Lulu's Tea Rooms in Isle of Wight

We had the ham and cheese ploughman’s and they were an absolute plate full! Lovely warm bread, nice thick ham and loads of cheese. Salad had a light dressing, not swimming in it, as most places do. Had carrot cake after which again was delicious and a nice sized slice. I’ll be here again tomorrow!

I genuinely can't understand the high ratings this cafe has achieved. The decor was tired and tatty, the food was substandard and the staff really couldn't be bothered. In spite of offering "afternoon tea" they were clearly desperate to close up for the day by 2.30 and were turning potential customers away.

Looked beautiful on the outside but unfortunately the seats were ripped and it wasn’t as cozy as it first looked. The staff weren’t friendly when we walked in which was a shame as a nice smile and a quick hello goes a long way and even when I went to order I felt I was an inconvenience. However the food was good but unfortunately for me the service let them down.

Lulu's is a lovely tea rooms with hard working staff who are very lovely and cater to all eating requirements. Dogs are welcomed and are given treats and the decor and layout are so relaxing. The food is delicious and abundant and very affordable. A lovely, lovely tea room.

Great fine. Visited twice during my stay. Good choice on the menu. Had the ham and cheese baguette on both occasions. Served with a small side salad and tortilla chips. Baguette was well filled, the salad could of been bigger instead of the added tortilla chips.

Fantastic wonderful tea rooms, super friendly great food and service. Food served hot, fresh and with a smile. Highly recommended

We visited on 14/04/22 Good service from the lady and very good sandwiches filled generously with side salad and crisps just what we needed on our day in Sandown high street.

Great little tearoom in sandown. Breakfast cooked to perfection and the girl who served us was kind and chatty will definitely come back when we find ourselves on the island again.

A while since I've had breakfast in Lulu's but very little has changed, the food was good, it's clean and tidy, reasonably comfortable, fair choices and good value. However, it was chilly in there at 10.00 am and hadn't really warmed up much by the time I left. Consequently only an average mark, and perhaps Lulu's might turn the heating on in time for the place to warm up in the future.

I can not fault this establishment, the most friendly staff and service we have ever experienced and the cream tea was incredible, will definitely be returning.

Wonderful little find on our last morning here. So quaint and beautifully themed. Milkshakes were excellent as was the cream tea. Wish we’d found it earlier.

Never ever seen anywhere that thinks it is acceptable to offer Mr Kipling bought in cakes on an afternoon tea. Unbelievable.

Yes a very nice place indeed not like some I could mention in Sandown. Very welcoming and helpful staff - the place is very clean if a bit tatty around the edges. Food was fresh well prepared and tasted excellent.

Took my mum for a wander into Sandown, decided on Lulu's for lunch Had some lovely food and coffee. Best mocha I've had in a long time!! And the ice cream sundaes are to die for!! Lovely staff and surroundings!! 100% recommend

The girl behind the counter I presume was the bosses daughter. She spent most of her time eating icecream behind the counter. And when her dad came in wirh the dogs she was more interested in them.Not once did she wash her hands after handling...

Lovely , classy & homely place. Highly recommended, lovely menu and extremely reasonable. It’s always nice not to go to the usual corporate chain type places that are making every High street in England look the same. Well done Lulus.

Great little meal here with the kids. I visited with my little 1 year old who wasnt happy being in his pram. The owner brought him a little bag of cookies to try to calm him down and some toast. Great service. Lovely jacket potatoes....

Lulu's has a lovely atmosphere with a nod to the past without being a cliche. We had excellent breakfasts (meat and vege). Served nicely and quick service. We will definitely go back.

This was our first visit since the start of Covid-19 and we were very apprehensive and unsure where to go for a coffee in Sandown.We looked at Lulu's and was very impressed with what we observed.Upon entering the front door we were greeted by a very polite young waitress and asked to sign in with contact details, sanitizer was available and we were shown to a prepared table. Our order was taken at the table by the owner at a safe distance.All staff were wearing face shields and each table is separated from the next by a high clear screen and the floor is all marked out with tape. What was very impressive was that as a table vacated, the staff immediately cleared the table, cleaned everything in that area and I mean everything, and even sprayed a sanitizer in the air. Their effort and cleanliness can not be faulted, so please be patient if you have to wait for a few minutes to be seated.Coffee finished, good as usual, so I went to pay and the only mistake I made was I stepped outside the marked box on the floor - sorry.Thanks for all your efforts in these dangerous times, we will be back soon.

I walked into the establishment with a friend to be greeted with the warmest welcome. The menu offered everything you could want. We only had sandwiches this time which were lovely but will definitely return for a main meal and one of there delicious looking cakes or really yummy looking icecream sundae. Thanks Ladies.

