Loxley's Restaurant & Wine Bar in Stratford-on-Avon

We have been into loxleys for a drink a few times (we have always had a warm welcome) but have not eaten there for a while why I ask myself as if was all lovely ... food excellent we were served by nina who was lovely and had again a warm welcome. We also really like the restaurant atmosphere so thankyou Fiona

It was an incredible dinner and a very nice Primitivo. I would highly recommend this restaurant for a date. Our server, Nina, was fabulously attentive and very very kind and quite frankly should receive the whole tip.

Delicious, well presented and perfectly cooked food. Scallops followed by Chateaubriand were delicious. Impeccable, attentive service from Nina, Excellent cocktails by Lydia John, thank you to you and your team for a perfect evening.

Brilliant steak, cooked to perfection, great drinks and our waitress Nina was lovely and attentive. Will definitely be back.

A very wet evening so not expecting Loxleys to have many diners but I was pleasantly surprised to see the tables taken. Service very efficient and friendly, food very tasty and hot, atmosphere just right. Will definately return, a little GEM! Well done.

Best Sunday lunch around, always come here when we’re close

Went with my daughter and baby Grandson. We both had the roast. It was excellent, the meat was so tender and the portions were large. Staff were so friendly and helpful, finding room for our large pushchair. Can't wait to return, would highly recommend.

Romantic dinner for 2, great service, amazing food, the Duck with pink peppercorn sauce 10/10, nice hum to the place and you can hear yourselves clearly. If we lived nearer we would be there every week, highly recommended

We had a good position upstairs and the ambience was excellent. Staff were attentive and Alice, who served our table, was excellent. The food was decent but not of the quality one would expect for the price. Overall a good experience, but not great.

We were visiting Stratford with friends for a double birthday weekend and had read great reviews about Loxley’s. We weren’t disappointed the welcome we received, the food and service were fantastic and it was the icing on the cake of what had been a great day visiting the area. Thank you

First class food and service, cannot recommend it highly enough.

Not a great experience tonight. Chicken wings were served so hot they had to have come out of the microwave while scallops were served below room temp and very small portion size for the price. That said, the mussels were nice. The pork belly entree was good but the cod special was very strange flavor. Very disappointed as we have had a few good meals there lately and we’re hoping this would be our new go to. Service was fine up until the end and left sat there waiting for the bill and we were ready to go!

Sunday roast was delicious. We loved everything about this place. Waitress kindly helped us understand the menu items so we knew what we were ordering. On top off all that, restaurant wrote on a card wishing us a happy anniversary that was on the table waiting for us. Top notch!

It was a very good experience, good ambience and our waitress Alice was very helpful especially with explanations and information regarding food intolerances. The portions were generous, the substitutions accommodated, enjoyed the cocktail. The location is central and given people were turned away not having booked it is popular. We would go gain.

Loxley's is always our go to for a meal out in Stratford, where we can guarantee a great meal, fabulous service and amazing food. We live in Stratford, and we do eat other places, but Loxleys is one of our favourites.

Our server, Annie, was experienced, knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. The restaurant was cozy and comfortable in an Olde English kind of way. The menu was creative with an interesting combination of flavors. There were a large number of choices. The preparation and presentation was excellent and the tastes were wonderful. The only downside is that the gents bathroom is very small.

Amazing food, wonderful service, Russell was a fantastic waiter. Would love to return.

We only 'discovered' Loxleys last January, so had to revisit in September. A little more expensive than we are used to, but worth the money! Superb food & wine & service excellent: thank you Lauren!

We booked a meal for our wedding anniversary. The waiter, Russel was exceptional, making the occasion special, with a card and special dessert. He couldn’t have done more for us. The food was great and the atmosphere was lovely.

Lamb dish was mediocre. More fat than lean. Manager apologized and provided a free drink. Portion was small. Served Luke warm. Expected better for the price.

We dined at Loxleys in Stratford when we visited earlier this year ‘24, we were lucky to get a table. We were visiting Stratford to meet up with friends and wanted to eat somewhere so booked ahead to avoid disappointment. Open table was easy to use and gave us the peace of mind, Loxleys was a nice place to visit and catch up with friends over. Nice meal, great menu, good service, decent prices. See you again.

