Under-staffed & poor organisational skills, especially surrounding the payment and which tables purchased what. Incredibly length wait time for food, despite pre-ordered off the menu prior to arrival. Then over charged by 5 pints of carlsberg which went unnoticed until we’d left the premises and driven back to Cornwall. Woefully disappointing in regards to cooking the steaks to specification, and disorganised table service. For instance, the sauces were served after the steaks were consumed and then still charged for. :( Below is review I left on Google reviews Absolutely fantastic and friendly serving staff, who were clearly overwhelmed by our large party. The food was probably the worst we’d eaten in a long while. Our group was 26 adults, which the serving staff split into groups of 6 to make it easier to organise the checks. We pre-ordered and confirmed orders upon arrival at 6.30pm for a 7pm booking. I was unfortunately one of the last to be served at approximately 8.30pm, having ordered just a starter of mussels to eat as a main which I decided to have a pint of coke with. My starter was well presented and the sauce the mussels were in was very tasty and flavoursome, however everybody had had ordered beef steak (in whichever cut) complained that it was over cooked, but having already waited so long, couldn’t be dealing with sending it back. Sauces (costing £2.95 per portion) were served after the individual had finished their meal in 4 instances. We were still charged for them. Being the designated driver, and sober, I offered to use my bank card to pay and let my allotted group of 6 reimburse me (in an attempt to ease the wait staffs job). I have worked in hospitality for over 14 years, so truly understand the pressure. Unfortunately though, due to the terrible organisational skills, and our rush to depart (the delayed meal meant that we were late for our next destination), I did not realise until after we’d left that I had been over charged by 5x carlsbergs. So a starter portion of mussels and a large coke, took over 90 minutes to be served and I am out of pocket an additional £27.50, meant that I paid £41.50 to eat 7 mussels and drink 1 lrg cola!!! :( I also got to listen to all of my 25 friends except 1 (she said her lamb was lovely), complain and moan about how badly cooked their food was, but we simply did not have the time to complain after the ridiculously long wait time. As I said before, the serving staff were very friendly & even if one was insistent on telling every female there that he was single, we took it as friendly banter, rather than creepy/inappropiate. Overall I would definitely not recommend spending you time or money visiting this “steak house”. I’ve seen more appetising steaks cooked in pubs, served quicker, with far more accurate tab keeping. Having driven 38 miles to attend this venue, I certainly won’t be doing so again. Food: 1/5 | Service: 3/5 | Atmosphere: 4/5 If you do not have the staff or facilities for large bookings, please do not take them. It ruins the customer experience, and makes the staffs shift barely manageable.

Hi just been for even meal and was great my brother had the farm yard and he can eat but only just forced it down. I had the ribs combo and was lovely recommend 👌👌

We were really struggling where to take out our son for his birthday then found this restaurant on line, excellent food, all cooked to perfection, very friendly and quick service. Would definitely recommend this restaurant 😁

I recently dined at Barbican Steakhouse and ordered the Vulcan Fury. It was absolutely delicious! My dining companions ordered the Slow Cooked Pork Belly and were equally impressed. Highly recommend!

No. Expensive average. We had 3 different steaks with 3 people. My wife's fillet steak was not medium rare, but completely well done. My rump steak was riddled with tendon, about 1/3 was inedible. Our companion's rump steak was also completely well done. We wouldn't go here again. However, the slim, tall, good-looking waitress does her job well. She takes great care of her long hair and looks at herself. There is not so much time for service.

We arrived on time and were just about the first to order . The next table came out and then three other tables with at least six people on one. We asked where are order was and was told it will be soon so after an hour we left . We waited way to long and was told the steaks take a long time to cook being that they are bigger than normal. As a restaurant I would expect the service to be more efficient and at least be told the meal would take a while to be cooked. As we were left watching everyone else being served this was very frustrating.

Not a place I would rush back to .

Steak was good and tasty overall, bit gristly in the middle on one of the rumps. Great sized portions. Very impressive slice of cheesecake - biggest I’ve ever had. The only fault for me was the bbq ribs sauce wasn’t thicker/richer in flavour. All in all I would highly recommend and great service all round.

Sadly very mediocre. For the price we paid, at a steakhouse, I would have expected a really nice steak. Unfortunately it was very average and my cut was quite fatty. We also had to send one of our dishes back as there was hair in the salad. For nearly £100 for two of us, I won't be able to recommend this and certainly wouldn't be rushing back.

