What an amazing spot to have a cup of tea and cake!! We were made to feel extremely welcome and had the most delicious scones with cream and lemon curd. If you're walking to or from Clovelly, Brownsham Farm is a worth a visit. We contacted them beforehand to check if we could bring our motorhome down the lanes to the tea room. Tina responded quickly and said that this was possible. Definitely worth the visit!

Came across this tearoom during a long coastal walk, just after I said 'wouldn't it be nice to find somewhere to have coffee and a cake!'. How welcome it was and the owner was so friendly and nice. I had a coffee and a piece of coffee and walnut cake which was home made and really good. My husband had a 'savoury tea' - cheese scone, cream cheese and pickle with a pot of tea which was a first for him, and really enjoyed. We sat inside as the weather wasn't great and there was a huge array of teapots in a cabinet to look at, there was an attractive garden outside if the weather had been nice.

Stopped in at this surprise Tea Room on our Coastal walk. Delightful Farm bases Tea/Coffee house, where we sampled excellent cakes. Excellent service and enjoyed our chat to the owner about farm life ~ she also helped with hiking directions to make sure we kept to the straight and narrow. You can drive to the farm so useful if you are ever in the Hartland area of Devon.

What a great place, situated in an old farm building with small indoor cafe and a large tea garden. Although we only had a savoury tea it was of excellent quality.

What a find when we were half way around our walk. Like an oasis in the sand as they say. Excellent food and service.

A warm welcome in a charming setting. Good range of cakes and bakes and scones on offer with the usual range of drink options. Very friendly and welcoming. Much better than the mass produced 'plastic' cafes with steam driven noisy appliances.

We'd just finished a walk through the beautiful woods and were delighted to find signs to a farm tea room. The seating was a little rough and ready but it was perfectly good - round tables, some with parasols. It was a lovely peaceful setting, especially the budleia covered in about ten species of butterfly. The best bit though was the coffee - delivered to the table in a large cafetiere. Fab.

Not the easiest place in the world to find (we almost gave up twice!!) but the afternoon tea was well worth the perseverance! We were late to arrive, but the owner kept the tea room open specially for us! Amazing! Overall, a great location, even better service and fabulous tea and cakes. Oh, almost forgot - Great Value... The key test of course is : Would I return?? ABSOLUTELY.

We stopped here after a lovely walk along the South West coast path. What a lovely little find, tucked away and just perfect after a long walk. Lovely cafetiere of de-caff coffee ad a pot of tea with great big slices of home-made cake. Really lovely

After a good walk to Black Church Rock at Hartland we went to the farm for tea. There's an outside area but as it was very hot we sat inside, the benefit of which was to chat with the proprietor. She was friendly and welcoming and served good cake and tea. It's a place worth going to if you're in the area and need refreshment.

We arranged a muddy walk with three mums, 8 children at Brownsham to do a muddy walk and follow the National Trust Quiz trail. Afterwards we did a short walk from the car park to the tea room and enjoyed a cream tea and refreshments for the children. Beautiful spot, delicious cake and ice creams for the kids. Lovely to sit and relax in the afternoon sunshine. Thank you - we will be back.

A newly opened cafe providing 'coffee & cake' (other drinks are available too) for walkers starting or finishing at The National Trust Brownsham car park. The cafe is very clean and prices are very reasonable, there is either indoor or outdoor seating which has a large grassed area for children to play.

We booked a last-minute dinner at the Royal George for 12 people (with just a couple of hours’ notice!) and were absolutely blown away by the experience. We’re on holiday in Appledore and this evening was easily a highlight of our trip. The team couldn’t have been more accommodating – they gave us a private room, which made it feel extra special. Service was exceptional from the moment we arrived. We were never left waiting for anything – drinks flowed, food came out promptly, and the staff were friendly, attentive, and genuinely warm. The food? Incredible. The burgers were terrific, the steaks were melt-in-the-mouth tender, the mussels were fresh and full of flavour, and the fish curry was perfectly spiced and absolutely beautiful. They even went above and beyond by sending us home with a takeaway portion of the chef’s crumble of the day for a family member who couldn’t make it. Such a thoughtful touch. And yes, our dog Barney was welcomed too – which made the whole evening feel even more inclusive and relaxed. We left full, happy, and very grateful. The Royal George is an absolute gem. Highly recommend!
