21/09/2024 1st time visiting … table for 2; Staff couldn’t have been nicer. Young lady, very helpful with one of the party needing gluten free, the chef / owner was also very polite and made you feel very welcomed. The calamari, prawn cocktail starters were delicious. The main was lobster with a chilli sauce, which was a very well cooked and beautifully tasting, one of the nicest lobsters I’ve had, very nice! As were the prawns in garlic butter main. Overall couldn’t fault anything about it. Clean, nice atmosphere and a couple of Thai beers to wash it down. Definitely got regular returning customers. Thanks again & see you soon!

Another fantastic evening. Staff are always so welcoming and friendly always a great atmosphere. As usual the food was delicious and beautifully presented. We were a group of four and had starters and main , the chowder is amazing and so was the duck. We will be back soon.

Enjoyed a birthday family meal out, all chose specials and thoroughly enjoyed it. Service was excellent too. Only thing that let it down was a bit of a random music mix. The Panang red curry was superb.

We had a very good time here, the smoked haddock chowder was lovely and the prawn spring rolls were delicious. We also had as a main course the crispy pork with red sauce with jasmine rice and the Tai style Roast duck with egg fried rice were also good and decent portions for us. The only downside was that the above and a bottle of wine cost a total of £80.00 which I find is more of a special occasion restaurant rather than a monthly treat. Although this was a very nice meal.

A great restaurant, I had the deep fried lobster tail in thai red curry sauce, both were fantastic, the red thai curry sauce was very good, nice amount of heat but not overwhelming and great flavours. The squid starter was excellent too. Really nice restaurant, nice ambience. Not cheap, but you absolutely get what you pay for.

We visited here last week for my birthday and had the Mussels in Green Thai curry sauce and a whole spicy lobster. The staff were friendly and attentive, the food was absolutely delicious and the best green curry sauce ever so I will definitely have a green curry next time and the spicy lobster was amazing too!

AMAZING food and great service! We ordered oysters to try for our first time and the server gave us them on the house. The server also gave us some grilled oysters on the house to try.

We had the lobster, which is the most expensive protein on the menu and was overcooked. Very chewy. You would hope that your premium items would be cooked perfectly and given the name of the restaurant. I would have loved for it to melt in my mouth, Unfortunately, it did not, and we all had stomach cramps. Maybe we went on the wrong day and had the leftovers from the day before. We were sad as we were really looking forward to trying this restaurant after they won Come Dine with me in 2022. Very disappointed. We will not be going back.

We arrived at 5 pm when just opened the staff were not very attentive we had to ask for drinks.The starter was lovely we had oysters and chowder but it went down hill after that we all had lobster and it was really chewy and it was very expensive we all had stomach cramps after we will definitely not be going back one word avoid there is such more better restaurants out there for half the price,

I’ve wanted to go here for a really long time and we finally went tonight. It didn’t disappoint. I had the Thai green salmon curry and it was lovely, my sister had the Thai duck and that was fantastic, such a big portion! I would definitely come back, it’s good even if you don’t want seafood. Really cute inside, especially the cool chair with the dragon armrests. The waitress was very nice too, no wonder they’ve been there such a long time.

It's rare to find a restaurant in Nottingham that serves fresh seafood, but the seafood there is truly delicious. I really enjoy their seafood platter, as it allows us to indulge in various styles of seafood in one go. Additionally, they offer Kid's meals that cater to children's tastes. The Pad Thai and fried rice are also incredibly tasty. The staff provides excellent service, and the restaurant has a comfortable and pleasant environment. The atmosphere is also great. Thank you for giving us a delightful evening.

I’m an autistic child, who always loves to go to the lobster pot, all the staff are very friendly, I came here for my birthday once, and they made it amazing, I definitely recommend, the sea food is amazing, with the thai charm, great restaurant, great food, great service. Need to give a shout out having visited last night for the first time! Having booked for a group of 7, we were given an ideal table by the window. Drinks order was taken promptly followed by food order. The food we recieved was absolutely delicious, well cooked and fresh and everybody cleared their plates! Chef did a brilliant job. Also need to praise the young waiter and waitress with their attentive service, the waitress in particular as she had remembered who had order what foods well enough to split the group order into individual bills correctly for us! Will definately be going back! Thank you!