Excellent fillet and ribeye with peppercorn sauce. Preferred the thick cut chips to the skinny fries. Service was prompt, non-intrusive, polite and engaging. Pity about the plastic pretend-candles. But if that’s the only negative there’s nothing to complain about. Highly recommend.

Excellent starter, main and dessert. The chocolate mousse is exceptional. Very good, attentive and friendly service. One of the best restaurants in Stratford-on-Avon.

Was disappointed the roasts weren't available,(guess need to book earlier) one of the reasons I booked was previous reviews ref roasts, my partner had the rib eye (no issues), I had the lamb .lamb is supposed to come with petit poi unfortunately I could count the amount on one hand also not much mash that was more warm than hot. The young lady serving us was lovely

We had a wonderful anniversary meal at Loxleys. The food was absolutely delicious with the feta & filo spring roll & the slow roasted pork belly both being standouts. The staff were extremely friendly & attentive especially our waitress Karolina. When booking I'd mentioned it was our anniversary & asked for a nice table. Not only were we sat in a perfect spot by the window there was a card waiting for us at our table wishing us a happy anniversary. It was a really nice touch. Great food, great service, would definitely recommend.

We stayed a week in Stratford-upon-Avon and ate in four restaurants. One was disappointing, two very good and Loxley's outstanding.

The food was amazing couldn’t stop thinking about it the next day. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and we had a wonderful evening. Loxleys is our go to restaurant now :)

Excellent service and a menu that's difficult to choose from but is worth the effort!

We didn’t receive a specials menu.. and only realised there was one when the table next to us were given one. I struggled from the main menu so would’ve definitely ordered from the specials (when we saw the menu in our way out !) My partner had the steak .. it was ok..The triple cooked chips were anaemic and hard. I had the Thai green curry - not great at all. We were so disappointed and won’t be returning. Also. The service wasn’t the best. We sat there waiting to order for ages and they also took too long clearing our table.

Lovely meal everyone enjoyed their food ranging from steaks to Sunday lunches. I would definitely recommend, food is of a very good quality and cooked to perfection. The manager was so helpful as I had booked for 5 but changed to 6 wanted upstairs and we were accommodated nothing seems to be a problem.our waiter I think his name was Will sorry if it isn’t he looks just like morrisey was brilliant. All in all we had a lovely day. Atmosphere is really relaxing and inviting. So will definitely be back soon.

Fantastic meal at Loxleys this past weekend, excellent food, great atmosphere and fantastic service from Russell! Everything was spot on and made my birthday dinner very special!

Had dinner yesterday and was very disappointed especially after reading other review. I had scallops to start with an odd sauce with corn which doesn’t work and some pancetta which had zero flavour. Mains i chose Chicken Supreme after mistakenly thinking it was the chicken shown in picture on their website. Chicken was perfectly cooked BUT again odd dish. Little puddle of peanut type sauce, VERY tough spring onions, a slab of some kind of tasteless potato and a chicken roll which had a bit of bone/gristle in it. My husband had a ribeye which was half ok but other half gristly Service was good but very underwhelming food

We had such a lovely experience at Loxleys! We booked here for a little bit of a last minute roast, and honestly we can say this is one of the best roasts we’ve ever had. Everything was so flavourful and cooked to perfection, I had a veggie nut roast which, which wasn’t dry at all and really tied nicely as a meat substitute, and my partner had lamb. My partner then had the treacle tart for dessert, we requested custard which they didn’t have but decided to trust the process and order it how it comes, and it was absolutely amazing and totally can see why it’s served the way it is! All of the food was lovely, and our waitress was the sweetest smiliest person ever and made the experience so friendly and welcoming! Unfortunately I didn’t get her name, but she was a young blonde waitress and really made the experience a 10/10. :) If ever were in Stratford again we’ll definitely come back.

Lauren was a great waitress, food was excellent as always. Certainly my go to restaurant when staying in Stratford upon Avon having dropped various kids off to universities!

Fabulous food and beverages. We travelled from US for our 50th anniversary. Sat down to a personalized anniversary card and service to make night perfect. Oh the scallop appetizer and lamb entree were perfect

We ALWAYS come here when we are going to the theatre (3 times per year-ish). I recommend Loxley's to anyone I know is visiting Stratfor. Prices reflect quality of the food. Servers always, always polite and helpful. Never been disappointed.

