Lovely location, food, staff and service... Fairly sure they won't allow dogs inside...

Great breakfast, highly recommend.

Great veggie vegan breakfasts, good coffee too. Service was quick. The only downside was I found the room quite noisy as it filled up. Sometimes difficult to hear a conversation at our own table. Perhaps I'll sit outside next time. 4 clean plates so all good.

Popped in for a first time visit. We had two cheese scones, a cappuccino and a hot chocolate. The scones were huge and very tasty, and the drinks were top class. Friendly and helpful staff. The views outside are absolutely stunning. Recommended.

Very pleasant experience as usual. Good quality food at reasonable prices. Plenty of options for all tastes, plus a daily "specials board."Staff friendly and efficient. Parking is good and free.! Spacious dining areas inside and undercover eating areas available outside as well. Good views.

I had the olympic breakfast and it was very high quality and exceptionally well cooked. The service was very friendly and considering how busy they were the food came very fast. Thoroughly recommend it, great view too.

It was my first visit, and I won't be returning! I ordered the soup of the day(leek & potato) and looked and tasted like dishwater and not like the soup I was expecting. The cheese scone that came with it was ok but very expensive £8.45! My partner had a breakfast, and it was very greasy and fantastic quality produce for price. Unfortunately, due to this bad experience, I am reluctant to return

We booked a table in advance,waited a while for our drinks and food when the food arrived it was cold! The staff looked moody probably will not return again.

My sister took me to this place. It was near Christmas and most tables were reserved. Seeing our disappointment one of the staff checked and said we could use one of the tables providing we were done in about hour and half. We were happy as we had been driving and phoning places and most were booked up. The staff were lovely and so helpful. We had beverages and sis had wine. Reasonable selection of hot and cold drinks. We chose our meals. They had battered fish and chips with peas and tarter sauce. I chose steak and kidney suet pudding, mash potato and veg with gravy. We did not have to wait long before it arrived. And boy there was a lot and it was nice and hot. I loved every mouthful and so did my sis and brother. Great value I thought for money. And so very tasty. When finished we chose desert and I had apple and berry crumble with custard and they chose strawberry cheesecake with cream. And once again a lot of it and very tasty. It's a lovely place and overlooks views of Dartmoor national park. Plenty of seating inside and also outside. Large amount of parking. Also disabled access. Toilets were clean. And like I said staff were lovely. All in all a warm and lovely experience and I personally do recommend.

Food good. Accoustics awful, made worse by piped music that make folks have to raise their voices to be heard above.

Location is amazing and the serving staff match. The service was very good. If you are travlling between Callington and Gunnislake it's worth popping in for a breakfast or a brew , it's worth a visit

Been many times, the breakfasts are always great and the staff cannot be more helpful!! As we discovered today, the Sunday lunches though are not great. Maybe we just chose a bad day to go, but the Beef was as tough as leather and inedible and the veggies that even my Mrs who enjoys 'Al dente' food agreed were raw. - Yes, we could have complained but that's not our style. We just move on. On a positive note: The gravy was gorgeous... but £11.50 is a lot to pay for a bit of nice gravy.

I had a cream tea for a very reasonable price. The scone was warm, delicious and so large I didn't need dinner. *There was enough cream* and they were not stingy with the jam either. My daughter had a piece of chocolate brownie that was also delicious and enormous. Bonus lovely view across the countryside. Excellent.

Great food, we had the small fish and chips. A superb amount on the plate. Unless you're hungry I'd stick with the small portion. Good value for money. Don't forget to head up Kit Hill, a fantastic view on a clear day.

Great place for all day breakfasts. Loads of parking space and capacity for lots of customers. Food is always great, reasonably priced as well.

Nice view from the gardens, great outdoors and wonderful hiking places around and good spot to sit and rest with coffee and cake or freshly cooked food. Everything was fine except my ham, egg and chips weren't fresh, 2 hours later my stomach felt it giving me a nausea. I hope next time I visit you will have freshly cooked food as it says on the menu.

What a great place, great views, diligent staff, great food and good portions, we had a roast there yesterday and there can be no complaints, the value for money is outstanding, I was even shown the workings of the orange squeezing machine by one of the female members of staff, thank you, its not the first time I have been there and it's definitely not the last, see you soon.

It was a very lovely meal, The pie was home made. Nice vegetables and chips. And lovely cakes etc. you can also buy take away food.

I went there for breakfast with my partner, the food is locally sourced and fresh, the service is friendly and food good, also they have a little farm shop, would recommend and we will go back again.

Visited after a walk around Kit Hill, service was really good however I ordered the Vegetarian brie & cranberry panini but was given the bacon & Brie panini instead. I figured it was just an easy mistake since there were 5 of us therefore didn’t complain.

We called in on Sunday 16th of June and sat outside in the decking area and enjoyed the view. Well until a horse truck turned up and parked right at the side of our table. So the view had gone, and what made it 10 times worse was the fact that then just sat there for at least 10 minutes with the engine running, with the death rattle of a truck engine on its last legs. How totally inconsiderate can someone be? Just got up and didn't linger. Not an enjoyable experience at all. You should prevent anyone parking by the decking area, as if l wanted to enjoy a coffee in a car park, there's always Callington for that!

Came in late on Thursday for a cream tea with friends on 13th June and Breakfast the next day, the ladies were superb in service very helpful and smilng even when busy. Thank you very much.

Always a visit when in Cornwall, my parents frequent weekly. Great staff, lovely atmosphere and wonderful food. Handmade produce.. Chutneys, jams ect and gifts

Happy friendly place with great service from the extremely busy staff. Food took a little while to arrive, but, considering the place was very busy that can be forgiven. The food itself was hot, and the "middle breakfast" was definitely enough to keep a grown man going for the day. Also, the "Bacon and Black pudding stack", lovely perfectly cooked bacon, and, the black pudding was not the cheap and nasty stuff you find in other establishments, this was delicious. Personally, I would like to see the black pudding cut a bit thicker as it was a little on the thin side, but, no complaints about the taste and texture of it. All in all, lovely, very tasty food, reasonably priced and perfectly placed in the countryside.

I haven't had a breakfast here for a long while, and I was really impressed with the quality of the food today. Delicious breakfast. The service and the setting also, was really lovely. We will definitely be back.

Last day of my holiday with my best friend and wanted afternoon tea but didn't realise we had to book in advance.we diced to buy a sandwich and panini.After eating a small bit I noticed the bacon was under cooked and full of fat and was inedible.My friend had smoked salmon which was grey and pale pink and was awful.Inly had one bite.we brought it to the attention of the staff and our plates were removed and we were charged £22.75p for food we could not eat.We had intended to have cream tea if we had room for it .we told staff to wait until we had eaten then we would decide.When we challenged it with management we were told that cream tea had been made for us and still got charged for the food that was inedible.The coffe was lovely and stunning views however we will not be returning due to poor customer service and poor food quality.

A little gem of a cafe/ restaurant at the base of " KIT HILL " near Callington, Cornwall. Wonderful views, food, drink, service and very good prices and dog friendly. Thoroughly recommend. Just 10 minutes from Calstock.