Oh my goodness, what a lovely place. Do not be put off by the fact it is near a shopping centre. It is like a tardis from the outside. The people are so gorgeous, and the food is to die for. Mussels , Pad Thai, and lobster what's not to like . Indoor decor is imaginative and authentic

Went here to celebrate a friend’s birthday and had a great evening. The staff are very welcoming and friendly. It was a Friday evening and every table was occupied which contributed to the great atmosphere. We had a mixture of food from the main menu , very large choice and also the specials board - garlic prawns to die for . All of the food was well presented and cooked perfectly , quite large portions . Only 1 negative comment would be we had to wait 20 minutes between courses, however this didn’t spoil the evening. We will definitely return 😀

Fantastic little find. Great service and lovely food and well priced for the quality. Oysters with that spicy Thai dressing was amazing, followed by a whole lobster to share. Only feedback I'd say is the drinks menu could be far better, but we'll definitely go back again soon to maybe trey some of the Thai dishes.

Delightful dining experience trying the shellfish platter, pad thai, and fresh oysters. The shellfish platter was a true seafood delight cooked to perfection. The pad thai was authentically Thai, perfectly prepared, and absolutely delicious. As for the oysters, they were really fresh. Services and staffs were great as they checked in from time to time to ensure that everything was alright. I throughly enjoyed the experience at Lobster Pot.

We had been wanting to visit the lobster pot for months and finally able to go out for the evening for dinner and we were unfortunately very underwhelmed with the quality of the food. After reading all the rave reviews we were expecting to be blown away but out of all the food we ordered, the best thing we had were the grilled oysters. The special of mixed seafood pad Thai was soggy and not a lot of flavour, the whole lobster was supposed to be spicy (chilli & basil) but tasted of sweet chilli dipping sauce, calamari was chewy…we so wanted to love this place but the only saving grace was our absolutely lovely waitress, Mia, who was delightful and extremely polite and attentive. We were persuaded to try oysters for the first time which was a fun experience with the help of Mia! Overall, we were disappointed by the food and the atmosphere in the restaurant. The decor is in desperate need of an update and some changes to the layout would be a welcome change. We are more than happy to pay premium if we are going to get good food but for what the lobster pot is charging we would expect better. As I said before, we so wanted to love this restaurant and I feel sad having to write a rather negative review but I think you can get much better Thai/seafood for less money and in a nicer establishment.

I had the oppor-tuna-ty (okay I’ll stop with the fish puns) here recently and I’m sorry to say I was expecting better. I had heard so many rave reviews from friends/online so wanted to try it myself. We ordered the Ultimate Shellfish Platter (which is £10 more than advertised online); whilst it was good, there was no real wow-factor. Moreover, they ran out of scallops so gave us extra prawns (call me shellfish (sorry, I had to) but I found that a letdown). The sides were subpar; the rices and fries were bland and did nothing for the meal. The service was a little slow; for a quiet Wednesday, we were sat waiting a while for our order to be taken/the bill. Ultimately, for all the rave reviews, I was disappointed by the food and the atmosphere, and the expectations didn’t match reality.

Came here for a celebratory dinner with my boyfriend. We had the Haddock Chowder and the Calamari to start followed by the Seafood platter. The food was incredible everything was cooked perfectly and piping hot. It was our 1st time here and won't be our last. My 1st time eating both Oysters and Lobster and they were amazing. The service was excellent and the food was reasonably priced. I have seen reviews on here saying it's overpriced but Seafood isn't cheap, and factor in the costs of prepping and cooking the dishes as well as overheads for the restaurant i didn't think think the 130 that we paid for our meal was unreasonable. I would definitely recommend coming here for the platter alone but all the food coming out of the kitchen looked fantastic and everyone dining there was happy. If you like seafood or thai style cooking then i couldn't recommend anywhere better.

We booked a table for 4 to celebrate our anniversary. Email confirmation politely asked us to vacate the table at 7.30pm which was fine by us. Place was very nice and cozy, friendly and quick service despite fully booked. Food was very nice and tasty. After finishing the main, the waitress brought the bill and put on the table at 6.50. I said we still have till 7.30 and we wish to have a dessert. She apologised and said the table is booked at 7 and the people are already here and we need to leave immediately. Unfortunately, that spoiled our evening. They didn’t give us any notice that they needed the table earlier than promised otherwise we would have planned our time differently. We were thinking of coming back again but after what happened, we would not feel comfortable to return in the foreseeable future.

A rather strange combination of seafood and Thai food. Only had the Thai till last time, which is pretty nice, but had the Clam Chowder as starter and it was delicious so need to go for more of the seafood.

This place is clearly a nice surprise for my son who love spicy, The Seafood platter is very fresh, and the Gah Pow, which is stir fried meat, which in this case we order the crispy pork Gah Pow, is very very good. Highly recommended for those craving spicy food.