I love lulu’s. It’s a fabulous place to meet up with family and friends. The staff are great especially Sabrina who’s laugh is infectious and her friendliness is always a joy to be around. The food is lovely ranging from the breakfasts to lunches. I would recommend to anyone

My son & I entered this establishment with the warmest welcome. The menu was varied with something for all tastes. We had a lovely lunch with 10 out 10 for the food and a overall 10 out 10 for everything. Can't wait to go again.

Visiting from Australia, we found the tea room lovely. The staff were so friendly and willing to help us with directions and places to visit while on the island. The food was hot, tasty and reasonably priced. I would totally recommend going there for a pot of tea or coffee and a meal.

Went in yesterday for two bacon sandwiches to take away. Was asked to pay 7.90. I dont think so !! Chichester is expensive but this is taking the mickey. Went accross the road to Daisies and they are 2.50 each. I used to go to "Lulus" before it got taken over and it was very reasonable. I have no idea of other prices on the menu but if this is an indication i would suggest going elsewhere. I never put business's down as i know with food its a matter of taste but prices its a different story. The young girl behind the counter didnt understand the issue at all and the owner wasnt about.

Needed a late lunch so stopped here for a quick snack. Fancied a sausage sandwich and they served an all day breakfast.Food was lovely. Very clean...fast and friendly. We had a sausage sandwich...tea...coffee...bacon and sausage panini. Reasonably priced as well. A young boy who had finished school was helping and was adorable.Would recommend and will visit again next time in the isle of wight.

I met a friend in Sandown for a catch-up and we were looking for somewhere for drinks and came across Lulu’s.It’s quite nicely done out and seemed quite busy, I ordered a pot of tea, a coffee and a toasted tea cake.I had a bit of a wait to get served and the lady behind the counter seemed a little harassed by the workload and was not receiving much assistance from “them behind the scenes”.She was friendly enough though when our goodies arrived.My little tea pot took some coaxing to produce any flavour, the tea cake was nice enough though and it didn’t seem too expensive. I was too busy chatting to ask my friend how her coffee was, it looked okay.I wouldn’t come back for a cup of tea, quite a simple thing to fix though, maybe I’ll try again later in the year.

I visited for lunch with my family and ordered the cheese and onion panini. We had a long wait for our food, and when we finally received it, I was so disappointed with my panini. It was barely filled...not much cheese and hardly any onion. Real let down. Didn’t stay for dessert...not much choice compared to some other places, so we went across the road to another cafe for dessert.

Noticed Lulu’s on our first visit thru the town and it looked interesting and had lots of people. Rather than get the standard breakfast, sandwich or panini, we decided to try the high tea for two since it was our last day on the island. Cup was not fully clean with tea/coffee spots on it. Only one small pot of tea to share with no offer for more hot water. Tea for two should have been a larger pot or two individual pots instead of one single to share. However, the sandwiches, scones and cream filled sweet cakes were very delicious. Although they were very busy, a smile would go along way in taking the order. It was still very good and we would recommend a visit to Lulu’s if you’re in Sandown.

Have visited here quite a lot as a local, the lunches and breakfasts are lovely as are the different cakes and scones. My little boy is made to feel extra welcome with sweets that appear out of the cupboards Everyone is given a warm welcome, even dogs. Would definitely recommend if you are looking for somewhere relaxing with good food!

Stopped off here for breakfast on way home good food proper tea in a pot Great value for money,and service with a smile. Recommend it.

It must be the worst coffee I have ever had. Visited with my son and daughter and none of us could drink it, more like dishwater. The scones were heavy and dry and service offhand. All in all a very poor experience and will not be returning.

Visited with my husband small children and dog last week after a beautiful walk along the seafront and The Pier after having a lovely meal on the end of the pier looking out over the beautiful bay (saving the donuts for later on) the lovely staff advised us a good spot for tea and cake (cream tea) as we were planning on meeting my mother for tea, we were utterly delighted! The staff were lovely, a young lady with dark hair called Sabrina served us, she was attentive and very efficient even made a fuss of the dog giving her treats which she seemed very happy about!! Cake was lovely tea hot and freshly made to order, music took you back in time and the atomophere was calm and inviting I would highly recommend to everyone and anyone such a welcoming establishment with GREAT staff! We will be back I’m sure

It says something when the locals use a cafe and as a new local I’ve been in a few times now. People watching and WiFi with decent coffee, freshly cooked lunches and GF options available at sensible prices. I’ll keep coming back.

What a lovely place to go to meet up with friends, when out with my Husband and when visitors are over, we love it. I am in a wheelchair and because there is a big step outside I would normally have a problem but the staff always come to help us, we don't have to ask.

