Food was greecy and food had no taste

Ordered food at 8 o'clock, 2 hours later it arrives, chicken fried rice was cold and the delivery driver had a dog with him at the door, it was barking like mad, it tried running in my house and I had to shut the door fast, it was rather going to bite me or it was starving and wanted my food, shocking!

Food always lovley and hot , fast delivery, highly recommend

Good chinese takeaway with clean interior for a quick eat in and reasonably priced food. Recommended.

Lucky Star is & has been as far as I can remember a decent Chinese, however it depends on the chef’s. Sometimes it great food & other times it’s not so good. When it goes bad I generally switch restaurants to other local ones. But generally LS is my local go to Chinese.

Terrible think there using super noodles in the chow mein and no bamboo shoots , won't be going back it's a shame cos it use to be ok !

Takeaway...terrible ordered chicken got tough pork.ribs tough & black should have known whole order was brought within 30 minutes. Obs pre overcooked. Tasteless and awful.

Duck not crispy and cold, pancake s kept breaking up not good!! Main course cold and just tasted of pepper, waste of money, gave them the benefit of doubt last time, let us down this time, never again waste of money xx

Shocking delivery waited 2.5 hours for our food after constantly being told it was on the way, food was stone cold I think my drink was warmer, women behind the desk was completely rude towards me on the phone, after being told I would get a free meal next time, somehow they managed to forget that part and tried charging me, in my experience I would never order food from here again and will be telling everyone the same

Food was disgusting! Haven’t ordered in years because I found a mosquito in my food last time. Finally tried again tonight and got two massive black hairs instead. Don’t waste your money.

after finding metel in our food, we rang the restaurant and got the call ended on rudely after asking for a refund. it’s our first takeaway after having a baby and knowing we could have possibly eaten some metal is scary!

Food is nice but we waited 2 hours for a delivery. Rang twice to find out where it was. Was told that it was on it's way but obviously it wasnt! This third time we rang it arrived within 5 mins of that call.. they obviously had forgotten us and sent someone out with it. Shame as the food is nice. Update to last week, we were in Hull visiting family and husband asked If I fancied a Chinese, he's from hull and he always said this was the best Chinese In the area. Ordered vegetable chow mein, husband ordered a meat dish. It took us an hour to get home, when I started to eat it the noodles were mushy and soggy, after a few mouthfuls I couldn't eat anymore, it was inedible, husband said his wasn't very nice either. I will not be buying from here again.

Waiting over 2 hours for a takeaway said they are stuck in traffic rubbish service cancelled the order will not be using them again

Couldn’t find our house chips were very cold abd tge duck was cold very disappointing won’t be ordering from them again was awful

Been having the aways for years always ben spot on except for last night ordered special chow mein and chicken chow mein asked for extra sauce chicken very chewey and hardly any sauce 1st time we have been disappointed

Nice Chinese takeaway. Reasonable prices the menu is about the same as other Chinese takeaways on Holderness Road. The big difference is that you can eat inside, there are tables and chairs in the front overlooking the street.

Reasonable Chinese, decent portions and price. Not the worst, but not the best, but good for cost. Enjoyable food. Recommended for take-away. Parking is limited to side street, but ok for take-away.

First time going since the change of owners. Food was absolutely gorgeous we ordered a few different meals between us and everyone of them was great.

I made a £30 delivery order last night from Lucky Star Holderness Road, at 9.50 pm called again at 11.15 pm and was told it’s out with the delivery driver… I called again at 11.35 pm and was told sorry it will be with you in five minutes, the delivery never came at all, I wasn’t given an explanation why the girl taking the orders had to lie to me over the phone???? Very poor service from what I thought was a reputable takeaway, BE AWARE I’ve heard they have done this to many other customers !! Safe to say I will be using other Chinese takeaways in future… sort yourselves out😡

I made my order at 6 o'clock my food didn't actually get delivered till 8.10pm the chips was soggy and luke warm just as the rest of the food that i ordered was, it was also very taste less, I've ordered alot from lucky star over the years and I use to speak highly of the food and the taste however its absolutely gone down hill in every way. I will not be ordering from here again and I do not recommend 😒

Ordered shredded chicken in chill hot source and was supposed to get rice or chips and I didn't any with it when I rang they was very snotty about it

Family has been ordering from here since before I was born. Never disappointed and always full, portions are absolutely massive and you’re never left feeling robbed. It’s a tiny bit more expensive than your usual takeout but you get practically double portions. I can never finish my chow mein, because I’m stuffed! Very very occasionally they forget to take the veg out of a meal we have ordered and they are always super apologetic. Amazing.