Celebrating my birthday I was thrilled to receive a lovely birthday card.from the staff and a brilliant tsblle in the alcove . Our meal was excellent from starter , main and desert . Perfectly cooked and delicious. The waitress was friendly and excellent. This remains our favourite restaurant in Stratford and look forward to returning .

Very enjoyable for a Sunday family lunch. Catered for both adults and children well. Very helpful and attentive service team and good food and a fair price.

Staff were friendly and a birthday card on the table to mark a celebration was a considerate touch. The table was rather cramped, but that is the nature of the location. Our real problem was that there was no fish (which was what I had intended to have) - they had run out. Even more problematic was the fact that neither the starter nor the main course that we chose was properly hot. Both courses for both diners were barely warm. Either the food had not been properly heated to start with or it had been left to go cold before serving. In either case, it left one feeling dissatisfied and wondering whether it was worth complaining and thus spoiling an occasion that was meant to be a celebration. We just ate without particularly enjoying what we had been served.

Excellent service, changed my booking time on the day and despite being full on arrival they did indeed have a table for us. A birthday card was waiting for my partner on the table. This was a lovely gesture and made her smile. Food was excellent, atmosphere was excellent. Service was excellent. Five stars ⭐️

Loxleys is without doubt the best restaurant in Stratford upon Avon. The staff can’t do enough for you, the service is excellent. Sue gave us a warm welcome and showed us to our table. There was obviously a lot of local people in the restaurant that go there regularly which created a lovely atmosphere. We had Sunday lunch the meat was cooked to perfection, and the gravy was glossy and delicious. We will certainly be returning. Thank you for a fabulous afternoon.

Good menu and prompt service as we had pre-theatre lunch. Very helpful when we learned one of our party was delayed by heavy traffic.

When in Stratford for a play, we always enjoy Loxley’s for dinner.

A really lovely meal. Friendly, attentive and knowledgeable table service without rushing or being pushy and in your face. Top quality food, beautifully cooked and presented. Succulent, tender pink lamb and fresh vegetables and salad. Wonderful! A sharing plate of desserts that we just wanted to never end. And a bottle of low alcohol cider which was a revelation! Thank you all at Loxley’s, front and back, for a great evening and a delicious holiday treat.

Service excellent. Food outstanding. Busy bustling restaurant. Service of 10% added to the bill but notification is given. Waitress on payment asked if we were happy to do this. The waiting staff were very attentive but not intrusive.

We had the two-course pre-theatre menu. Both of us had the sea bass and agreed that it was superb. The flavours worked perfectly together. The desserts were also delicious. The portion sizes for both courses were ideal for us: not too large but certainly enough to be satisfying. The two-course menu set us up well for the evening. I would recommend Loxley's to anyone looking for good food in Stratford.

We booked a table for six of us for a pre theatre dinner. First it was a lovely temperature in the restaurant and much appreciated as a very hot day. Secondly the ambient music was low - hurrah! The menu had an interesting range of food suiting the omnivores, vegetarians and the gluten intolerant. We all enjoyed a main course each though sadly didn’t have time for a dessert before the play

From the welcome as we entered to the fair wells as we left Loxley’s just cannot be faulted. Loxleys treated my gluten free situation seriously and I was therefore able to relax and enjoy my meal The food was sublime. We both chose to have the filet medallions. I had mine blue and it was cooked to perfection. My husband had his medium and the steak did not suffer from being cooked for longer. A sign of an excellently managed kitchen. Extended family meal! We had an absolutely amazing experience at Loxleys! The food was exquisite, the service professional & friendly & the atmosphere was ‘buzzing’! We loved every minute of the night & can’t wait to return?!🤩

We had the fixed price menu and the quality and taste of the food was fantastic. The only slight negative was the size of sea bass fillet which was a bit small. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly, particularly our server, Annie.

We went here for a birthday celebration Sunday Lunch. When we arrived at our table, there was a birthday card from Loxleys, which was a lovely touch. We ordered 2 lamb, 1 chicken and 1 nut roast. All were good sized portions and the staff also bought a vegetarian gravy for the nut roast. Staff were polite and cheerful and we enjoyed our experience, thank you.
