Lucky Dragon in York

It was the first time we have been here, and it was super! It came, lovely and hot and the portions were huge!

Kept being delayed. Waited two hours and when I t came no apology and half the food was cold

All freezing cold order it many time this is rubbish not really edible

Poor quality noodle dish, lacking any real flavour or love. Chips very average to pay over £5 for. Won’t use again

Ordered from here before and had great delivery. Tonight ordered and was 10mins after the approx delivery time slot overall and was barely warm.

Usually have a great takeaway from here, salt and pepper combo box for 2 is what the wife and I go to. However the quality has drastically dropped. It tasted like they dropped a bag of salt into the box and we physically could not eat it. This meal has left us both with salt burns in our mouth. Horrible meal.

Food arrived cold and was 30 minutes late. First and last time ordering from here I'm afraid. Food was actually quite unappetising and prawn crackers definitely not fresh...

Fast delivery but I really feel compelled to say this has to be the blandest nastiest tasting Chinese I have experienced in quite some time salt and pepper chicken like cardboard chips nasty hot and sour soup was grim mushrooms tasted like they had been boiled in dish water never again would I order from this place

Id rather you rejected the order than turn up late. That way I get to order from another place.

I am so angry with the service I have received this evening!! I gave VERY CLEAR instructions on how to get to my home. Even though you’ve delivered here MANY MANY times!! Your drive is a rude C!! Whoever answered the phone is a rude C!! Didn’t speak The driver didn’t follow instructions expected me to come out in to the main road. Went to the back of my home which is all locked up. Eventually came to where he was supposed to and THREW my food on the floor. I will NEVER EVER order from you again.

Absolutely horrendous quality of food. Very disappointed with the whole order. Wet, slimy chicken that tasted disgusting. Dry chips and a pancake roll dripping in oil. Will not order from here ever again

Lovely meal, golden chips cooked just right. Tasty beef chow mien with crispy noodles. Peking ribs, best I have tasted for a while, the sauce was delicious and the garnish was a nice touch. Chicken and prawns in batter, fried to perfection. I will definitely order again.

Disgusting customer service they missed out a meal when we collected when we got home and realised and rang them up said that it’s not their fault and ours because “ we never ordered it “ when we definitely did , then said we would have to pay twice and then started to be rude , don’t order from here CRISPY DUCK is way cheaper and much better !

It tastes great, has a lot of food, and is hygienic. I will recommend friends to order takeout from this restaurant.

Delivered 2 fried rice instead of one of them being chips. Sighed repeatedly when I rang and he demanded I pay to deliver the missing chips. The rice literally had a wig in it!..actually 6 long hairs ...could not eat it for risk of needing a haircut within in 6 weeks time!

I ordered crispy beef in sweet chilli sauce and got dry crispy chilli chicken. I also ordered a Coca Cola lemon, and got an original coke instead. When I’ve tried to complain on just eat before it’s been so difficult I haven’t even bothered..

VERY good food, delivery arrived just under 5 min prior to early side of estimate and the delivery person followed my instructions very well.

Phoned in order, was told be 5mins to go collect, arrived to collect and was already waiting for me in a thermal bag..was practically cold and obviously been microwaved and not very well Will never go again..AVOID AVOID AVOID

The salt and pepper combo box was far too salty which was a shame as your food is normally very tasty.

Everything was battered. The sweet and sour source was jelly like instead of a sauce

Finally, a good Chinese in York!

The prawn crackers and chips were stale and the chips were also cold. I questioned if the beef was even beef because of the disgusting taste (could of been out of date) and the chicken was fatty and powdery. I would never order from here again, wouldn't recommend

The food was cold and awful. My plate was full of oil, and the food was so greasy it was inedible. I won’t be ordering again.

Great food !! Didn't get to try the egg fried rice as my food picky child stole it all.

The guy who delivered was busy shooting On the phone when delivering as was quite unnerving.

Food quality is so-so. The prices have gone up and the quantity and quality has gone down a lot! Not worth the money. AWFUL!

best chinese i’ve had in york. cheaper than other places and food is delicious. arrived earlier than expected. big portions. nice delivery driver. i had sweet and sour chicken balls, chips, and duck pancakes. really good. only complaint is that the sweet and sour sauce was a weird jelly consistency and tasted odd.

