My food has not been delivered, yet you say it has!

Food never arrived from takeout. Boo.

Where do I start? ordered beef in black bean sauce....what I got was a box of really badly chopped onion in watery gravy with a few scraps of fatty beef and some frankly enormous chunks of green pepper seeds and all. Vile. ribs? not one scrap of meat on the beggars, they looked like they'd already been eaten then cremated and soaked in oil. Vile. chicken chow mein? rubbery chicken in bog water. Vile. did we eat it? yeah because we were absolutely starving. did we cry whilst eating it? Close.

Turned up early mostly bland food a bit disappointed as had previously had great meals

The prawn crackers were stale, the noodles were bone dry and tasted really rubbery. The soup lacked flavour too. Disappointed as have had good one from there before.

Absolutely awful. We ordered a selection of starters to our hotel as we weren’t very hungry but fancy pecking. Salt and pepper ribs - tough as old boots, struggled to get any meat off the bone, I’d normally expect onion, coriander, chilli as garnish but no, just onion. Wantons went straight in the bin, burnt, dry, flavourless. Noodles were like rubber bands, not fresh, reheated, horrible. Salt and pepper chicken was rubbery and flavourless. Avoid at all cost, that was a waste of £26. Vile place, worst Chinese I’ve had in 47 years on this planet.

Food was awful. Crispy wantons were flat and no prawn filling. Noodles were rubbery with a strange flavour.

The salt and pepper chips were soggy and barely had any flavouring unfortunately, but the rice and curry sauce were ok

Despite the negative reviews I normally find it’s pretty good. However I ordered the ribs tonight and they were terrible. Also the lid wasn’t on and the bag had clearly fallen over at some point so the sauce was everywhere. Nightmare to sort out.

I ordered 2 bags of prawn crackers and only recieved 1 and my order was 11 minutes past when it said the latest delivery would be. The driver practically threw the bag at me then ran away back to his car. Not happy with my lack of prawn crackers or delivery time

I wish I had checked the reviews on here as the JustEat reviews were a lot higher so I thought it would be ok! Everything that everyone else has said about hard, cold, burnt and greasy food, especially the prawn toast is true! Absolutely disgusting and it was late! AVOID

Beef was not good-the meat was old so we could not eat any of it. Smelled funny. All other dishes ok.

It came late and was cold , not happy with the order.

We ordered food for delivery and was told that it would be with us at 5.40. 6.30 and still sat waiting, so finally received it at 6.45 chips were warm ups, you couldn't even bite into them, there was nxt to no chicken in the chicken fried rice sweet and sour was ok. The only nice thing was the delivery driver!

First time ordered from Clifton Chinese. And I ordered special curry with soft noodles and chips with gravy. The special curry meat was burnt aswell as the veg. The noodles were different sizes as though they just mixed up a batch to make the portion up. I’m a chef and can say the chips are 100% warmed up and rock hard. Absolutely disgusting. I will be reporting to just eat for refund. We will stick to Acomb chineses in the future

Part of the order was missing so I called them. No apology and was left waiting on hold for several minutes before being told they would not bring the missing part and to “try” and get a refund off just eat. Singapore vermicelli was weirdly sweet and the chow mein was sloppy with rubbery meat.

Awful never go here chicken is inedible and for the money I paid is ridiculous the whole lot went straight into the bin.

Late- cold warmed up food - wont order again

Ordered for a certain time but was 40 minutes late I do not want credit to my account as this is the second time this has happened consecutively

Came piping hot and early. Great portion sizes, with meat especially.

Food good but there’s little point in leaving a delivery time if they’re going to deliver 25 minutes early. This time we were in, next time we may not! Stick to delivery times or lose orders!

My favorite Chinese takeaway in York! Absolutely fantastic Singapore chow mein, really tasty and well seasoned. The crispy chilli beef is up there with some of the best I've had

Arrived 45 minutes late and cold

Over 1 hour late. Called over 10 times and no answer. Food turns up and half of it is clap cold! How can half of it be cold, chips were that cold they had re frozen and gone stale

Over 2 hours for a meal is an absolute joke. Called up to check on the order and the staff informs me the chief still hadn't even begun cooking after 1.5hrs of placing the order. Even though it had been marked on the app as order delivered. Requested refund/discount. Received nothing back. Avoid.

Bbq ribs ended up beening honey ribs Without the bbq sauce I cant eat the fried rice so sat here with late food I cant eat hungry I want a refund

Almost 2hrs for a one person order. Appreciate busy but stop taking orders if can't cope. Usually really quick and food quality is good also

Already over an hour late, called the restaurant who said it was out for delivery.Imagine it will be nice and cold if it ever gets here.

The app said delivered at 17.55 but it didn't arrive until 18.30 nearly 40 mins after it said delivered

Absolutely amazing food. The only Chinese takeaway in York that gets it right. The duck was tender with a crispy skin and there was plenty of it, char Sui was the same and the broth it was in was full of flavour. The chilli beef was nice and spicy and the sauce was thick and sticky. Spring rolls were huge and full of filling. The only possible complaint was that the ribs were maybe a little bland but even then still great. The food even arrived early. Easy 10/10, my new go to place.

Delivered the wrong order. Called them and it took ages to try and correct the situation. Told me it would be here within 10 mins then called me to ask if I still wanted the food and then 20mins after it turned up. Appreciate you eventually sending it but it was still handled very badly.

Very large order for some hungry soldiers on exercise, delivered on time and to an awkward location. Food was excellent.

Food was inedible.. was cooked too much . Salt and pepper chicken was cooked and that much it burnt it was like eating overcooked batter . Chips was definitely warmed up chips hard with no chrisp was hard roughly but the rest was hard . Spare bone Oups i mean ribs was just bone . I’d get more meat of a anorexic cat . This use to be a nice Chinese back in the day when good old cindy was in charge. I can safely say I feel ok today but I suppose if something is cooked that much it’ll kill the salmonella

Ordered the special fried rice for myself as a birthday treat and it gave me food poisoning. Not the best birthday lol. Shame, it was my first time ordering and I definitely won't be doing it again

Great tasty food, fast delivery.

I don’t understand why people are complaining so much. My wife and I always order Sweet and sour Pork fried rice and spring rolls. Costs £10.50 and is enough for us to share. It’s cheap and cheerful I’ve never had it delivered as I don’t mind going and picking it up. From order to me eating at home is less than 20 mins. Delivered food is never hot, learn people… Go get it.

Was served lamb instead of beef in crispy chilli beef dish, when I don’t eat lamb and they don’t even have it on the menu.

Ordered at about 6.15 was told it would be about 710 - 7.30 pm it arrived at around 8.15 on a Wednesday ( which we expect on a weekend not a week day) .

Asked for no vegetables when order recieved it was more vegetables than meal. When contacted asked to buy again. Food was also cold when received. That’s been the last twice food cold. I get we have an off day but again??? Never again

About and hour and 20 mins for delivery, and food was a bit rubbish. Not much flavour, bbq ribs had no sauce etc.

Extra time was put on the order so the maximum waiting time was 1hr 10 minutes. It passed the time so I had to call up to chase. They said it had left 15 minutes ago. Over 10 minutes after that it arrived. Amazingly piping hot. Either the delivery driver had an oven on board or potentially they hadn’t made it/still making it when I called and just sent it out. In total we were waiting over an hour and a half for our food. The food was alright.

The chicken fried rice is always good but I was very disappointed with the sweet and sour chicken. I asked for chicken balls with separate sauce. All I can say is I won't be getting it in future as it was not good. I'll just stick to fried rice : )
