Great food, great service and a lively collection of Timothy Taylor beers. The manager was really helpful in explaining the beers and offering a paddle to try three one third of a pint. The menu also linked appropriate beers with each meal!

To give it it’s rightful name now but for all us old Keighlians will for evermore be known as The Rodney. Now that Taylor’s brewery have reclaimed it from what ever failing chain brand who sent it into a downward spiral it’s actually a pub I feel happy to frequent again. The introduction of the small plates section to the menu is welcome as they are really tasty whilst at the same time providing the extra bonus of being good value for money. Only downside is it does not stock Gordon’s gin!!

Out with the old and in with the new. What an amazing place, staff, food and drinks. The Lord Rodney closed in July, with its owner - the Keighley brewery Timothy Taylor's - announcing plans for a major revamp. At a cost of £300,000 the venue has had a new bar, toilets, branding and decoration along with a revamped heated outside seating area. The Lord Rodney is now the new Taylors on the Green. Taylor’s on the Green. It is the new Keighley-based tap room and kitchen from Timothy Taylor’s brewery. Combining delicious food with Taylor’s wide range of award-winning ales, as well as an onsite brewery shop.

Perfect place to come if you want cold food, a cold room and cold service. Extremely quiet on a Sunday lunchtime and even then we waited for service, waited for our food and when we ordered dessert and one was missing, it was made very clear to us by the staff that it was our mistake and not theirs. Definitely not recommended and definitely not coming back again. Can see why it's so quiet.

Main course of 4 turkey dinners perfect. Christmas pudding for dessert 👍. We were them asked if we would like to take cheese board home as a lot of people full. We had ours at table. 3 big wedges of various cheese. Staff great as ever

Booked a family meal for xmas day, absolutely terrible experience. Paid £60 per person, terrible food and poor service. Had been given option of tomato pr broccoli soup, then to be all served Broccoli soup and told tomato wasnt an option! No good if you dont loke Broccoli or Stilton is it! Starters, I had Brie which resembled cheap frozen wedges that you can buy from a supermarket, with a bit of cranberry sauce and just lettuce as a garnish, no other salad such as tomato or cucumber etc. Roast Turkey dinner was dreadful, bit of Turkey with hard dry overcooked roast potatoes, dry hars stuffing and watery thin gravy which the waitress kept spilling all over! Dish if cold bland veg. Only thing that was OK was mash and pigs in blankets. Desserts OK, resembled bought in cheap ones, Aldis own xmas pud and sticky toffee pud is nicer! To finish cheese board which we were asked of we wanted boxed to take home, we chose to have it now, one board for 8 of us to share! No side plates, knives or butter, had to ask! We finially finished 3 and half hours later! Terrible food and poor service and not even worth half of what they charged! If they had any decency they would be contacting customers to offer some sort of refund! Shame on The Lord Rodney.

Ordered the steak and ale pie. The filling was in a very small bowl with a shop bought wafer thin pastry top! Pastry is easy to make and would have made such a difference if it had been homemade. Sat and waited 10 mins for the waitress to return with the gravy to accompany my order. Not value for money. We will not be returning for food.

Me and my girlfriend went for the bottomless brunch and were met by friendly staff. We sat at our table with our requested drinks and not even 5 minutes later the food was brought out to us. The food was cooked perfectly. The set menu is spot on for the whole bottomless brunch idea. Also, it’s important to mention how attentive the staff were! Thought I would take a visit to the Lord Rodney wish I hadn’t now. Food was mediocre with a very reduced menu, the website needs to be updated with this information, choice of only 2 starters. Staff need to create a better ambiance as they were so loud, using unacceptable language! Group of chavvy kids arrive obviously all with false ID,as not one of them looked old enough to be drinking. This was supposedly one of keighley s better places to dine,it’s now like any other pub that find it acceptable to let under age drinking occur. Avoid at all costs and take a trip a few miles up the road to Haworth.

