Lokkum Bar and Grill in Redbridge

Style over substance. Overpriced and small portions. We had a mixed starter for £16, honestly it consisted of 8 things of Tesco quality meat, calamari and tasteless halloumi. For main, I had an overcooked, tasteless and fatty lamb shank. My partner had a lamb kebab house special that was so poorly presented It looked like a child put it together, with a bowl of frozen chips and the smallest side salad I have ever seen!Never again.

Lokkum is one of the best restaurant I’ve ever been . Firstly they have their own parking so you don’t need to worry about your parking . Beautiful decorations inside and outside both . Staff is well organised. Food is amazing we had lamb and beef sirloin steak . Best passion fruit mojito and my wife really liked her pina colada . Surely we will back again.

Visited today with family, went their first time. Asked for help from the person serving to provide more information on the menu and what was the best recommendation I was referred back to menu was told that it’s all in the menu. The person was very rude and was rushing to take the order. We was not served any sauces with the bread until we had to ask for few time. We also was not sure what drinks were on the menu as nothing was made clear on the menu and also the waiter didn’t explain.Overly priced and definitely not the service you would expect from such expensive restaurant.I had been to Tarshish in past and was expecting a similar service but completely let down. Never going there again.

I visited this restaurant on the weekend with friends and although the decor and food/drinks were lovely, I think it was overpriced. I basically paid £20 for a small lamb kebab and I definitely didn’t leave full. We were also charged a hefty service fee at the end which we asked to remove since the waiters were constantly rushing us to finish our food and reminding us that there were people in the slot after us (although there was still about half an hour left until the next slot), we were even told to stand in a corner at one point so they could start clearing the table last minute. We explained this to the waiter and he refused to take off the service charge and said it was compulsory which I think is ridiculous. Overall had a great time because of my friends but for the price I think the service should be a lot better.

We love this place! From the pub it was to the restaurant it now is the guys here have done a wonderful job! Keep it going guys 👍🏻

I can’t fault anything about this restaurant. Food was lovely, the safety aspect was on point with temperature to trek and trace to masks. Great service and great food 👍🏽

I was really looking forward to having my birthday meal here especially after lock down but I was so disappointed. Our temperature was taken upon arriving and then we were herded in. The waiting staff were attentive until a group of 10 arrived - from there on in it was a game of trying to catch someone’s attention. The food was bland and tasted no where as good as on previous visits. Eventually I had to get up to ask for the bill and even though I had left my food and explained to the waiter why, he just smiled and moved on to the next customer. The dress code is now nonexistent and the service is awful. In fairness my husband enjoyed his steak but neither of us will be returning. Shame...