Decided to to go there for my dad's 60th last night with family and friends. Lovely helpful staff. Ordered a 30oz t-bone steak medium rare. Honest cooked to perfection and probably the best steak I've ever had

Booked for my hubby's 60th and was certainly not disappointed. Everything was top-notch service staff. Very friendly attentive food excellent will most certainly use again

Lovely cooked steak, highly recommended

The food is great, with massive portions for a pretty good price. I had the "farm yard", and it was more than enough (and I can eat!). The only reason I've marked them down is we had to wait quite a while for our food, which may have been because they were quite busy (we were still able to book a table for 3 on a Friday evening with only an hour's notice mind), but otherwise it was a great evening meal.

The steak was great the only thing that let this down was the cheap mustard 😢 it was like the sweet American hotdog mustard not Coleman’s English.

5 stars for food. 5 stars for service. 5 stars for atmosphere. Food was exemplary. Cooked to perfection and easy on the eye. Treated myself to a 16oz ribeye and a half rack of ribs. Ribeye was top class, cooked to perfection and melted in my mouth as I chewed. By far the best steak in Plymouth! Will be back!

Last minute choice, and a great choice. Great food, great price and great service. We both had chicken dishes, can not comment on steaks.

Went for a family b'day, pre-booked table of 6, drinks ordered in good time, although there were no non alcoholic beers etc and the soft drinks were limited. Ordered the chicken tenders for starter with garlic mayo which were delicious and a good portion. Farmyard mixed grill for main with 30oz of meat, with a stilton sauce which was rich and creamy. the Farmyard really should be served on a hot plate from plate warmer cabinet as the food was pretty much cold half way through the meal, the portion size was great for the price, but not the best cut of steak and the lamb chop had virtually no meat on it. Table they sat us on with a bit cramped between the drinks fridge and long table near front door, we had to ask waiters to move the table a few times as we were just being bumped about and everytime someone went out for a ciggy the door was left open and being that it was a cold night we were having to constantly ask the waiters to close the door. The place seems very popular and had a real buzz to it but u could probably do with taking away one table of 2 to create a more open and relaxed space for everyone and get an auto door closer on entrance door. Waiters were all friendly and helpful.

We popped in on a Saturday evening around 5.15, we hadnt booked, but they managed to find us a table and fit us in. Are we glad they did! The food, service and price (for what we had) was just fantastic. My wife had the 10oz rump, with chips and salad, I had the 12oz Ribeye, with chips, mushrooms, peas and tomato.... wow, cooked to perfection and served promptly. Thank you so very much for being so accommodating! 5 stars plus!

Booked this restaurant on the back of good reviews. Despite staff efforts, door constantly open with smoke floating in, made for an unpleasant and chilly dining experience. White wine not chilled, had to ask for ice and quality of food really disappointing especially considering the higher end price. For balance the staff were attentive and didn’t quibble about refunds for 2 cold meals.

First time eating here but certainly won’t be the last, it’s a great place with friendly staff and fabulous food and desserts. The meals are massive and cooked perfectly. A great find we will be going back to for all our family get togethers.

Went here for a family get together. Food was very good with no complaints or changes made by all the party which is a good sign. Portions are very large and the food seems great quality. Steaks are just amazing here with a large selection of cuts and sizes to meet your tastes. Deserts were very good also. For a large party the food came quickly and the serving staff were very polite and welcoming and were happy to help when we gave requests. Only reason this is not 5 star, it was completely out of the staffs control but during our meal we had multiple drunk people hit/knock the window directly behind where we were sitting which was intimidating to those with their back to the window. Great place, recommend this for a great evening meal.

Absolutely fantastic steak, went on Saturday 20th January with my mum and I attempted the 60oz and I only managed to polish off 50oz of it. Mum had a lamb and she enjoyed it too.

Had a very nice meal here, steak was out of this world. I would like to send special recognition to our waiter Dion. Such a friendly young man, made us feel extremely welcome and nothing was too much trouble.

Food was ok the steak was ok but the ribs were a big no from me they were like out of a packet

Warm friendly service and good sized portions. However, food overcooked and oversalted. Muscles were like rubber balls and meats on mixed grill were dry and hard to cut.

Cant fault the staff for their efforts, and to be fair as far as steak goes it not terrible but as a whole i would not recommend all the add ons where pretty poor and for the price, chips where very poor vegetables seemed like tinned and don't get me started with started with rack of ribs, when visiting steak house you expect fresh ribs cooked for you not microwaveable ones from a plastic bag charging 10x the price they will of bin bought for. So for friendly staff and overpriced mediocre food i would recommend this place if not than trial elsewhere as i will not be revisiting.

Quiet stake house on a Saturday evening. Opened late. Staff was welcoming, clean facilities, food average. Not bad, but not great.