Monday night. 12/8/19. I understand the place has had a very recent management change. My issue is not with them as they were clearly absent from the bar. I met a friend for a couple of nightcaps at 10pm. I was half way down my 2nd pint at exactly 10.48 when suddenly all the lights were switched on. I interpreted that as potentially last orders so we got a last drink from the young woman who appeared to be working alone. She said, 'We are closing at eleven, is that okay?'....We assumed, as advertised, that last orders was 11pm and we would be permitted 10 minutes drinking up time. Served at 10.50pm, music went off at 10.52pm and the woman at the bar began heavily counting £1 coins into the till tray. So sold a pint at £3.40 at 10.50pm & subliminally told to 'jeff off' two minutes later. We felt so unwelcome we forced down our drinks over 5 minutes and left. I'm sure she had somewhere else to go and we were more than a mild inconvenience, however, as patrons, we had gone to the Rodney for somewhere to meet and relax. Perhaps the place, like the old Ferrands in Bingley, sees only value in it's weekend trade. We all know what happened to that establishment. For the first time in over 30 years of drinking real ale (primarily Taylor's Landlord), I didn't return my glasses to the bar or wish the staff goodnight and thank you. Worryingly, this pub is a retained by Timothy Taylors. It gets harder and harder to find a place where I can enjoy my lifelong favourite tipple within a civilised and welcoming environment. We will not return.

I went here with my son as always, the place was busy and has a nice atmosphere, we only had to wait a short while for a table, and shortly after being seated we were given the menu and my son got given a colouring pack. We had cheesy garlic bread for starter which was nice but very greasy. My son had a pizza from the kids menu for his main and complained about how small it was. But said that it tasted loverly. I ordered the hunters chicken and asked them to go easy on the sauce. The chicken was smothered in sauce and cheese with a slice of bacon thrown on with reckless abandon. It also came with chips which were supposed to be made fresh in house. They were dry wrinkly and massively brused, if these were fresh it wasn't today, in fact they had the consistency of cheap frozen chips that were massively over seasoned to the point of being inedible even to my non to picky son. There was also a serving of onion rings 2, a tomato and a mushroom that had soo much salt on it it made me retch. For dessert we both had ice cream, what can you say it wasn't anything special but it wasn't offensive either. As far as price goes it wasn't the most expensive or the cheapest, but was it worth it, the kids meal is God value, and if you find a discount that suits you then yes I'd say it is, but I can say that we won't be coming back.

It is not a restaurant. However, do not let that put you off especially if you are in town at lunchtime. You will struggle to find anywhere as good. As a local, I have visited the Lord Rodney many times and have always had pleasant experiences. However, my last visit has dampened the reputation of the place and will make me think twice about returning. All the food we had was very tasty and could not be faulted. It is a great shame that the service let this lovely pub down. We ate our meals and was not asked once if everything was okay which isn't a huge deal as everything was fine with our food. However, we had to get up and ask for a jug of tap water despite the fact the pub was quiet for a Saturday evening. After finishing our meals we were all looking forward to a pudding. We sat in front of our dirty plates for over forty minutes whilst the staff chatted to one another, emptied the dish washer and slouched around. Eye contact was made several times with various members of staff but no one came to clear our plates despite this. I then piled up the dirty plates at the end of the table so they were more visible to the waiting staff, however this did not attract any attention. After forty five minutes my friend went to ask one of the members of staff if we could have a pudding, to which he replied 'Kitchens shut' which seems ridiculous as it was only 20.40 on a Saturday night and there were still tables eating their main meals at this time. We then went to the bar to pay. We were met by a woman who did not seem to have any manners what so ever or any awareness of good customer service. When my partner asked to pay by card she looked irritated as she had to walk two meters down the bar to get the card machine. Then she crumpled the receipt without asking if we wanted to keep it, when my partner asked if he could keep the receipt she blatantly rolled her eyes at him. I have never seen a member of staff at any restaurant be so obviously rude and uncaring about her job and customers. Such a shame as the food was lovely which suggests people are working hard in the kitchen just for the people that are the face of the company to be letting them down. As a waitress myself I would have been understanding if it had been busy about the plates but there was only three other tables left in the pub. I will think twice about returning as we certainly didn't feel welcome due to the staffs unfriendly nature.