I already had the burger from this place (which is a very quirky and neatly designed venture, a nice surprise facing the endless flats of Epping Forest just beyond).But their steak and chips on the menu (for Sirloin) was £25, so I decided to give the restaurants the full works sooner than later with this staple, yet very hard to Perfect dish. (Having just had a crushing disappointment with the frankly terrible, garbage-grade 'Meat House' in Kings Cross; shudder!)The starter. I ordered their 'cripsy sweet chilli chicken'. Now at 1st glance, these seemed the usual affair; glazed sticky wings - would taste like sugary molten plastic and chemicals on top of a rubber glove. But this was, simply the best starter, ever. Ever!Ridiculous: the wings were in fact boneless, but they're coated in a subtle breadcrumb that had a nice moist 'crumbly crunch' to them; a very high-grade eating experience alone. The taste belies the looks; subly sweet chilli, honey and nutty breadcrumbs, then the most moist, tender and juicy grilled wings, packed with flavor you would associate from a full gourmet 'steamed' or roaster chicken cut. Incredible. Must be tried , don't take my words for it trying as I am to convince! Starter (Sweet spicy Chicken Wings): 10/10.Now the steak and chips: when it was served, what I first picked u were the aroma's of the cooking and beef which were absolutely salivating. Presentation-wise, the steak it self was clean cut, tidy and with a nice nutty dark-brown sear you expect when paying this money and from an A-grade steak.Then the cut; really really good. This was a sirloin, so the most lowest grade 'standard' for the masses but the chef here gladly does not skimp on the Quality. I could tell this was cooked on the fat strip too; the caramelisation and gentle sear gave way to a cutting experience that was easy, not much work for the knife to do. It was not Perfect like cutting through buttery play dough but very decent indeed. The taste was a mix of wonderful roast, prime 'sweet' beef flavours and 'standard grilled meat'; both a little unusual, surprising yet satisfying in it's own right. The flavor could have been a little better, but I came late and maybe didn't tailor my order for butter to be used as much as I want. I then ate the fat strip last; beautiful, almost melt in mouth with a wonderful nutty-buttery fat flavor along with crispy sear. Amazing finish. On the whole, it was very tasty.The cut appeared to have very easy-eating parts which were delightful, and the hallmark of a proper Steak chef who know what he's doing (please don't change anything here Lokkum Manager!!).Only blemish were the tomatoes on top; very nice at 1st glance bu these I found were actually steeped in a very strong white wine (or even vodka??!), on bursting one in my mouth. Ttally ruined the sweet, sun-rpien compliment the tomatoes are meant to give to a steak dish. But anyhow, I will let it slide, these were just tomatoes and you can request the chef/serving staff to order it without alcohol; maybe laze the tomatoes in butter for the next time I visit (early hopefully!)Steak: 9/10. Brilliant.The chips (home made - nothing less will or should do!); were good. Not great but they were decent sized, steak chips with good crispiness (when hot) and even better with a sprinkle of their wonderful gourmet sea salt flakes that really do make a difference. Home made chips: 8/10.For desserts; well sadly this was,, I must say a total 180 on the Main course experience lol. It was as bad as I didn't want. The brownie sponge while home-made, was bland, quite dry.Cheap, mainstream and awfully bland 'chocolate', made to look nice with the usual cheffy drizzle and ice cream to side but comes off looking a bit 'forced'.None of the glistening, cloddy thick oozy moisture and thick, chewy treacly coffee hinted deep Quality chocolate I was hoping and that you get from a Hotel Chocolat or Greyston brownie. Dessert: 2/10.Anyhow; this did not dampen my experience of the starter and Main courses one bit, I just shook it off. Nor did the horribly overpriced drinks (£11????!).The staff were so friendly, and dedicated. The lady who served us was attentive and charming in offering us a better table! Great!Overall; this is a serious player in the smart / semi-casual eating business. Amazing steaks priced very well, and overall a wonderful experience, be it an occasional treat or regular (if you are an oil ambassador!).Would definitely visit again and make regular trips if possible!

I came here for the first time and her service was lovely. She is the definition of excellent customer service and an example to others. Because of her I will be coming back here again and the resturant was lovely and very clean, up to date with recent covid19 measures. You will be satisfied if you choose to dine here.

Went here for my sisters birthday celebration and it was amazing. Food was lovely. Drinks amazing. Staff helpful and friendly. Will def be going back

The decor is amazing in this place however in my opinion the food could do with more seasoning to really accentuate the Turkish flavours of the spices and herbs. My Fave starter was the shredded Lamb Tacos - A MUST on every order. Seabass was a delight however the monkfish needed more seasoning. Staff is very friendly and responsive.

We’ve wanted go eat here for ages and decided the best time to go and try it would be on the Eat Out to Help Out scheme. I follow a gluten free diet and was happy to see that the menu was clearly labelled with things that I could have. I did email, Instagram and call to ask about certain dishes. For example the chicken Shish says it’s not gluten free but that’s because it comes with bread. Take off the bread and you’ve got a gluten free meal. It did take a long time for the restaurant to reply, and actually they didn’t reply to any of my messages I had to call and ask them. I’m sure it would have been a different matter if I was a celebrity or a famous influencer. That’s just the impression I get. We arrive at the restaurant all ready for our lovely evening meal. Lovely greeting at the door all safe and socially distanced and the waitress was wearing a mask. All the staff were. We were shown to our table and given menus. Literally 2 seconds later we were asked for our drinks menu. I’d only just be given the cocktail menu - give us a few more mins please. Thank you. But even then a different waiter came over a couple of minutes later to ask the same thing. Let’s not rush this! We’ve got 2 1/2 hours on the table we don’t have to be so snappy. We eventually ordered our drinks and food which arrived quite quickly. I’d ordered the hummus to start and ordered some vegetables to go with it as I couldn’t eat the bread. Perfectly fine. The hummus was really tasty. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their starters. The chicken wings weren’t anything to write home about. They were more like nuggets than wings. Our mains arrived promptly after our starters, probably a little too quickly but were very tasty. I opted for the chicken Shish as that’s my favourite but there were plenty more gluten free options to choose from. The dish came with a small salad but you have to order things like rice and chips as an extra side. Different from other Turkish restaurants I’ve eaten in where it’s all included in the same price. The food was tasty but for the price I’ve had better for cheaper. The portions are decent sizes but again that doesn’t reflect on the price. My boyfriend had 4 lamb chops and that would usually cost £21. Anyway it was a nice night out if not a bit rushed. We’d finished eating within an hour. When I go out to eat I want to take my time and enjoy the evening, especially at the moment. But it was nice if not overpriced. We probably wouldn’t return, we’ve done it now and we’d probably go back to our usual.

