Fantastic staffs, we had a lovely meal, the meat was delicious, I strongly recommend it.

I had the eat all you like, my partner had the mixed grill. The mixed grill would have been well enough for me, but it was good to try so many meats. I don't eat meat often so tonight I definitely had my fill of meat!

We really enjoyed our meal, the meat was superb, fab selection of sides and lovely staff. A real treat, the kids really enjoyed it and the whole experience was exciting! Also great for growing teenagers, plenty of food, at a good price. We will definitely be back.

Been here twice this month and it is always a fun time. The buffet experience is great and all the staff are friendly and want to give everybody a good time. We came here for Xmas day dinner today and had an amazing time, we are sober and they made us mocktails which was very kind and considerate. Will definitely be returning often.

This Brazilian restaurant boasts an awesome space with fantastic music and a lively atmosphere. The ambiance truly shines. However, the dining experience was significantly impacted by a few key issues: * Meat Cutting: The meat was often cut too deeply, leading to excessive fat and gristle. This detracted from the overall quality of the cuts. * Fries Never Arrived: Despite ordering fries, they never made it to the table. This was a disappointing oversight. * Meat Service Disrupted: The flow of meats to the table was inconsistent and eventually stopped altogether. This left us feeling unsatisfied and wanting more. While the owner was prompt in acknowledging these concerns, it's clear that service needs improvement. Overall: This restaurant has immense potential. The ambiance is superb, and with some attention to service details like consistent meat delivery, proper meat cutting, and order fulfillment, it could truly excel. The food was absolutely fantastic. As a first-timer at a steakhouse, I made the rookie mistake of loading up on items from the buffet, which turned out to be unnecessary as a continuous stream of delicious meats and endless fries were brought to the table. The cinnamon sugar-coated pineapple was also a delightful surprise. While there were a few mix-ups with the drink orders and the atmosphere could have been livelier, these minor hiccups didn’t take away from the overall experience. Despite these small issues, it was still a worthwhile visit, and I’d definitely return again.

First time eating here, pre birthday meal and I am so glad I gave it a go. Absolutely brilliant atmosphere, immaculate throughout, the restaurant front doesn't do it justice, inside is a hidden gem. The staff are friendly and efficient, and nothing was too much trouble. The guy server in the santa hat is most definately a character. Food was amazing, the all you can eat meat was sensational, as was the help yourself salad and buffet cart. Definately be returning and outstanding value for money, totally recommend if you're a meat lover.

Amazing! Have just left and can't move as so full. Staff are brilliant, attentive, friendly and actually interested in making your night memorable. The meats were cooked beautifully and the buffet was really fresh and tasty. Highly recommend this place. And if you consider how much you end up eating over the 2 hours, really good value for money. Nunu is hilarious too. 😃

Poor start, poor finish. There was obvious disappointment in the waiters face as we didn't choose the main meat spectacular. Then confusion over our orders. Then our mains came out before our starters. 2 mixed grills with steak so thin it makes you wonder why they asked how you would like it cooked. Table of 7 all disappointed with meals and certainly price.

Nuno was incredible! You are lucky to have him, we didn’t get our drinks until after the food but nuno made up for it!

Incredibly expensive for what it is, 2 people paying £90 is ridiculous. Came away feeling incredibly underwhelmed. Will not be returning. And will be very surprised if this place is still open in a years time.

A good experience, brilliant staff but the food is so-so at best. Mostly cold and quality not spectacular. Edible, good fun but wouldn’t go for the food.

Came for lunch to celebrate daughter and daughter in laws birthdays, there was 6 of us and a toddler we had the Rodizio lunch, each of us was asked how we like the steak cooked and we all got what we asked for. Service awesome and very friendly staff who could not do enough for us. Food was just awesome if you not been here you need to as you will not be disappointed. Well recommended and thank you for an amazing experience.

We been to Rodizio at the O2 in London last year, and had a fantastic experience of fresh hot meat brought to the table. It was great to see something similar in Plymouth. This place has the tastiest, most tender meat I can remember, all served by Nuno, who was a joy to talk to and talented chef. Terrific and recommended.

I took my husband here for his birthday with our 5 year old son. The food was absolutely fantastic and the drinks were great. Service was impeccable. The owner Bruno is a lovely guy who is very welcoming and chatty. We will be back at their new venue on the Barbican.

We just had a really great family night here. The idea is simple but brilliantly executed. We had the Rodizio menu. Basically skewers of delicious (some marinated) cuts of grilled chicken, beef, lamb and ham - cut and served table side. You are offered as much or as little as you want. There is also a wide selection of help yourself cold and hot buffet. I would definitely recommend for a larger party where you can pay a flat rate per head (discounted for children - ours ate as much as us), and you can eat as much (or as little) as you want. The staff were warm, friendly and incredibly efficient. The owners have clearly worked hard to create a really welcoming and lovely experience. I believe they are moving to the Barbican in the near future, and I hope they do well because they really deserve it!