What a gem of a place. Great location in Sandown. Beautiful decor. So many cakes to pick. Just a really nice place to go.

We were looking for a cafe in Sandown that offered a range of food and beverages to suit us all (family of 5). We found that here at Lulu's. The food was fantastic and the staff were so easy to talk to and nothing seemed to be too much hassle.

Visited this place for breakfast the other day and to say I was disappointed is an understatement.

The Saturday I arrived was late afternoon was unsure if anything was available in Shanklin so headed by bus to Sandown where everywhere was closed . Just caught Lulu's five minutes before four when they closed.They kindly prepared me a huge Ploughman's Lunch and a Moca Coffee and told me not to worry about closing time . Not expensive and nice surroundings. Also told me best pub to watch The Cup Final

I was not very complimentary in my first review as I was very disappointed with this cafe after the previous owners had left. However I tried again and while the coffee still not improved a great lot I also ordered a cheese salad sandwich which was first class. The service was good and the surroundings comfortable. Will definitely go again but please please serve better coffee.

Popped in for coffee after wandering around Sandown while on holiday. Not impressed with Sandown but this tea room was lovely. Pretty interior, very clean, friendly service. The cakes and ice cream sundaes looked delicious.

On holiday in Sandown this tea room is very convenient to both the shops and beach. Staff very friendly and helpful. Food is freshly prepared so a little wait but nothing out of the ordinary.

We were in the town for a few hours and all wanted a bite to eat.. Came across Lulu's and we were so pleased we did. My partner and I both had baked potatoes.. Huge tasty and just gorgeous.. My friend and her family had paninis and also said they were gorgeous plenty of filling and nice fresh bread. Staff are really friendly the lady at the counter especially and it was also a lovely clean place including the loo. Would definitely visit again.

Lovely atmosphere with really helpful pleasant staff. We entered not realising the tea rooms were almost closing, however we were given a lovely welcome and nothing was too much trouble. The food we ordered was freshly cooked and absolutely spot on. I was very impressed. The cakes looked lovely and fresh. We would highly recommend this tea room and we will will definately be back. We were there on a very windy day and the apparent loose door catch is now repaired so lovely and warm inside.

Nice Tea Room, do not recommend visiting this Tea Room on a windy day! The Door keeps blowing open and it is freezing. Some heaters inside would also be a good idea. Otherwise good food.

After a long day, we called in for a snack on the way back to our hotel. We ordered the Coronation Chicken baguette, which came with crisps and side salad, and just as well we shared it as no way could one person have finished it. The pot of tea was enough for us to have two cups each. The lady staff member was very polite and efficient,nothing was too much trouble.

5 of us had breakfast here recently. Very friendly and helpful service. Good quality breakfast at reasonable price served with a smile !

The previous Café business which was here before was quite good, and since the change to be Lulu’s, the good standards have been maintained.

We sampled all 3 during our stay in Sandown and found each very good. The staff were helpful and frienly and the premises clean and welcoming.

My first visit to lulu's and what a treat, had a lovely lunch and the two ladies that served us was a breath of fresh air, will definitely be coming back and next time will leave room for some of their coffee and walnut cake.

We have been here many times and where keen to try it under the new owners. The cafe has had a make over and is clean bright and comfortable, they also seem to have cured the problem the previous owners had with condensation, very nice!

My family and i visit lu lu's tea rooms most weeks. It's a very welcoming cosy tea room and the food always looks and tastes delicious! Staff are very friendly and welcoming and is a very pleasant experience would totally recommend.

Very welcoming with an excellent selection of food both hot and cold including cream teas and a great choice of freshly made cakes which change throughout the week. A very comfortable place for solo travellers too; and pooch friendly..

We are regulars for morning coffee at Lulus. It is beautifully decorated, has very friendly staff and the coffee is excellent. It is situated on a busy corner so we can enjoy people watching too. I highly recommend a visit to this delightful venue.

We visited Lulu’s whilst on holiday. The ladies were great and the food, well what can I say. I think I died and went to heaven, especially the coffee and walnut cake. Couldn’t have asked for more. Friendly staff, great atmosphere and great food. Definitely going back. Thank you Lulu’s

Drinks were good but my two daughters had chocolate cake and it was dry due to being kept in the fridge. I had a teacake which was very good. A little expensive.

We visited the Upstairs /Downstairs Model shop near by, it's very hilly from sea front up to the High street, so we decided to try this place for refreshments - it was lovely, a family run (I think) business, polite, efficient staff, a nice menu, we found very reasonable prices, and a comfy sit down, what more could you ask for? We'll certainly be returning when next in Sandown.

Very clean, great service with friendly staff, we had all day breakfasts which were great. Had my eye on the cakes which looked amazing, but I resisted as I’m trying to be good!