Been to lokkum last week and absolutely loved it. The head waiter ERTAN made the meal/night special. He was fantastic and very professional. The sutlac dessert is a must. One of the best I have had for a long time. Well done lokkum.

Was really excited to visit this restaurant after seeing it hyped up quite a lot. From pictures, it looks amazing and have heard good things. I will admit that the place itself is really nice in terms of appearance and service was okay but the food is average at best and way overpriced for what it is. The two starters we ordered (king and baby prawns and the hummus with lamb) were rubbish. The hummus with lamb was so salty and the prawns were pretty bland with no exciting flavours. The mains need to have sides ordered separately - I do think there should be one side that comes with it for how much you pay. I got the lamb lokkum which was essentially about 4/5 pieces of lamb on a bit of paper thin bread (the same one you get complimentary before food) and the meat wasn’t even hot, more warm. The mashed potato which I had as a side was probably the best thing I had but even then I have had better. It’s such a shame that I’ve had to give a negative review but it was just a real let down and not worth the money we paid. I would not go back here - if you want food with real flavour and somewhere actually worth going to I’d recommend Tarshish over this which is also on the pricier side don’t get me wrong, but worth it.

This posh place is very decent indeed, Our table was on the tent side of the restaurant, it was well lit & heated. They have spent a lot of money & effort to decorate & make this place elegant.We chose the Lamb cage, Dallas steak, Salmon fillet, Mix grill, crispy calamari, spicy wings, humus, broccoli, mixed olives, chips, bulgur rice, new potatoes. For desserts we chose, cheesecake.All the items were of high standard, meats were bland, but expected.Would highly recommend.

Decided to visit this restaurant at the last minute tonight and so pleased we did. We have been here a number of time but tonight was even better than normal! We were looked after by Arun one of the Front of House Team. Very professional and attentive. Food was again, excellent quality and cooked to perfection. The entire experience was excellent and I suggest you try this place, if you are lucky enough to get a table Guys!Enjoy!

Turkish food done differently but with you saying hmmm at every bite and not leaving feeling hungry. Every bite of the lamb was simply delicous. Decor great for that insta pic and staff very attentive and friendly. Pricier than your high street Turkish but lovely place for a family get together a birthday or date night.

Not the best Turkish restaurant to eat in.Small portions, Just warm too , Lamb was pink and a mixed grill at 25.00 was so expensive for what was on the plate.The car park says it all, Range Rovers, Rolls Royces and flash cars.Nice if you like to be seen but why dine here when you can walk in your best togger down bond street for food at the same price. AVOID

There is nothing to say. A poor pretentious restaurant Expensive. Tasteless . Poor. Service try to help and were friendly but the food .... try Oklava if you want Turkish food. This is a rip off.

We attended a special birthday for our niece. The welcome was ok. Nice surroundings and seating arrangement. The group set menu is priced per person but the starter and deserts served was for sharing between 4. Menu was changed on the night from 2 or 3 course to just a more expensive 3 course meal, without apology. I have to applaud their cocktails but at £10+ each though. The rice and the bulgar wheat are really nice sides. However, a variety of dishes was ordered by our group and its fare to say the dishes were average in taste.And never been to a Turkish resturant that doesn't serve Turkish Tea!!!The waiting service was poor bar one waiter. Staff leaned over us to serve and clear tables without excusing themselves, some body odours were insulting too! Our waitress was rude and argumentative many times so no way was we paying 12.5% service charge or leaving a tip. 2 stars is for the one waiter who really paid attention to his customers needs but we won't be returning or recommending Lokkum

We went to dine as two couples. Loved the place, the atmosphere and the food. Staff were also very friendly. Loved the cold mezes, though the humus was slightly too liquidy for my taste. Loved the goat cheese and honey combo. The meat was also tender and succulent. We couldn’t eat much of a certain meat on the menu because it had more fat on it than we were used to, and the response we got was lovely and one we were not expecting. The chef S.Y. came to our table personally and tried to explain why that meat was particularly “fatty”. It was clear that he personally cared about customer satisfaction. To top it all, they did not charge us for the order (£58 worth). This is what gains customer satisfaction and approval, not seeing them simply as cows to milk, but caring about their experience. We would definitely go there again. P.s. there was live music on Saturday night which was quite enjoyable.

