This does have nice food here, but the service is pants, and home delivery is hit and miss when phoning them they do not help you they just blame the delivery person.

Do not order from KING COD!!! Appaling customer service shouting at me down the phone saying it is down to just eat not them. Ordered through just eat, said it had been delivered but nothing turned up. When I called king cod to complain they didn't offer to compensate or give us any food.

We ordered online fish and chips and looks good and everything was fine till I find 3 hair in my chips 🤢🤢I think and I hope hygiene is frst so this disappointing me I hope you improve little bit more and next time when I ordered I will enjoy my fish and chips

Ordered a small cod and chips. Service was okay. But was ruined by the food. The chips were undercooked and had the consistency of cardboard. The fish, don't get me started. Barely battered and inside us like eating a fishy mush. As much as I hate throwing food away, this time I had to. Would not recommend.

Ordered large fish the fish was large but the batter tasted like donuts so just ate the fish as couldn't stomach the hard fried batter

I ordered sauce that came in a pot which was fine but I asked for them not to put any sauce on my order, it came covered in chilli sauce. the order was to share with my 6 year old son, when I phoned the line was terrible could hardly hear but what I could hear was they do not read the instructions and I was at fault because I asked for chlli sauce, well that's one new customer you have lost that spends 30 to 40 pound a time. Read your instructions it could be someone with an allergy next time.

Best chips in beeston, staff are friendly and portion sizes are excellent. Couldn't ask for more from a local chippy.

Pie was overcooked, as was the chicken tikka. Chips weren’t great either, not satisfied unfortunately.

Once again this takeaway has failed monumentally to deliver edible food. They had been closed for several weeks so we thought that they had, maybe, got their act together. Sadly, NO!!! They took what looked like a decent piece of fish and served us a piece of cardboard and charged more than the Humber Road Chippy who turn out constantly good food. Sadly it was closed that night. Never Again.

We visited Nottingham this week and had Fish & Chips from King Cod. They were stunning. Good quality thick piece of fish and lovely clean, fat chips. When we return to visit family we will definitely buy from there again. Lovely & recommended.

Chips can be greasy , it’s a given. What I don’t expect is them absolutely soaking in fat from the Donner. It was inedible. Please improve , that was bad.

King cod chip shop is on Queens road on the main road going through Beeston. Staff customer service skills were good. Chips weren't cooked enough. I also had beef & onion pie which needed to be cooked for at minimum a few more minutes. Unlikely I will be going here again next time I'm in Beeston

Wasnt so warm the food by the time we got it,also probabaly was put long time ago in the bag because all the wrapping paper was wet from the steam..and because of this the chips was very bad.. also the naan bread was wet...

My first takeaway fish and chips for a while a d I was very pleased. We had a large fish and large chips for £10.30. The fish was lovely and the batter cooked to my liking [not to crispy]. More than enough for two so at £5 each for a takeaway meal that's pretty good. A great local chippy

We have been to this lovely chip shop twice in the last two weeks. I can not praise them enough for the quick service, lovely chips and great customer service and will continue to visit again.

If made fresh the food needs to drip dry for a while before wrapping? ❌ Fish is fresh and not from frozen stock ✅ Card payments not accepted - ONLY CASH, which may be not acceptable to some folks ❌ Great little place, for this area of Engerland and, personally, not the best I've had but, believe you me, by far not the worst!

Staying around Nottingham, I thought that I'd pop in for a bite. Ordered your basic cod & chips, for five thirty. Great tasting cod and batter, the chips were just right. Asked if I could eat in, as the walk from the hotel, was a bit far. I could, and got tomato sauce for free. My only dissatisfaction, was when I tried to turn the cod over; and the battery slid off.

Having spent a few weekends in the past month at our sons new house in Beeston we have been eating a fair few takeaways. As it is a 2 minute walk from my sons house we have had two fish and chip meals from King Cod. Portions are generous and the fish is probably the best fish and chip shop Cod in batter that we have ever had. Prices are reasonable too. Fish cooked to order so it is always hot and crispy. We will be back.

Customer service is terrible. An item that was paid for wasnt put in with the food, I phoned to be told theres nothing they can do! Cannot give us the food that we ordered and paid for, told us that they couldn't process a refund either! The man i spoke on the phone was really rude about it and ended up putting the phone down on me. I do not recommend unless you want to be spoke badly too. Be prepared if you order from here!!

I moved to notts a while back and discovered this place soon after. I've been going back ever since. The owner is really nice and the food us always bang on. I've never had a bad portion of chips and his kebabs are great too. In fact I'm gonna hit it this eve after they open in 10 mins 👌

We come to Nottingham about twice a year, we would go to King Cod at least once or twice for take away. The huge cod is unforgettable, crispy and tasty batter, the fish is always fresh. Me and husband usually share a large cod with chips and a donation kebab, the kebab meat is also mouthwatering! Husband also likes the cod roe, risking his cholesterol, but a fee times a year should be okay I guess? It's very good value too, for all this only add up to £10!

£4.40 for a fish supper which tasted out of this world. Surpisingly good for an "inland" chippie. I asked for "small" fish portion and still couldnt finish it all.

Amazing fish and chips = portions to make your heart, stop crispy crunchy batter, fresh crisp hot chips- I always stop here on the way to or from to get supper.

Very disappointed tonight chips are usually very nice. Tonight they have left a nasty taste in my mouth. Think your oil could do with a change. Hopefully better on the next visit.
