Fantastic local bistro. Highly recommend. Great food, service, and atmosphere.

Live music and atmosphere is great!

The evening was fantastic! We enjoyed some really refined wines that perfectly complemented the delicious dishes. The service was top-notch too, truly a nice experience! I really liked it!

Lovely people and a great environment but the food simply isn’t very good. We were three people and so we tasted a few things. Very bland salad items, poorly cooked fish (frozen I would guess) and tasteless soup. I will always support local!

Very nice place, with a relaxed and warm atmosphere, very friendly staff. The decoration is extra dense with copper pots on the ceiling, old musical instruments, old photos, a Mucha table,...the draft beer is amazing...nothing to do with Guiness, that's Czech! We haven't tested the catering, next time I promise!

Had a sunday roast here couple if months ago and was amazing (my first sunday roast I must add) ! Nice people, nice atmosphere. Thank you

Fantastic little cosy venue with live gigs!

Used to be excellent but since it was sold several of the more experienced front of house team have left and as a result the quality of service has dropped dramatically. The food portions are noticably smaller and some ingredients/items are not as described or are missing, for example the lamb cutletts with peas, new potatoes and fetta does not have the fetta. The Sunday roasts which were excellent are no longer a regular item. Also watch out for service charges if you are standing drinking at the bar, there have been a few incidents where a service charge has been applied, that was never the case previously.

Why on the coldest lunchtime in November was the heating switched off? Shocking no heating staff had no idea how to switch it on lots of cold customers! Not good

Delight in their diverse menu, made even richer by the diversity of their excellent and accommodating service.

Great place for one of those midweek night outs that you want to have with few friends discuss over a glass (or a bottle more accurately) of wine. The personnel is very warm and friendly! Their wine variety is great as well.

Big let down, food was terrible. Starters o.k but main course abysmal. We had roast lamb and it was disgusting, cold and tough, roast potatoes were raw as was the Yorkshire pudding. The staff were too busy playing with a dog and the head waitress was having a massage at the counter and ignoring us completely. We definitely WILL NOT be back for food.

It's my favorite place to have a snack or a drink with an old friend when I go to London to see him. Wonderful atmosphere, good wine and beers and very friendly staff. I love The Arches

Poor draught lager and overpriced poor food.

Previous owners were amazing hospitable people pre pandemic. It is now owned by a witch and the food 🥘 has gone downhill. Please, Please do not go here til the previous owner comes back or they sell to someone who respects the heritage of the local place and community 🙏🏽

'Little local places' used to be the norm in inner north-west London, but that was then and this is now. Fortunate, then, that The Arches is a blast from that blessed past. Cramped, a world of small, intimate, spaces, relieved by the option of eating outside at pavement tables. Prices are reasonable, the welcome is both warm and genuine, the shortish, changing, menu is just what you'd want from a local bistro and the wines are reliable and well-kept. Check it out, but don't tell too many friends - I want to be sure of a table!

Had breakfast of eggs and bacon very good cooked just how we liked it . Will come back next time for 🍷 .

Wonderful wine bar - especially enjoyed the primitivo and white Rioja. Great vibes and fun interior, very cosy.

Cosy place, but rather rude service. Told by one staff member who came across rather annoyed at us that we weren't allowed to sit downstairs even though other staff members saw us and were quite happy for us to be there. She turned the light off then on again as it to prove some point that she was 'lighting up' 🤣 Slightly bonkers.

Een kleine gezellige intieme locatie om met vrienden af te spreken. Voor een biertje op de stoep of een gewoon lekkere maaltijd met een goede fles wijn met aandacht van een kundige keuken en vriendelijke attente gastvrouwen. Waar je niet moet vergeten om eens goed te kijken naar de verzameling om je heen.