Worst lunch I’ve had for years, £120 for a few drinks and sea bass and 4 prawns absolute rip off and very average food would never go again

We visited Lokkum on 14 Feb for a family birthday meal. Valentine’s Day so the restaurant had been re-arranged, no bar or entertainment. We were given the large round group table in a private-dining set up which we hadn’t expected. The atmosphere was lively & good being a Friday evening. The manager Aaron was friendly & very professional. We had a lovely meal, the food was excellent & we were well looked after. Will go back on a normal weekend to enjoy again with entertainment etc.

My boyfriend & I have been here plenty of times and we would rave to everyone about the food and the service. We booked here for Valentine’s Day and although I had seen a couple of bad reviews and people saying the restaurant must be under new management, we decided to give it the benefit of the doubt. I wish I listened to the reviews. We were seated straight away, they tried to cram as many tables and chairs in so I did feel like I was on a double date with the couple next to me. After we were seated, we were not approached again for another 20 minutes. We had to get someone’s attention for them to even bring us the menus, let alone take an order. Certain staff members were quite rude also, I asked if we could mix the chicken and lamb mains on the set menu and he said no it’s one thing off the mains in a tone initiating I was stupid. When we finally got our starters, we had 4 pieces of bread between us when we had been given loads more previous times we had been here, we had to ask for more given the starter was a mezze platter. They didn’t even bring over the olives which were listed on the menu, so I asked for them and they were extremely poor, no garlic no nothing on them. The hot mezze platter - the calamari has completely changed, needed to be cooked for longer. We got one piece of halloumi each, one crispy borek each, and a couple of rings of uncooked calamari. Let’s bare in mind it’s £49 per person here. Took ages for our food to be taken off our table, and when it was they put our mains down straight away. They got the sides wrong, so we asked for the correct side dish. And once again they brought over another side which was wrong. There was no salad on the plate, we had to ask for this whereas before the plate was never short of salad. We had finished eating and honestly our plates were left there for around half an hour before anyone collected them. At this point the poor service was ruining our night. The deserts came and the chocolate cake was way too dry, and I never complain about any chocolate cake. Overall this definitely did put a dampener on our Valentine’s Day, no live music either which they’ve had multiple times before when I’ve been here. It was very apparent they cared more about getting in as many people as possible rather than the quality of their night. Has to be under new management, a true disappointment as we loved this restaurant. Won’t be returning.

Thank you to all the Lokkum staff for making my mums birthday so special! Deniz and Diana were so lovely and helpful and were able to sort us a large table last minute! The food was so delicious and cocktails hit the spot! We will be back again!

Excellent food and great service. The appetisers are amazing-try the goat cheese dip. Meat was super tender. Lamb chops to die for. Definitely will go again.

Went with a group of friends. Nice setting with parking. Good ambience. On arrival waiter asked if we wanted sparking or still water and were charged for a large bottle. Food was average which was overpriced. Some mains like the shish and mixed grills require sides to be bought separately. Got charged 12.5% service charge even though it is optional as stated on their webpage and menu. Manager intervened and showed us part on webpage which mentioned it is compulsory but other part stated discretionary. They need to update webpage and menu to reflect this. Service was standard but £6 tip given regardless but no service charge paid! Won’t be returning.

Visited with a group of friends for my birthday. The food was lovely but the evening was spoilt because it was so cold. They had air conditioning in the middle of winter. There were 10 in our party and we were all shivering. Asked them to turn the air con down and they said no. Such a shame, none of us will be going back.

Birthday dinner- food was good, was very busy for a January and the live music was great. Was a bit annoyed that the music finished at 10.30 and our table was at 9. On booking we were told the was music all night until closing. Waiter was pushing us to order because the kitchen was shutting at 9.45 apparently, so all felt a little rushed. Friends sent some food back that they didn’t like, I had creamy mushrooms and sea bass, both which were very nice.