For a birthday treat to my husband we booked here as he loves 🥩. He had a mixed grill which came out on a massive platter which he loved the mushrooms were amazing. I in the other hand had kickin chicken which was served with 🍚( majorly over cooked more like pudding rice.) salad nice and the chicken was as tough as old boots. I are the salad and peppers but couldn’t tolerate the chicken or rice so gave it back and said I wouldn’t eat it. We were given money off or not charged for mine I can’t remember. Service was really good but I wouldn’t go again.

Meat not rested, gat not rendered, packets of salt and peper not real sea salt or rock salt. Service took 70 mins for food to arrive at table even though it was not busy.

Booked this restaurant for a group of seven for a seventeenth birthday celebration. Wish we had come here years ago. Amazing food and huge portions . Three guys ordered the Farmhouse platter which a picture of us included. Great restaurant and the two waiters for friendly and professional with a lovely personal touch of birthday brownie for my daughter. Well done again for making a fantastic birthday treat .

Thank you to the guys who made my nephews 21st birthday so special last night. As a freelance head chef I was just so thankful to all that made the evening so special. Food great, service just fantastic . We will all be retuning. The guy who served us made a real effort with group photos and my 1p year old nephew earing a monster burger that was presented perfectly. Thanks guys, steak was cooked just right too. Wow, what a little gem this place is!! came here for the 60oz steak and wasn't disappointed with what turned up. the staff were friendly and very attentive, they had a rather noisy table just behind us and after a while asked us if we'd like to sit somewhere else as we could hear each other! Definitely recommend this place and we'll be back!!

Really great service and the food is always excellent

Decided to give this one last chance after a couple of negative experiences BC ( before Covid) ordered half a calf. Cut of meat very poor, couldn’t eat half of it because of the fat. Cooked perfectly however, but just a bad cut of meat. Also, bill was £80, so not best pleased and won’t be returning.

Want an amazing find, mange to get table on Saturday, I order T bone my had 16oz the steaks were cooked to perfection, amazing service great atmosphere and reasonably priced my new regular place to go to say the least

Dirty toilets, staff had to ask about the order 3 times, salt and vinegar came in sachets!!! Service was slow and my steak was cold and not good quality. NEVER again

its absolutly amazing i recomend if you have a big appetite the staff are so friendly , food was amazing , a welldone steak melts in your mouth , the T bone mediam rare is to die for , as soon as you put it into your mouth it melts , the ribs are stunning , not to much sauce and it falls off the bone , its a long wait but its deserved the staff ask if every thing is okay and they are so kind and talkative its an amazing place the salad is fresh and refreshing 100% recomend its beautiful the tables arent sticking its so clean

Service was great but for the food it tasted fine but spent all night in the bathroom with really bad stomach sorry guys not sure what caused it but I wasn't the only one from our party that had a bad stomach. Try changing the oil in your fryers might help. Will never go back.

Went there for dinner and had a fantastic meal. The ribeye steak was brilliant and someone else had the lamb which they loved.

Called in earlier this evening with my daughter who is studying in plymouth so travelled from the north east and had one of the best steaks I've had in years. Definitely worth the journey . Staff were brilliant. So glad she's here for the next 3yrs as it'll be my /our go to place. Highly recommend it. Food .Fantastic. Staff . Fantastic. Music. Fantastic.

Went here for the 2nd time as part of a works crimbo thing, booked in for 1900 seated then not served for about 20 minutes even though they had our orders. It was Decemeber but it was as cold as the North Pole! No heating at all which everybody noticed and that kind of ruined the meal for a lot of us as I shivered all through the meal then as soon as I'd finished I put my large coat on and sat wearing that, couldn't wait to leave to head to a place that had heating.

Absolutely amazing food. My steak melted in my mouth 😋 The dressed salad was fresh, crisp and delicious. The chips were perfect, crispy on the outside and fluffy in the middle. The Chocolate Sundae was to die for!! A special Thank you for allowing me to bring my own non-alcoholic Cider with me as I am unable to drink Alcohol. A wonderful experience. Definitely to be repeated. Loved every moment xx

Enjoyed a nice meal here, very quiet though so atmosphere a little flat. Can't complain about the food, steak and ribs nicely cooked, they do however charge an extra £2.50 for hand-cut chips, as opposed to standard chips, which I thought was a bit cheeky. Bottle of red reasonable priced and not bad at all.

Had a loverly Birthday meal here. I had the TBone & partner had the smothered fillet. Very tasty & cooked well to our tastes. Will definitely be going back. Very good service also.

Staff were great however the duck was so tough we couldn't even use a knife or fork to break it apart really for the price you pay you expect fresh cooked this was clearly microwaved or maybe even old cooked wasn't great at all and wouldn't go back.. **update sent manager a message as asked in his reply yet heard nothing back**
