I love the Lochaber Café. Everyone's so friendly, and the service is really quick. I usually go for the Breakfast Roll, but all the breakfasts are great and served hot, unlike many caffs. Eggs and bacon were served well cooked and to [everyone's different] tastes. Most other dishes I've tried are good too. Coffee's excellent, never bitter so you know it's made properly and the machines are kept clean. Good selection of sweet treats, but I can rarely see past the Raspberry Coconut Cake. In a town where poorer and more expensive eateries come and go at a dismaying rate, the Lochaber Café is a constant and reassuring presence.

The Lochaber Cafe is a small cafe situated in the train station. It's nice, friendly, and good. My wife had the full Scottish breakfast and I had Eggs Balmoral which is basically haggis Eggs Benedict. It was very good with haggis, poached Eggs and hollandaise sauce over English muffins. Prices were very reasonable.

The food is absolutely the worst I have ever had in my life. I don’t understand why it still has 4.4 stars. Do people writing those good reviews never tried anything better?

I trusted the reviews unfortunately. This cafe is situated within the train station. There is no atmosphere to be had, the food was average (slightly below) and the service was non-existent (borderline rude). I was trying to find a nice local place in Fort William to enjoy breakfast, but this certainly was not it. If you are traveling, I hope you have a better experience and find a nice place to enjoy such a lovely Scottish town.

Very friendly staff and very tasty food at a reasonable price. My husband, our dog Bailey and I visited this cafe on the 19.08.24 and we are so happy we found this hidden gem. All the restaurants and cafes in Fort William were full, but this place had room for us and made us very welcome. A lovely young lady offered our dog Bailey a sausage. Sadly Bailey couldn't have the sausage due to his allergies, but we are grateful for the kind offer. Thank you so much. We will definitely be back. :-)

I always thought it was impossible to mess up a bacon sandwich, one of the simplest foods ever… but today, that theory was shattered. The bacon looked like the inside of my shoe after a long hike up Ben Nevis, and honestly, it tasted like it too. Overall, it was a pretty terrible breakfast!

A group of 8 of us went in before we got on the Harry Potter Jacobite steam train dressed in cosplay. They took orders of some of us but refused to acknowledge and take the orders for the last two of us, no idea why. After the first four got served they asked nicely the two older women if we could get our order in and get served because we were all together and going on the train. Still they refused to acknowledge the two of us,(except for nasty stares/stink eye) take our order or serve us. But they did take the order of the next 10 or so people after us while continuing to act like we didn't exist. This was very unprofessional, uncalled for and just plain cruel and mean. In case it was an accident (which I severely doubt it because while dressed in cosplay we really stand out in a crowd) it was very politely called to their attention, and yet they still avoided correcting their mistake/acknowledging us/taking a food order/conducting a business transaction in a place of business and continued carrying out refusal of any interaction except for the nasty stares. I cried a lot and went to the lobby area and the nice lady in the gift shop was a very nice, had muffins and coffee and she took my order and fed me. No problems with anyone else in the town of Fort William serving us in Harry Potter cosplay, or on the Jacobite steam train, or in Malaig. Every business we went to,except for Lochaber Cafe, was more than welcoming and very pleased that we stopped in.

We were a table of 7. Restaurant was really busy and very noisy with several dogs and TV with football on. Difficult to hear the conversation round the table at some points. We were informed that there was no chicken, no steak pie and no salmon left as they had been really busy. Surely they should take into account that it's a busy time of year and be better prepared. Most of our group ended up with burgers and I had Mushroom Risotto which was really a starter but they said they could do it as a main course. Well I've yet to find a mushroom .... It was basically soggy rice which tasted of gravy granules. I notice that previous reviews have mentioned how scruffy the staff looked and I have to agree. All in all a very disappointing experience and one which we won't be repeating.

We have visited this campsite twice now in our van and its great. Fantastic location (no signal which is bliss) and beautiful views along the beach and of the Sgurr. The team onsite are so lovely, the cafe is well stocked and the coffee and pastries in the morning are just the ticket. Showers are great, clean and tidy, as are pot wash and tumble drying areas. Make sure you bring some £1 coins would be my tip! Highly recommend, just watch the road down as it is pretty battered by all the people visiting the Fairy Pools!

We stopped in Dornoch during a day tour on our way to Dunrobin Castle. I’d do the same if I returned and you should too! Our guide had planned to take us to Cocoa Mountain, but we arrived before they opened, so we stopped by another cafe in town. As I am not a coffee drinker, I got a hot chocolate at said café, and it was delicious! My mom, my sister, and I wandered around Dornoch Cathedral’s cemetery and grounds, sipping our hot chocolate happily and exclaiming how delicious it was. Some locals heard us and exclaimed, “the best hot chocolate in town is from Cocoa Mountain.” Well, that determined that I must try it, so I wandered on over and they did appear to be open! I walked on in and waited as they helped a customer in front of me. Once they’d finished, they let me know they actually weren’t yet open (!!! not sure who that person was), but after much teasing, happily took my order. I got hot chocolate for myself, my mom, and sister, along with a box of every flavor of chocolate they had available. They have some great deals where you can do a coffee, tea, or hot chocolate with 4 chocolates, but I couldn’t settle on that few! They packaged it all up in a cute box with helpful flavor key, and I was on my way. This hot chocolate was just as delicious as the previous hot chocolate we had, and I don’t think any of us could choose a favorite as they were yummy in quite different ways. It was thick and luscious, not too sweet, but never bitter, and just incredible. I don’t know how we all drank two hot chocolates in a row, but we couldn’t bear not to finish it! The chocolates were also all wonderful. My favorites were the unusual flavors: Orange Geranium and Raisin & Toasted Almond. Additional offerings include baked goods like cookies and brownies, plus bars of chocolate, chocolate drops, chocolate shards, etc. The interior was quite large with a good amount of seating as well as picnic tables outside. Prices were very reasonable and a steal for exemplary treats. I don’t think they had a parking lot, but there was parking along the street, and I believe there were some lots in a different section of town. It’s a cute little area, so very walkable, and at least on our visit, not too busy. I will forever be grateful to the two nice women working that day who probably secretly rolled their eyes at the American wandering into their store before opening time, but nicely took my order anyways. I hope to return someday!