Very poor service ordered 20£ worth of food and gave me 5 chicken shish’ and 1/4 of flat bread LOOOOOOL

I have visited this restaurant in as many months and the food is always amazing. I visited there last night, and I felt that I needed to write this review because of the service issue.

Came here for my birthday.. can not fault the service. The food. And decor everything at a top quality standard as you would expect! Not much more to say really on the plus side, the negatives is that my Mrs booked it for my birthday and let the restaurant know it was a surprise, they didn’t do anything for it? Poor from a restaurant of this caliber.. simply a plate to say happy birthday maybe? Also the bill came and there was service charge we was happy to pay this as the service and everything was great.. was £12 service charge so for that reason I won’t be leaving a tip.. that’s what the service charge is? The total bill came to £111 or something and I paid in cash was waiting for my £4 change but it never came? I didn’t say anything to the waitress as I did not want to embarrass herself or me as it was £4? If she really wanted it then cool hope she enjoys it.. they have us some Turkish delight on the way out, this needs to improve as it did not taste great! Will defo be returning because the food and service is excellent

We visited Lokkum for a friend's birthday lunch. Absolutely love that the restaurant has it's own parking facility. Decor was amazing and very upscale, I was a bit nervous from previous reviews. The food was good, a little overpriced but tasty. I had the calamari, chicken shish and sorbet for dessert. I tasted some of my friend's desserts: chocolate brownie and then cheesecake. Nice for ambience, and our waiter was nice. It was quite quiet so we were attended to quite promptly.

I have always wanted to go to the lokkum bar! so defiantly ticked this off my bucket list!

After visiting this establishment previously, which I must admit was not memorable, but everyone deserves a second chance right. But they did not fail to disappoint once again.

I went to this restaurant with my friend for dinner. It’s a really nice venue, so it gave us an excuse to dress up. We booked our reservation and attended around 6pm on Saturday and even though there were a lot more people, the servers were attentive and we didn’t feel left out. I really enjoyed the food, in particular the chicken and would recommend this venue for a night out with friends or family. Fuller’s Road is also free to park on but I think Lokkum have their own small car park too.

Delicious food, there were a few vegan options however oddly enough, none of the vegetable side dishes were vegan as they are all cooked in butter. We were sat right next to a fire exit which people kept using to go out for cigarettes, so if going there make sure to ask for a seat away from this area.

Came here on Wednesday. I have never been before. First impression was how beautifully decorated this place is. Outside space great too. We were seated and quickly served. All had a starter which was lovely. I had mixed grill for main with a side order of chips. Got to be honest I didn't like the lamb. But the chicken was really nice. Only two of us had alcohol and four others had soft drinks. No deserts were eaten. It worked out £45 per head which to me is expensive. The menu prices were quite high anyway. I have to been to better Turkish restaurants and no where as expensive..it was a lovely evening however spent with friends.

Aron was our waiter and he was very helpful, friendly and would love to be served by him again! We seated more than 2 hrs and Aron make sure that after 2 hr we were not kicked out as they normally do. We had a lively time. We ordered steaks, mongfish, mock tails, and were served complimentary bread! Loved the vibe!

Firstly, this is a review of my personal experience I had when I went to Lokkum. I understand that my experience may differ from yours and I totally respect that.

Came here last night for a friends birthday. The decor is absolutely stunning, it really has the wow factor to it. Staff all super friendly and helpful and the menu looked really nice with plenty to choose from. The drinks are pricey though, even by London's standards. Ordered starters and it was nice, not amazing and not worth the price tag of £7.50. I had steak for mains, it was just ok. nothing special and I have made nicer steaks at home and paid a lot less for it. we asked for the bill to find they had added a £15 service charge. Service was good but £15 for 3 people is quite steep. I found it quite average food.

Tried to book restaurant for my 40th Birthday for 17 people, 6 were kids under the age of 12, it was for a Tuesday night. I was told on the phone that they don’t allow children after 6pm!!!! 1st time I have ever come across a restaurant not allowing kids after 6pm. It’s their loss not mine ‍♀️

Our first time at Lokkum and we were pleasantly surprised. We arrived nearly an hour late for our booking and was accommodated well by the staff.

