My first time eating Lebanese food and I loved it. Everything was so fresh and really tasty. Service was quick and waiters were all helpful and smiling.

Amazing food, service and a great atmosphere here. We came at lunch as I am aware it is louder at dinner. The food was incredible and tasted high quality. The juices are fresh and tasty - we recommend the lemon and mint if you like sour. The sharing platters are a great way to try everything and you are likely to be full (less is more). Gorgeous interior and helpful staff. The unique baclava was very sweet but delicious. We were given a complimentary salad which was nice. Overall a bit pricy overall but great for special occasions

Best not to get take away here, I had to sit outside in the cold for 30 minutes but the receptionist who took my order said it would be around 20 minutes, then i had to go back inside to ask for my food, and it seemed like it had been ready for a long time. Maybe they only serve you nicely if you pay a service charge and eat in. If so add the service charge to the take away and serve it properly.

Got my order wrong (missing items) After waiting over 30 minutes for one chicken wrap and one piece of bread. I only ordered from them because apparently it’s Lebanese. However, this is a pure Kurdish glorified kebab shop - From which I will never order again! I ordered two items and they only gave me one (see attached order sheet). I tried to call to rectify/clarify this issue. The phone number apparently is diverted to her mobile number which goes to a voice message. - Now that’s famous in itself 🤣🤣 It looks like the reviews are mostly four stars and they are mostly related to service and rip-off prices over average food/luxury, kebab! I won’t try it again!

I don’t know what’s happened to this place, but it’s an absolute disgrace compared to what it used to be. It was once the go-to spot, with great food, generous portions, and a welcoming atmosphere. Now? It’s unrecognisable. Let’s start with the portion sizes, laughably small compared to before, yet the prices have shot up to ridiculous levels. Paying more and getting less is bad enough, but then they have the audacity to force you to pay upfront before you’ve even seen your food! And if that wasn’t insulting enough, they slap on a 10% service charge before anything has even been served. How can you justify a service charge for a service that hasn’t even happened yet? And don’t even get me started on how they’ve started cutting corners. You used to get chips with the mixed platter, now they’ve taken them away. Really? How expensive are chips? It’s just pure greed at this point, squeezing every last penny out of customers while offering less and less in return. But the worst part? The sheer rudeness and unprofessionalism of the staff. As we were getting up to leave, a waiter ambushed us from across the room and practically chased us down like bailiffs over a side of chips, making us feel like criminals in front of everyone. No respect, no courtesy, just pure hostility. It was humiliating, and frankly, I’ve never experienced anything like it in a restaurant before. Ever since the fire, this place has completely lost its soul. The quality has plummeted, the prices are extortionate, and the service is downright nasty. Congratulations, you’ve successfully driven away a loyal customer, and I can assure you my friends won’t be coming back either. We’ll be taking our business to the city centre from now on, where we’ll actually be treated like human beings. Such a shame, this place used to be the best. Now? It’s a total joke.

An insulting experience No respect, I have been to much fancier restaurants and I have never been charged upfront for my meal with a mandatory 10% service charge. Not worth the insulting service, the arrogance to charge a mandatory 10% to your bill that is not removable when asked. Save your time and money and go somewhere where your patronage is not insulted with the assumption that you will dine and dash your meal and not tip. Genuinely a shame because the food is 10/10, service however poor.

I’ve been coming to Lona Bristol for the past eight years with my family, but after this last experience, I won’t be returning. The service has completely changed for the worse. First, they now ask for payment before you even receive your food, treating every customer as if they might run away without paying. Just because one person did that, it’s unfair to assume everyone else will do the same. It creates a terrible dining experience, making customers feel untrusted and unwelcome. Then comes the waiting time—over 40 minutes for food, which is unacceptable. And when it finally arrived, the quality was shocking. The meat was undercooked, the lamb chops were raw, and the portion sizes have drastically reduced. The chicken used to be thick and well-cooked, but now it’s sliced so thin that it barely feels like a proper meal. On top of that, they’ve stopped serving fries with Round 4, which used to be included. Now, you have to order them separately, which makes no sense. It’s just another way to cut corners and charge more while giving less. Overall, everything has changed—the food quality, the taste, the service—all for the worse. If I wasn’t with my family, I would have walked out. But that’s it for me. After eight years, I won’t be coming back. I do not recommend this place anymore. If they keep running it like this, they won’t last long.

I love Lona especially their birthday song and how all the waiters come together clapping. The food is good and waiters are very friendly. This restaurant is one of the best I've been to in terms of food quality and service. Nothing is too much for the staff and they keep the place very clean. As soon as people leave, tables are cleaned and the floor is swept. Something I don't see in busy restaurants! The only thing I will say is, when there is a queue and you have booked, you don't need to wait in the queue. I didn't know this but I asked. So if you have a booking, don't stand and wait in the queue. Appreciate the great service and food. Chukka!!

