L'oscar Restaurant in Camden

Outstanding service and food. We went to L’oscar restaurant for my birthday, we received a complimentary portion of prawns, some sourdough bread and butter and smoked salmon as starters, from the chef and they were all delicious and fresh. For main we had steak to share for 2 which was stunning. For dessert we had sticky toffee pudding which was not my favourite. Very nice place with friendly and professional staff.

We have been to this restaurant several times now and it went from quite good to very good and it seems to keep improving. The service we had on our most recent visit was warm and professional. The food was delicious. The truffle rigatoni and the lamb main courses are fantastic. The children’s menu is also good. The restaurant is expensive but at least you get a good quality meal here.

Had lunch at L'Oscar this past weekend and here are my thoughts: Service is beyond excellent. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. Ambiance is beautiful and the restaurant is super clean and modern. I loved all the Lalique touches. Definitely make a reservation because it was busy on a Sunday afternoon. Food itself is solid. We had a caesar salad with chicken, a mezze plate, a burger/fries, and tea and scones. Everything was pretty delicious. This place is expensive but it was worth the splurge. We'll likely return.

Decor beautiful, cocktails wonderful, staff fantastic All in a historical and sympathetically restored building. Had a couple of expertly made cocktails the bar. Delicious Exquisite as a 5 star hotel should be but still relaxed enough to feel at ease.

Lovely venue and really good food and wine. We enjoyed the Crudos to start, and then I had the sea bass which was excellent. Great service from Alex, who advised us on wine and let us have a tasting to choose. Unhurried atmosphere and all round a relaxed and memorable evening.

Having been to a few London restaurants recently where the noise level was unbearable it was a relief to have lunch at l’Oscar. Beautiful ambience. Relaxed atmosphere. Excellent service. My Bloody Mary was exactly as it should be My mushroom consommé was excellent though could have been hotter. We could have shared the fish and chips as the serving was extremely generous . Nest time we will as we shall be back.

We had a wonderful anniversary dinner on Sunday evening. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, really well thought out, cosy and romantic. The food was delicious, the portion sizes were very generous and the service was absolutely fantastic! Everything was perfect, we really couldn't fault a thing.

We had to wait a long time to be seated despite having booked, and whilst they were busy with two larger parties, it felt like we were an afterthought. When we finally sat down, we weren’t in the main restaurant and were on some low, uncomfortable sofas around a small table in a separate dark and dingy room. The bread we were brought was very dry. My starter of steak tartare was disappointing as it was very stringy - not something you want with raw food. My main of sea-bream was tasty, with the sides also very nice. We were so tired by the end of our pro-longed evening that we did not stay for dessert. Overall, quite disappointing.

High tea was an absolutely brilliant experience. Savory and sweet scones, clotted cream, finger sandwiches - beyond delicious. Such care, such gourmet preparations. The Persian Rose tea was out of this world. I never wanted to leave!

Great food at the very last minute! Had Doctor’s order cocktail, chicken caesar salad and penne!! Great food! Loved customer service & food! Did not like music!! Need nicer loungy music for such an upscale restaurant!! But still food was great!!

Stunning! The decor and ambience is gorgeous. We went as a large group for their high tea and the service was spectacular. The variety of tea was delicious as were the accompanied tea sandwiches, scones and desserts. Definitely worth a visit.

This venue is AMAZING! The staff were excellent and the food was the most delicious I have tasted. Will definitely return

I wish I could give more than 5 stars, it deserves at least double that. This hotel is stunning in every way! So much history, so many stories, and so much thought and detail in every part of the building. The hosts & staff are faultless. The food is unbelievable. The rooms are exquisite. Don't even think twice about going here for coffee / dinner / a nights stay or anything in between. You wont be disappointed.

I cannot recommend highly enough! The food and ambience were exceptional - but the team made it for us! The service was the best I've experienced, particularly our waiter Joao who took such good care of us. I have some food intolerances and every dish was adapted to suit my needs. Everything was wonderful from start t finish, really looking forward to my next visit!

Afternoon Tea. We went as a party of 5 as a birthday treat. On the positive side of things the decor was opulent and glamorous which is why we wanted to visit and the cakes were lovely and decorated exquisitely. However there were various negatives which meant the experience wasn’t up to our expectation. We were served afternoon tea on plates rather than the tower which other diners were served, this cheapened the experience. Additionally the Tea was served after food was served. There was never any offer of additional sandwiches/cakes or tea which for the price seemed very stingy. One of our party had to ask for another tea which eventually arrived. There was no explain of the vegan selection and no vegan butter/cream provided with the scones, again this needed to be requested. Our candles weren’t lit unlike other tables. It felt almost like our custom wasn’t really welcomed. Disappointed overall.