As part of my London Foodie Tour I decided to try Lokkum Bar & Grill and I don’t regret it at all. I received the best service from my guy Nadir and the food was absolutely delicious so I’m definitely making a return visit at some point in the near future.

Fantastic meal, great cocktails! Nadir was a great host with wonderful service. Will definitely come back.

We went to Lokkum for my friends 18th birthday and to say the least we had such high expectations due to the high popularity of the establishment. However when we got there, the staff were not helpful at all, ruined our day and cheated us. i think its absolutely unacceptable . The only explanation I can come to for this type of treatment would be age, and I would hate to come to that conclusion.

Words cannot explain how terrible the service is at Lokkum! The food was adequate but they were very rude from the moment we stepped into the restaurant. It was my friends 18th birthday and they bullied us from the minute we walked in, our friends were 5 mins late and they threatened to take away our table despite paying a £100 deposit prior to our visit which they were going to keep! They brought out the wrong orders and blamed us for their mistake, the waiter had the audacity to calculate our bill as if we were trying to cheat them, they told my friend she could have a brownie for her birthday and then charged her for it, they constantly hurried us to eat our food. When we complained they called the manager and he was just as rude; we felt like were harassed due to being a young group of girls and my friend was reduced to tears! Overrated and not a nice place for an evenings meal let alone a celebratory evening!

We visited Lokkum for the first time last week for our 14 year anniversary. Surprisingly plentiful parking to the rear of the restaurant upon arrival.

Honestly, I loved this place so much. I go to new restaurants every month with my sisters and this is definitely up there with the favourites. The service was excellent from Jeff, he was very welcoming, smiley and funny. Big compliments to the chefs as the food is not only 10/10 but also comes so quickly. We all enjoyed everything we ordered, from the cocktails, the absolutely delicious starters (would recommend the boneless wings and halloumi with the complimentary bread which by the way was the best of all Turkish restaurants), to the mains which were great portion sizes and just so tasty. The place is also such good value for money and has a great atmosphere! Perfect for date nights, birthday dinners and just a nice evening out with good food! Will defo be going back again... Loved it :)

We recently visited lokkum the restaurant was really nicely done!! The food came quickly and was presented beautifully! Dessert not great but mains lovely!!

Amazing food from starters to main and dessert topped it off, friendly staff who tailor made me a cocktail. Ambience was perfect and our waiter Jeff really made our experience. Can’t wait to visit again to try the monkfish kebab.

Good place for special occasions, otherwise, I wouldn't recommend it.

One of those places that has been hyped up..... the venue is nice but not amazing and the same with the food nice but I’ve eaten better sheesh in Chigwell and turquoise grill in Loughton are better food and have a far better atmosphere if you want Turkish food.

Great customer service, was served by ‘haroon’. Perfect waiter, accomodated whatever we needed. Decor was stunning. Beautiful resturant, amazing food. Loved it.

Dined here last night. Good atmosphere and decent food. Let down by their weird policy that if you are coming you have to order a main. Or if you don't order a main you have to order 2 hot appetizers minimum. However I am a vegan and was unable to eat anything from the appetizers. I only wanted sides and a cold starter which was hummous which incidentally never arrived. The waiter refused to bring another drink for my friend until he took her food order. Also we were told that they would not bring bread to the table until we ordered main dishes.

Travelled 4 hours into London to be greeted by the most disinterested waiters ever. The service charge according to them is due to the waiters bringing the food out to your table. Correct me if I'm wrong I assumed that was a waiters job?. The waiter put a napkin on my lap without permission. I was not impressed at all. The waiter told me I must order a main even though I said I couldn't finish it and would rather order a sharing platter. The food was lovely however portion sizes may be small for some people, perfect for me. Service was appalling, I will not be rushing back.

I went to Lokkum last night to celebrate my Birthday with two of my Best Friends. This restaurant was recommended to me by the Saturday girl at my Hairdressers. So I will thank her when I see her next. Very lovely setting. Nice and classy which my friends and I like, especially for birthday nights out. Sadly (being late Sept) a very rainy night so one thing I would suggest is maybe Mats to be laid out the 3 very wet slippery steps on the entrance and exit, when a little tipsy leaving at the end of the night. Could be dangerous. But the food and service was excellent. Couldn’t fault it. I mentioned to our waitress when ordering that I had a Citrus Allergy so I placed my order for my Main and she returned to our table to request that I order something else, as the Chicken Shish had lemon in it. I chose Creamy Chicken instead which was gorgeous and the Strawberry Crumble was Devine! Totally happy with our night out and would definitely recommend to my friends and family. We will be returning too.