Having enjoyed what I deemed to be the best steak I ever had a couple of years ago I decided to visit Lord Rodney again just to check I want being over enthusiastic. The 10oz Flat iron steak medium rare (as always and recommended) is without doubt the second best steak I ever tasted. That is, it was the best steak I ever tasted and was equally good second time round. But it didn't start there, it started with nachos and they were without peer, totally fresh and a revelation you HAVE to try them. Lovely relaxed atmosphere and well laid out. Suits all occasions and pockets.

I met up with some friends for food at the Rodney this week. We were seated immediately by the attentive bar staff, food was ordered and prepared quickly and it was beautiful! To start I had the BBQ chicken skewers which were delicious and for the main I had fish and chips! I would highly recommend a visit to the place if anyone is in Keighley as it is a very lovely establishment with enthusiastic and attentive staff, the food is incredible and very reasonably priced! I will definitely be returning!

My husband and I ate here for the first time after looking for somewhere nice to eat locally. My sister and some other people have raved on about the Rodney for ages. Firstly the pub itself is beautiful, really tastefully decorated and modern. It was clean when we visited. The lady on the bar (young with blonde hair) was a little overrun on her own with a full bar and a few tables waiting but she was great - really friendly, polite and efficient. The name on our receipt is Ella but I'm aware that this isn't always accurate when you work in a team and over the course of our meal other staff did materialise. Our food was wonderfully presented and tasted - for the most part - great but the chef was way too black pepper happy! I LOVE black pepper as a seasoning but our mains were almost like a dish of black pepper each there was that much on there - and on each item on the plate. For a starter we ate a 'sharing starter', our mains were a mixed grill/surf and turf with a prawn skewer and a 5oz signature steak with mushroom sauce. For dessert we shared a brownie. All in all for the food plus 3 pints of coke it cost us £55.25 which I think's reasonable. Beautiful venue, excellent customer service, food would be perfect without a black pepper overload! I'd like to go back so will maybe ask for it all without black pepper.

I met up with old friends for our annual Christmas get together, lunch at the Rodney.I ordered the fish and chips and wish that I hadn't because the batter on the fish was awful. It was undercooked inside, white and slimy where it should have been nice and crisp.A shame because the rest of my meal was very nice.Service and atmosphere were really good.

We love the Rodney as it’s a great place to bring family and friends. It has excellent décor, great atmosphere, Ella and her staff are friendly and professional and great food. We had a chicken kiev with a twist as it contained chorizo which was delicious. The chips and the coleslaw were good too. The Lord Rodney pizza was really tasty. We’ll keep returning to the Rodney as its always consistently good. So keep up the good work

We stopped in the Lord Rodney on a Sunday afternoon. Had the traditional beef with Yorkshire Pudding and our very favorite sticky toffee pudding. Food was great, but can't compare to the wonderful staff. Ella C went above and beyond to make our visit special, we can't thank her enough, her kindness will be one of the highlights of our visit to the UK. The Timothy Taylor ales on tap were a real treat.

I was looking for somewhere new to try that was dog friendly, that wasn’t too far away. I searched for the previous pub name as always wanted to try it and realised it was under new management. When we arrived it wasn’t busy but we had a warm greeting and had a choice of tables. The decor is really nice and cosy and our dog was given a bowl of water. We chose from the grill menu which was exceptional value and included a drink, chose Madri. We both had sirloin steak with all the trimmings including sauce and it was really good, piping hot and tasty. As it was a warm night we ordered another drink and sat outside overlooking the amazing view. We will be back for grill night and to try the main menu which had reasonable prices for food and wine. We aim to support local business and have told friends about this place, some have booked for next week already. If you want a good country pub without rip off prices (which most seem to have) then give this a try. Inside has fires and twinkly lights which will be lovely in winter. Service was welcoming and friendly and we are looking forward to our next visit. We will get a taxi so we can have a few drinks. No photos of the food but here is one of the view.

Very cosy pub under new management with a new chef, the food was incredible, very high quality and filling, the vibes of the pub are extremely welcoming, nicely decorated and good pricing too, perfectly situated at the top of the high street next to the church, you won’t go wrong stopping in here for food or drink!

Home From Home is one of four cafes in Kirkgate Market. I had a Full English breakfast which was well cooked and presented with toast and a cup of tea, friendly service, clean and good value.
