Love this Chinese , always great food

Our friends have raved on about their local Chinese for ages so we gave it a try at the weekend. The spring rolls were delicious as was the chicken satay main with fried rice. We nearly slipped up, they only take cash and we only had our phones, had to go back to our friends and borrow a tenner.

Great Chinese food. Not had a problem with this takeaway. Comes in large container full to the brim and would use again. Reasonable price as well.

Sadly had forgotten how poor this takeaway was when we ordered for the 2nd time after our regular takeaway was closed. Totally lacking flavour, cheap ingredients - very disappointed

Had noodles and curry sauce so much yummy.if you explain what you want they do their best to accomodate yr needs.

Easily the best Chinese takeaway in York. Fantastic range of options and good value! Always delivered really quickly. Wish you could order online but it’s worth the call.

Really lovely takeaway. There's two of us and we always have leftovers for the next day. Usually about £19 quid for two meals plus crispy seaweed

Never been before but it has been recommended to us, SO, this evening we tried and we are so pleased we did. I’ve not had a Chinese like this before! Very tasty and highly recommend. We will certainly be back even though we had to travel a little. Scrumptious 😋

Normally this takeaway is nice just ordered beef fried rice and salt n pepper chips there were NoTASTE AT ALL to the beef fryer rice so dry also very disappointed

Generally find that it's not the best of takeaways in the area and the food quality can be hit & miss. Also find the man behind the counter to be quite abrupt at times.

It's nice. The squid starter is nice but Farmfoods sell the sane thing cheaper.

Brilliant food, we don't go anywhere else.

Our first time with the Dragon House and not a good experience,. The food was luke warm,the chips I would say were reheated,the order was mixed up ie king prawn &ok sauce ended up as sweet and sour king prawn and battered king prawn with ok sauce.

Food is good, but a bit overpriced.

Nice consistent Chinese. Salt n Pepper chips & Beef Chow Mein slapped different.

I started using Dragon House after someone recommended them to me. What can I say, they are now our go to Chinese Takeaway. In fact, they are our go to takeaway full stop. Excellent food (amazing starters in particular!), very reasonably priced, fast delivery and genuinely great service. Love them.

Good local takeaway, my go-to for a Chinese. Most of the food is exactly the thing you expect and want from a Chinese takeaway. However, the chilli garlic duck is out of this world, particularly paired with fried noodles. Get the garlic chilli duck!

Tried Dragon House for 1st time tonight. What wonderful food we got delivered. On time, very tasty & very hot. Varied menus so lots of choice. Can recommend this takeaway.....

Ordered 2 salt and pepper chicken and egg fried rice and they only gave us 1 salt and pepper chicken even after repeating the order 4 times and them saying it back corrected and when asked to sorted it they refused to do anything about it. Food was okay the bit we got

This was my favourite takeaway after a 2nd day 15hr care shift didnt want cook beef in chow mein was chewy and red and didn't smell right and very very disappointed will never use again and still hungry shame

This has always been the best chinese in york,u know was told busy but waited 1hr 25mins not even bag of prawn crackers the beef in the chow mein was red very very disappointed this is not as usual standard and wont be ordering again Shame as a carer work long hours and dont always have time cook

I usually order from dragon house, very rarely from anywhere else. Ordered tonight and understandably they’re very busy so long wait time but what I’ve just received was not only cold but gross and we’ve both left it uneaten. It doesn’t resemble anything I’ve ever had from dragon house before, I’d question if it was even from there or question maybe under new management. Usually very nice

We did use this takeaway on a weekly basis but never again. They sent the wrong order tonight. We rang them back and they insisted they sent the correct order. They did not believe us. Rang again and asked for the correct order to be delivered. Again said it was our fault??. Asked again for correct order very politely. They were very rude. Beware of this takeaway. Lost our custom and will be sharing this with friends and family.

We order some dishes from them, the food is nice, especially crispy shredded chilli beef and salt and pepper chicken, oh, it's my favourite! highly recommend

Like the Chinese been upgraded since I was in a couple of years ago, like what they have done with menu upgraded it experimented throwing in a few chillies and putting colour to it, some other Chinese are a bit bland that's why I like this one.

We've been using this takeaway for many years, we ordered 2 main meals with chicken in and they were awful! The chicken is like jelly we couldn't eat our meals and won't be using them again. I asked if any of my friends had used them recently on social media and about 5 different people all said the same, the chicken is disgusting and appears to have new owners and none of them would be going there again either! I've always recommended this takeaway to friends but never again.

Nice chinese, staff friendly. Sauces in pots need to be hotter though.

Ordered a red Thai chicken curry from here as a home delivery. It was gross, no idea what they do with the chicken but it had a weird texture like very very thick wallpaper paste. Awful!!! Even our dog turned his nose up at it and he eats anything.

My local take away, every time I’ve ordered they’ve been late. They tell you on the phone it’s going to be 30/45 mins. I’ve waited for a hour and 25 mins this evening. Every time I’ve ordered they have been late. I rang to speak to the manager and she refused to give me discount or any sort of refund. Said her driver was new and he had a lot of deliveries, when I asked him how many deliveries he had he answered 3!!!

Two weeks in a row they have got our order wrong, the first week we got blamed for it been our fault that we never asked for item. Tonight exactly the same. Difference been tonight that we know each main meal includes boiled rice of chips as part of it. No boiled rice turned up. We rang and was accused yet again of not ordering it. I heard my husband order on both occasions but yet we were made to feel it’s our fault. They offered to deliver boiled rice if we paid again!!!! They said it would be with us , still waiting now! We will not order from this Chinese again!!!! They have no etiquette to deal with complaints . Shocking customer service!!!!!!

Definitely our favourite Chinese takeaway in York. We have tried many and keep coming back here. Always busy so That says a lot. Never had any issues and the food is always hot and so tasty. Seems to have become a Saturday ritual in our house....Chinese takeaway from Dragon house.

Fantastic food every time love it there

I went here often but I won't go anymore and here's why. I got a starter that they have there. Salt & pepper squid, it cost £5.20 per portion. I went in 2 weeks ago and bought it as it is nice the following day I went to Farm Foods by chance in the same area of York and saw they have the exact same thing in a big bags for £3.99 or 3 bags for £10. I bought 3 bags got home and they are identical to the ones in Dragon House. I feel completely let down Dragon House.

I went for a takeaway this evening and was very disappointed with the curry the meat was very tough. When u phoned to complain I was told I could have 10% off my next order which equates to about 60 p wow total generosity