The food was really good, especially the dessert recommended by our lovely waiter Geff. He suggested the caramel cheesecake, which was absolutely divine.

The steak was a little chewy considering all of us had medium-rare / medium. The steak knives provided horrible, it was very difficult to cut the steak. We told the waiter that the knives are not very good and if they have anymore however, the waiter said these are the only ones that the restaurant has. Overall, the steak lacked flavour as it was not very well seasoned, we had to put a little table salt over it.

Had the best time celebrating my friends birthday, our waiter Aaron gave superb service and the food was amazing 😁

Food was delicious, quality has definitely improved since my visit a year ago. Has a good range to pick from, we picked a variety & enjoyed it all.

I had a wonderful evening at Lokkum. Everything was amazing from the settings to the food/cocktails as wells as the lovely Ali and Nadir who had us covered throughout the night. These guys were lovely and fun. I highly recommend going to Lokkum; best experience i've had too far from a restaurant that ticks all the boxes.

Visited on the Saturday 14th September, amazing service, food and drinks. Aaron was our waiter absolutely fantastic the whole night very attentive and kept us topped up for drinks. Whole restaurant was extremely nice and the food was fantastic! The cocktails were amazing for the price you pay. Pornstar Martini was the best yet! Will defiantly be back!!

Thank you to our host Ali for making our party of 29 people a memorable one. Food was glorious and you went above and beyond to make us feel hospitable. The magician was fantastic! He bought that extra magic touch to the evening. Pricey venue but memorable experience. Thank you also to the lady at reception who made it possible for us to be there at the time we wanted.

Just got back from an evening at Lokkum. A friend took us here as a treat. What a treat! Living in North London we have visited many, many Turkish restaurants in the area and have never experienced the quality of service and food as we got here. Very elegant decor. This is NOT a large table, loud celebration, get them out quick place. This is a very elegant restaurant with the most amazing food and service. We were welcomed into the restaurant and seated at a table. Even at 6.30 on a Thursday there were a few other tables occupied. People were arriving for a surprise birthday party in the booth next to us but it was never noisy or boisterous. A very quiet, classy place. The starters were a large Platter of cold starters - hummus, cacik, tarama, shakshuka etc. Delicious. Chef soeci this evening was a Tbone steak so we ordered a T bone, a rib eye and a sea bass. My seabass was beautiful, honestly the best I've ever had, with butternut squash mash, broccololi and veg kebab. My husband had the rib eye, which was beautiful and tender and our friend had the Tbone. The Tbone was amazing. So tender and melt in your mouth. We all tried some of that. We also shared a baklava (can't remember the Turkish name on the menu?) with ice cream layer which was delicious. Coffees were good quality too. We had the Malbec Kaiken Ultra red wine which was amazing.

When we walked in we was greeted very professionally. The place is beautiful and looks very posh. The service was very friendly. Atmosphere was calm. The food was okay/mediocre. For that price could’ve got better somewhere else. But all in all it was nice. Starter was delicious. Main was okay. And there wasn’t any much options for drinks as I don’t drink alcohol. There was no fancy mojitos for the non-alcoholic drinkers. All in all place was nice!

I celebrated my birthday last night at Lokkum with my family.

I have been to Lokkum, South Woodford many times before this, and have always been blown away with the food. However, this restaurant may be a bit pricey for some people so do consider this before you come(£18 for a chicken dish). If I could change anything, I would serve the chicken sheesh with rice. Would highly recommend this place for a great night out.

Wow!!! I am in the top 2% on trip advisor with over 174000 readers a month and can honestly say that I had a lamb chop off of my wifes dinner, just to try, and it was by far the best quality I have ever had! Our entire group had fabulous food with fantastic service today and cannot thank the owners and the team enough!!!!

Four friends and I came to the restaurant for a friend’s birthday mean after hearing about the amazing mojito’s and we were not disappointed!! We were running a little late for our booking, but as soon as we got there we were really looked after, and the staff made sure the birthday arrangements were executed wonderfully. The food was served swiftly and it was fantastic, and such good portion sizes too! I would especially like to thank Jeff who served us, for his attentive hospitality and his banter throughout the evening! Definitely made the experience memorable. Definitely recommend the place!!