If it ain't broke don't fix it. Been dropping in and out of here since the mid 80s, They got it so right then & they still do today. You can't say that about too many places these days

Looved this place, stopped for a cheeky dessert and snifter after dinner somewhere else and wow what a place. Service brill, desserts brill...we had tarte tartin & a tiramisu both served with an oreo ice cream. Place was so cool, vibey and cosy. Other people's food looked so good, will def be back for dinner and the brunch looks good too

well it's my local drinking spot, I grow more fond of it each time set foot there! it's a civilized cozy little restaurant /bar with a back lean-to conservatory in which smoking is allowed, a plus, for smokers like myself. it also contains external, canopy covered seating at the front entrance, and extra room downstairs. it reminds me of a country village pub, friendly attractive staff as well as fine intelligent, warm customers for company. difficult to stay away, lovely.

We needed something near someone and this was chosen for us. Absolutely LOVED the decor and atmosphere! Reminded us of the Meville restaurants back home. Quaint and charming. My platter, however, was a huge let down. The fried haloumi was greasy and inedible, the falafel bland and not tasting like falafel should. So for my handsome 12 GBP, all I had was the hummous, pita bread and cornichons. Very sad, because it held so much promise, based on the staff and the looks.

We were literally staying round the corner and found this place by chance. What a find so good we went back the following night. The menu is simple and neat with plenty to choose from. The food on both nites was great and service 100+% with lovely staff who paid attention to you all the time. The place is a myriad of items collected over yrs and a nice place to sit outside to with ambient music in the background. G8 place please visit as its really worth it

They charge a service charge on your bill slow at serving I wanted something and staff were up dancing would not recommend

A true gem in the neighbourhood. We went on a Wednesday evening for drinks. The combination of live music and quirky decor made for a phenomenal atmosphere. To top it off they also have a wide selection of wines at very reasonable prices served by friendly and knowledgeable bartenders.

The restaurant looks to be everything you would want for a small local eatery. It is very homely and inviting. The staff are attentive. However, the food is very disappointing. Such a shame!

Fantastic wine and food. Loved it.

Great atmosphere, delicious food and the staff is so warm and lovely. I spent a few hours there catching up with an old friend over a bottle of wine and a few small dishes. We lost track of time and never once were we rushed, pressured or made to feel we were taking too long - which is extremely rare in London these days. We’ll be back for sure x

Truly a little gem in this neighbourhood. I stopped by on the way home one day, having just moved to London. It was one of my most memorable times in the UK so far. Nona the bartender was so charming and conversational. Then the locals trickled in and the conversation flowed like we were friends for years. Truly something special. The decor is really unique. Trinkets and stained glass all over the place. And then downstairs...well it was empty in the late afternoon, but what a retro vibe. Really interesting place. Highly recommend. I might go there right now actually.

Extensive wine list, but not much seemed available on the evening we went in. Pleasant service and nice outdoor seating.

Food is ok but the place is very difficult for disabled people,too many steps to find the toilet and not much space to walk in...

Fantastic place and huge wine list, but not really suitable for going with someone who’d prefer beer. Only tiny ones in bottles - none in tap. The food isn’t that great, but in this place it somehow doesn’t bother me because the atmosphere more than makes up for it. It’s not for the food you go.

Warm, smiley and not overbearing welcome in this nice, quiet and cosy wine bar. I had the tortellini bolognese pasta and it was absolutely lovely. Nice area off Finchley Road. I’ll definitely recommend and visit again. Pity for once I didn’t take a picture of my meal🤦🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️.

it's not far from where we live, but had no idea that this lovely wine bar existed till yesterday. our son suggested that why don't we try this wine bar. so we went there yesterday evening and were not disappointed at all. they have a huge selection of wines and Andrea was very helpful while choosing what to drink. we had a wonderful time and will visit again soon. thank you Andrea and Sandra.

Good food, great wine, friendly service, and very unique style

I recently moved round the corner from this place which makes me so happy! I’m a sucker for old french vibes and this place is DELIVERING. First time we went I had seafood spaghetti and my partner had a burger... both were great and I was really surprised at how well priced it was. We came a few days later and shared a charcuterie board, it was VERY basic and I’d probably not go for it again but it hit the spot. For my main I had a pan-fried cod fillet... fantastic! The fish was perfectly cooked. Service is smiley and laid back, very nice relaxing atmosphere. We normally sit on the patio but I imagine it will be absolutely gorgeous during the winter months. No real negatives to say about the place. Can’t wait to go back!

