The introduced card payment system suggesting tipping is a real put-off. Quite expensive, our chosen food wasn't very good. Good atmosphere though!

Great food, great location and dog friendly

Outdoor area resembled a post apocalyptic wasteland. Chairs missing, tables covered in uncleared plates. Lager wasn't cold, came in a pretty minging plastic cup. Menus were greasy and had some bonus hair attached. Not what it was.

Our last evening in Hayle and came across “Lula” by accident, perfect location for casual dining and by far the tastiest food we’ve eaten whilst staying here, a really good wine list too - thanks to all the staff

Lovely little find. Dog friendly inside and out. The place is clean and tidy. Staff were friendly however there were very few of them. The sign says get a menu from a member of staff but I could only see staff at the bar. Could do with a menu holder by entrances. I have two dogs with me we were originally going to sit outside but there were no tables with umbrellas available so we opted for sitting inside. The food was nice and freshly made. We both had Pirates platters. The fish was lovely and the prawns were amazing. Could have done with less chips and a little more fish for the price of £20 per person. I would go back again it is a lovely place, good views and good food.

The place would be excellent if they improved the food offer and served some good quality fish instead of the generic, poorly presented food they currently serve. Brilliant location let down by the lack of a decent chef.

Great food with a wonderful view of the estuary. Really like the California surfing beach style decor of the place. Could do with one more toilet though as queues can get quite long for the existing cubicles.

Food was ok. Service was shocking there are too many things to go in to without leaving a dissertation on here. Table was dirty, and all round disappointing.

Lovely brunch on Mother's Day and recent evening meal. Great food and a warm welcome from the whole team. The view is not bad either!!!

When we arrived after walking 7 miles on the coastal path and were welcomed by the staff to the little table next to the fireplace/stove. Rum Grog and a bottle of prosecco helped us ease into the atmosphere. The style is casual, with a clear focus on the food quality. We ordered salt and pepper Squid, pop corn Shrimp and dirty Fries with a pickled slaw. These arrived very promptly and were very good. The squid was the best we have had in the UK. Worth the walk to the restaurant and a must if you are contemplating the small detour.

Stating the obvious...it's ultra cool and very much part of the whole 'craft' beer and food movement with a striped back interior, laid back atmosphere and food in cardboard boxes with wooden cutlery. However, it's in no way pretentious or aimed at any particular group of people, in fact when we visited it was busy with people from all walks of life and all ages. The food was really good, I had the seafood gumbo which was excellent and full of fresh fish, I also had a beer from St Ives Brewery, it was nice to see them supporting an independent Cornish brewer. They seem to offer both food and live music nights so it's worth checking to see if anything is on.

Took the family on the first day of holiday. Ribs were great but small . But all the seafood was terrible . King prawns madly overcooked and stringy squid was rubbery . No whole fish , only kids fish bites or random white meat pieces . Chips below average . Waitresses were loverly and apologetic and obviously used to saying sorry. Great setting . Just go for Ribs beer and River . Shame!!

Went for the first time today with my mum and daughter. Had squid, prawns and chips. Very tasty. Nice lady served us and helpful with dietary requirements (daughters dairy free). We will return. Thanks to all staff

My sister and I went there tonight bitterly disappointed We are local and try to support local buisness We treated ourselves Ho Ho as the dine in goverme t scheme after work. But let's all remind ourselves the govrrmentv/ taxpayer like us pay the restaurant the deal back so they are getting full price Anyhow we arrived I ordered wine Asked for menu No paper menus available so we were told to go and take photos of menu outside which I did. Then on still waiting for wine I went to counter again to be then informed you need to pay first Which would of been much more helpful if the staff had informed me off that while telling me yes the wine would be coming So I paid for the wine Which by then took forty minutes yo come once paid for Was told couldn't order and pay for the food at same time As kitchen wasn't ready to take orders so as he said ten minutes I went back to counter to order a d pay for food We were told if we wanted sweets we needed to order with the main and all come out at same time as I was going to order ice cream and sorbet said well no understandable Anyhow eventually the food in boxes and wooden cutlery arrived much to our amusement I'll try and add a photo of the food To be fair our blackened salmon was good but 16 pound each thank god for that the box of salad and the shack slaw was something else and greatly overpriced But that wasn't the main problem we took the overpriced cheap wine at 19cpound a bottle and the overpriced food in our stride Luckily we have humour The problem that amazed us both was the social distancing or great lack of it was unbelievable the queue inside from back door were right by us literally and the joy of a table of eighteen people adjoining us sitting almost on our laps let alone two inches away from us then the queue along side as well we'll hey let's not worry about covid or the law every other eating establishment have to by law follow. Let Alone the surly waitress who served the food such custome serrvice NOT. LLET ALONE THE CUSTOMERS NEXT TO US WHO HAD ORDERED A COCKTAIL JUG TO SHARE THAT ARRIVED WITH A CRACK IN JUG AND SPILLING ALL OVER THEIR TABLE WHEN he politely took it back one of the staff came over and disputed they needed a full replacement jug so returned with a three quarter full one as the gentlemen had poured a small glass from cracked jug before realising it was leaking Again such customer service was outrangous Ne er go back there unless I was suffering depression and needed a laugh! I joke NOR will we recommend lulu s to any other local And their are six people we know That we're looking forward to trying this new place. Will be informed unless you want to be badly served Catch covid OR have money to waste dont bother
