonable prices. Unfortunately no Doombar to wash down frankly the best whitebait ever. Despite the unsettled weather our seat in the marquee was cosy & dry. Lovely to be among families doing family stuff & dog owners resting from walks. The staff made us welcome & looked after us with out intruding on our down time. We'll be back for sure it's so well suited to its location. This is an extremely popular place to visit pre booking is recommended for a meal & tipples. Taking your litter home and keeping this stunning spot special may we suggest should factor in preparing for a trip here. It looked immaculate yesterday.

Lovely place to stop whilst walking around the village. We only stopped for a drink but the food that was going to other guests looked and smelt amazing! We will be back again to sample some of the food

We visited today and had some great food - fish finger cobb rolls and sides of chips, double burger and some cold drinks. Service was good too ! Very well planned considering all of the restrictions that they have to follow. Will be back soon ! Thank you

Family visit on 31/10/20Food was lovely and all was very COVID safe.Full marks to the chef and staff. The only downside was we had booked with the mind of having a Sunday dinner that was advertised for both lunch and evening but when we arrived at 7pm they had run out. This is the only reason I haven’t given 5*.

We ate outside in the summer, our mistake squeezed between dogs and bothered by wasps. The food was OK though not the best Hall and Woodhouse pub. We would go again and try the Sunday Roast as that may be better, inside!Fine beer from Local Blandford brewery.

I’ll be brief. Customer service was great, aesthetic was great, tidiness was great, handling of covid was great. But the food? That vegetable baji burger was phenomenal and was genuinely one of the best burgers ever. I love it when places are experimental with food, and this one paid off in a huge way.

We visited here and had a great experience. Ham Hock Terrine starter for myself was really tasty and my partner had butternut squash fritters which were tasty. We both had steak (& tanglefoot) pies for our main course with mash and it was 10/10 tasty. We would return for sure.

Came here one in the past, and was due to go to another pub with my mum, but she accidentally went to this one, hence why we ended up coming back here. We decided to cancel the other reservation. Both of us came to celebrate my birthday and found a good spot to sit. The atmosphere was relaxing and the food was great. I had the fish and chips and peas which was amazing. Very tasty. Mum had a meat pie dish, which she enjoyed. The only issue was lack of options for someone who doesn’t normally eat meat, except fish (I’m a vegetarian-fish consumer, forgot the actual name for people like myself), however, its a pub after-all so expect much meat! Overall, atmosphere was good and I enjoyed the time with my mum and will come back in the future. Thanks

Under new management. Quick service. Food is ok. Wanted a snack lunch but nothing sandwich size apart from some light bites and starters. Would have helped before going had website had menu available but it wasn't. Mentioned this on paying and it was noted. Definitely an improvement.

Three of us for supper on a Tuesday evening. Service was sadly lacking on the night. Will recommend and return to next year when visiting the area again.
