Louth Garden Centre Restaurant is very hit and miss regarding the menu and food choices. We eat there quite regularly but in the last week, ordered eggs Benedict Saturday morning, no Hollandaise sauce, not being delivered till Monday, (So not made in house and 2 supermarkets within 2 miles that sell it!). Sunday Carvery ran out of Beef, and Roast potatoes by 1.15pm. Not the first time either. Today, no burgers! This is now becoming a regular thing .. running out of products. Putting us off going there now. We would always take friends/family on a Sunday, raved about the roast dinners, but not now unless you get there about 12.30 and want dinner by 1pm at the very latest. Generally the food is good though … if they’ve got it.

Nothing was too much trouble for the staff! ... We phoned in advance to enquire about the vegan options re the Sunday carvery. They went above and beyond by preparing us some separate vegan friendly veg that were cooked to perfection and timed perfectly with our arrival! All served with a smile! Thank you for such an enjoyable experience!

Bit disappointed as rang ahead to check on carvery times was told they shut 30mins before Garden Centre at 4pm got there at 2.30 was told there was no carvery left then watched as they dished the carvery left over in to about 15 plates, could have let us have it. Then had to order off normal menu ordered chips and got 5 chipsm on my meal I complained and they did cook us some more, just very disappointed as family were only over for weekend, spent over £65 on 5 meals that weren't very nice, won't be going again

If you want just a small portion of fish and chips along with barely cooked garden peas , tasteless and only warm you have come to the right restaurant . It costs over £30 for two with a coffee. They were SUPPOSED to be normal portion sizes and well cooked , and hot enough to enjoy but the chef needs to be taught how it's done and the manager needs to be taught how to take notice or be replaced !!

Myself and my husband went to the garden centre for a Christmas lunch. When it arrived the turkey and mash (not fresh) was on our plates along with a deep fried stuffing ball, cheap greasy pigs in blanket and no roast potatoes! I asked where the roasts were, we were told, 'they were on last year's menu'! They clearly was not because it said ' thyme roast potatoes on the menu! The sprouts (not fresh), carrots, red cabbage and cauliflower cheese came separately in dishes. The whole meal was luke warm and we had to ask for gravy, which wasn't 'chefs roast gravy' as stated on the menu, more like granules. For our dessert we chose the raspberry, cranberry and white chocolate trife. It was the worst trife I have ever eaten!! Three sour cranberries at the bottom, tasteless sponge and tinned custard! After, we waited twenty minutes and had to ask for our hot drinks, after another twenty minutes they still didn't arrive, so we didn't bother, we complained about the drinks and all we got was a sorry! Definitely will not be going there again!!

We have been eating in Louth Garden centre for over 5 yrs & generally had no (food) complaints. We ordered a 'All day' breakfast, Tea & Hot Chocolate, After waiting too long for the food, we were served a Children's portion of chips, soaked & literally dripping in oil. The drinks had gone cold by that time ! My partner had Ham, Egg & Chips, there was only one egg & just 1 measly slice of Ham, folded in two. Both meals were luke warm. We complained & received a full refund of £25 & 2 free meal vouchers. I asked if it was a new chef & was told it wasn't. Real shame because we got on well with most of the staff. Sadly we won't be returning.

Went in with my baby in a pram for coffee and a scone. Staff were helpful in that they took my coffee and scone to my table for me so I could push the pram but not so helpful in other ways. I went back up to the counter to ask them to heat my scone and they said there was a microwave at the other end of the cafe. I went over (carrying baby) and the microwave wasn’t plugged in and the plug socket was behind a Christmas tree with both plugs in use, and difficult to get to so just ate it cold. It’s not the end of the world but it would have been much easier if staff had just heated up the scone - it would have taken 30 seconds. The food I have had there over my two visits has been good otherwise, and coffee is ok.

Very disappointed!! My husband and l have had meals at the gardeners retreat restaurant many times and it was at one time very good but over the past year it has slowly gone into decline, today my husband had sausage egg and chips, the sausagesand chips were almost cold, l had cheeseburger which was inedible all grisly and mostly black on the outside!! About a month ago we had gammon and chips it was so bad we couldn't eat it so we complained and was given a voucher for a free meal but we would rather have a good meal as it used to be!!! We attended Louth garden centre for Sunday lunch today 10 September 23. We won’t be going back. We have been there many times and it has got progressively worse, there is not enough staff and no organisation. The beef was tough although the gammon was nice, the vegetables were mostly undercooked and inedible. I appreciate some may like them like that but just looking around at the other tables not one left empty plates and a lady walking past our table also remarked on the beef. The staff are helpful but the food is overpriced especially the cakes. Needs a big overhaul. On a positive jugs of water are supplied.

really disappointed in this place, takes ages to place and receive an order, only one person working (her socks off) to take orders, money and make the coffees and teas. no de-caffinated coffee available. who does the purchasing? their reward card, used to be one for each coffee or tea purchased, now only two per transaction, and though the table tops are clean, the chairs really need a good looking at. result, we are off somewhere else, it takes too long, the product we wanted wasn't available, penny pinching unnecessarily and unattractive things to sit on.

We have been to the cafe on previous occasions and enjoyed the breakfast but our latest visit was a big let down ( in line with recent reviews from other visitors). We ordered the large breakfast only to be told that there were no sausages ( ordered at 10.am so not that long after opening). We asked if they would replace the missing sausages with black pudding only to be told that they would be charged as extras! Then asked if they would be charging less instead , to which the answer was no but they would give extra bacon which we accepted - big mistake as one breakfast came with a small slice extra and the other was so small it couldn’t be classed as a slice - not a good substitution for 2 Lincolnshire sausages. To add injury to insult both breakfasts came with half a cooked tomato not the two advertised. Hopefully the issues are just temporary and the cafe will return to its glory days but until the reviews improve we will sadly have to go elsewhere.

