Tirana in Redbridge

Was in the Ilford area running errands and spotted this restaurant just off Cranbrook Road. Decided to pop in for a feed as I’m huge fan of Mediterranean food but hadn’t tried Albanian cuisine before. I ordered the Beef Hot Pot with a side of olives. The hot pot arrived absolutely sizzling, so presentation was on-point. Wonderfully warm and soft bread rolls also came with the dish, which acted as the perfect accompaniment to the sensational sauce of the hot pot (tart, cheesy and lush - how I imagine an Albanian mum would make for her kids on a cool night). The olives were well-seasoned and the restaurant also has a range of Albanian drinks. Tried Bravo Strawberry which tasted like pure strawberry juice in a can. Nice option to wash down the feed. This place was a great intro into Albanian cuisine and I’d go out of my way to visit Tirana again when the mood strikes. 10/10 recommend.

I visited Albania last summer so I was delighted to recently discover this excellent restaurant in Ilford serving traditional dishes, including the beef hotpot which arrived at my table sizzling hot alongside a generous basket of toasted bread. Such a comforting dining experience on a rainy day. I will definitely be returning as I work locally and this place serves wholesome meals at a good price. Thank you.

Decided to try this place out on a whim. Was pleasantly surprised with the food! The steak was really nice, and so we're the sides. The waiter who served us was very friendly, and we learned about some Albanian culture. Definitely recommend!

Really quiet and nice place to have a cup of coffee at 22:00. They let you smoke just outside in the sitting area which was very nice.

This was my first time eating out at Albanian restaurant food was delicious, good portion size well cooked loved the salad and chops. nice decor polite and friendly staff.

If you are going to come at here and you have never had Albanian food before I suggest you have the Tirana specials first. I love the Tirana bean soup with meat prepared teh traditional way. Absolutely delicious and definitely get the drinks from Albania. Glad I finally stopped by this restaurant after passing it for many months.

相隔了五個月，又來到倫敦去仔仔最喜歡的一這間地中海餐廳食晚餐。 不過，就沒有相似 好吃了，因為今次每碟東西都煮得比較鹹。不知道是否換了廚師呢！ 結算後都有跟服務員 反映過意見，亦看到服務員聽後都立即跟住廚師講一聲這樣～ 有機會都應該還會繼續幫襯。畢竟他的risotto真係煮得幾好吃。希望下次再惠顧時，可以煮回第一次吃的時候水準啦～

Tirana is a nice Albanian restaurant / coffee shop. Interior is elegant and always tidy. There is a terrace, so you can have a cigarette with your coffee. The personnel is friendly and makes you feel comfortable and relaxed. The food is amazing and I can never resist the home-made cake called Trilece. Tirana is a perfect place to spend time with family or friends or alone.

We chose to stay and eat in Ilford, rather than travel else where. We'd seen this restaurant walking from the car park to the hotel we were checking into. If returning back to Tirana, it was relatively empty, bar a few other customers, and a private function down stairs. The lad serving was very attentive and on the ball, yet not rushing you. The menu was not a hugely vast book to read but had enough of a choice without feeling lost.

Asked for 2 lagars.. Got 2 red wines tasted like vinaigrette

Very nice people and place for a specialty restaurant. Had a steak and spinach.. surprisingly good. The steak served on a hot stone is quite unique for such a standard restaurant.

This is an Italian restaurant near the Rosalee hotel in Ilford. Went there with a friend. She had the carbonara and I had the chicken risotto. Large portions, wonderful food, nice friendly staff. Reasonably priced. Would definately make a return visit!

Menù vario che spazia da carne a pesce a insalate, con evidente influenza della cucina italiana. Servizio preciso, gentile e cordiale con adulti e bambini. Se vi trovate in zona, ve lo consiglio caldamente.

Il servizio e l'accoglienza da parte del personale ( gentilissimo ) sono fantistici come anche la carne assaggiata qui. Il sirloin steak merita tantissimo accompagnato o da un ottimo vino italiano o da una fresca birra. Da riprovare in un prossimo viaggio.