Still not got the food!!! Not answering phone. Saying delivered and it’s not. Not good guys.

Placed my first order last night! Delivery stated 60 minutes, was here in 35! Food was absolutely beautiful! Had as a Friday treat and still had enough for my tea tonight!! As I said, first order placed, will definitely not be my last! Best Chinese takeaway I e tried in York so far! Keep it up

If I could mark it out of 10 with 10 being the best? I would 100% give it a 0. It tasted appallingly bad. I'd even go as far as saying it was absolutely disgusting. I am so disappointed as I was so looking forward to it. I ended up throwing half of it in the bin and giving the dogs the rice. They enjoyed it and delivery was impressively quick so those were positive aspects.

Delivery was super fast and the driver was nice. The food was hot and delicious. I even had leftovers for tomorrow. Will definitely use again.

Super fast delivery piping hot food the dumplings are amazing

I ordered my meal at 5:54pm, the estimated delivery time was 6:50-7:10pm and I didn't receive my meal until 7:52pm, two hours later! I tried calling the restaurant multiple times to follow up on what was happening and every single time I called I got "line busy". Disappointing service and unfortunately the meal wasn't even good enough to make up for it.

Great quality loads of food great taste

I was 30 minutes late collecting my order, however this should not affect the quality as it did. Everything was over cooked and flavourless. There was no meat on the ribs and it was tough & not worth eating. The chicken satay was so dry it was awful, literally no sauce at all. Wont be ordering here again.

Pekin dumplings are not cooked properly

Arrived late, rang restaurant 6 times to try and see where order was no answer. Food arrived, wrong dish was sent, cold, poor quality. Gutted as wasn’t cheap. Won’t be ordering again anytime soon.

Ordered crispy shredded salt and pepper chicken but it wasn't crispy shredded just normal and the salt and pepper chips had no salt flavor come on send what we order

Took 2 hours from ordering to arrival. Food like warm but a quick blast and ok. However missed off cans of pop. Tried ringing but phone just rings out. Will not be in a hurry to order again

The duck kung po is usually a decent dish, however in my most recent order it was completely bland and devoid of all flavour. I complained but didn’t get much of a response.

We have been using The Lucky Dragon for years and have never had a problem up until today. However, there was a mix up with the order. We rang up and notified them of this and, to be fair, the issue was resolved and they delivered another meal. Both times the delivery drivers were brilliant and the weather was really cold! Hopefully this was just a one off mistake and we can go back to enjoying our food from here in the future.

Tasty food throughout and not too cold from its journey here in sub-zero temperatures.

Wasn’t the best Chinese from here in a long time, chnaged the sweet and sour sauce it tasted for like bbq sauce than anything else

Just ordered a Thai Green Curry. It is simply the worst TGC I have ever had. It isn’t even green and has the texture and taste of wall paper paste. They shouldn’t be able to sell this can call it Thai Green Curry. Avoid!

Used to really like this takeaway, but tonight's dinner was not up to the standard we remember. The rice was chalky, the chips were dry and chewy and the chop suey was lacking in taste. Such a disappointment.

I don't like to give negative reviews but all good from our orders and our friends (we ordered the same evening) were really bland, lacking in colour/flavour and the crispy chilli beef was particularly bland/soft (as though prepared significantly in advance). I'm afraid I won't be ordering again... definitely not for me

Order was late despite 2 phone calls. 1st call told wasn’t cooked 2nd call was told it was on way still took 15 mins in total was 1hr 10 over its estimated time

Iv used lucky dragon for a while now ….but my recent order had a crabs claw in the chips and was really late and cold and when we rang up they didn’t seem to care .AVOID

Had ring as food was late and found the order hadn’t even been made yet. Very disappointed with the service we got. Not worth ordering

Tried to give no stars but it wouldn’t accept it so reluctantly gave 1 but deserves nine. absolutely shocking service, still waiting & now been told it will be delivered 2 hours after ordering & this is on a Monday night the quietest night of the week. Will be deleting the just eat app & never using again.
