Best chips in beeston, staff are friendly and portion sizes are excellent. Couldn't ask for more from a local chippy.

The best chios and biggest fish and lovely staff

Once again this takeaway has failed monumentally to deliver edible food. They had been closed for several weeks so we thought that they had, maybe, got their act together. Sadly, NO!!! They took what looked like a decent piece of fish and served us a piece of cardboard and charged more than the Humber Road Chippy who turn out constantly good food. Sadly it was closed that night. Never Again.

Cash only! Hard to trust any thriving business that refuses to take cards in 2023…

They left out the curry sauce on my friends order and the employee ran down the whole street with it to give it to us!! Yummy food too

Very rude stuff. Our order has been delivered to wrong place, phone to King Cod and they didn't want to help or resend a new order. Don't waste your time on these low service place. They just want your money, no matter that miss deliver. First time ordered and last time. Worse place ever. Horrible place !

The worst greasiness in the world I will not be visiting this establishment again I advise anyone not to eat here the chips were disgusting and the kebab meat was greasy and horrible staff were ok but needs improvement save your money and go elsewhere

We visited Nottingham this week and had Fish & Chips from King Cod. They were stunning. Good quality thick piece of fish and lovely clean, fat chips. When we return to visit family we will definitely buy from there again. Lovely & recommended.

Microwaved chicken pieces for a kebab and £7will not be returning anytime soon

King cod chip shop is on Queens road on the main road going through Beeston. Staff customer service skills were good. Chips weren't cooked enough. I also had beef & onion pie which needed to be cooked for at minimum a few more minutes. Unlikely I will be going here again next time I'm in Beeston

My first takeaway fish and chips for a while a d I was very pleased. We had a large fish and large chips for £10.30. The fish was lovely and the batter cooked to my liking [not to crispy]. More than enough for two so at £5 each for a takeaway meal that's pretty good. A great local chippy

We have been to this lovely chip shop twice in the last two weeks. I can not praise them enough for the quick service, lovely chips and great customer service and will continue to visit again.

The best chippy in Beeston by far, but can get busy when trying to phone for delivery frustrating sometimes, staff are more friendlier than about a year ago, better. Can't give 5 stars as had issues with delivery phone line and ended up having to fetch myself 👍

Shame. If made fresh the food needs to drip dry for a while before wrapping? ❌ Fish is fresh and not from frozen stock ✅ Card payments not accepted - ONLY CASH, which may be not acceptable to some folks ❌ Great little place, for this area of Engerland and, personally, not the best I've had but, believe you me, by far not the worst!

Staying around Nottingham, I thought that I'd pop in for a bite. Ordered your basic cod & chips, for five thirty. Great tasting cod and batter, the chips were just right. Asked if I could eat in, as the walk from the hotel, was a bit far. I could, and got tomato sauce for free. My only dissatisfaction, was when I tried to turn the cod over; and the battery slid off.

Having spent a few weekends in the past month at our sons new house in Beeston we have been eating a fair few takeaways. As it is a 2 minute walk from my sons house we have had two fish and chip meals from King Cod. Portions are generous and the fish is probably the best fish and chip shop Cod in batter that we have ever had. Prices are reasonable too. Fish cooked to order so it is always hot and crispy. We will be back.

Customer service is terrible. An item that was paid for wasnt put in with the food, I phoned to be told theres nothing they can do! Cannot give us the food that we ordered and paid for, told us that they couldn't process a refund either! The man i spoke on the phone was really rude about it and ended up putting the phone down on me. I do not recommend unless you want to be spoke badly too. Be prepared if you order from here!!

I moved to notts a while back and discovered this place soon after. I've been going back ever since. The owner is really nice and the food us always bang on. I've never had a bad portion of chips and his kebabs are great too. In fact I'm gonna hit it this eve after they open in 10 mins 👌

We come to Nottingham about twice a year, we would go to King Cod at least once or twice for take away. The huge cod is unforgettable, crispy and tasty batter, the fish is always fresh. Me and husband usually share a large cod with chips and a donation kebab, the kebab meat is also mouthwatering! Husband also likes the cod roe, risking his cholesterol, but a fee times a year should be okay I guess? It's very good value too, for all this only add up to £10!

£4.40 for a fish supper which tasted out of this world. Surpisingly good for an "inland" chippie. I asked for "small" fish portion and still couldnt finish it all.

Amazing fish and chips = portions to make your heart, stop crispy crunchy batter, fresh crisp hot chips- I always stop here on the way to or from to get supper.

Very disappointed tonight chips are usually very nice. Tonight they have left a nasty taste in my mouth. Think your oil could do with a change. Hopefully better on the next visit.

This has got to be the best fish and chips that I have had. Having moved down to Nottingham in November we tried a number of different fish and chip shops but this is definitely the best quality and the staff are extremely friendly.

We've had fish and chips on the coast, all around the country, including some establishments reputed to be 'the best in the country' - these guys knock them all into a cocked hat. They serve incredible fish - huge portions, lovely white fish, crispy batter. The chips are good, the mushy peas and curry sauce fine. And the service is always friendly. You may go further, but you won't find better!

Excellent chippy. We had been driving from Cheshire late into the night and we're surprised to see a chip shop open so took a chance. We're both very glad we did. Excellent service - the guys cooked what we wanted fresh even though it was ten thirty at night and they spoke passionately about their ingredients, menu and other chippy's they'd been to around the UK. Can't wait to be hungry again to try the fish on the menu but the pie, chips, sauce and a drink deal (for just £4.40!) was so huge it might be a few days before we need to eat again. We'll definitely be back.

Chips a little soggy, fish is often cooked fresh and is a high quality, this does mean you can be waiting a while though. Very good value for money. Best chip shop in Beeston for fish.

El pescado es deliciosa toda rota y enorme tamaño - he pedido la "pequeña" y su abundante! patatas fritas son sabrosos y no grasa. salsa curry y guisantes blandos terminar el ñam ñam de orden. El servicio es bueno, y es un lugar popular, pero vale la pena una corta cola!