Been going to this place for last 15 years with my family it was good until last 5 years where more middle class White Brittish people eat then beforehand. Since then I notice decline in service they increase capacity to make more money from more customers but did not increase staff capacity. Also they forced my Nan to pay service charge which is optional under law and said it dose not matter and we needed to pay because my Nan did not care she just paid but for me I would not patronise here if I was paying because I do not agree paying more to cover staff payment I am customer not a boss.

Deceptively adding a service charge to every table instead of transparently informing customers upfront. This isn’t Egypt where you can scam your customers. By law, customers can refuse the charge, and most restaurants only apply it to groups of three or more so this is an insidious move. The staff lack coordination and listening skills—nodding in acknowledgment but failing to follow through on requests. Diabolical staff training given. Go to Zizzi”s or any other well known restaurant and you will see how professionally trained they can be. The owners and chefs are Kurdish, yet they’ve given the restaurant a Lebanese tag, creating confusion about its identity. True Kurdish values—bravery, honesty, and passion—are nowhere to be found in this place. The next step is to cancel upcoming corporate bookings and inform our partner companies to take their business elsewhere.

Recommended by a number of taxi drivers! We has a large sharing dish between 4 of us, which we all enjoyed. Came with 6 people this time - minimum to book a table on Saturday night. Queue went down the street! Sharing platter for 4-5 was plenty for the 6 of us and enough to be worth taking leftovers. Had several items from the juice bar (very nice) plus various cokes. They were so busy they weren't serving desserts, given how much I had already eaten that was probably a good thing. Worked out around £20 a head - really good value for great food. If you're celebrating a birthday they will make a fuss of you!

I recently visited Lona Restaurant in Bristol and, despite having called ahead to confirm the last order time, our experience was disappointing. Upon entering, the customer service felt off from the start. As soon as we were handed the menu, staff immediately approached us, asking if we were ready to order. They were overly pushy, insisting that we hurry up because the kitchen would be closing soon. When I spoke with the owner afterward, he mentioned that the last order was at 10:30 PM and that the chefs needed to go home. However, this was clearly incorrect, as three other tables arrived after us and were not rushed in the same way. To add to the frustration, we were charged an additional £5 without being informed. When I inquired about this, I was told it was a service charge. While I don't have an issue with service charges in principle, it should have been communicated upfront, and ultimately, it should be our choice whether to pay it. In this case, I didn’t feel the service warranted it, but the owner refused to remove the charge. On a positive note, the food itself was very good. However, the poor customer service leaves me reluctant to return. As a fellow business owner, I understand the importance of treating customers well—something this establishment could greatly improve upon.

The food was lovely here, at first, the staff were also relatively nice. Once we sat down however, we ordered our food. They reviewed the order then when the food was brought out, one of our orders came wrong and the staff member insisted that we said we wanted the fillet steak over the sirloin steak. We ended up having to stick with the fillet steak. The staff cooperated with us and ended up giving us a price match. We enjoyed the food and I would still recommend it overall.

The tasty food is dominated by mutton, which dominates almost every combination on the menu, there are delicious fruit drinks and you can arrange a birthday party, the entire waiter team brings a cake with a candle and claps to the rhythm of the music. The downside is that there is no alcohol in the premises and to have a drink or beer you have to go across the street to the pub.

An overall pleasant experience clouded with the "10% mandatory service fee" that you pay BEFORE you get your food, how can you pay for a service before you recieve it. The fact that you're paying a premium for the food should be enough. (Hummus with 1 kebab on top, just under £8.00) The manager explained the service fee is for the staff however they dont do anything out of the ordinary for me apart from take your order and bring your food! It would be appreciated if you were actually clear with your pricing and increase the food price by 10%. I'm sure there's something going on with the tax and needs to be reported to authorities. But food was nice

We went to Lona Grill House on the recommendation of my son who is a regular customer. It has an amazing atmosphere and you really feel like you are in North Africa and not in Bristol. The staff are super helpful and very attentive. The food is cooked to perfection. The portion sizes are large and offer good value for money. My wife had the lamb cutlets which she thoroughly enjoyed. I had one of the vegetarian dishes which was excellent. We will definitely be returning.

I absolutely love this place. Great food and juices. Can get a little noisy when its busy. At busy times, you may have to wait for a table, but the last time we went we had a table straight away. The Hummus starter is on point, and we love the piri piri chicken with chips and rice. There have a large selection of fresh juices. They have a wheelchair friendly entrance and plenty of tables for wheelchairs .

