Lovely afternoon spent at Lovelady Shield Hotel for afternoon tea with my daughter. Gorgeous location and drive over from Hexham the tea was served in the front living room very private and cozy and the food was lovely and lots of it !! Had to box it up to take home , the staff were lovely and very attentive and have to mention how lovely and clean the ladies loo was !! Would recomend there was a vegetarian choice no problem and great value with unlimited tea and coffee for £18 per person.

Stayed for a couple of nights and was a lovely break away in the North Yorkie Moors. We stayed in the hotel itself and had a wonderful view of the garden in our double room (2). A nicely furnished room with tea & coffee making facilities, shower / bath, and sofa. Breakfast was great and brilliant selection on the menu, hot or cold. Staff spot on and friendly. Great for info on nearby places to visit & see. Would highly recommend as secluded & tranquil 🙏🏻

Lovely spot by the river and the tap water was cold, but thats as good as it gets. All our food was luke warm. The tortilla chips were unpleasant, soggy and nothing I couldn't have done better myself. The sticky kebab wasn't sticky but was very tough. The nan bread it came with (an odd combination for a kebab) was cheap, nasty, unheated, and soggy. Cocktails were disappointing. Wine list was not great. Music would have been fine if we were in a night club, but consequently made conversation difficult. I was glad to leave.

Good range of drinks and pizzas. Service charge is automatically added, which is disappointing, especially when you have to order at the bar, and it's already quite pricey for a small local pub. It always leaves a bad taste when it's not until after I pay that I notice that they've added a 10% service charge, feels cheeky. It's not stated anywhere on the menus that they do this.