I went to the Wyvale restaurant in Louth for lunch with friends and I ordered fish and chips with tea or coffee and bread and butter included in the price (I didn’t receive any bread) The fish was unfortunately covered in a thick hard brittle batter which I had to hit with my fork to break through to the little bit of dried up fish at the bottom. Why the chef thought it was fit to serve, I don’t know. I complained and did receive a nicer piece but still not good value.

Called here on the way back from Louth, we had 2 small children with us and thought it a good idea rather than a pub menu. Happily proved right. Good, extensive menu, reasonably priced, with varied and numerous vegetarian options. For the adults - tuna nicoise salad, italian chicken and beef lasagne. All came with sides, such as salad, chips, new potatoes, garlic bread. The children had a jacket potato each, which were large and also with salad. Various drinks purchased to go with the meal. A lovely touch offered, and not one that is often seen, was a jug of water provided with glasses, Excellent venue to stop for families. Very busy, but still got our meal out to us in reasonable time.

Often pop in for coffee and a slice of their delicious cake if I'm shopping in the garden centre. Always good.

My daughter and I arrived mid afternoon and both ordered the bacon, chicken, Brie and red onion marmalade toastie a with a side of fries. Taking a seat at the rear of the restaurant we waited for our order to arrive. Within a very short time our food was served by a very friendly young lady. The toasties were delicious and although the restaurant was very busy the tables were cleared quickly and efficiently by the staff. I would recommend this restaurant as they serve full hot meals and a very wide varied range of lighter meals/snacks plus the garden centre is well worth a visit....lots of Christmas gifts, decorations to browse after a tasty break.

Don't listen to the moaners about this place. We've been many, many times and it's great. The staff ARE very friendly, maybe it's the person who moaned about them, attitude to the staff, because we've always found them fun and caring. They are always busy at lunchtime but still have time for a chat and laugh. The food, which again someone said takes ages to arrive, is usually freshly cooked, or some elements, and tastes lovely. It's a real treat to go and eat here, then there's the rest of the garden centre to look around. We've not tried afternoon tea and cakes there, but they look gorgeous and will be tempted one day soon!!

the food here is prepared fresh on order and is very tasty. We have visited many times and had coffees and cakes which are also delicious. The main courses on offer are good value. The café area itself is really nice and comfy and has a warm friendly atmosphere.

Having read other reviews about the Afternoon Tea we really weren't sure what to expect. However, we needn't have worried as both the food and the service were fine. Afternoon tea was booked via Groupon making it good value. No complaints from us at all.

Having received yet another afternoon tea voucher ( this is our third in as many weeks ) my wife and I invited two very good friends to experience an afternoon tea. We were not disappointed. Sandwiches, Scones with cream and jam plus a selection of dainty cakes made up the nice presentation. Add to this a choice of hot drinks and we were soon tucking into our enjoyable experience. Served by pleasant staff in clean surroundings we recommend the establishment highly. Just one point, it would have been nice to have been given one more choice of sandwich, as has happened in our previous afternoon tea experiences.

The staff need a lesson in good customer service. I got the impression they did not care whether they served you or not and a smile was a definite no no. The ffod was very bland and I have never seen so many sold out signs.

Called in for lunch, very friendly staff who seem to be a bit short staffed for the amount of people wanting to be served. Otherwise great main meals and sweets, hot drinks served in good time. Overall a nice clean restaurant that we will go back to again.

Never had a problem with the quality of the food. Unfortunately getting to to your table is not that fast. Be prepared to wait as this is the cafe that service time stood still. However the wait is generally worth it.

Long queue to get served, service is very slow. Placed my order and took my teapot and cups to my table, only to discover on sitting down that the cups were dirty. Took them back to the counter for clean ones, sat down at my table only to discover that one of the cups had a big chip out of the cup lip, could have been nasty, got another replacement. My sandwich arrived and it was white bread, my order was for brown bread. The poor young girl at the counter didn't give the impression she was enjoying her job and looked under a lot of stress. My wife commented that the restaurant and garden centre as a whole was going downhill. The price of a lot of plants seemed to be beyond expensive too.

Ate here as couldn't find anywhere in town that suited, had fish and chips which were lovely. Quite busy when we went on a Saturday afternoon but staff were friendly and quick at serving customers. Cakes looked good but we just didn't have room after our meal! Good for quick reasonably priced meal.

Had lunch here with my elderly mum recently. We found the meals to be ok, just ok. Price wise it seems expensive compared to other centres. The service was slow, so the hot drinks were cold by the time the rest of the meal arrived. Not really impressed. Must say though that the staff are very friendly. The garden centre is great though and we shop there frequently - shame the restaurant lets it down.

The service has declined since we last dined here. Little touches have disappeared. The wine is now plonked on the table and initial glass no longer poured. I had the lamb wellington, and was somewhat disappointed to receive 2 small cubes of meat. It was very nice though as was the rest of our meal.

There seem to be bad reviews about this Costa but I like it very much.this time I was alone, usually I am with a friend.the barista pointed out to me that I had a complimentary drink on my app so I had a strawberry frappe entirely free and o nly had to pay for my cake.staff are friendly and the place is clean.

Have had the set Sunday lunch on several occasions. Quality of the meal has been fairly consistent. Today however, the experience was overshadowed by some very nasty custard! It sounds very picky, when the rest of the meal was fine, but watery, lumpy, tasteless powdered custard with the crumble, took the edge right off...