Got Over Charged. I went for dinner with kids yesterday evening because the kids wanted Luna food, no problem. As we ordered, Round 3 ( mix platter ) and 3 smoothies, but straight away have to pay £92 before eat, sure no problem I see things online people don't pay after eating understandable not a problem, but the worse yet to come there was 10% service charge added to our bill, we even hadn't our food yet we don't know how the food is going to be and how good is the service going to be, but NO had to pay which I felt disgusted by thier trick of ripping people off, 10% on every order. Never mind, the menu price has gone up, and the food is getting smaller in potions, cost of living. I don't think I will be happy to go there again for dinner unless I'm asked, but NO. The service charge or tips for waiters should be decided by the customers how much to be paid, NOT compulsory by the restaurant 🤔 it's an act of THEFT. I hope the LUNA groups think again not to add any more service charges to any person's bill, or they will lose more customers like me.

I’ve been a few times and find the staff slightly unwelcoming and pretty functional. Whilst the food is really good, I find it insulting that they insist you pay when ordering. I understand that they’ve had issues in the past, but I don’t fancy eating somewhere that doesn’t trust me. Plus, it stopped me ordering any extra food or drinks. Overall, nice food, but I wouldn’t go back, or recommend it. Ultimately, lots of places have nice food and it’s how you’re made to feel that’s important. This is an area they fail in.

Used to love coming here but it has gone downhill in terms of service and atmosphere. Nobody checks to see if the food is okay, the plastic cups make it feel like a cheap takeaway place !! and the napkins are also so cheap. Cutting corners like not offering chips with the platters anymore but increasing the price just makes it feel like your average fast food place. It used to be a place where you’d come to celebrate but now it’s just so pathetic, I’d rather drive to Birmingham/London and eat there. The staff hover around you making you feel uncomfortable and are almost rushing you out when they think you’re done with the food. Management obviously don’t care as the business model is working and it’s always busy, but maybe just have a think.

Lona is the best Lebanese restaurant in Bristol their food is absolutely amazing and the service they provide is spot on. When it's your birthday the staff round up and play music and bring out a cake for you with a sparkling candle to set the scene absolutely amazing it's like one massive party with the whole restaurant clapping 😂 lovely atmosphere this place is definitely family oriented which is really nice

We were made to pay BEFORE we got our food and it soon became clear why- despite having plenty of staff NONE COULD BE BOTHERED TO TALK TO US, and since they added 10% service charge why would they care about good service? Once we got 1 drink and our meal ordered noone came to see if it was OK, or if we wanted another drink, or if we wanted dessert ( we did, but never got the chance). They also forgot dishes on both ours and our friends orders- that we'd already paid for! Our table was at 7pm so not like they were closing. We won't be going back and certainly won't be recommending it to others.

Used to go here quite often and really enjoyed but haven't been for quite awhile, after tonight's experience we will not be back. As soon as we sat down they wanted us to order food, we told them we only just sat and haven't even looked at menu, literally 5 mins later they were back again so told them we needed more time. When we were ready to order we were told we had to pay first, but when we asked what if we want more drinks, dessert etc she just shrugged her shoulders. When we looked around everyone else seemed to be paying after they had eaten except another table besides us that was also White English they had to pay as soon as they ordered. The food came and it's was lovely but nobody stopped by our table now they had our money and 10% service fee to see if everything was OK or if we needed more drinks, we had to keep chasing for the sides we ordered and paid for. At the end of the meal they came and cleared our plates and again didn't ask if we wanted more drinks or desserts, so we sat and waited. About 15 mins later they cleared our glasses and when we said we would like more drinks we were offered water????? We had 10% added to our bill for service charge when we recieved no service whats so ever, we felt very rushed and couldn't wait to get rid of us, as soon as we stood up they pulled our table up to another. So much for a lovely meal, drinks and catch up with some friends, I could understand if we had been there for hours but this whole experience was just over 1hr

Went with with some friends and was amazed by the quality of food and the setting. We ordered the 3 person platter, not quite knowing what to expect but it was actually reallllly good. The platter was massive with three types of rice, chops, chicken, lamb and some lovely stuffed naan things. Reasonable prices, nice setting, attentive staff, and parking available outside on the main road. Highly recommended and will be going again.

It was my first visit after a long while... Food was awful, lamb cutlets so fatty,asked for a mint souce, and I was given salt and pepper...?!! Staff was not attentive at all,hiding themselves behind the wooden wall. Music far too loud. When I complained to the person at the door,he seemed to be disinterested... I won't be returning...

Our 2nd visit and as always the food and service was 1st class. You can always tell how popular a place is when you are queuing to get in. You would be hard pushed to find foods suitable for all dietary requirements. Would 100% recommend every time. Thank you Lona the whole team is so dedicated!

Awful experience, they demand you to pay all upfront and force you to pay extra 10% service charge which is not a law in the UK. Food came up uncooked with my salad missing. Constant load music for birthday occasions makes you ears bleed and you can not hear anyone on your table or have any conversation. The random Kurdish managers do not care about customer experience