Food was brilliant and filling, buffet of salad, sauces, rice etc was available whilst we waited for the first cut of meat, and after that it was a speedy service lots and lots of choices and surprises! Asked for extra sausages and they provided. Was a party members birthday and accommodated brilliantly singing and in high spirits. The servers and chef were brilliant not only to us but tables around creating a personal and catered experience. Will definitely be coming back!

What an amazing venue!?! Surprising quiet considering the quality of the food and phenomenal service. An absolute hidden gem!! We were there to celebrate a 40th birthday (the 2nd birthday meal out this month) and boy was I glad that this was the venue chosen!! We opted for the “All u can eat” menu option. There was a self service buffet for sides and sauces, then the serving staff continue to bring a selection of grilled and roasted meat on sticks to your table, carving it onto your plate until you ask them to stop. As the designated driver I couldn’t drink, but my friends enjoyed Pina Coladas at 2 for £18, I tried a sip, and “Bellisimo!!” This dining experience was a world apart from our last meal out in Plymouth (Barbican Steak house, please see my previous review😔). Despite the meat being roasted on a spit, they were able to serve us meat cooked to specification (rare/medium etc) The roasted pineapple was as tasty as I’ve had in other Brazilian establishments. However in those, they serve it throughout the main as a bit of a palate cleanser, which I preferred than just at the end. The staff were incredibly accommodating, even letting us bring our own cake and serving it with candles whilst singing happy birthday! Phenomenal team and mouth watering food!! I can’t wait to visit again soon🩷

Food was great I had no issues with the taste and quality 🙏🏽 Service/communication could’ve been better, I guess as it was quiet they stepped off the gas a bit and relaxed more Aside from that I loved the interior and the caipirinha was amazing 😮‍💨 I had a full rodizio and ordered 2 caipirinha’s

The best meat I have ever eaten in a restaurant. Also enjoyed the selection at the salad buffet. Lovely selections of drinks available, especially the cocktails. The grilled pineapple was also a lovely conclusion to the meal. A restaurant that I would absolutely recommend to anybody looking for something a bit different to your standard restaurant. 5 stars well earned.

We’re a family of 6 (4 Portuguese, 2 English), we went to Plymouth for the day and decided to try this restaurant as we were walking by. WOW. The food was amazing, Bruno (the owner) is extremely nice and friendly. The value for money is very reasonable for the amount of food that you are offered. Highly recommended, this was our first time there but it won’t be our last. 😁

Was a little dubious, as the reviews were mixed, but I can’t praise it enough. There was a good selection of sides to go with the beautifully cooked meats that came out just as you liked them, I.e medium, medium rare, etc. The staff couldn’t of been more attentive, not in an overbearing way, and nothing was too much trouble

I felt like we gate crashed someone else’s party! Booked a table but there was a party going on there! Music was loud, waitress couldn’t even hear each other! Service was awful, Let down to be honest! Wanted to like the place, but I’ll stick to Casa Brazil

Visited this restaurant tonight, nothing worse to describe than awful! The meat quality was cheap cuts of meat, no seasoning/marination at all just over cooked meat slapped with mint - chilli beef with no chilli at all. The drinks were flat and bland, the beer on draught was not very nice at all, pint of Lemonade was flat no bubbles and tasteless. Atmosphere for a Saturday night was boring. The restaurant itself needs a full refit as it’s dirty/dingy. £90 wasted for just over an hour for 2 people. Our stomachs are not very good, I think it’s going to be a rough night.

We visited Plymouth and looking at teh review decided to get lunch here - we had had no breakfast so we were hungry and arrived at 11.58 - 2 minutes early. This was no problem and we were met by a delightful, smiley lady who quickly found us a table - it was an amazing little cubby hole with pink lights above. Despite being early we were quickly given drinks and invited to go to the buffet - I have eaten Brazillian a few times before and maybe there wasn't the range one might find at a chain but all this was homemade and fresh - the real stars mashed sweet potato, black beans and the Chimichurri which was consumed in large amounts by our table. What followed next were 6 delicious meats and roasted pineapple (!), everything was great with the steak and minted lamb being our favourites, it was hot, plentiful and served with a smile. All the while lovely warm bread and delicious chips were added to our already burgeoning plates! Whilst there we got talking to the owner 'Bruno' what a great chap, we could sense his passion and enthusiasm and it really added to our experience My only complaint - you need to move to Exeter so we can come more often! Thank you we all really enjoyed it.