My daughter and I came here for dinner and we ate mixed grill and beef strips. Both were very delicious and the staff was very friendly. I would definitely recommend this cute little hidden gem of a restaurant.

Siamo capitati per caso perché dopo una giornata in giro questo ristorante era vicinissimo al nostro hotel.Cucina ottima personale fantastico pronti ad esaudire ogni nostra richiesta. Carinissimi anche se la sera ci presentavano in 30 senza preavviso, che dire bravi,bravi!

Vi var her 2 voksne og 2 børn, den dag. Vi kom ville børnene have pizza kunne ikke rigtig finde noget sted, så så vi Tirana som lå lige foran vores bolig, de havde godt nok ikke pizza, men spaghetti bolognese sim børnene var vilde med så vi kom tilbage vires sidste aften, børnene fik valget mellem MC Donald’s eller Tirana de valgte Tirana så 👍 rigtig godt sted, vi voksne fik chicken soup, den kan varmt anbefales

Having not had a proper meal for over 24 hours we came across this establishment in a side street in Ilford. The menu was shown outside so we knew we would find something we liked. I think that they had recently refurbished it as everywhere was pristine. Our waitress was friendly and efficient. We shared a calamari starter and I ordered s T-bone steak. I was a little wary as the previous two I had in restaurants were dry but I need not have worried. It came on a hot stone with salad and chips on the side. It was delicious. There must be many tourists who, like us, stay in Ilford for its low cost hotels with transport into London to hand. I would recommend this restaurant as the prices are very reasonable. I rarely give five "blobs' as I only give top marks to a place without fault and I found no fault with this establishment, food or service.

Da italiana abituata a mangiare ottima pasta sono rimasta piacevolmente sorpresa. Consiglio gli spaghetti al pomodoro fresco, un sugo eccellente, ottimo anche l'agnello arrosto, tenero come il burro.

De aard van de keuken is niet direct duidelijk: 'Mediterraan', zegt de folder maar het aanbod heeft een sterk Indisch accent. De bezoekers ook en dat zijn vooral bewoners uit de buurt. Dat pleit voor het restaurant en het is er dan ook meestal gezellig druk. Een kaart met heel veel verschillende keuzes. Geen top gerechten maar smaakvol en redelijk geprijsd. Wil je simpel en goed eten? Prima plek.

In un luogo che offre veramente poco trovare un locale come questo è una vera fortuna. La cameriera è gentilissima e cordiale, i piatti tutti buonissimi, soprattutto quelli di carne. Lo consiglio a tutti!

Fantastic place to have dinner with a family

This was such an awful experience. For a Saturday night it was empty.. We stayed the night a couple of doors down from the restaurant and chose to eat here as it was 10 p.m. My husband is a vegetarian and from the limited choice chose to have a pasta with vegetables. I chose grilled chicken with salad. The olives were bitter, there was no humus and the garlic bread was just palatable. The grilled chicken tasted like cardboard and no sauce with it. The pasta was also barely palatable.

We were surprised by this place, down a quiet street. The Tirana specials are well worth a try, as is the homemade dessert!

In all it was an enjoyable meal, in a nice atmosphere with good service and tasty food. If you want something that tastes good, in a relaxed environment and you're in Ilford then why not give this place ago? However make sure you've got cash, as when we visited I had to run to the train station to access the cash machine as they were not accepting cards!

I was staying at a hotel nearby and was looking for something quick in the evening. I ended up going here 3 nights running for their tasty food. Very friendly staff and a spotless environment. A good range of Mediterranean style food but the beef hot pot is particularly good. Overall really good value and a pleasant place to eat.

Friends and I traveled here for lunch from London. Despite the info that it was open, it was obviously closed and looked that way. There were chains on the door and old paint outside.

Nice cafe good place for brunch

This restaurant is so lovely, it is totally homely and clean. The food is fresh and they do the best rice and greek salad ( its all I ever get because its so good ) - It does get a very local crowd mostly male, but don't let that put you off, inside no one bothers you, eat in nice environment and no delays with your food. Their coffee is the best.