Love the Arches. Atmosphere is great and staff are friendly. Food is well priced, though can be hit and miss. Best banoffee pie I've ever had. My fiancé had the burger.. it was pretty plain and didn't come with a bun! He was disappointed and wouldn't have ordered it if he'd known. There's live music there on a Wednesday. Cosy and convenient.

Very busy commuter pub under the arches by Waterloo. Very loud, so don't come here for a quiet conversation. Rotating barrels on tap with some ciders. Great for a quick one before the commute home.

Great little wine bar, serving delicious food. The only thing that stops this from being amazing is that there's possibly one table too many squeezed into the small space, which can make it feel a little claustrophobic, nor somewhere where you can have a private conversation.

After an attempt to get a gluten free Sunday roast at another nearby place (where I was told the potatoes AND vegetables contained gluten) I was happy to find this place... After the earlier experience I thought I'd better ask if they bought in their potatoes & if they were coated with flour. 'No' I was told. They are fresh potatoes, freshly prepared... and the vegetables? The same... So I relaxed at one of the outside tables with a glass of Pinot Noir while the dish was prepared. I'm so glad I tried this place. The potion of lamb was generous, tender, and beautifully cooked. The vegetables were perfect, & the potatoes were fine (I would have preferred them slightly more roasted but they tasted fine)... The price was about £4 to £5 more than a couple of other places I looked at but the food was fresh and I think better. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the road The Arches is situated in is peaceful and quite pleasant... Inside the Arches looks interesting - photo attached. I will certainly go there again.. It's about ten minutes walk from Swiss Cottage and a 31 bus passes by.

Stopped in this cute little wine bar for pre dinner drinks on sunny August Sunday. Great selection of wines, lovely service reasonablely priced. The place is very atmospheric and works perfectly for drinks with friends or a romantic evening à deux

This is another Little Bay.....a quaint, loaded with homely charm unique venue that oozes with potential for intimacy. A bit tight, but as a place for a romantic dinner for two....perfect. Just bet it is packed come Valentine's Night. The place for marriage proposals and romantic anniversaries.

My husband and I stopped in here for a glass of wine one evening during our visit to London. This place has a great atmosphere and a good selection of wines.

Lovely little local wine bar with some great (and dangerously drinkable) house wines, knowledgeable staff and a great atmosphere. There's live music most Wednesday's as well. Food is middling fare but you're here for the atmosphere so just lap it up and order another bottle of the house malbec....

Llegamos antes de que se sirviera la comida, pero nos dieron una cálida bienvenida y nos permitieron sentarnos en los asientos reservados para los comensales posteriores. La comida era deliciosa, una buena elección en el menú y el servicio muy bueno. Comí langostinos y mi compañero comió el bistec. No nos sentimos apurados y eso realmente hace un cambio en Londres. Es un poco fuera de nuestro camino a casa desde Londres a Chorleywood, pero valió la pena detenerse. Así que me alegro de haber decidido comer aquí en lugar de en el centro de Londres. ¡Definitivamente regresaremos!

Comforting food, amazing wine list and great service.

Came here our first day in London right after transatlantic flight, for late lunch. We had the festive menu in late December. Turkey with various fixings, including stuffing and roast potatoes. I loved it! Every morsel was delicious. Lots of attention from wait staff. They were a little cavalier about allergies; my daughter has serious nut allergies and we had to ask the waiter about each new thing he put before us instead of him vetting the items ahead of time. Not that unusual in Europe where allergies seem to be less of a thing. Eventually he was replaced by a new waitress who took better care of us in that department. The hotel has a wonderful atmosphere. I was sorry to see they've had trouble with the food safety rating, but we were totally fine and had no problems with wha we ate there. Would love to stay here someday.

Este es un Wine Bar bien establecido y ha sido popular y divertido para visitar durante muchos años. Lamentablemente, el equipo de Clasificación de Higiene de los Alimentos le ha dado un cero a The Arches. Nosotros, sin duda, no comeríamos allí hasta que esto haya sido corregido. Aparentemente, la inspección realizada en julio pasado indicó que se requerían mejoras importantes y urgentes tanto para la seguridad de los alimentos como para la manipulación. Que decepcion.
