We go to Lowries as a family every Saturday morning and have done for several years. The food has always been perfect and in all the time we have been there for breakfast we have never had a complaint. The staff are excellent, always very attentive, courtious and helpfull. We are a party of between six and ten people, usually with a couple of babies and or older children but we always feel they do their best to accommodate us with the seating arrangements. Thank you so much Lowry's.

Hi. Just to follow up my previous review of Blackleach Country Park, we needed a drink and a quick bite to eat and this cafe is on the way home. It's an odd set up the way the tables ate set. Some overlooking Bolton Road and some overlooking the Ellesmere Centre. However, that's just an observation, we ordered soft drinks that were overpriced and cheesey chips and a bacon sandwich. The staff were very pleasant and attentive and the food was delivered within about 15 minutes ish. It was okay and not bad quality, the main thing was it was eatable. I cannot rave about it but nor have I any negative comments. It's a little expensive but if you are after a quick bite in a friendly cafe then it fits the bill, so to speak. I can neither recommend or encourage people not to eat there. It's just an okay place serving okay food. I hope it's within the rules to submit two reviews on the same day. Just wanted to share our experience with others.

Like coming here ..only drawback is how cold it is which is beyond their control. Staff are pleasant, there is a good range of food at decent prices. Staff come to the table and take your order. Food is always fresh and tasty. Only other point of note is that it's cash only .

I don’t know who is to blame Lowry’s or the shopping centre but it’s ridiculously cold, you can’t enjoy anything in those temperatures. The food is good, worth much more that 2 stars but the conditions are unacceptable.

The breakfast cannot be beaten for quality or price. We try to go at least once a month as a Saturday treat. It is far superior to any hotel breakfast and the staff are so friendly. A good experience every time.

It's gets really cold in winter months in here, not the fault of the cafe as it's open with The Ellesmere Centre (really the Ellesmere centre should heat the place), the food is OK, nice breakfast.

Went here as conveniently located in the shopping centre. Friendly staff were great. Food way overpriced probably because of the rent in the shopping centre. Ordered cheese burger & chips at £4.90, burger had cheap processed cheese on & was tasteless. Got 11 (counted) homemade chips with it and added bonus of a hair fried onto one of the chips. Overall, I left still feeling a little hungry & nearly £5 out of pocket. Partner had a breakfast which at over £5 without a brew, your bill soon mounts up. Lowrys is ok for a quick brew but with the food overpriced & not that good, I can't recommend eating there. Many other cafes located around Walkden provide better quality food & cheaper prices.

This cafe is friendly and the food is completely home-made and wholesome there are no fancy frills. The one thing that the cafe has no control is the glass roof that covers it do in the summer gets very hot and in the winter very cold dependent on the outdoor temperature. A great meeting place for breakfast lunch or just even a quick coffee and complete value for money.

Have to say the Home made steak pie was delicious, no chewy bits at all, and the chips and gravy was just enough, together with the mushy peas i really enjoyed it and will be popping in on a regular basis to sample the other delights on offer, highly recommended! I found the staff polite and very friendly and at around £6 including a pot (yes pot not cup), of tea was very reasonable!

Every time I have come to this "cafe" it has been closed. However it only opens 9am-4pm and in the Middle of March I finally had an opportunity to sample the fare.Tea£1.40 for a large pot of earl grey tea served with proper milk. At least three cups-excellent valueScone/butter/jam/creamDelicious scone comes with a giant portion of jam although the cream is probably whipped (as opposed to clotted). Did not bother with the butter and really you could not finish the jam or the cream. I told the Waitress this was the best scone I had tasted in donkey's years and the next minute the Cook was at our table. He explained the scones were baked daily by himself to traditional methods, but on Saturdays he bakes cherry scones-his speciality. When my wife joined me I had a coffee with cream and she had a hot chocolate and cheese on toast. Two very thick slices of tasty bread and good quality cheese but brown bread was ordered and not white; thought not a problem to my wifeValueNo idea of the cost breakdown but at £10.20 this was a delightful dining experience. StaffVery professional and helpful Staff who take the trouble to sit down when giving advice to Customers about the menu items. Will have to return on Saturday for a cherry scone!

Lunchtime snack in this under-used shopping centre. Clean, sunny area at end of shopping centre but everything seemed a little sad :-( Specials board had nothing really tempting. Food was reasonable and didn't take too long to arrive but quality was lacking. Sausages in the ordered Sausage Barm was soggy and seemed to have more bread in them than the barmcake that encased them. A side dish of 'spicy fries with cheese melt' were merely oven-baked extruded mashed potato, and far from spicy - but there was quite a good amount of cheese melted over them. Coffee was insipid. Staff were polite but gloomy - not a smile in sight. Could do better

Nice atmosphere with a big screen and some games machines. Friendly staff and service too. Beer decent and food was ok, lost a 'star' from the rating due to the prices being too high. But recommended.

This is the only place that serves warmed-up chips from days before, judging by the mess I received. It doesn't matter what time of day, they always catch me out. The counter is so high, that you cannot see what is being served. I nearly came back and threw them back.

Popped in for an impromptu late lunch. Absolutely gorgeous food. Spoilt for choice with all the options. Katsu Chicken Curry with rice and chips, Salt & PepperChilli Chicken with chips and curry sauce. Both really tasty and nicely presented. Two main courses for £15 on a deal. We’ll be back.