We've had a lovely lunch experience at this establishment. Meat was tasty and there was plenty of it. From the salad bar my personal favourite was garlic mushrooms - perfectly done. And remember to try the pineapple. It was simply amazing! We will definitely be coming back!

Meat is very good i recommend the mint lamb , everything seasoned perfectly and decoration is beautiful.Always a good time when i come here highly recommend if your a meat lover.

People would never do anything like me in not reading the comments before going 🫣, I leave here my opinion, about my frustration about this place, my rating is zero about this place, the food sucks, the meat is horrible, the chicken was raw and smelly I was spoiled, I was very sad about the situation I put my family in by choosing this place. I already recommend it to anyone And the manager didn't even want to see me to talk about the situation, I was very upset and paid the bill and we went to another decent place.

Everything was horrible, a buffet with very few options and bad food, tasteless rice, even the all-you-can-eat meats were bad, with no flavor! Money thrown in the trash! There's nothing about Brazilian food. The owner's service was terrible when.

Having read the reviews before trying the place, I was really apprehensive that the food was going to be either bland, overcooked or cold! None of which were true!! Maybe it’s because it was quiet.. we booked for half 12 on a Saturday…. But it really was an awesome meal!! People that complain about the buffet clearly don’t appreciate that’s a side to the main event of meat. People that complain about the meat probably have it cooked to death and then it would be chewy. And people that complain about there only being pineapple for desert, clearly can’t read a menu!! We loved it, meat was hot, tasty and fresh. The buffet had everything you would need to accompany the star items and the pineapple and cheesecake were Devine! We will be back again, fun concept, great food and randomly… really lovely loos!

Wish I new this existed earlier. Probably one of the best places to eat in Plymouth! Would definitely recommend foe meat lovers and even vegetarians. (Not sure about vegan sorry!) If you have any requests just ask and they will bring it no problem.

First time here and lovely food. Choose the buffet and selection of meats option, which is quite cheap for the sheer amount you can have. The only bad thing is very slow service on drinks. Had all the food come out but no drinks. Waited 20 minutes for every round of drinks to come. There was only 6 of us and at times only 2 would order drinks and still waited 20mins. Other than that fantastic experience.

Very definitely the worst Brazilian restaurant I have ever been to. I only gave it one star because the Portuguese waiter was really great. The buffet was stone cold and I had to listen to someone cussing, shouting and swearing while I was eating. I think he was associated with the staff but I can't be sure. So, if you want to spend £35 for cold food and to listen to someone shouting, swearing and carrying on please be my guest.

So firstly the meat in the Brazilian BBQ was good. Not excellent but very good. The buffet is awful, basically boiled potatoes, rice, salad and bits. Nothing really Brazilian if you get my drift. I've been to much better Brazilian BBQ in other cities, the decor hasn't really changed since it was the Ganges Indian restaurant. I would go again but on a week day when it's not 35 quid for the BBQ. Lovely food let down by dated decor and a limp cold buffet. Oh yeah and chips are extra.

Very nice authentic Brazilian rodizio

The worst Brazilian chirrascaria I've ever visited. My family and I went to lost in Rio to eat a typical Brazilian rodízio, at our table the meat only came 5 times, and after that someone came to our table to ask if we had finished, if we wanted pineapple or another meat to finish, I I asked for at least the ones we hadn't tried yet to come, we waited for 1 hour and the meats never came, I went to pay and they had the audacity to charge me 90 contos. Save your money and don't go to this restaurant. Sad salad buffet, beans without salt and loaded with garlic.

Just had dinner on a Tuesday evening and although it was quiet nothing was too much trouble and there was a huge selection of food being bought round. The owner was absolutely lovely and you can tell was passionate about his restaurant and the food he served.

Nothing special for the price (dinner) the 'starters' were average, the meats were admittedly tasty, but if you don't like warm pineapple for sweet, there's nothing else. Service was very good and staff friendly. Value for money, definitely not.

Visited here on a weekend away with my partner, the team where really nice and vert attentive, the food was tremendous and we think this is by far our favourite restaurant in Plymouth, we will be recommending and returning ourselves

My boyfriend and I went here today, absolutely delicious! The owner and his son were lovely and looked after us. CANNOT fault the food or hospitality. If you get the chance to eat here, you must do it!!!!xxx

Living in the south-west there are very few options to go to for an authentic taste of Brazilian food (aka home). Lost in Rio is the perfect spot to satisfy my homesickness. I cannot recommend the place more. Food is incredible (both buffet and the BBQ), drinks are well priced and delicious (try the caipirinha!!!) I've visited the restaurant a good number of times and am happy to go countless more

Group of 7 had to wait 30 min for started and another 30 for main . Food was not hot enough and we didn’t get a chance to eat together. Plates were delivered 1-2 at time . Food was bland and dry. Not up to standards . Restaurant was empty - always is. The only positive thing I can say is that decor was very pretty .

