Long Row Social in Nottingham

First time visiting. We were greeted by a nice gentleman who promptly took our order. Within a few minutes our cocktails had arrived. The cocktails we ordered were made very differently to what we were all used to in multiple other places. One was undrinkable. He offered to make us another different cocktail, again this came but nothing like we were expecting, but at least drinkable. PIE arrived quickly I had steak pie, small amount of mash underneath and mushy peas. All were lukewarm but tasted lovely. Would have liked it warmer. We finished drinks and waited for 20 minutes for someone to come over to give us the bill... in the end we got up and asked for it. All In all an OK place, food nice just not warm enough but avoid the cocktails at all costs.

Brilliant food and brilliant service from Gavin who was an absolute tonic all night Pies are absolutely banging! Love the chilled atmosphere and layout of the bar will definitely visit again when in Nottingham

Visited today for the first ever time. I’ve never visited this restaurant, or any other PieMinister related restaurant before. I went for lunch, & was surprised by the smell - smelt like overly fried food imho, also the place was empty, apart from 2 women eating at a table. That said, it did take a minute or two to get my presence acknowledged by the only visible member of staff - who was at the far end of the restaurant/behind the bar. Server/greeter was polite,& helpful, & my order promptly taken. Food was delivered fairly quickly - veggie pie (Mooless Moo) with mushy peas, mash, & gravy. The actual pie was perfect, & I couldn’t fault it, gravy was lovely too - flavoursome l, & neither too thick OR runny. Mash was a small portion - squashed under the pie, but tasted ok. Mushy peas were Luke warm, & not exactly mushy & quite firm. I’d have liked them to be warmer & more ‘mushy’… but I still ate them. Another member of staff appeared (Male) who was nice enough, but being called ‘pal’ by him every few minutes was mildly annoying. Another slight irritant, was the loud music playing - it was loud rap music, which might have been ok for a party/event in the evening, but for a quiet lunch was a bit much. Who was it for? The staff or customers? It didn’t set the right vibe for me. Would I go again? Possibly… but I don’t think I’d rush back. Deffo scope for improvement.

While visiting the Nottingham Christmas markets we stopped at this restaurant for lunch as a group of five. We each ordered the different Pieminster pies off the menu and I as happy to see three different Gluten Free options available, as well as a range of GF sides to have with it. Overall it was a hearty dish which is just what we needed to warm up from the cold and carry on with our market shopping.

Ordered the sharing starters: pork scratching (almost lost a tooth), halloumi fries (tinest drizzle of sauce), honey and mustard cocktail sausages (pretty meh) I had a gluten free beef pie, it wasn't anything special, neither was the mash. The gravy was interesting, powdery texture, not a lot of taste. Other half had the beef and blue cheese pie, it was very underwhelming. Fruit flies everywhere.

I popped in last night why I was walking my dog the waitress Marie made use all very welcome and very great manners and the kitchen manager or chef came over and asked if he could give are french bulldog something we said yes so he went back in and Marie came out with sausage and gravy witched they loved so we stay for alot more drinks because we was made so welcome plus we be back very soon

Popped in for some sundaes (partner is gluten free and swears by PieMinisters for how accomodating they are to it) during a casual birthday night out. Had lovely hosting from Paul and Maria. It was very quiet (bank holiday Monday before the students are back in town) but they went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Very personable. Came for pudding (and baked stuff), stayed for cocktails. Then more cocktails! Overall very good experience in what is a good area of the city centre.

I went to see if the pies were as good as they used to be. They are ! The service was good and we were served quickly by helpful friendly staff. Will definitely visit again

Me and my partner came here on a recommendation. We had the Heidi and Funghi chicken. Whilst the meals were okay, we have actually had better tasting pies in pubs and even some supermarkets. The rosemary fries were delicious. So, this was not the experience we were hoping for. Also, the pies arrived around 3 mins after ordering, so they must have been cooked and sitting on a hot plate waiting to be served. The service was amazing though. The staff were absolutely wonderful.

My second visit to Long Row Social. Found it by accident in June when I was out with girlfriends and we wanted somewhere to sit outside to enjoy the sunshine. We had cocktails (2-4-1 all the time making them great value when ranging from £9.50-£11.50) and decided to order their 3 unusual and tasty tapas for £13 to share. In July I visited with another friend and sat inside due to the rain. On both occasions the young staff were very pleasant and helpful, offering recommendations and checking everything was OK and wishing us a nice day as we left. Nice decor and clean toilets. There's a pool table and photo booth at the rear too. Just surprised this place isn't busier as good food/drink and good service and good prices!

I was slightly confused at first, as this place has replaced Pieminister on Long Row. It still has all the same pies as before though, and when I went in with my son we still got to have our favourite!

Haven't been here before, but so glad I came in!👍🏻 From the warm welcome from Freya when I arrived with friends to the moment we left nothing felt like too much trouble. Lovely relaxed atmosphere, easy listening music in the background and brilliant prices make this a very good place to meet and eat. The vegan pies are absolutely stunning too! Haven't had such a tasty, filling meal for a long time. Delicious food guys, well done 👏🏻
