I have been here for lunch many times now and every time I have visited it just gets better.. Food is always fresh. The homemade cakes are absolutely gorgeous! Generous portions. Atmosphere is relaxing and cosy . Staff attentive and polite. The shop downstairs is lovely too. Nice to have a look around and see some unusual items for sale..

This shop is stunning! They have so many beautiful items including gifts, clothes, home-ware, jewelry and so much more. We were spoilt for choice and the staff were very kind and accommodating. To top this off, we had a scone and coffee upstairs which was absolutely delicious. We will definitely be back! Special mention to the owner Libby who was very friendly and welcoming to us.

Where to start ! Visited shop today and was met by the lovely Libby, the new owner. Wasn’t disappointed, like an Aladdin’s cave of gorgeous gifts. Beautiful items for all, including candles, ceramics, jewellery, on trend clothing. Handbags, scarfs and much much more. When you venture upstairs you will be greeted by her wonderful staff serving tea coffee freshly made sandwiches and a selection of truly amazing home made cakes. The attention to detail is outstanding. Lucky Rayleigh to have such a diverse establishment Well done girls 💕 Will be back soon.

As a frequent visitor to The Lovely Cup I cannot recommend it highly enough. The ladies there are lovely and the cakes that are freshly baked are better than any you'll find elsewhere. I can't wait for my next visit.

Casual shopping with family in Raleigh we visited Lovely Home Interiors just off the high Street. Not only a lovely gift shop but a fantastic tea room upstairs. The ladies on hand in shop and tea area are just lovely, so endearing it makes your visit great. Tables are placed with thought and décor is great. The range if teas, sandwiches, and cake to put a wow smile on everyone face are delightful. Cakes are all homemade and wonderful. If in Rayleigh stop and visit you will love it.

Visited today with my daughter and her 2 daughters for a beginning of half term treat. Some treat it turned out to be as we walked in the assistant on realising my granddaughter aged 8 was wearing Healeys (trainers with wheels) said 'you will have to walk in them and sit down, she was walking and was making her way to the table which upset her, she was then snapped at by the same assistant for touching the sugar sachets in a pot on the table saying other people did to use them they are in enclosed packets for goodness sake! I feel the cafe should have a children not welcome sign on the door. after finishing our drinks and cakes we couldn't find any one to pay so eventually asked the lady selling material where to pay she snapped back here at this till we then had to wait whilst she finished serving the customer. If this place wants to survive I stronger suggest they look at their customer service skills as we are not exactly short of places to eat in Rayleigh and I for one will not be returning !!!

My friend and I went into this shop to buy a gift for another friend only to be spoken to like a piece of trash and as if we were causing the owner a problem simply because we were buying a gift in her shop. Many items were not priced up and so it meant we had to keep asking - not our fault she hadn't done this but her body language said differently. The owner was extremely rude at the checkout who spoke down to us after telling us the candle was a melt not a candle. When we asked oh what's that then she just smirked and said it's a melt. We still don't know the difference between a candle and a melt - neither did she by the sounds of things as she couldn't answer the question, to then say oh it is a candle, I couldn't believed the attitude she gave simply because we asked for the Rice of a few unprimed items?! We or our families wouldn't shop there ever again. We found a lot of items were over priced and could be purchased around the corner for much less and with a welcoming attitude and behaviour!

We have been to the lovely cup a few times and each time it has been delightful. It is cosy and quiet, just what you want when catching up with friends and family. The staff are friendly and helpful. The star of the show, of course, are the incredible cakes! They are enormous and delicious. The hardest part is deciding which one to go for! 😀🍰

I have been to the tea room on the first floor which I think is called The Lovely Cup, many times with my brother and also a friend. The sandwiches are excellent and made with lovely bread which I know comes from Grouts Bakers in Rayleigh. I always have the seeded bread which I always buy from Grouts anyway.I do have to say the sandwiches are expensive at £4.95 for a cheese salad or ham salad, but you do get a salad garnish and small pot of coleslaw with it. You can't compare with Gregg's as someone said in their review that they got a sandwich and tea for £4 there. You don't get salad or coleslaw with theirs, it is a bog standard cheese sandwich! In any case it has a much nicer decor and ambience than sitting in Gregg's!The cakes are always delicious and you get a large slice and I have never had a bad one. They are always moist. I intend to revisit often! I do think it would be better, as someone else said to have slightly bigger pots of tea, and the cups are small, although I have asked for a small jug of hot water before and they obliged. The waitresses are always very friendly and pleasant.

Nice little tearoom above a shop but very small range .. Basically drinks and cake.the choc sponge was lovely.. Very moist and generous slice.the tea was disappointing though.the teapot was so small I could barely get one cup out of it.And the water couldnt have been boiling either because it came out tepid from both pots that I had.

I went here on a Monday morning, when the coffee shop wasn't busy, with my mum and ordered tea and shared a Victoria sponge cake. The waitress came over with the cake and told us she had cut it in two so that we each had our own slice which would have been a lovely gesture had the cake not been a slither. It was like paper and a complete rip off for £3.00. I felt like asking where the rest of it was! I noticed another waitress making a new victoria sponge cake therefore it wasn't as though they didn't have enough to cut us a decent slice! I was throughly disappointed and will not be returning to this coffee shop.

Went here after finding the adjoining Cole's Vintage Tea Shop had closed.Upstairs there are 3/4 small tables in a corner with a small catering area. I visited it was 3/4 full so I took the vacant table looked at the menu and was promptly told by a waitress that she would be with me in a minute. She then went to the other side of the room to take payment for a lady who wished to pay after my conversation, then she returned to start clearing the other table. This is now ten minutes in and she stops, goes to the catering area and I assume, incorrectly, that she is getting a pad to take my order. She isn't she is getting a cloth to continue cleaning the tables. I got up and left! How can a staff of three with only 4 tables fail to take an order? On the menu side I was to choose a cheese salad sandwich at £4.95 and a pot of tea at £1.80. I had the same in Greggs at £4.00 so I feel their prices are too high here, though I never got to taste the fare. There are six cafes in a 50 yard area and there is complacency which is strange. However, if they continue with the poor service I can see tem going the way of Cole's!First time of visit and possibly the last!