Staff were nice and trying their best but the quality of food was terrible, salad bar was made from cheap ingredients which were cooked badly. Even the rice was hard and crunchy. I never leave bad reviews but I feel I need to warn people not to spend their hard earned money here.

Went to Lost in Rio earlier and was absolutely disgusted in the quality. We got there and ordered the all you can eat buffet along side the all you can eat meat. The first round of meat took ages to come out so we went to get our sides from the buffet. There was no bread, about 4 garlic mushrooms, crunchy stale rice, scrapings of sweet potatoe (which was the best part of the whole experience in my opinion) and the rest isn’t even worth mentioning. We were asked how we liked our meat cooked and we said medium rare, but the question was pointless as all the meat came out overdone or tough as old boots. After we had been there for about 20 minutes we had accumulated a plate of food that we had called “the bin plate.” Eventually they restocked the buffet but the sweet potato was cold which caught me off guard and made me feel sick. Eventually we were served some pork belly which I took a bite of and had to spit onto the bin plate and then promptly left. All in all that was the worst dining experience I’ve ever had and I’ll never go back. I’m just hoping I don’t get sick. Total waste of money.

Great experience. Went there for a birthday meal. The staff were very accomindating, even put banners up and got a free drink after my meal. Food was very good, I walked out with a beef baby. Maybe take it easy. Diffinately have the pineapple.

During my recent trip to Plymouth, I found this wonderful spot! As someone learning Brazilian Portuguese, it was fun to try chatting. The food was delicious, especially the Feijoada! The place is nicely decorated and I bet it's lively on weekends. The staff were really friendly and helpful. We'll definitely be back!

We arrived expecting the options of either the buffet or the menu as shown on the website. We were told that only the buffet was available at £35.00 per head (not including drinks) not cheap, but we decided to go for it. We were disappointed. Excluding basic salad options, a couple of raw onion based dishes and part-baked baguette slices, there were only 7 choices for hot sides on the buffet: mashed sweet potato, new potatoes, creamy mushrooms, black lentils, sauerkraut, peas and boiled rice. No fresh veg, no wraps or alternative bread options. Whilst the lentils, mushrooms and new potatoes tasted good, they certainly could've been hotter. We enjoyed the novelty of the meat being brought to the table and carved and we were told it would be cooked to our preferences. 3 of our party wanted rare, 2 wanted medium rare. However, you got what you were given, there was no actual choice of how it was cooked. Some were definitely tasty but, as other reviews have said, we didn't always know what we were getting, it wasn't always made clear. We were able to return to the buffet as much as we like and the meat was brought round very regularly. The staff were generally friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, we all agreed that it wasn't worth the £35 per head.

The best meat (that everyone wishes to have - cap rump, sirloin etc.) took a lifetime to arrive and we actually had to ask for it. The lesser cuts (but no less tasty) came first e.g. minted lamb, sausage, gammon etc. I heard the place was a bit "hit and miss" and unfortunately on this special occasion, it was a miss. The staff were lovely, ambience great and such a friendly bunch of people. The food service, and service alone was lacking and disappointing. I will give it another go however.........

Never been in a restaurant like it. DJ at the front playing some great music, bar then the restaurant. The food was excellent. Never had meat cut like it was in front of us. Staff were very friendly and explained how it all works very well. Excellent value for money. Thanks.

Went for lunch with my daughter and it was lush. We are vegetarian and had the burgers which were very good and the buffet was as much as you like and also excellent. The icing on the cake was the roasted pineapple with cinnamon on, sliced at the table. We'll be back

We were a party of 7 and we have all come to the same conclusions simply awful. We had had the evening planned for a couple of months and were all looking forward to it. Some of the food was hot as it was cut for us at the table, the rest was cold and all of the food lacked quality. The beef cut were all gristley and sinewy. The meat that we had cut for us was extremely small samples on the sword meaning the portion we were given were minute. The chaps serving the meats were friendly, but the other servers were not interested, very inattentive and not interested in our experience. We were left drinkless for nearly 45 minutes before we had to ask for the waitress to be sent over. The salad bar well what a disappointment cold crunchy undercooked rice and bland other pickings. The only thing that had an abundance of flavour were the pickled onions and the salad vinegarette. The garlic mushrooms lacked a fundamental ingredient garlic, peppercorn sauce was watery and also tasteless. Lost in rio was the biggest disappointment I think I have had to date, we should have know by the quietness of the restaurant. The best part of our meal was easily the roasted pineapple. Even if it did look like we had the scraps at the end of the night. Moreover if you want a night of disappointment, poor quality food and pay way over the odds for it go to this eatery. Personally I'd AVOID THIS EATERY IN FUTURE.