Most terrible meal ever i literally order deep fried squid and I got 4 piece small ones !!!! It is the worst meal ever and when I called to explain my disappointment there literally did not care absolutely no way I’m I ever going there

Expensive to other takeaways. You paid for the prawn crakers . Other takeaways you get them free depending on how much you spend. Tasty food all were hot & good size portions. Could do with a cleaner looking waiting area. Was very busy so quite popular

Ordered duck fried rice, and some other stuff this was in my duck fried rice nearly broke my tooth, very painful 😫 ill never order from here again that's for sure. Food was also very cold, sent wrong sauce, and chips weren't cooked 😕

Have called 3 times, 2 times they said drivers been and gone although I never heard a knock at my door and neither did my dog, 3rd time no answer. If you can't find the address say so, I clearly wanted my food and wasn't ignoring you otherwise I wouldn't ring up multiple times

Would avoid at all costs! Been going down hill for a while now - is this rock bottom? Meber see the old owners there anymore,must have changed hands, and I think I can guess the new owner A lady, perhaps mid 30s, shoulder length hair in a bobble, always with a red lucky star jacket or teddy apron on... She speaks terribly to her staff, snotty on the phone, and doesn't have a clue herself! Food piled up on the worktops waiting to ve packed, drivers looking stressed and frustrated. Instore service is almost as bad as the food... can you believe it... and they're dishing up that trash at a weighty cost. Never again. Sharwoods and uncle Ben's for the future. Impeccable service, better quality food, and much cheaper

Absolutely terrible new ownership and they have no clue how to run this place they know how to run it into the ground . The new woman boss looks down on the English staff like something she stood in of the floor. Only wants to hire chinese and woman only staff. Who would want to buy food from a place run like this .

They change the ownership now. New owner she very nice and smiling all the time. The food is good portion and gorgeous 😀

Always come to this place when I'm in the area the food is excellent and the portion sizes are great I'd definitely recommend if you are passing by to pop in.

Good food, not the richest tasting, but not bland. Decent sized portions, and delivery was quite fast. Would I use them again? Yes.

Zero stars, food did not turn up after two hours wait, was told when I rang an ambulance was blocking the street and I could go collect it tomorrow, a phone call when this was realised would have been nice, terrible customer service

Placed an order at 16.45 for delivery at 18.30. It is now 19.30 and the driver has rang to say it is cold and still wouldn't get to me for a while so I don't want it. Driver said the owners can't cope, don't have enough staff or drivers and aren't honest with customers. First and last time ordering from here and still hungry!

Only thing wrong was didn’t ready my order so my curry had some vegetables in which I don’t and can’t eat

Food took nearly 2 hours from initial order. After ringing twice it turned up freezing cold. We will never use this restaurant again.

Food was ridiculously late and luke warm at best. You should have to put a takeaway in the microwave. Nothing special, I feel ive wasted £40 of my money. Will not be using again

Chicken omelette arrived with no chicken in and was so salty it was inedible

Went in to get salt and pepper chicken and chips and the woman behind the counter said they don’t sell it together, and we tried showing her that it was literally available for collection if we ordered it on the app, so because either didn’t realise they sold it or for some other reason that I can’t even think of. We had to order on the app and pay extra money for the service charge and then wait absolutely ages to go pick it up. I don’t have a clue what happened because it makes no sense to me and it’s so unprofessional so won’t be ordering again

Been using these for years always been good, tonight however was awful and currently about to go in the bin, very salty, chicken hard and chewy, really greasy and the chips that are usually the best bit were pale soggy greasy.. very disappointing must have a new chef ☹️

I always enjoy food from this takeaway as it is lovely but I was a little disappointed this time as it was cold. It’s the first time this has happened. I will use it again as I don’t think it will be like that again. I don’t know what happened

I sentiment everybody else's judgement about the food being cold and the chips being severely undercooked. God knows how Lucky Star stays in business.

Extra mushroom is really 1 mushroom cut into 4. Bargain at a extra 70p!

Food wasn't packaged properly! Ordered a Chinese satay, and all the curry was in the carrier bag as the lid wasn't on. Ordered a special fried rice and instead got a chicken fried rice!

Was going out for boys birthday but everywhere is closing early, we came home and ordered from you for 8 of us, portion sizes are big food left for lunch today.

Arrived on time , piping hot , generous portions, only a little disappointed with the Wontons , they needed a bit more filling. Would order again.

No flavour to the chow mein it's all stuck together hardly any sauce tasted vile. The curry and chips was mush.

Used to be my favourite place for chow mein. Plenty of beansprouts and water chestnuts and plenty of sauce. Tonight I got dry congealed noodles that lifted out in clumps none of the above ingredients. Just not good anymore. Néw cook? New owners? Don't know. Won't be using again. Sorry
